ARIWLBBC Chapter 89

Humans Don’t Want Me Anymore

Holding a fuzzy sock in his hand, Boge sat on the edge of the bed, dozing off, ready to shove the sock into the leopard’s mouth the moment it roared.

The leopard was tightly bound, even its tail was fixed to a metal frame, with only the very tip free to move.

Although it couldn’t see what the human was holding, the leopard understood that the human cub was tormenting it. One moment using props to threaten, the next employing psychological tactics, all in an effort to make it surrender.

Despite such despicable and shameless methods, the leopard would never yield!

Time ticked by second by second. Boge, holding a sock in his hand, had dozed off, while the leopard kept its neck stiff, eyes sharp and vigilant, constantly on guard against the humans.

As the first ray of sunlight filtered into the room in the early morning, Nais entered and woke up the boy, who had fallen asleep sitting upright.

Boge woke up, rubbed his eyes, and saw the energetic leopard staring at him. He wiped the corner of his mouth groggily, washed up, and started eating breakfast.

Nais tried to feed the leopard food to the leopard, but the big cat clenched its sharp teeth and glared menacingly at the robot.

Where’s the human? Last night, he fed me himself. Now he’s sending a robot? Where’s the sincerity?

Halfway through his breakfast, Boge was interrupted by the sound of the leopard roaring again. Nais, holding the leopard food, wiped the saliva splattered on him and went to find Boge.

“Young master, the master refuses to eat.”

“Put it down. I’ll feed him in a bit.” Boge rubbed his temples. “I’ve brought back a little overlord, haven’t I?”

Seeing Boge’s troubled expression, Nais asked softly, “Young master, do you remember how the master recovered last time?”

“Of course I remember,” Boge said, his face heating up slightly. How could he forget? That first time with the little leopard had opened up a whole new world for him.

“If we use the same method this time, perhaps the master might recover sooner,” Nais suggested tactfully.

“But he won’t change into human form. What can I do?” Boge had thought about it but found it hard to implement.

The leopard roared irritably for a long time, but when it saw the human entering with a tray, it quieted down a bit.

“Good boy, Leopard,” Boge said soothingly, scooping up some leopard food and holding it near the big cat’s mouth. “If you don’t eat, how will you have the strength to roar? Right?”

The leopard turned its head away haughtily, holding it high in an unmistakable display of defiance.

How dare you try to fool me with a robot!

“Don’t be mad.” Boge stroked the leopard repeatedly, leaning against its chest and rubbing his face into its soft fur. Taking a deep breath, he murmured, “Tying you up is a last resort. If you behave, I’ll untie you.”

The leopard snorted, glancing down at the human’s dark, soft hair. The warmth of the boy leaning into him was strangely comforting.

This human… really likes me, doesn’t he? Rubbing up against me like this, sticking his whole warm little body to me.

Fine, I’ll grudgingly eat a bite.

After pacifying the leopard, feeding it became much easier. The big cat’s mouth was like a bottomless pit, swallowing all the food Boge offered. If he fed too slowly, the leopard would growl in dissatisfaction. Finally, Boge resorted to using a large spoon, dishing out food like a cafeteria worker to keep the big cat busy eating.

“Young master, your tutor has arrived,” Nais reminded Boge. Hastily, Boge fed the last two spoonfuls from the large bowl, patted the big cat, and got up.

“I’m off to study. I’ll come back later to see you.”

Study?

The leopard frowned. What’s with this human? Am I not more interesting than studying?

Is he saying this just to impress me?

Fine.

The leopard watched the boy leave, his serious demeanor oddly captivating. But why isn’t he studying in front of me?

Doesn’t he know such a simple method to entice me?

Unconcerned about the leopard’s thoughts, Boge continued his online lessons with Sea Hare’s help. Less than an hour later, the leopard’s roar echoed again.

Sea Hare jumped in fright, nearly falling off the chair.

Although the room was soundproof, the leopard’s piercing roar cut through. Sea Hare trembled, his legs shaking.

“Didn’t the chief leave for work today?”

“He left ages ago. That roaring is from his distant leopard cousin,” Boge said, scratching his head. “A bit of a temper, likes to yell a lot.”

“Really?” Sea Hare asked nervously. “He won’t barge in here and bite me, will he?”

“Of course not,” Boge replied quickly, his brain working overtime. “This distant cousin has some control issues lately, so we’ve tied him up. He can’t get out.”

Sea Hare only grew more alarmed.

“Wait for me.” Boge stood up and rushed to the bedroom. The leopard, still roaring, immediately turned its head away in a cold, aloof manner upon seeing him.

Taking a deep breath, Boge grabbed the fluffy sock he’d been holding all night and stuffed it into the leopard’s mouth.

“Mmph!” The leopard struggled violently, but the special restraints held firm.

What’s this human doing? Why is he gagging me? And with a sock, of all things!

Enraged, the leopard thrashed so fiercely that the metal frame holding it cracked under the strain. One side broke entirely, leaving the frame half-destroyed.

As the leopard’s paw swung out, Boge dodged quickly, but a piece of the broken frame grazed his shoulder, tearing his shirt.

The leopard froze, staring blankly at the boy’s torn clothing. A pang of guilt hit him, sharp and unbearable. He wanted to check the boy’s injury, but Boge backed away quickly, not letting him see.

“Nais!” Boge called, clutching his shoulder. The robot arrived instantly and subdued the leopard with a tranquilizing spray.

The leopard tried to focus on the boy, to apologize, but everything went blurry before he could say a word.

“Young master, are you all right?” Nais asked anxiously.

“I’m fine. I dodged quickly. It’s just a torn shirt,” Boge said, lifting his chin. “Replace that frame—it’s clearly not sturdy enough.”

With the leopard subdued, Boge changed his clothes and returned to his studies. Nais, meanwhile, re-secured the leopard in another room, this time gagging it thoroughly.

For the rest of the day, the house was quiet, with no more roaring. Sea Hare, sensing the calm, mysteriously beckoned Boge over.

“Come here, I’ve got a treasure to show you.”

Boge curiously leaned in and discovered it was a set of dynamic projections of elves.

“Your dream lover, Luo Qi’s beautiful pictures, have been sent to you.” Hai Tu whispered, “A little thank-you for the gift of your skirt—just don’t let the Chief catch you.”

After sending Hai Tu away, Bo Ge resumed working on the problems assigned by the big cat, while Nice left the unconscious black leopard to prepare dinner.

Hearing the robot leave, the black leopard opened one eye, scanned his surroundings to ensure the coast was clear, and then fully opened both eyes. With a firm bite, he effortlessly snapped the leather strap binding his mouth.

The room was different—this wasn’t the human boy’s bedroom. There was no trace of his scent here. The black leopard felt uneasy and thought bitterly: Could he be angry with me?

Remaining silent and vigilant, the black leopard lowered his head and quietly gnawed at the bindings on his body. Once one strap was loosened, freeing the others would be simple.

After escaping the bindings, the black leopard silently followed the boy’s scent to another door. There, he caught a strong whiff of the boy’s fragrance. This is it!

The black leopard hesitated. What should I do when I see him?

He’s probably still mad. What if he ignores me?

Maybe… I’ll show him my belly as a peace offering?

Or let him pet my paws?

Bracing himself, the black leopard carefully pushed open the door with his paw, revealing half of his face.

The boy seemed focused on watching a projection, entirely engrossed.

The black leopard glanced at the projection, and his heart sank.

On the screen was an elf, smiling gently at the boy, arms outstretched!

The black leopard staggered back in disbelief, leaning against the wall, utterly distraught.

Why? Is it because I roared at him and hurt him? Has he given up on me?

The leopard weakly pressed a paw to his chest, which felt sour and painful. It hurt so much.

He doesn’t want me anymore. He’s fallen for that elf. They’re in love now.

If I let him pet me now, will he still want me?

I didn’t mean it. I didn’t mean to hurt him. Overwhelmed with sorrow, the black leopard clawed at the wall, leaving deep gashes on the pristine surface.

Do I still have a chance? Does he truly feel nothing for me?

I should’ve yielded when he rubbed my belly earlier!

A strange noise came from outside. Bo Ge turned off his light-brain and cautiously walked to the door. Opening it, he saw the black leopard frantically clawing at the wall, nearly scratching through it.

“What are you doing?” Bo Ge asked in confusion. He’d never seen the big cat sharpening its claws like this before.

A cold voice from behind startled the black leopard, who immediately burst into tears.

He really doesn’t love me anymore.

He’s going to be with that elf.

The black leopard slowly turned his head, revealing a tear-streaked, contorted face to Bo Ge, who was momentarily speechless in shock.

“What happened?” Bo Ge snapped out of it and hurried over, using his sleeve to wipe the leopard’s face. “Who bullied you?”

The black leopard’s body trembled, and he choked back sobs, unable to speak.

Though unsure of the situation, Bo Ge hugged the leopard tightly, gently patting its back to console it.

The manual had mentioned that male beastfolk could be extremely sensitive and insecure during their mating season, and Bo Ge kept this in mind. If even he couldn’t comfort the leopard, then no one would offer it solace in its vulnerable state.

Soothed by the boy, the black leopard let out a long, mournful cry, as if bearing the weight of the world. Bo Ge endured the deafening wails and continued to comfort it, letting the leopard vent its feelings.

The crying went on for a long time, as if the black leopard were releasing all the grievances of its past life. By the time Nice finished preparing dinner, Bo Ge was still feeding the black leopard while it continued to sob.

Fortunately, they were in a deserted area. If there were neighbors nearby, they’d probably have called to complain by now.

The leopard’s wailing lasted well into the night. Finally spent, the black leopard collapsed against Bo Ge, hiccuping.

“Good leopard,” Bo Ge murmured, carrying it to the bedroom and laying it on the bed. He stroked its fur to calm it down.

The black leopard’s blood-red eyes, glistening with tears, stared intently at Bo Ge. Bo Ge planted a gentle kiss on its cheek. The black leopard froze, its defenses shattered, and relaxed completely, allowing the boy to caress it freely.

That night, the black leopard slept deeply, its four limbs wrapped tightly around the boy like an octopus clinging to a precious treasure, unwilling to let go for even a moment. Bo Ge’s head rested on the leopard’s chest, its fur rising and falling with his breathing.

The next day, the black leopard’s eyes were still bloodshot. Its front legs clung to Bo Ge’s waist, while its hind legs walked. Wherever Bo Ge went, the leopard followed.

Hai Tu looked at the black leopard clinging to Bo Ge and hesitantly asked, “Uh… what’s going on here?”

“Sigh, male beastfolk,” Bo Ge said with a sigh. “Every month, there are always a few days like this. Just bear with it.”
