The other three people in the training room seemed to hear Yuan Yang’s voice in a daze.  

Zhao Jiu, who was fighting for lane priority, took a moment to ask, “Is Yang-ge on the third floor? I think I heard his voice. Is everything okay?”  

It was quite loud.  

But since he was wearing headphones, the sound effects of the game drowned it out, and he couldn’t hear clearly.  

Jiang Lele was standing outside the blue buff pit, leeching experience from Yu Hui’s jungle monsters. Hearing this, he casually replied, “He’s probably looking for Xiao Hei and couldn’t find him, so he’s shouting.”  

Yu Hui, who had been about to take off his headphones to listen, put his hand down again.  

On the third floor, after Yuan Yang’s persistent knocking, the door finally opened.  

It was Jiang Shi who opened.  

Xie Xu hadn’t intended to respond at first, but hearing Yuan Yang’s furious voice, Jiang Shi got so nervous that he lost all interest in kissing. He got out of bed and opened the door.  

Jiang Shi and Xie Xu stood side by side in front of Yuan Yang.  

Jiang Shi had his head lowered, looking like a student being reprimanded, while Xie Xu was much more casual, leaning against the wall and calmly adjusting Jiang Shi’s loose team jacket.  

Seeing this, Yuan Yang almost choked on his breath. He coughed a few times before Jiang Shi considerately patted his back. “Yang-ge, should I go get you some water?”  

Yuan Yang waved his hand frantically. “Don’t try to change the subject!”  

His expression darkened. “Explain!”  

Jiang Shi shrank his neck, his voice tinged with grievance. “The captain had a lot of packages, so I just helped him bring them up. I didn’t slack off in training.”  

Yuan Yang shot him a look. “Jiang Shi, don’t play dumb. You know that’s not what I’m talking about.”  

He didn’t bother beating around the bush. “Why were you two hugging just now?”  

Messing around in the bedroom in broad daylight!  

Jiang Shi seemed to only just understand, making an “Oh” sound. “The captain gave me several new pairs of shoes. I was so happy that I hugged him.”  

After saying that, he tilted his head up. His face was still slightly flushed from before, but he looked completely innocent.  

Yuan Yang stared at him for a few seconds — or more accurately, glanced at Jiang Shi’s slightly swollen lips.  

Jiang Shi noticed his gaze and quickly pressed his lips together, mumbling vaguely, “I’ve been getting mouth ulcers lately.”  

Yuan Yang: “…”  

He couldn’t hold back anymore and roared, “I saw you two kissing!”  

Who was this kid trying to fool?!

Xie Xu’s lips curled into a faint smile. He ruffled Jiang Shi’s hair. “Go train in the training room. I’ll handle this.”

Xie Xu reassured him, “Don’t worry, it’s fine.”  

Jiang Shi, feeling relieved, stopped pressing his lips together and quickly said to Yuan Yang, “Yang-ge, I’m going to train!”  

Then, as if his feet were oiled, he dashed downstairs.  

Xie Xu watched Jiang Shi’s figure disappear, then lazily lifted his eyes to the person in front of him. “What do you want to say?”  

Seeing his expression, Yuan Yang’s anger flared up again. “Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that? What the hell were you two doing just now?”  

Xie Xu leaned against the wall, casually resting one leg against it. His tone was calm. “What do you think? Doing what lovers do.”  

Jiang Shi had actually taken the initiative for once in something like this, but unfortunately, they had been interrupted by an uninvited guest.  

“Tsk, judging by your face, you’re blaming me for being in the way?” Yuan Yang sneered. “Jiang Shi is only 19. He’s completely inexperienced in relationships, and you — a sly old fox — are taking advantage of him and even acting smug about it?”  

He was just about to roll up his sleeves and have a good talk with Xie Xu when he suddenly realized something. “Wait a minute— lovers?”

Yuan Yang took a full three minutes to process this unexpected news. Then, his aggressive stance completely deflated. “So you really got him, huh?”  

He wasn’t sure how to describe his current feelings: helpless, but also unsurprised.  

Jiang Shi clearly indulged Xie Xu in everything, and Xie Xu was far from a gentleman. It was only a matter of time before something happened.  

At least this gave him some time to mentally prepare.  

Yuan Yang glanced at Xie Xu, silently rolled his sleeves back down, and turned around. “I’m going to check on the exhibition setup and take Xiao Hei for a bath. You handle the training.”  

Xie Xu hummed in acknowledgment, then suddenly remembered something and called out, “Wait.”  

“Xiao Hei is in Jiang Shi’s room.” He pushed open Jiang Shi’s door and very unconvincingly added, “Oh, I just saw it run in there.”  

Yuan Yang looked toward the corner of the room, where a cat was curled up on a cushion, fast asleep. Slowly, he lifted his head, his face expressionless. “Xie Xu, fuck you!”

The next morning, at 9 AM., the TLG team set off for the exhibition.  

Not only was the main team going, but the second team was also tagging along.  

When they got to the base entrance, where they were boarding the bus, the second team’s AD, Chengcheng, saw Jiang Shi and Xie Xu and specially came over to greet them.  

“Captain, Time, good morning.”  

Jiang Shi had been standing there, dozing off. Hearing an unfamiliar voice, he sleepily opened his eyes. Upon seeing Cheng Cheng, he weakly replied, “Mm.”  

Yesterday, after getting caught by Yuan Yang, even though Xie Xu said it was fine, he had been on edge all night, terrified that he’d be punished for “stealing” TLG’s ace player.  

He had even imagined a whole dramatic scenario—  

Yuan Yang forcibly broke them up for the sake of the team, demoting Jiang Shi to the second team, where he had to live a life of solitude, never allowed to rise again.  

Jiang Lele pleaded for him but got demoted too.  

It was a tragedy.  

Coincidentally, Yuan Yang had stayed in the training room all night. Jiang Shi was so nervous that he played his best in every match, not daring to make a single mistake. He even volunteered for two extra hours of training, nearly exhausting himself.  

And now, with an early morning exhibition, it was pure willpower keeping him from collapsing.  

Luckily, Yuan Yang acted as usual and didn’t say anything.  

Xie Xu stepped closer, letting his shoulder touch Jiang Shi’s, providing support. He turned to Chengcheng and explained, “He trained too late last night. He’s low on energy now.”  

Chengcheng nodded in understanding and even lowered his voice. “I’ll head back to the second team’s side then. Bye-bye!”  

Meanwhile, Yuan Yang was busy arranging the transportation. When he turned back and saw the two standing together — along with their matching shoes — his temple twitched. He turned away, out of sight, out of mind.

He observed for a long time last night. Being in love did not affect their gaming level. Jiang Shi and Xie Xu’s ranking mode was normal, and there was no such mindless operation typical of lovers.

Once, Jiang Shi even sold Xie Xu and escaped with his life. It relieved Yuan Yang. 

As for the matching shoes… it should be harmless. 

The car arrived soon, but Jiang Shi stayed inside for a while. Before getting off, he habitually prepared to put on a hat, but was stopped by Xie Xu.  “We will have to go on stage later.”

The exhibition was decorated with blues and whites. Several balloon cars were deployed to deliver balloons, moving along a fixed route. The balloon cars were surrounded by various hero merchandise, attracting the attention of many visitors.

Jiang Shi’s foot stopped in mid-air when he stepped off the car.
