IMPGS Chapter 78

IMPGS Chapter 78

Luo Jingshu was living alone now, and since their directions weren’t quite the same, Xiao Cheng asked the driver to take him home first.

Ever since Luo Jingshu realized Xiao Cheng’s soft spot for him, he couldn’t wait to pour out all the grievances he had been keeping inside. At that moment, he no longer cared about his dignity; pursuing a woman didn’t require one.

When the car stopped in front of his apartment building, Luo Jingshu hesitated to get out.

“Two days ago, when I called you, I was here,” he said, his voice tinged with reminiscence.

Back then, he had been filled with despair, unsure of how to seek Xiao Cheng’s forgiveness. He had already prepared himself for the possibility that Xiao Cheng would never forgive him.

While sitting on the sofa and calling Xiao Cheng, Luo Jingshu had been heavily intoxicated, his head spinning, not even aware of what he was saying. He thought he had been sentenced to death, but later realized that Xiao Cheng was never truly cruel to him.

Luo Jingshu often felt fortunate that the person he loved was a gentle one.

Xiao Cheng, recalling their conversation that day, suddenly felt embarrassed. He urged, “Alright, get out of the car. The door is open, and the cold wind is coming in, it’s getting cold.”

Luo Jingshu only cracked the car door slightly. No matter how cold the wind was, it wouldn’t reach Xiao Cheng, but this was just Xiao Cheng’s excuse.

“Alright.”

Luo Jingshu said, but then leaned closer. “Am I really leaving?”

Xiao Cheng, irritated, stretched out a hand to push him. “Stop being so annoying.”

It was just going home, yet Luo Jingshu was acting like it was a life-and-death parting.

Luo Jingshu once again experienced that feeling of being at a loss for words. Xiao Cheng was always so blunt. Anyone with a bit of insight could see that Luo Jingshu was just hoping for a goodbye kiss.

Xiao Cheng had noticed Luo Jingshu’s gaze lingering on his lips, but he didn’t want to indulge him.

We’re not in a relationship, stop being so clingy.

“Just go.”

Luo Jingshu sighed regretfully. Xiao Cheng heard it clearly, but Luo Jingshu didn’t react. Xiao Cheng shifted positions, ignoring him.

After Luo Jingshu got out of the car, Xiao Cheng had the driver turn around and leave.

Luo Jingshu stood there, watching the car drive away until it was out of sight, and only then did he let out a soft sigh, a smile appearing on his face.

“You smile so ugly.”

A voice suddenly sounded from behind, startling Luo Jingshu, but his expression didn’t show it. He turned to look at the source of the sound.

It was Fu Ju.

Seeing the familiar face, Luo Jingshu silently relaxed. “What are you doing here?”

“Can’t I come?” Fu Ju said sarcastically, raising his hand to pat Luo Jingshu on the shoulder. “Do you even deserve this?”

He had been helping Luo Jingshu all this time, yet this person was busy with love affairs.

Fu Ju joked that Luo Jingshu had treated him like a tool, but ironically, he was the real fool.

He had thought Luo Jingshu would be alone for the holidays, so he took time out to accompany him, only to find out he had been overthinking.

However, Fu Ju quickly smiled again.

“I thought you were in for a long battle,” he said.

He was genuinely happy for Luo Jingshu. No one wanted to see their friend trapped in love troubles.

“How did you get Xiao Cheng?” Fu Ju’s gossiping heart kicked in again.

From Xiao Cheng’s previous attitude, he thought Luo Jingshu would have to suffer a lot before things worked out.

Luo Jingshu’s view on relationships was unhealthy. He didn’t properly approach love and treated the person like a canary, without respecting them.

Fu Ju had long guessed that Luo Jingshu might stumble with Xiao Cheng, but he never expected them to make up so quickly.

Fu Ju didn’t understand the details, but hearing about it made him feel frustrated with Xiao Cheng’s soft heart.

“We’re not back together,” Luo Jingshu guessed his thoughts, his brow furrowing as he explained, “Brother Cheng hasn’t forgiven me.”

“So, what was that just now?”

It seemed Xiao Cheng had dropped Luo Jingshu off at home. If their relationship wasn’t better, there was no way Xiao Cheng would have done that.

“If we’re not together, why didn’t he just leave me on the side of the road?”

“Because I was shameless and clung to him,” Luo Jingshu said, adjusting his coat to keep out the cold wind.

He turned to head inside, leaving a trail of footprints in the snow.

Fu Ju quickly followed, still joking, “I can tell.”

“Is that the only reason you came to see me?” Luo Jingshu pressed the elevator button, and in the quiet space, the only sound was their breathing.

“Of course not, I wanted to talk to you about that video from tonight.”

Luo Jingshu’s expression turned colder at the mention of the video, his eyes lowering as he stared at the elevator button.

Fu Ju’s expression also became serious. “Listen to me…”

When Xiao Cheng returned home, it was nearly 10 o’clock. His father and uncle were sitting together, chatting and drinking, speaking softly to each other.

When Xiao Cheng entered from outside, both of them looked up at him.

“Father, Uncle.” Xiao Cheng shook off the snowflakes from his coat, his hair still damp. He ran his hand through his hair, wiping the moisture.

Xiao Cheng quickly went to the kitchen to wash his hands, and when he came out, Xiao Yu called him over.

“Cheng Cheng, come here.”

Xiao Cheng was a little puzzled but still walked over and sat down next to Xiao Yu.

“What’s going on?”

Xiao Yu still had a smile on his face and spoke casually, so it didn’t seem like anything serious.

“Your uncle wants to talk to you.”

Xiao Cheng didn’t communicate much with his uncle, and perhaps because they were twins, every time Xiao Cheng saw his uncle, he felt somewhat guilty.

Strictly speaking, it was the twins who clung to him, so he wasn’t the one who should feel guilty.

But Xiao Cheng thought that, after all, he was two years older than the twins. Moreover, according to the twins, the reason they had developed unusual feelings for him was because Xiao Cheng had played along with their so-called game of bride and groom.

Looking at it this way, Xiao Cheng felt that he indeed bore some responsibility.

His uncle had a serious appearance, but his character was unexpectedly kind. His tone was slow when he spoke, making it easy for people to let their guard down.

“Cheng Cheng, have Xiao Yixi and Xiao Yinan been misbehaving again?”

Xiao Cheng was startled for a moment. Did his uncle notice something?

Seeing Xiao Cheng hesitate and not say anything, his uncle smiled again. “We’re family, no need for formalities. Just speak your mind.”

“If you have any grievances, feel free to tell your uncle. It’s no big deal. I know those two little rascals’ personalities. None of them are easy to deal with.”

Xiao Cheng couldn’t quite gauge the purpose of his uncle’s words, so he smiled and replied, “It’s just some childish temper. As their older brother, I should tolerate them.”

In other words, Xiao Yixi and Xiao Yinan really weren’t easy to handle.

His uncle sighed. “Your aunt and I are always busy with work, so we don’t have much time to discipline them.”

“Her educational philosophy is different from mine. She thinks kids shouldn’t be disciplined too strictly.”

At this point, his uncle paused, as if omitting something.

“But we’ve indeed spoiled them too much, and that’s why they’ve developed this kind of personality.”

As a father, he definitely knew better than Xiao Cheng what kind of children he had.

Xiao Cheng felt a bit uneasy. He didn’t continue the conversation, just carefully observing their expressions, trying to discern something from them.

What he feared the most was that Xiao Yu and his uncle had discovered the twins’ feelings for him.

“Yixi and Yinan are too domineering and never admit defeat. If they’ve done anything wrong, feel free to discipline them.”

His uncle didn’t seem to notice anything. Instead, it was Feng Yi who noticed that the atmosphere between Xiao Cheng and the twins seemed a bit off.

Feng Yi knew her two sons very well. If there was a problem between them, it was probably the twins’ fault.

In fact, it was she who had asked her husband to talk to Xiao Cheng, not to make him tolerate the twins but to help him relax and discipline them without worrying about anyone’s feelings.

“These two little rascals don’t really listen to us, but they listen to you,” his uncle said, sounding a bit puzzled.

“If possible, I actually want to ask you a favor, hope you can discipline them more.”

He sighed as he spoke. “I’m afraid they’ll become too reckless and eventually make a big mistake.”

Xiao Cheng thought to himself, isn’t that the truth? The twins had already made mistakes, but their parents didn’t know.

At this point, Xiao Cheng finally understood that his uncle wanted him to help guide the twins, preventing them from going down the wrong path.

In the end, it all came down to the fact that the twins were willing to listen to Xiao Cheng.

This aligned perfectly with Xiao Cheng’s own thoughts.

When he had heard Luo Jingshu’s words in the car earlier, he had already wanted to do something about it.

Even if his uncle hadn’t said anything, he would still try to correct the twins’ misguided ideas.

“I’ll have a good talk with them,” Xiao Cheng promised.

He stayed downstairs with Xiao Yu and his uncle, chatting for a while before finally returning to his room.

As he passed by the room where the twins were staying, Xiao Cheng paused for a moment, thought about it, but ultimately didn’t knock on the door.

His uncle and the others wouldn’t be leaving until the day after tomorrow, so he still had time to talk to the twins.

Just as he decided not to visit the twins, the twins came to him.

It was Xiao Yinan who knocked on his door.

When Xiao Cheng opened it, he saw the young man standing in front of his room, and this familiar scene made Xiao Cheng subconsciously tense up.

He couldn’t help but let his gaze linger on Xiao Yinan, studying his outfit.

Xiao Yinan was much calmer than Xiao Yixi. In front of Xiao Cheng, he unbuttoned his shirt collar, saying, “I’m just wearing pajamas.”

There was nothing else underneath.

Xiao Cheng let out a relieved breath. “Do you need something?”

As Xiao Cheng was studying Xiao Yinan, Xiao Yinan was also studying him.

The young man’s gaze swept over Xiao Cheng’s body, gradually settling on his lips, his expression dark and unreadable.

There was a small wound there. Although it was small, it couldn’t be ignored. It was clearly visible on Xiao Cheng’s lips, giving off an unmistakable warning and possessiveness.

It didn’t take much thought to realize.

It was left by Luo Jingshu.
