GCLA VOL. 2 CHAP 7

Chapter 7: Human Nature is a Complex Subject

Suddenly, I thought of the Black-clothed Boss.

“Ah… too bad he’s wearing white clothes today, it doesn’t look good at all…” Hei Mei disappointedly lay on the table, lazily, as if Mr. Yang’s attire completely dampened her spirits today.

I took out my phone and showed her a photo of the Dark Boss: “Then you must like this.” I held it close to her face. She lazily lifted her eyelids, but immediately, she straightened up and exclaimed, “Oh my god! My type! Screen-licking!” She actually tried to pounce on my phone to lick it!

I quickly pulled back my phone, and her gaze followed me persistently: “Give it to me! Give it to me! You have to give it to me!”

I immediately shook my head: “No, no, this is considered a confidential photo, I can’t just give it away.”

“I’ll pay!” she decisively said, taking out her phone directly, “One thousand!”

“Deal!” I agreed decisively. Regardless of the confidentiality, it’s just right to use it as rent for the bracelet.

The two phones were placed together, “Ching~~~~” the sound of my favorite coins, and Hei Mei started licking the screen with the photo of the Dark Boss, while I held the money bag with joy in my heart. This is truly a win-win situation.

I quickly whispered, “Don’t spread this around!”

“Who would give such a good thing to someone else?” Hei Mei gave me a disdainful look and rubbed her phone screen against her face. “I’m obsessed, who is this?”

I shrugged. “I don’t know. They say it’s confidential and still under investigation.”

“I don’t care, I don’t care. I’m obsessed with him from now on. If there’s anything else, it must be given to me.” She held her phone as if she was actually hugging the Dark Boss.

She really has a thing for villains. I wanted to ask her if she also liked Chaos from “The Monkey King,” but then the class bell rang. I dared not speak anymore. Mr. Yang is terrifying, even though he’s dressed in white today and looks like a sheep.

Mr. Yang looked at all of us with a cool and contemptuous gaze. “I have read all the reports from each group. You all understand the importance of teamwork, but have you really put your hearts into it? Several strangers have to quickly integrate into the team. This time, one person has done better than any of you, and that is our classmate Xia Xiaolan.”

Everyone turned to look at me. Qing Ming, Mao Mao, Mo Ming, Hei Mei, and Si Yinuo were all happy for me. Even Si Yinuo, who was resting on the table, turned her head to look at me with Xiao Bai.

“Are you talking about Xia Xiaolan, the one who cheated?” someone deliberately shouted, and the quiet classroom burst into laughter.

Immediately, a cold light flashed in Mr. Yang’s eyes. He raised his hand and, in an instant, an invisible force lifted up a male student who cried out, “Ah! Ah! Teacher Yang, I was wrong!”

“Whoosh—crack!” Mr. Yang slammed him against the wall. I stared stiffly, Mr. Yang is so scary~~~~~

No one dared to laugh anymore. Everyone immediately became obedient and honest.

Mr. Yang scanned the room again. “I hate it when people talk in my class! Even if someone has poor character, as long as they can survive in brutal combat, they are an example for all of you!”

“…” Why do I not feel the slightest bit happy? It seems like Mr. Yang also thinks my character is bad…

Mr. Yang looked at us again with a gaze that made us feel like ants. “The reason Xia Xiaolan can quickly integrate into the team has a lot to do with her being a human. Among the species in the Six Realms, humans have the richest emotions and the most complex thoughts. They even have self-contradictions and exhibit highly inconsistent behavior!”

“…” So… is this class criticizing us humans? And why does it sound so awkward to refer to humans as a species? We are at least one of the Six Realms, we should be considered a race!

“The inconsistent behavior of humans is particularly evident in a newly emerged group called the Keyboard Warriors…”

“Ha!” I couldn’t help but burst out laughing. I didn’t want to admit our human flaws because I’m the only human here, representing all of humanity. I have to defend our honor. But at the same time, I couldn’t deny the existence of Keyboard Warriors. By the way, the Divine Realm is really trendy. It turns out that the gods have surpassed our ordinary understanding.

They no longer dress in ancient costumes, untouched for thousands of years, and speak cryptic words that no one can understand. They don’t just love all living beings without worldly desires.

Instead, they use a device shaped like a mobile phone, wearing more personalized and even casual clothes, discussing the characteristics of various races, and even indulging in watching dramas and having drinks when they are happy.

It’s truly “divine”!

A cold light immediately swept over me, and I quickly covered my mouth and lowered my head. The classroom was still dark, and Yang’s cool voice sounded, “Keyboard warriors fight for justice in front of the computer, but in real life, they show a completely different side. The complexities and contradictions of human nature, I believe our only human student in the Immortal Realm, Xia Xiaolan, can interpret it better. For example, when it comes to choosing between two boys…”

“Hahaha…” Everyone couldn’t help but laugh, but they didn’t dare to laugh out loud.

==!!! So… he really has the same thoughts as the boy who was slapped against the wall, but he doesn’t allow others to shout in his class.

“Clap, clap, clap.” The boy who was slapped against the wall actually applauded!

What the f*ck!

“Xia Xiaolan.” Mr. Yang’s cold voice echoed in the classroom, “Please come out and explain yourself!”

F*ck you~~~~~~

“How cruel.” Hei Mei stared blankly at Mr. Yang, then she covered her face with her hands, “But I like it… Ah… this is my Snape…”

Mo Ming was about to stand up, but I immediately pressed him down, then stood up myself. At the moment I stood up, Si Yino also stood up from his desk, looking at me with surprise. Mao Mao, Qing Ming, and Senior Jiang, all looked at me. At the same time, the whole classroom fell silent in an instant.

I stood there in this surprised silence for a while, then lifted my face and raised my head proudly!

Mr. Yang still looked at me with a contemptuous gaze, without a hint of surprise. It was as if my standing up was within his expectations because it also represented the complexity of human nature.

Suddenly, a divine light radiated from the ground beneath my feet. My whole body floated for a moment, and the next moment, I found myself standing in the center of the entire classroom. By my side, there was a white figure. I blinked my eyes, and my whole body began to stiffen. A special sense of oppression came from beside me, making me regret my impulsiveness.

“Xia Xiaolan, the rest of the time belongs to you.” Mr. Yang beside me said, slightly stepping back. I stared stiffly at the classmates in front of me, and they were also staring at me. Some were jealous, some disdainful, some mocking, and some were just waiting for a show. On their faces, there was a line written: Let’s see how you embarrass yourself!

I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and said confidently, “Well, we humans are complex creatures. Keyboard warriors, public intellectuals, angry youth, Mary Sues, Tom Sues, and so on, they are all us. In front of the keyboard, we can fearlessly be our own heroes. That’s because there’s no danger on the keyboard. But in reality, if we encounter bad people, we will have many concerns. Will the bad person have a weapon? Will I get hurt? Will I die? What about my family if I die? We are not gods, we can die, we fear death. We humans have flaws, we are not perfect. However, at the same time, we also have the brilliance of human nature. We are kind, we are friendly, we help each other, we protect nature. When facing external enemies, we unite like never before! Don’t just judge us humans as bad people based on a few individuals. We can unite tens of people, hundreds of people, thousands of people, even billions of people to fight against external enemies! Just like there are gods and demons in the six realms, we humans naturally have good and bad people, as well as those who sway between good and bad. It’s wrong to generalize and say that we humans are all bad!” I passionately finished speaking, standing proudly. Today, I must regain our human dignity here!

The classroom fell silent for a moment, and then someone raised their hand, “So, how do you choose a boyfriend?”

“Yes, this is a typical case of human nature contradictions! It’s worth discussing. Please enlighten us!”

Everyone’s gaze turned teasing again, expecting me to cover my face and burst into tears.

Well, you underestimate me, Xia Xiaolan. Although I’m a poor student, I am Guo Degang’s apprentice.

I immediately squinted and smiled, “This classmate’s question is excellent! I happen to be able to share my psychological changes during this period for your reference in writing papers.”

They laughed, and Mr. Yang suddenly said coldly, “Xia Xiaolan is right. After this class, you will submit an essay on human nature!”

“Ah~~~~~~” Everyone immediately groaned, their eyes filled with regret, as if they had let me come up and discuss human nature.

I turned around and smiled at Mr. Yang, “Do I need to write one?”

Mr. Yang looked at me disdainfully, and his thin lips opened, “No need.”

“Thank you, teacher.” I bowed deeply to him, then turned to look at everyone, squinting and smiling again, “So, everyone, listen carefully. Today, I stand here to tell you that when pushed to the limit, humans will resist!”

Everyone was stunned. I opened my eyes and took out my phone, swiping my finger across the screen. The photo of me kissing Fu Su appeared in front of me and enlarged.

I boldly stood next to the photo. Today, I, Xia Xiaolan, will defend myself and accuse Fu Su of his crimes!
