SABL Chapter 98

When Shi Yi is tired, he becomes very obedient, and his usually shrewd eyes become dull.

So Lu Yunye’s usual strategy is to give it to him a few times, until he’s soft and pliant, before asking for it back with interest.

This time, Shi Yi did the work, and it wasn’t just once. By the time Lu Yunye left the shower, he had already passed out.

“It’s a waste of a room,” Lu Yunye muttered, as he slipped into the bed and pulled him into his arms.

His earlier guess was correct. Shi Yi didn’t take good care of himself and didn’t even cover himself with the quilt. He could only follow his instincts to find the source of heat, skillfully placing his hands on the warm abdominal muscles, and finally calmed down.

Lu Yunye found the touch distracting, but the person in his arms slept soundly. His nose twitched as if he had been wronged as he murmured, “Lu Yunye is a big liar.”

“Alright, I’m a big liar,” Lu Yunye repeated his words with a wry smile.

Wrapped in the fiery embrace, Shi Yi inevitably had a nightmare.

In the dream, he was a jar of honey that was hugged tightly by a bear and licked back and forth. Shi Yi couldn’t move as the bear’s fiery breath sprayed on his face; he could only tremble, and in the midst of his dream, he woke up.

Just after dawn, Shi Yi got out of the alpha’s arms, and suddenly felt a gust of cool wind blowing over his waist. After looking around, he realized that the window was not shut from Lu Yunye’s late-night entrance.

Shi Yi opened the window and looked out. The windows next door were also wide open. The distance between the two rooms is by no means close. If Lu Yunye accidentally slipped down…

His room is a full three stories high, and below them is solid concrete. Even if Lu Yunye is made of iron, falling from such a height has consequences.

“Why are you in such a hurry?” He muttered in a low voice. After a night of digestion, he slowly accepted the fact that Lu Yunye is Little Pinecone.

The same warm embrace, large palms, and undisguised eagerness… It turns out that he was attracted by this cold-looking alpha more than ten years ago.

What surprised him even more is that Lu Yunye has been looking for him all these years.

Shi Yi suddenly felt a little sorry for forgetting about the promise to be together. He remembered the jade ring that Lu Yunye refused to give to him when he was in the susceptible period; it was what he had given to Little Pinecone many years ago.

It’s obvious that he is the property’s original owner, but Lu Yunye even refused to even show it to him. How stingy.

Despite his thoughts, Shi Yi leaned down, and kissed the alpha’s eyes, nose, all the way to his lips, and when he raised his head again, there was a smile on the corner of his mouth. When he finished, there was only one thought in his mind: let’s see how long you can pretend.

After Shi Yi finished, he stood up contentedly. Only then did the morning glow peek in. In the early morning, the seaside seemed to be covered with a layer of greyish-blue fog.

Shi Yi left the room quietly after washing up, and stepped into a mass of softness under the sun. The beach was extremely quiet, only the sound of waves lapping on the shore was heard, as if the noise from last night had never happened.

The seaside here is not fully developed. Several fishing boats were moored not far away, and there are many reefs nearby. Hearing the water churning, Shi Yi couldn’t help walking a little further. There was a loud splash, and someone jumped out of the water, stretching a hand to the side of the boat.

It should be a local fisherman. His skin is tanned, but his face is very young. Under the morning sun, his face is particularly sharp and angular and his wet braid hung half over his shoulders. When he smiles, one can see two rows of bright white teeth.

Shi Yi watched curiously for a while, and the man actually waved at him: “Hi, beauty!”

The distance is too far, so he couldn’t see the other party too clearly. Just as Shi Yi was about to leave, he saw the other party lift up the object in his hand – a palm-sized shell.

Continuing to float in the water, he took out a sharp knife from the leather pocket at his waist, skillfully inserted it into the gap between the shells, and pried it open. After digging his fingers inside, he unexpectedly pulled out a brilliant white pearl.

Wow! Shi Yi couldn’t help applauding. As if it inspired him, the young man inhaled and dived, swung his arms two or three times, swam over in an instant, and handed the things in his hand to Shi Yi: “Here you go.”

Shi Yi had an intuition that he couldn’t ask for other people’s things, but that didn’t diminish his liking for it. The pearl was of good color, large and round, with a smooth surface – perfect for making cufflinks for Lu Yunye, and could suppress his fierce aura.

“How about I buy it from you?” Shi Yi discussed.

“This pearl is meant to be given to a prince,” the young man glibly said. “It’s an honor to give it to you.”

Before Shi Yi could react, someone grabbed his shoulders, and a deep voice sounded from above his head: “Take back your crap.”

Shi Yi raised his head subconsciously: “Lu Yunye?”

“You’re awake?”

“En, I woke up because you weren’t around.” Lu Yunye kissed him on the forehead, his eyes haughty and sharp, like a wolfhound declaring its sovereignty.

His childish behavior dumbfounded Shi Yi. He was like a jealous big dog, running to his master to go pee before going on.

The young man curled his lips into a smile, and blinked at Shi Yi: “Do you want more pearls?”

“No need for now…” Shi Yi just wanted to drag him away as quickly as possible.

“After being rejected by the prince, it will have to be buried in the sea.” The young man threw the pearl into the sea, then dove back into the water. When he surfaced again, he was a few meters away. “I can find even better ones!”

The alpha caught the pity that flashed in his eyes, “You like it very much?”

“No…” Shi Yi was about to refuse when he saw the person around him tear off his shirt and dive into the water.

“Lu Yunye!”

Even in the warm south, the seawater in winter is only about 20 degrees[mfn]Celcius, akin to room temperature. For reference; most pools are closer to body temperature[/mfn]. The locals who live here year round are used to it, but how can Lu Yunye compare with others?

Shi Yi walked forward until the waves wet his pants, but in the blink of an eye, Lu Yunye had already swam ten meters away.

Because the beaches here are only semi-developed, free-diving fishermen often swim nearby in search of pearls.

Shi Yi ran to a high reef, only to see both of them diving into the water from a distance.

The sun has crept above sea level, illuminating the clear, sparkling seawater.

The young fisherman popped his head out to breathe, but Lu Yunye still hadn’t come up. Shi Yi was so anxious that his legs were trembling. He might’ve cramped up, gotten stuck on the reef, encountered an undercurrent… There were too many possibilities. Shi Yi didn’t dare think, and even the air he inhaled was a little cooler.

Finally, when Lu Yunye surfaced, Shi Yi shouted: “Lu Yunye! Come back!”

The other party turned a deaf ear. After wiping the water off his face, he breathed and dived down again, this time swimming farther.

Shi Yi ran down the reef and found another place with a good view. His eyes were red from worry that he didn’t notice his calf being scratched by the rocks.

Lu Yunye has already swam to the deep water area where the locals rarely go. Only occasionally will professional instructors venture over. The young man climbed onto a fishing boat resentfully, and threw the shells in his hand on the plywood, embarrassed at making a fool of himself again.

Eyes wide open, Shi Yi stared hard, for fear of missing something. Amidst the sea and sky in his eyes, Lu Yunye started to swim back – he was probably tired, and his speed was much slower.

Gradually the soles of his feet could touch the soft sand, and Lu Yunye returned to the shore with a sea clam as long as a forearm under his arm.

Breathing hard, he stroked his wet hair back, dripping water all over his body. His muscles were tense from the cold water, and the veins on his forearms revealed pure raw power.

“This is definitely better than his!” Lu Yunye found a rock at random, struck the clam shell with a sharp point and pried it hard. The tender white flesh spit out juice, and finally a pearl was removed.

It was really big and smooth, and the shiny surface overflowed with iridescence. But Shi Yi’s hand was trembling, and couldn’t grasp it at all.

Finally realizing that something was wrong, Lu Yunye carefully asked, “Don’t you like it?”

Shi Yi snatched the pearl over, held it tightly in his hand, and finally scolded, “Can you not take risks all the time!”

“Can you not open the window? And don’t swim in such dangerous places!” Shi Yi was terrified, and couldn’t hold back anymore. His teary voice was so loud, it was almost hoarse.

Because he didn’t know what he should do if something happened to Lu Yunye.

Lu Yunye had never seen him react like this before, and was at a loss for what to do.

“I liked his pearls because I thought they were suitable for making cufflinks for you, not for you to risk yourself!”

“I didn’t ask for pearls just now; I just wanted you to come back. Why didn’t you come back!”

“You still have to ask me if I like it, how could I not like it! I like everything about you! Even if you’re a liar, I like you!”

Shi Yi panted heavily, and said the last sentence: “Did you hear that?”

From when was born until now, no one has ever yelled at Lu Yunye like this before. His performance in the army was excellent, he wields great power in the company, and everyone in his family treats him with three points of fear and respect… This was the first time such a thing happened, and he could only dully nod and say: “I heard.”

Shi Yi turned around and left, holding the pearl in icy hold hands. After a few steps, the alpha finally recovered his wits and chased up to him.

“What else do you want… um!”

The kiss was very cold, tinged with the saltiness of sea water, and the embrace was not warm at all. It even made him wet, but Shi Yi was still addicted to this kiss. Cedar pheromones gradually wrapped him up, forcibly relaxing his frightened brain.

He heard the heavy voice reassure him: “I’m sorry, I won’t do this in the future.”

Dazed, Shi Yi let the other party take the lead. Lu Yunye took his hand and strode forward.

Seeing that he was getting farther and farther away from the B&B, Shi Yi finally asked, “Where are we going?”

“Somewhere where there are no people.”

Lu Yunye rented a car, stuffed Shi Yi into the passenger side, pressed the accelerator, and left the ocean behind.

There are many winding mountain roads on the island. The car tilted a little when turning – the traction of an ordinary off-road vehicle is not strong enough, causing it to drift a little. Shi Yi could only subconsciously grab the handrail in fear.

Lu Yunye didn’t speak the whole time. His upper body was still naked, and the air pressure surrounding him was terribly low. He held the steering wheel tightly, and his solid muscles controlled the car to gallop over the winding mountain road.

Only Lu Yunye knew that he was trying his best to restrain himself. From seeing the boy on the fishing boat showing his favor to Shi Yi, to when Shi Yi lost control and yelled at him, even deafening him with a confession on the beach in the early morning. His instincts were screaming for him to mark this person and take him as his own.

Chest rising and falling violently, he exhaled a scorching breath. Lu Yunye lowered the window of the car, allowing the clear morning breeze to caress his swollen mind, but it didn’t calm him down.

Shi Yi saw his red eyes, and felt like he was prey in a cage.

Suddenly, he was a little scared. Where is Lu Yunye going?

The steering wheel was slammed to the right, the car deviated from the road, and turned onto the potholed mountain road. They finally stopped with a sudden brake, and there was no road behind.

The mountain was bare, rocks were eroded into strange shapes by the sea breeze, and the road ahead was hard to traverse. After getting out of the car, Lu Yunye immediately hugged Shi Yi. There was still moisture on his skin, carrying his pheromones and a heavily masculine scent.

Shi Yi held his breath and let the other party bring him to the top of the cliff. The wind howled, the waves smashed against the rocks, and even the fishing boats in the distance were insignificant in the distance.

He lost control – Shi Yi’s heart skipped a beat.

Even when Lu Yunye was at his craziest susceptibility period, he never had such thoughts.

Feeling the nearing breath approaching, Shi Yi bit his lower lip nervously, but saw the other party kneel down on one knee, on a piece of rough rock.

There was no auditorium, no ring, and no more witnesses. Lu Yunye held up his hand firmly and placed it on his chest, “Will you marry me?”

His voice was very soft, but firm, and it was not blown away by the howling wind. Shi Yi could clearly hear his words, one at a time.

Shi Yi felt his heart beating so fast that it was almost one smooth rhythm. When he spoke, his voice trembled, and he could only say: “…you don’t have a ring.”

“I have a pearl,” Lu Yunye said eagerly as he held the huge and plump sphere. “The ring is not finished yet, I only have one pearl now… Do you like it?”

Shi Yi thought that he would be dizzy, confused, and at a loss, but no, his mind was sharp and his thinking was lucid, yet he was still coaxed with a pearl. He even forgot all about manners and etiquette.

“I am willing.” He enunciated every word without hesitation. Fearing that his words would be blown away by the sea breeze, he repeated, “I am willing to be with you forever.”

There is some part of these and the next chapter that aren’t as well written admittedly; slightly falls into the rushed ending trap most LNs have
