Kyungsoo glanced to his side. He saw a scruffy man, slumped in a chair by the wall, sleeping. Just as he looked, a clear liquid dribbled from the corner of the man’s mouth. Kyungsoo quickly turned his head back to the monitor.

“No, I’m at a PC cafe. Someone here is sleeping. Looks like they stayed up all night.”

“A PC cafe? In that case, I’ll sneak out of school now and join you for lunch….”

“Teacher! Cheon Noeul is sneaking out of school!”

The surroundings became noisy. Kyungsoo pulled his phone a little away from his ear and spoke.

“Hey, cut the crap and hang up. I’ll head home after my friend finishes his ranked match.”

Though he felt sorry for the excited Noeul, who was making typos out of joy, Kyungsoo was busy. He had to help Do-young with his FPS game’s ranked match and later log into Illusion in the afternoon.

Noeul went quiet after sending just that one message.

「Me: ??」

「Cheon Noeul: That’s not your wedding, right?」

「Cheon Noeul: Phew… I almost had to attend a guild master’s funeral tomorrow (T_T)」

Kyungsoo rarely brought up games with Noeul. 80% of his playtime consisted of practice games with Melody, and the rest was getting teased by guild members, so the story inevitably had to include Sunset. But since Noeul had feelings for him, Kyungsoo was cautious about what he said. As much as he wanted to leave Noeul to deal with his own heartbreak, he had grown too attached to just ignore him.

「Me: I can’t this week. I have an interclass soccer match, so I’ll be heading to the stadium after school. I don’t have time.」

As Kyungsoo was adjusting his phone, Do-young, who had been looking around, found him and plopped down next to him.

Do-young hadn’t come alone. Trailing along was Tae-yeol, a friend with even less gaming talent than Noeul back in the day.

“I don’t know. He said he wanted to do a spot-the-difference puzzle.”

Kyungsoo couldn’t understand why Tae-yeol had followed them to the PC bang just to play spot-the-difference. Kyungsoo quickly took the title of best player, again and again.

When Tae-yeol joined in for a quick match, Kyungsoo was hit with a sense of nostalgia. Noeul used to be worse than him back then… but now, atleast Noeul had gotten better. His skills had improved, even if only slightly.
