Wealthy Woof Chapter 11

Dog's first car

Zuo Ning got a new toy—something he had wanted to play with as a child. Back then, it was too expensive for his mother to buy. And by the time it became affordable and widely available, he was already too old for it. Unexpectedly, in this lifetime, he finally had a chance to experience it.

As usual, after accompanying Lu Chenghe on his morning run, Zuo Ning leaned against him, pretending to ask for food as part of their daily bonding routine. Just then, the butler arrived with two workers carrying an enormous package. The butler explained that it was a gift for Little Pudding, specially sent back from Italy by Lu Chenghe’s mother.

Zuo Ning, who was chewing on a piece of egg yolk that Lu Chenghe had stuffed into his mouth—despite wanting egg white—stood on two paws propped against Lu Chenghe’s arm, curiously eyeing the enormous package. A gift for him? Such a big one? And shipped all the way from Italy? He couldn’t help but wonder what amazing treasure it contained.

Holding Zuo Ning securely to prevent him from slipping, Lu Chenghe glanced at the package and signaled the butler to open it. Everyone eagerly unwrapped layer after layer until a shiny, bright red Lamborghini was revealed. It had sleek, flowing lines and looked undeniably expensive. However, this Lamborghini was a bit unusual—it was much smaller in size.

The butler explained, “Madam called this morning while you were jogging, Young Master. She specifically requested that we record a video of Little Pudding driving this car and send it to her. She also mentioned having a video call with Little Pudding when you have time.”

Lu Chenghe, who was wiping Zuo Ning’s mouth, paused for a moment before nodding. He agreed, but in reality, he doubted he would have time for a video call—at least not during Little Pudding’s waking hours. After all, this lazy little thing spent most of its days sleeping.

The butler handed over the remote control and added, “This car was custom-made as soon as Madam adopted Little Pudding. While the internal systems have been modified, the rest was designed to replicate a real car. It was built with great attention to detail, using materials and craftsmanship from a professional production line.”

Lu Chenghe placed the wide-eyed, curious Little Pudding into the car. Although it was technically a toy, the craftsmanship and materials used were on par with a real luxury vehicle. Because of its unique scale, it required even more manual labor to produce.

This wasn’t the first time the Lu family had commissioned such a toy. Almost every child in the Lu family had received one in their childhood. Clearly, Lu Chenghe’s mother was treating Little Pudding as if it were her own child.

Zuo Ning, sitting in the toy car for the first time, was thrilled. He couldn’t afford one of these as a child. Even when he grew up and saw kids in the neighborhood playing with similar toy cars, he only watched with envy before walking away. After all, playing with a child’s toy at his age would have been embarrassing.

But now, with a coat of fur and an age of less than six months, he had no reason to worry about his image. Excitedly, he sniffed around and pawed at the car, his eyes narrowing with joy.

Seeing such an adorable expression, Lu Chenghe’s mood improved without realizing it. That silly, innocent, and cute demeanor was probably irresistible to any pet owner. Before having Little Pudding, he couldn’t understand the appeal of keeping a pet. Now, he found it incredibly entertaining.

He patted Zuo Ning’s fluffy little head and pressed the remote control to start the car, driving it back and forth.

The car moved, but Zuo Ning didn’t panic. He knew the remote control was in Lu Chenghe’s hands, so he felt completely safe. Since his current size made it impossible to reach the steering wheel while sitting, he stood up on the seat, his fluffy tail raised high behind him. With his paws on the steering wheel, his smile grew brighter, his mouth curving into an almost cartoonishly wide grin.

The butler quickly took out a camera to record everything, capturing even Lu Chenghe seated at the dining table in the background.

Driving the toy car around the living room, Little Pudding wagged his tail in delight. When Lu Chenghe attempted to lift him out, he stubbornly clung to the steering wheel with his paws, clearly unwilling to stop playing. Since it was a day off and there wasn’t much to do at home, Lu Chenghe decided to steer the remote-controlled car toward the backyard.

After days of rainy weather, the sun had finally come out, though the grass was still thick with dew. Except for their daily morning runs, Lu Chenghe had avoided letting Little Pudding play outside, worried he might catch a cold. Now that the weather was nice, he decided to take him a bit farther to enjoy the sun.

As Lu Chenghe strolled leisurely, Little Pudding sat comfortably in the car, resting his paws on the car door and looking out at the scenery. The morning sunlight wasn’t too harsh. The rows of trees in the backyard provided ample shade. A cool breeze occasionally swept through, while the crunching sound of fallen leaves underfoot added a peaceful charm to the moment. Both owner and pet felt completely at ease.

Zuo Ning let out a big yawn, closing his eyes briefly. Lu Chenghe glanced at him with a chuckle. “You’ve got it good. I’m walking while you’re sitting in a car, and I still have to take you for a stroll.”

The sunlight streamed down from above Lu Chenghe’s head. For a moment, he looked so handsome that Zuo Ning was utterly dazzled. Sweetly, he narrowed his eyes and barked, “Woof!” You’re the best! I like you the most!

Although Lu Chenghe couldn’t understand his words, it didn’t dampen his good mood. Occasionally, he would take walks like this on nice days, often alone. He enjoyed the solitude, but now that he had a dog accompanying him, it felt even better.

It wasn’t until they reached the edge of the small forest that Zuo Ning noticed a glasshouse in the distance. Through the glass, he could see vibrant colors inside.

Although Zuo Ning had heard that most animals couldn’t distinguish many colors, he could see them clearly. Perhaps it was because his soul was human. This ability comforted him—he couldn’t imagine how dull life would be if the world lost its colors.

As they approached the glasshouse, the scenery inside became even more stunning. Amidst the sea of flowers stood a grand piano. Zuo Ning’s first thought was how the humidity inside must surely damage the piano. Then, with sparkling eyes, he looked at Lu Chenghe.

No wonder Lu Chenghe’s fingers are so long and elegant. He even plays the piano! The man I’ve set my sights on truly has both looks and talent!

Lu Chenghe carried Little Pudding out of the car and brought him into the glasshouse. They walked to a cozy resting area, where a large, soft-looking low bed was set on the floor. “When winter comes and the sunlight is just right, I’ll bring you here for a nap. It’s really comfortable to sleep here. By then, you’ll probably be much bigger,” Lu Chenghe said.

He gave the little dog in his arms a slight bounce and added, “But if you get too fat, I might not be able to carry you anymore.”

Zuo Ning kicked his back legs and climbed up a bit higher, wrapping his paws around Lu Chenghe’s neck. “Awoo!” No matter how big the baby gets, the baby will always be your baby!

Zuo Ning recalled a funny post he’d seen online before and thought it perfectly fitting for the moment. Too bad Lu Chenghe couldn’t understand him.

Sensing the little one’s displeasure, Lu Chenghe supported Little Pudding’s bottom with his hand and chuckled softly. “Alright, alright, I won’t call you fat. You’re the best-looking one.” He’d read that constantly making negative remarks could give pets a psychological shadow, potentially leading to depression. It seemed that even though Little Pudding was still young, he had quite a strong sense of pride. From now on, he’d make sure to offer more praise.

Sure enough, as soon as Lu Chenghe finished speaking, Little Pudding’s tail began wagging happily. His increasingly fluffy tail felt amazing—smooth and soft to the touch. It swished against Lu Chenghe’s palm, prompting him to instinctively reach out and give it a gentle rub.

Zuo Ning felt his butt being kneaded and quickly propped himself up. His line of sight happened to land directly on Lu Chenghe’s well-defined nose. If he moved his mouth forward just a little bit, he’d be able to kiss him. Then, as if possessed, Zuo Ning cupped Lu Chenghe’s face with his paws and stretched out his tongue, giving Lu Chenghe’s lips a quick lick.

Lu Chenghe froze. Zuo Ning froze too. Before Lu Chenghe could react, Zuo Ning buried his head in the crook of Lu Chenghe’s neck. I licked him. I really licked him! He had only intended to give a kiss, but somehow his dog instincts had taken over. Oh no, I actually licked him. How embarrassing!

Lu Chenghe was stunned because the sensation was so strange—something warm and soft had brushed against his lips, carrying the tenderness of a small creature. It left his heart tingling. By the time he realized it was his own dog’s tongue, the little one had already buried its head, refusing to come out. Amused, he patted its rear and said, “No random licking. If you do it again, I’ll punish you.”

Still hiding his face and clutching Lu Chenghe’s neck tightly, Zuo Ning let out a low whine, “Awoo~” Let’s worry about next time when it happens.

After familiarizing Little Pudding with the glasshouse, Lu Chenghe carried him back toward the main house. As they reached the entrance, a car identical to Little Pudding’s toy car—a bright red convertible Lamborghini—drove up. Out stepped a handsome man in a white shirt and jeans. When he spotted the miniature version of his car with a dog sitting inside, he froze, dumbfounded. “I can’t believe I drive the same car as your dog!”

Sitting in his little car, Little Pudding silently judged him. A grown man driving such a flashy red convertible? Either he’s showing off, or he’s a spoiled rich kid.

The man seemed to take a few seconds to process the situation. Then he snapped out of it. “Second Brother, when did you start raising a dog? Aren’t you the one who hates pets the most?”

When they were kids, all the cousins had owned pets—cats, dogs, rabbits, birds—but Lu Chenghe had never paid any attention to them. While everyone else was playing with the animals, he had always kept his distance. It was common knowledge in the family that he disliked pets. Now, seeing him raise a dog was almost unbelievable. The world was changing too fast for him to keep up.

Hearing this man address Lu Chenghe as “Second Brother”, Zuo Ning guessed they might be relatives. He quickly flashed a signature Samoyed smile, one designed to melt hearts. His plan was clear: he would make everyone around Lu Chenghe like him. Yes, he was that kind of scheming dog!

Seeing Little Pudding’s heartwarming smile, Lu Chenghan let out a dramatic squeal and rushed over, scooping the entire dog into his arms. “Your dog is so cute! It’s smiling at me! Give it to me, please, please!”

The warm, heart-melting smile vanished instantly, replaced by a toothy snarl of sharp puppy teeth that hadn’t even finished growing in.
