Her face turned bright red.

 

She nervously hid her hands behind her back and ducked her head, voice soft as a whisper: “Thank you, Daddy.”

 

The little fox’s ten fluffy tails, which usually swayed proudly, now hung limply behind her.

 

Ruan Shiqing reached out and ruffled her head gently. “Go on inside.”

 

She nodded, clutching her little backpack as she dashed upstairs.

 

Her heart was in complete turmoil.

 

On one hand, she wanted to show Daddy her report card and be honest.

 

On the other, she was terrified—Terrified that if he saw she had come in last place, he wouldn’t like her anymore.
