Wealthy Woof Chapter 27

Little Pudding Needs Sterilization

Zuo Ning lay sprawled on the car, his small eyes constantly sneaking glances at Lu Chenghe. However, Lu Chenghe didn’t spare him a single look, keeping his head turned toward the window the entire time. Unable to bear it any longer, Zuo Ning stretched out a paw and scratched at his leg.

“Awwooo!” Look at me just once, won’t you?

Lu Chenghe grabbed his paw and tossed it off his leg. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of those pleading little eyes and nearly broke his cold façade with a smile. But this kind of behavior couldn’t be indulged—he had to make sure Zuo Ning knew it was wrong and absolutely unacceptable.

Zuo Ning pondered for a moment before getting up and sitting beside Lu Chenghe. He patted him with his paw and then placed his fluffy tail on Lu Chenghe’s lap.

“Wuu wuuu~” Here, you can pet my tail, just don’t be mad anymore.

Seeing this obvious attempt to curry favor, Lu Chenghe finally turned to look at him. “Do you know you were wrong?”

“Woof!” Not like you can understand me anyway. I’ll just bark however I like—I’m never admitting fault, hmph!

“Will you dare to do it again?”

Sensing that Lu Chenghe’s attitude had softened, Zuo Ning took the opportunity to climb onto him. He continued until his entire doggy body was sitting snugly on Lu Chenghe’s lap. Only after settling in comfortably and staring straight ahead did he feel satisfied.

Watching this little rascal push his limits and instantly lose all fear the moment it got the slightest bit of leniency, Lu Chenghe gave its fur a rough ruffle. What a cunning little thing.

Meanwhile, Gu Man was a well-known pet influencer with nearly five million followers on Weibo. She had two Huskies of her own, infamous for their mischievous and chaotic antics. Though her home was constantly in shambles because of them, she was utterly devoted to her dogs. She frequently posted adorable videos of them, as well as pet care tips, gaining a huge fanbase drawn to her content.

Gu Man spent her days not only managing her own Weibo but also casually browsing around. One day, she absentmindedly stumbled upon a newly created Weibo account. It only had a dozen or so posts, each one seemingly documenting the slow growth of a Samoyed.

She came across an especially amusing post and couldn’t help but repost it: Hahahahahaha, this is too cute! I really want to buy dresses like these for my Tomato and Apple, but I feel like they’d just tear them apart immediately!

As soon as Gu Man shared the post, many of her pet-loving followers saw it. Naturally, they followed the link to the original account. What started as admiration for the owner’s adorable pet soon turned into envy.

Look at that wobbly-legged pup who can barely walk—this soft little fluff ball is an absolute angel!

Watching the ‘My Dog’s Legs Have Given Out’ series! As someone who can only admire pets online, I envy you all who get to cuddle with your furry masters every day!

Hahahaha, so adorable! That little dress is absolutely stunning! Who isn’t a little princess at heart?

Am I the only one who thinks this is a ‘wealth gap’ post? If I’m not mistaken, that little dress is a handmade piece from an Italian brand, starting at five figures. This is luxury pet fashion at its finest.

Ehhhh, I scrolled through the previous posts… Just wondering, does the owner still need another pet? Preferably one with a college degree and the ability to earn money.

Oh my god, that tiny white fluff ball rolling around on the bed—I’m out of blood! Someone, send help!

There was a casually captured shot in the background… It looked like a painting I once saw in a magazine. If it’s an original, it could probably buy a hundred-square-meter apartment within the Sanhuan Road!

Followed! Welcome to the ‘humans are inferior to dogs’ club!

Just as the butler was about to follow the director’s instructions and post some official promotional images and videos on Little Pudding’s Weibo, he suddenly realized that the account had already gained over ten thousand followers.

He patted Little Pudding, who was currently on the sofa mercilessly tearing open a stuffed toy’s belly, and sighed, “You’re a little celebrity dog now.”

Zuo Ning viciously stomped his paw onto the plush toy’s stomach and looked up: ???

The butler tapped on the screen, uploaded a few video clips of Little Pudding interacting with Chu Hang on set, tagged the production team, and then set his phone aside to oversee dinner preparations.

What he didn’t realize was that anything remotely related to top idol Chu Hang was bound to trend in minutes.

And so, the mysterious “silhouette dog” that had been hyped for a while but never fully revealed its face suddenly shot to the top of the trending list. The Weibo follower count skyrocketed.

On my knees. I’d give anything to be the dog nestled in Hanghang’s palm.

Handsome man, beautiful dog—I can’t wait for this movie! Their interactions are so heartwarming. This is Hanghang’s first time playing such a gentle character. We have to support him!

Hahahaha, fighting over food with a dog—such a drama queen! Just for this dog, I’m booking a ticket to watch the movie!

So this is some big shot’s dog, huh? Care to reveal whose dog it actually is? Doesn’t look that special to me—my good ol’ Chinese village dog is way better!

Followed the trail and scrolled through everything—this pup has been gorgeous since birth! But, rich dad, do you need another dog? I’ll settle for being an accessory!

I saw rich daddy’s hands—long, slender, and fair. So beautiful! Ahhhh, those hands are playable for a whole year!

Little Pudding is so cute! I really want to steal him home!

Who wants to form a team to steal the dog? Anyone in?

Chu Hang also reposted Little Pudding’s Weibo, even following the account. Then, he uploaded a picture of a paw with the caption: Secretly taken before—Little Pudding is too aloof to let me touch his paws, so I had to snap one and admire it from my screen.

After seeing Hanghang’s Weibo, then going back to look at that little fairy in a dress, I just can’t imagine this cutie being ‘aloof’. More like Tsundere, right? Hahahaha!

Just picturing Hanghang crouching down, begging for a paw touch, while Little Pudding turns away in tsundere rejection—this ship is adorable!

So cute, so cute! If Little Pudding ever transcends into human form, he has to marry our Hanghang!

During a short break at work, Lu Chenghe saw a news notification about his own dog and casually clicked in. Skimming through the bizarre comments—things about transcending tribulations, transforming into a spirit, and even turning the whole thing into a CP—he couldn’t help but marvel at how netizens could turn anything into a romance.

However, after watching a few behind-the-scenes clips, he had to admit—hmm, his dog did look pretty cool, even when putting on airs.

When Lu Chenghe arrived home, he saw a young man sitting on his sofa. Meanwhile, his dog was perched on the staircase railing, sticking out his little head to peek down.

The moment Little Pudding saw him, he immediately bolted down the stairs. Lu Chenghe bent down, reached out, and scooped him up in one smooth motion.

The young man stood up nervously. Although they had met once before, he still felt uneasy in front of this older brother.

This arrangement was the result of a discussion among Lu Chenghe and his brothers. They decided that Lu Nianqi should stay with Lu Chenghe for the time being. Their eldest uncle and third uncle’s families were all away on vacation, completely out of contact, and had no idea about this situation yet. Although the family had housekeepers, it wasn’t appropriate for him to stay in an empty house without an actual family member present.

As for the eldest brother, he was already living with his partner, and the third brother also lived alone outside, making it impossible for him to take Lu Nianqi in. That left Lu Chenghe as the most suitable option for temporary guardianship.

Of course, they could simply give him a few properties to stay in, but since he was a member of the Lu family, he needed to learn the rules and understand the social circles he would be navigating. If he were to be taken advantage of, the consequences wouldn’t just affect him but the entire Lu family. Arranging for him to stay with Lu Chenghe was also a practical choice, as there was a butler here who could teach him proper etiquette. At the very least, when attending future family banquets or social events, he wouldn’t embarrass himself.

When the young man was brought over that afternoon, Zuo Ning immediately knew that he had to be part of the Lu family’s bloodline. Initially, he thought this was just a brief visit for Lu Chenghe to lecture him, but unexpectedly, he was actually going to live here. The Lu family had so many houses—was there really nowhere else for him to stay?

Lying on Lu Chenghe’s lap, Zuo Ning watched as the young man stood stiffly to the side, listening intently. For some reason, he looked a little pitiful. Suddenly being thrust into an unfamiliar environment like this, he must be feeling anxious and lost.

Lu Chenghe gave a brief rundown of a few rules and then asked with an impassive expression, “Did you remember everything I just said?”

Lu Nianqi nodded repeatedly, looking like a startled little animal. In a soft, timid voice, he replied, “I remember.”

Lu Chenghe finally nodded. “You won’t be staying here forever. Once you’ve learned proper etiquette, you can move out and live on your own.”

Lu Nianqi didn’t dare lift his head and quickly responded with a respectful “Yes.”

Although his demeanor was overly timid, considering his past environment, it was understandable. Hopefully, with time, he could be trained properly. He didn’t need to be exceptional, but at the very least, he needed to carry himself with the appropriate composure.

Seeing that he had covered everything necessary, Lu Chenghe finally said, “Go upstairs and rest for now. The butler will arrange your lessons.”

Hearing this, Lu Nianqi practically looked as if he had received a royal pardon. Without wasting a second, he turned and left in a hurry.

Zuo Ning watched his retreating figure, which was practically an escape, and couldn’t help but sigh. Reality really wasn’t like TV dramas—becoming a winner in life was far from easy. He had assumed that recognizing his lineage would mean instant wealth, property, and a carefree life, but instead, there was still so much to learn. Just from the few lessons Lu Chenghe casually mentioned earlier, he was already feeling overwhelmed on the poor guy’s behalf.

Hearing that sigh, Lu Chenghe paused in the middle of brushing Little Pudding’s fur. He lightly tapped the brush handle against his small head and said, “What are you sighing for? I’m the one grooming you and you’re the one sighing?”

Zuo Ning twisted his body from a lying position to lying on his back, gazing up at Lu Chenghe—who looked effortlessly handsome from any angle—and grinned with squinted eyes. “Aoo~~”

Lu Chenghe smoothly transitioned to brushing the fur on Little Pudding’s belly, clearing away the loose fur as he went. He tossed clumps of shed hair onto the floor, forming a surprisingly large pile.

When he saw the butler return after settling Lu Nianqi, he casually instructed, “It’s about time to adjust Little Pudding’s diet. Increase his nutrition intake for now.” With both teething and shedding happening at the same time, if his nutrition wasn’t properly managed, his future growth might be affected.

The butler nodded. “Yes, Young Master. I’ll make sure to monitor Little Pudding’s nutrition.”

As Lu Chenghe continued brushing Little Pudding’s belly, his gaze unconsciously swept over a particular spot. Remembering something he had read in his research, he offhandedly said, “Also, check with Dr. Wen about neutering.”

Zuo Ning, who had been blissfully enjoying his grooming session, instantly froze in shock!!!
