BMHS Chapter 050.3

The two patriarchs of the families came and went in a hurry, but once they got home, there probably won’t be a moment of peace for either family.

Gu Lang came downstairs, Yan Sui went back to his room to bring Meng Ting out, Meng Qi left after the Old Master Meng left, and Zhong Ming and Zhen Han took a walk on the lawn, planning to stay for dinner before leaving.

Meng Ting didn’t do much when he returned to his room. Dahuang and Maoqiu kept him company. He sat on the sofa, hugging a pillow and staring blankly. Yesterday’s incident still had an effect on him, but it wasn’t all negative. Right now, he just wanted some time to think alone. Yan Sui noticed it and gave it to him.

However, he still requested to let Dahuang and Maoqiu come in. Meng Ting understood his concern and allowed it.

Yan Sui came in, and Meng Ting was still lost in his own thoughts and didn’t notice. It wasn’t until Yan Sui hugged his shoulders and kissed his cheek that he gradually came back to his senses.

“Is it settled?”

“Yes,” Yan Sui straightened up, walked to Meng Ting’s side, sat down, and then guided Meng Ting’s shoulder, making him turn to the side.

“I won’t let them off.”

Sending them directly to the police station would be too easy for them. Only by doing it step by step can they feel a little bit of the suffering Meng Ting had gone through. Although it is not enough, but if he uses ordinary means, he will not be the Yan Sui that so many people fear.

Meng Ting had no doubt about this. Meng Xiao and Su Siyu were naturally detestable, but with Yan Sui helping him, he didn’t want to waste any more thought on them. After all, they were all people he hated the most.

“I want to… sever ties with the Meng family,” this is what Meng Ting was thinking just now. He raised his eyes to look at Yan Sui, with some hesitation in his eyes. The marriage between the two families involved mutual benefits and interests. He didn’t know whether his request would bring losses to Yan Sui and the Yan family.

“I will work hard to make money, and I will give you all the money I earn in the future.”

Meng Ting was not sure how much he could earn from his perfume, but he would give Yan Sui whatever he could earn.

Yan Sui’s brows slightly raised, but he was somewhat reluctant to refuse Meng Ting’s kind intentions. After a moment of thought, he nodded and said, “Alright, I’ll wait for you to earn money for me.”

As for severing ties with the Meng family, even if Meng Ting didn’t mention it, he was already preparing for it.

“Leave those to me. Your current task is to take good care of your health and study hard, so you can earn money for me.”

Meng Ting nodded in agreement upon hearing this, “you’re right.”

“I want to earn a lot and a lot of money for you.”

Yan Sui looked at Meng Ting, who had suddenly become obsessed with money, and couldn’t help but lean down to kiss his lips. His wife was becoming more and more adorable.

Meng Ting’s eyes widened slightly, then gradually narrowed, responding to Yan Sui’s somewhat sudden kiss, and then this originally gentle kiss became intense.

It was half an hour later that they went downstairs. Nanny Wang’s cooking skills were as good as ever, and with Meng Ting, who loved to eat, taking the lead, everyone ate more than usual. After finishing the meal, they chatted with Yan Sui for a while before leaving.

But they just went home separately, still communicating with each other about the progress of this matter.

Old Master Su returned home in a fit of rage, ran into Su Siyu’s father, berated him, and then ordered him to bring Su Siyu back because he intended to use the family rules[mfn]家法 (jiā fǎ): (archaic) rod or stick for punishing servants or younger family members; domestic discipline; way of doing something that is passed down generation to generation in a family; family custom or tradition; family rules; the rules and discipline that apply within a family; traditions of an artistic or academic school of thought, passed on from master to pupil; domestic discipline exercised by the head of a feudal household; a kind of norm that regulates the personal and property relations of family members or members within a family.[/mfn].

The Su family hadn’t enforced their family rules for decades, and this sudden decision even startled Old Lady Su. After understanding the reason, she had nothing more to say. She had warned Su Siyu long ago, but he didn’t listen to her advice.

But what was even more unexpected to them was that Su Siyu’s father, who said he was going to call Su Siyu back, actually tipped him off instead. He had Su Siyu hide elsewhere, almost giving Old Master Su a heart attack from anger.

The Meng family was much more straightforward and decisive than the Su family. When he returned to the old house, he had Uncle Wen call back the people from both houses and publicly announced the matters of Meng Xiao harming Meng Ting and Meng Qi. Meng Xiao being expelled from the Meng family was already one of the predetermined punishments.

The reason why Old Master Meng called the people back was not to discuss how to punish Meng Xiao, but how to give an explanation to Yan Sui and the Yan family.

When Li Yifei heard Old Master Meng’s words, the veins on her forehead throbbed, and she looked at Meng Xiao with a sinister and strange gaze. Meng Xiao shivered involuntarily. He had learned some things about Meng Ting from Li Li Yifei. Although it was not much, but he had remembered them and even made use of it. However, this undoubtedly violated Li Yifei’s taboos, especially since he had failed and exposed himself.

When Old Master Meng was speaking, he was observing everyone, and so was Meng Qi. Especially since he knew that Li Yifei had once used Wu Fengjiao to abuse Meng Ting, he naturally focused on observing her. How could he not notice the way she looked at Meng Xiao?

She thought she was hiding it well, but in the end, she let the cat out of the bag.

Meng Qi pondered for a moment, and suddenly it struck him—could it be that Meng Ting is allergic to the sedative, and the mastermind behind this is also Li Yifei? As his biological grandmother, how could she be so ruthless to Meng Ting? Meng Qi really couldn’t make sense of it.

“Brother Jia, do you think it would be better if we asked Meng Ting to intercede for us?”

Li Yifei slightly turned her head to speak to Old Master Meng. She was indeed very good at understanding people’s thoughts. Her words expressed Old Master Meng’s true feelings. However, as the patriarch of the family, it wasn’t very appropriate for Old Master Meng to bring this up, since Meng Ting is still considered his junior.

Feng Zejiao cast a lingering glance at Li Yifei, originally wanting to speak up, but was stopped by Meng Qi who patted her shoulder. She took a deep breath and remained silent.

Originally, according to her idea, Meng Xiao was considered as a member of the second house. He wanted to harm Meng Qi, so he had to give an explanation not only to Meng Ting and the Yan family, but also to main house. After all, Meng Qi is the most legitimate heir to the Meng family’s patriarch of the younger generation. However, Old Master Meng’s heart was biased; he hadn’t mentioned this at all since he started speaking.

Feng Zejiao is not someone who can easily endure grievances, but she is not without her own schemes. She had a good relationship with Meng Qi, and when he asked her not to speak up, she held back and truly managed to keep quiet.

Old Master Meng and Li Yifei discussed how to negotiate with Meng Ting, and then they dispersed.

This call was made by Meng Yide. How could he still be considered Meng Ting’s father? There was no foster care, but there was a biological connection. Generally speaking, Meng Ting would not refuse. However, when Meng Yide took out his phone, he froze. He did not have Meng Ting’s number. How could he call?

He left the room and found Uncle Wen, and only then was he able to get through to the phone at the Yan family’s old house.

The phone in the Yan family’s living room is basically just a decoration; occasionally, Uncle Xiao and Nanny Wang would use it, but if there was something urgent, they would just call their mobile phones directly. Suddenly, the phone rang with a ‘ding-ling-ling’, startling Dahuang, who was lying by Meng Ting’s feet. “Woof woof woof!”

Maoqiu also let out a soft ‘meow’.

Meng Ting was sitting in the living room watching TV with Maoqiu in his arms. He was watching very intently, but when it suddenly rang, he was startled. Yan Sui had just gone back to the study for something, Uncle Xiao and Nanny Wang were not in the living room, and the other servants rarely came out after the evening.

Meng Ting first calmed Dahuang, hesitated for a moment, and then answered the phone.

“Hello?”

“I’m looking for Meng Ting, your lady of the house.” Meng Yide didn’t recognize Meng Ting’s voice, and his tone was somewhat agitated. After all, he was also Meng Ting’s elder, and he felt embarrassed to be the one asking for a favor.

“It’s me, who are you?” Meng Ting’s voice remained unchanged; he still couldn’t tell who was on the other end of the line.

“I’m your father,” Meng Yide realized that his tone was a bit too aggressive after he said that. He took his phone and walked into the garden of the Meng residence, his expression becoming somewhat dazed. He thought of Yu Meixuan, the woman who had once loved him wholeheartedly.

To be honest, Meng Ting doesn’t resemble Yu Meixuan, nor does he resemble him much, but after all, he is the product of their relationship. When Meng Yide thinks of this, his mood naturally fluctuates.

Meng Ting pressed his lips together and didn’t respond. After a brief silence, Meng Yide continued speaking.

“I already know what happened in the Gu family the day before yesterday. Meng Xiao will get the punishment he deserves, but I hope Yan Sui doesn’t have any misunderstandings about the Meng family. After all, you also came from the Meng family. If the Meng family is doing well, you…”

Before he could finish his words, a dog suddenly barked over the phone, “Woof woof!” and it sounded quite fierce.

Meng Yide was speaking with great emotion when he was suddenly dumbfounded. “Meng Ting?”

“Woof woof!”

“Meng Ting? Where did you leave your phone?”

“Woof woof woof!”

“Dahuang, be good, stop barking, he doesn’t understand.”

“Woof woof woof!”

Then there was another round of chaotic conversation, Meng Yide was very angry, and only then did a human voice come through the phone.

“Hello.”

“Meng Ting, what are you doing?”

“Third Mr. Meng, is it?” Yan Sui looked at Meng Ting with a hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth, then reached out to rub Dahuang’s head to express his praise.

Dahuang let out a grunt and finally stopped barking. It was probably frightened by the human voice coming from the telephone receiver, so it barked like that. Later, because Meng Yide’s voice became more and more fierce, Dahuang also became more and more fierce.

“Yan…Master Yan,” Meng Yide would never have thought that making a phone call would test his patience so much. He couldn’t change his tone all of a sudden and almost made things worse again.

“Do you have something to talk to Meng Ting about?” Yan Sui saw Meng Ting move to another spot, so he sat down as well, and then Meng Ting automatically leaned on his shoulder.

Meng Ting looked at Yan Sui and saw that he was smiling at him, but his voice was still cold. Feeling a little bit novel, he leaned in closer and kissed him on the cheek, trying not to make any sound.

Yan Sui stopped rubbing Dahuang; he embraced Meng Ting and continued the phone call in that position.

“No…thing. It’s just that I suddenly remembered that I don’t have Meng Ting’s phone number. We haven’t been in touch for so long, so I wanted to ask about his recent situation.”

“Third Mr. Meng, you still don’t know? Meng Ting was drugged by Meng Xiao; he needs to rest well for the next few days.”

Yan Sui’s voice remained cold, and Meng Yide on the other end broke out in a cold sweat. Yan Sui then said, “Third Mr. Meng called me. Have you already thought about what explanation you are going to give to Meng Ting and my Yan family? Yan Sui is all ears.”

Meng Yide was sweating even more; it was really hard to answer this question. He stammered, it was the first time he faced the imposing presence of Yan Sui, the patriarch of the Yan family. He was somewhat overwhelmed and, in the end, didn’t say much, just wanting to end the call as soon as possible.

“By the way, Meng Ting needs to rest quietly lately. If Third Mr. Meng has any matters, just call me directly.”

“Oh… okay, okay.”

Yan Sui put down the phone, and Meng Ting leaned in to kiss Yan Sui’s lips again. His eyes were filled with laughter; it felt particularly good to have someone helping to annoy others.

“I did that on purpose just now,” Meng Ting said as he deliberately gave the telephone receiver to Dahuang to play with. Meng Ting said this and leaned toward Yan Sui again.

“Mm, I also did it on purpose,” he said this deliberately to scare Meng Yide.

Yan Sui responded, pressed the back of Meng Ting’s neck, and gave him a deep, wet, and sweet kiss.
