Seeing Sheng Yiling smash the shackles into powder, Mi Dao immediately couldn’t care less about any formalities. He stood up, grabbed her by the arm, and hurriedly said, “Yiling, you have to leave now! This is Wei Yaoshuo’s main city. If you fight him here, you will definitely lose!”
The reason Mi Dao was so anxious was because the Blood Linglong was a divine-level spirit jade. Inside, it had already formed a spirit creature, which had fed on Wei Yaoshuo’s blood and thus acknowledged him as its master. Now that the jade was damaged, the spirit creature would immediately report to Wei Yaoshuo.
Of course, Sheng Yiling knew this, but there was no panic on her face. Instead, she calmly held onto Mi Dao and said, “Senior Brother, don’t worry. The Eldest Senior Brother is currently fighting Wei Yaoshuo. I came here to rescue you.”
Mi Dao, upon hearing that, almost choked on a mouthful of blood.
Rescue him? What nonsense!
How could she, Wei Yaoshuo’s daughter, have the courage to send his son to face off alone with him?!
Mi Dao felt like crying. He immediately yanked Sheng Yiling along and urgently asked, “Where are they?”
Sheng Yiling stumbled slightly but quickly followed. “They’re at Mingyue Cliff…”
Mi Dao nodded without turning back. “Quick, quick, quick!”
“Senior Brother, wait—” Sheng Yiling called out.
“Don’t wait!” Mi Dao pushed open the hall doors, leading Sheng Yiling quickly down the corridor.
“Wei Yaoshuo is no longer the same as before. You can’t defeat him alone; we can’t waste any more time!”
Sheng Yiling was running behind him, trying to pull him back, shouting, “No, Senior Brother, wait!”
Mi Dao finally stopped, turned with a furrowed brow.
Sheng Yiling looked at him with an oddly sympathetic expression. “Senior Brother, I was going to suggest, we could use talisman paper to teleport there.”
Mi Dao: “…Oh no.”
After being trapped by Wei Yaoshuo for so long, he had forgotten that he could fly.
System: “…” (Headache intensifies).
When Sheng Yiling brought Mi Dao to Mingyue Cliff, the surrounding winds had already picked up, and sand and stones were flying. The sky was dark like ink, with heavy clouds hanging low, so thick that even looking at them made it feel like the chest was being pressed down, making it hard to breathe.
At Mingyue Cliff, thunder rumbled, demonic energy surged, and two sword lights, one black and one white, flashed and intertwined at a speed that made even their afterimages almost invisible. Each time they collided, strong shockwaves spread out rapidly, snapping the giant trees on the cliff in half, some even being uprooted.
Branches and rocks, kicked up by the hurricane-like wind, flew towards them. Mi Dao and Sheng Yiling quickly set up barriers in front of them to avoid being hit.
Mi Dao: “…”
He’d seen this CG before. It’s definitely a boss fight.
According to the original storyline, this was probably the final battle between Wei Yaoshuo, who had fallen into madness, and the protagonist who came to rescue Sheng Yiling. On that route, Wei Yaoshuo didn’t have the demon identity and was much weaker, so the protagonist, controlled by the player, could win this boss fight as long as they had good gear and smooth operations.
However, in this hidden storyline, Wei Yaoshuo was clearly much stronger. Without Sheng Yiling’s help, there was about a 50% chance the protagonist would fail.
Mi Dao was about to figure out how to intervene when Wei Yaoshuo suddenly unleashed a deadly move, charging straight toward the man in white. His cold voice rang out: “Get out of the way!”
The man in white dodged, avoiding the fatal blow but still using his sword to block Wei Yaoshuo’s attack. “Until Yiling is returned, you will not leave here!”
The two were locked in a deadlock, neither side giving an inch, suspended in mid-air.
Wei Yaoshuo’s eyes were burning red with rage. “What has Sheng Yiling done to him?!”
The man in white answered heroically, “Naturally, I rescued Wushang from danger!”
Wei Yaoshuo’s anger flared even more. “Don’t you dare touch him!”
With that, they clashed again.
Mi Dao couldn’t help but think to himself, “Ah, hell, I really am a man full of sins.”
System: “…”
Sheng Yiling, initially planning to rush forward to help her Senior Brother, was instead struck by the conversation between the two. She felt a stir in her heart.
Could it be that Wei Yaoshuo has feelings for Wushang…?
Mi Dao, just as he was about to step in, saw Wei Yaoshuo, mad with rage, raise his hand for another strike. The attack hit the protagonist’s left shoulder directly.
“Senior Brother!” Sheng Yiling screamed in horror.
System: “Ding! Target’s HP has dropped to 60%, please be cautious, Host.”
Mi Dao was stunned by the amount of damage Wei Yaoshuo was dealing. Before he could react, he was immobilized, and a silver sword was suddenly pressed against his throat.
Mi Dao: “…”
Holy shit?!
“Senior Brother, I’m sorry.” Sheng Yiling whispered behind him. Then, she shouted loudly, “Wei Yaoshuo! Let go of my Senior Brother! I have Ye Wushang!”
Upon hearing this, both combatants stopped their spells, and immediately distanced themselves from each other.
Mi Dao, still immobilized by Sheng Yiling’s sword, didn’t feel much, but he saw Wei Yaoshuo’s expression shift slightly when he looked over—his usual cold and composed demeanor faltered for just a moment, and he seemed momentarily at a loss. But soon, he regained his composure and looked at Sheng Yiling, saying softly, “What do you want?”
Sheng Yiling locked eyes with her Eldest Senior Brother and shouted, “Demon forces, retreat! From now on, they shall not set foot in the human realm!”
Wei Yaoshuo smirked slightly and replied with a single word, “Good.”
Before Sheng Yiling could even show a smile, Wei Yaoshuo suddenly vanished, appearing behind her like a ghost.
Mi Dao instantly felt a chill run down his spine as he heard the sound of a blade sinking into flesh. Sheng Yiling’s eyes widened in shock.
System: “Ding! Character Sheng Yiling has received a fatal strike, HP dropped to 10%.”
Wei Yaoshuo’s cold and sinister voice came from behind her, filled with disdain, “Naive.”
With that, Mi Dao saw Sheng Yiling loosen her grip on his sword, her body collapsing to the ground.
Mi Dao: “…”
Wei Yaoshuo stepped forward, and his gaze softened when he looked at Mi Dao. He raised his hand gently to caress Mi Dao’s cheek, asking, “Did I scare you, Senior Brother?”
Mi Dao’s legs went weak.
In that instant, he remembered the fear of being controlled by Wei Yaoshuo.
He swore to the heavens, if there were any more R18 scenes, he would lie down and give up completely!
System: “…”
“Yiling!!!”
The man in white, seeing this, let out a painful scream and immediately charged toward Wei Yaoshuo in a blind fury, shouting, “Wei Yaoshuo! I’m going to kill you!”
Wei Yaoshuo calmly looked at him and set up a barrier for Mi Dao before drawing his sword to meet the attack.
Mi Dao, noticing Sheng Yiling’s HP continuously dropping, immediately knelt down and cast several healing spells on her, then gave her a vial of healing potion.
After quickly healing her, Mi Dao turned to see the two combatants still locked in a fierce battle, their hate levels off the charts. He innocently asked the system, “Dad, what should I do?”
System: “Charge in, Duck!”
Mi Dao: “…”
Just as Mi Dao was about to charge in, he saw both fighters simultaneously drop their defenses and unleash a fatal blow at each other.
System: “Warning! Target’s HP is about to reach zero!”
Mi Dao cursed loudly and leapt forward, positioning himself between the two. Both Wei Yaoshuo and the protagonist were shocked, but their spells had already been cast and there was no stopping them.
“Senior Brother!”
“Wushang!”
System: “Ding! Please choose who to save: The Prodigal Son / Wei Yaoshuo.”
Mi Dao didn’t hesitate, replying, “Obviously, I’m saving Wei Yaoshuo!”
This guy had already said that if anyone died for him, they’d be buried together. How could he risk saving his own son?!
In a split second, Mi Dao used all his skills to block the protagonist’s attack, exposing his back completely to Wei Yaoshuo’s strike.
The intense demonic energy pierced Mi Dao’s body. After a burst of brilliant system effects, his internal core shattered.
System: “Ding! Congratulations, Host. All conditions for the storyline have been completed, reaching 100% completion. You are now logging out of the game. Please prepare.”
Mi Dao heard the notification and immediately felt a deep sense of sorrow.
Holy crap, he’d finally cleared the game. It was so difficult…
Mi Dao looked at Wei Yaoshuo’s changed expression and suddenly felt very emotional.
Mi Dao sighed, “System, I don’t want to go…”
System: “This is just a game—”
Mi Dao: “R18 storyline.”
System: “…Oh.” Understood. Smile.jpg.
“Senior Brother!”
Wei Yaoshuo grabbed him and, in a panic, continuously tried to heal him, his bloodshot eyes filled with despair.
“Why did you save me?! Why?!”
Mi Dao gazed deeply into his eyes, which were gradually losing their brightness. He smiled faintly, weakly saying, “Ah Shuo… if there’s a next life… I want to be with you—”
The scene in front of him suddenly disappeared, replaced by pure darkness.
System: “Sorry, due to game logout, your input ‘let’s go for another round’ was not successfully sent.”
Mi Dao: “…”
Damn it!
