Chapter 18.2:
The new bedroom had accumulated a layer of dust from being unoccupied for so long, but there wasn’t much to organize. After half an hour of work, it was finally cleaned up. Lian Xi carefully stared at the diffuse golden light that surrounded a certain man’s body, however, none of the golden light was willing to do him the honor and run over to him!
Fine, I’ve done it for nothing.
Lian Xi began to think about how to trick the golden light.
After a busy half day, until 1pm, everyone finally had time to order takeout.
Half an hour later, the takeout arrived at home.
Lian Xi: “Time to witness a miracle!”
Su Jiao: “Ha ha ha ha let’s see what kind of bug it is this time!”
Lian Xi: “Huh.”
Su Jiao: “Flies! Flies! Flies!”
Lian Xi: “……”
You accumulate some virtue!
Glaring fiercely at his short roommate, Lian Xi was cloudy on the surface, but his slightly trembling fingers exposed his not-so-peaceful mind. He took a deep breath and slowly opened his shredded meat-veggie-rice combo (rice served with meat and vegetables on top). With a click, the rice box opened, and a rich fragrance of vegetables and rice drilled into his nostrils, making his fingers tingle.
However, not a single person moved their chopsticks.
Su Jiao rubbed his fists and took pleasure in (or gloated over) other people’s misfortune.
Lian Xi looked at look upon death like going home—look death calmly in the face with pursed lips. He did not eat immediately. Taking out a bowl, Lian Xi very calmly began to pluck the rice. Layer by layer, he plucked the rice from the fast food box to the bowl, scrutinizing whether any bugs or hairs had fallen inside.
The short three minutes were as long as a year!
Three minutes later.
Su Jiao: “Fuck? Where are the flies?”
Lian Xi looked at the two spots of golden light slowly dissipating between his fingers, and suddenly his nose turned sour.
This is the fucking takeout that people should eat!
Since helping Liu Lang to retrieve his own body, for three consecutive days, Lian Xi had been eating bug takeout for three consecutive days!
At first, the short roommate also helped him with righteous indignation, but later, guessing what bugs Lian Xi will eat today has become Su Jiao’s daily routine.
The short roommate paralyzed on the chair: “Ye Qing Jie (Master Green knot)!” Lian Xi doesn’t eat bugs anymore, Ye Qing Jie!
[It is a popular Internet term that mostly means that a favorite thing or concern of one’s own has come to an end and is no more.Such people are also known as green knot workers.]
Lian Xi sneered, “You be a person ba!”
In the restaurant, the two young men spit at each other.
Without the daily must-see bug drama, Su Jiao suddenly felt that the bowl of rice in front of him didn’t seem to be that tasty anymore, and listlessly began to eat. Lian Xi, however, did not eat immediately.
He took a bowl of boxed rice and got up to walk towards the bedroom.
Su Jiao looked up at him, deflated his mouth, and muttered in a low voice, “Henchman.”
The lackey man walked to Lord Black Impermanence’s bedroom and knocked on the door.
Standing by the window, looking down at the hands of Wu Chang certificate man abruptly turned back, silently staring at a moment, the man faintly said: “What’s the matter?”
Lian Xi walked into the room, “I don’t know what you like to eat, so I ordered a random lunch for you.” After placing the boxed lunch on the table, Lian Xi suddenly remembered something,Er…do you eat?”
Lie Chen looked at him fixedly, and after a moment, he smiled, “Put it on.”
Three golden lights leapt to Lian Xi.
Lian Xi: “!”
His mood instantly improved, the youth smiled and said, “Eat it while it’s hot.”
Lie Chen softly hmmmed, but he didn’t eat right away, instead he continued to turn his head and look out the window.
As he left the room, Lian Xi stood in front of the door and, for some reason, stopped in his tracks.
He looked at the man’s back figure.
The brilliant and bright daylight shone through the glass and shone on the man, but there was something out of place and really strange. The cold, dark color of the man’s short, fine hair was a perfect match, and he stood there in silence, his body overflowing with endless silence and dreary.
After a few seconds of silence, Lian Xi raised his steps and walked towards the restaurant.
These had nothing to do with him.
Lian Xi didn’t know that after he left, Lie Chen turned his head and glanced at him lightly. Then, the line of sight turned to the boxed lunch on the table.
…. Happy to help?
Oooh.

The next morning, when Su Jiao went to class, Lian Xi and Lie Zong stood in front of the door.
Lie Zong stood with his hands in his pockets.
Lian Xi quietly looked through the peephole (in a door), observing the movements of the family across the street.
After watching for a few minutes, Lian Xi suddenly said, “It’s coming out!”
The next moment, only heard a crisp closing sound, through the peephole, Lian Xi saw the young guy wearing a T-shirt and short pants, humming a little song and going downstairs at a brisk pace.
When he got on the elevator, Lian Xi immediately opened the door, “Let’s follow him!”
Without delay, this matter needs immediate attention, two of them also followed closely and got on another elevator. When Lian Xi and the two of them arrived at the first floor, the guy at the opposite door had just left the estate.
It was still possible to catch up!
The two hurriedly followed.
Not bad, the three of them discussed for a long time last night, and finally Lian Xi formulated a plan, “Tail behind and see what the neighbor across the street is actually doing every day!”
The short roommate couldn’t participate in the plan because he was in class. But Lian Xi and Lord Ghostbuster had plenty of time.
Lian Xi thought, “That guy across the street seems to go out and buy breakfast for his roommate every day.”
Thus, there was the current scene where the two of them, Lian Xi and Lie Zong were stalking the young little guy.
In fact, before Lie Zong came, Lian Xi and Su Jiao had wondered why the young man across the street went out every day to buy breakfast for his roommate.
There was nothing wrong with buying breakfast, and there was even less wrong with buying breakfast for their roommate. But the problem is: every, single, day!
In the days when takeout apps are so advanced, very few people go out to buy dinner every day. And it was still in the hot August summer!
But Lian Xi and Su Jiao didn’t end up discussing a single thing, and could only reluctantly conclude, “People like to go out in the morning and get some fresh air.”
Now if I look at it, maybe it wasn’t that simple.
When you leave your neighbourhood, turn left and walk down a street, you will find a neighbourhood centre.
At eight o’clock in the morning, the hurried commuters, one by one carrying their bags, walk quickly towards the bus stop. The refreshing late-summer breeze and the delicate rosebuds on both sides of the road fail to attract their attention at all, and they seem to be like clockwork gears hurrying down the road towards their daily routes and destinies.
In the midst of such a crowd, the boy across the street seemed to be doing a minority retrograde.
He walked against the crowd, humming happily, towards an old commercial street next to the neighbourhood centre.
Before they even walked into the old street, Lian Xi and Lie Chen smelled the aroma of buns and deep fried breadsticks.
Lian Xi froze slightly.
This was his first time here as well.
Contemporary young people relied on takeaways to get by, and it had been more than a month since they moved into their new home, but Lian Xi had never gone downstairs to take a stroll. He had only been to the Neighbourhood Centre once, and had completely missed the fact that there was this old street next to it.
The neighbourhood centre was only built last year, but this old street seemed to have some history. Perhaps it was built together with the neighbourhood.
Walking into the old street, Lian Xi found that it seemed to be mostly eating places or restaurants.
One by one, the shops were old, with yellowed and old shop sign boards.
They are not big chain shops, they are all small shops run by their own families, making simple food and greeting the neighbours. In the morning, they made buns and deep fried breadsticks, but at noon it changed to selling ready meals. At night, they move the tables and chairs outside the door, and then get a super-powerful fan, which is the open-air latenight snack stalls.
The opposite door boy, familiar with the way to a bun shop, laughed as he said: “Twenty youtiao (deep-fried breadsticks), eight cups of soya milk, and then three meat buns!”
“Okay!”
