WTDWPK Chapter 27

Sold Out by a Fan

When Fu Yuqian was holding Song Yu, preparing to sleep, his phone suddenly rang. He picked it up and saw that it was Ying Qi calling.

As soon as he answered, he heard Ying Qi speaking in a hushed, almost conspiratorial tone:
“Old Fu, I need to ask you something.”

“What is it?”

“Is your brother under a lot of pressure lately?” Ying Qi asked miserably, sitting on the toilet while seeking help from his childhood friend. “He suddenly confessed to me today and told me to give him an answer by tomorrow morning. I was so shocked I froze.”

There was something he hadn’t mentioned yet—when Fu Yuting was holding him earlier, he had felt something pressing against him. He had instinctively tried to back away, but Fu Yuting had held him down and warned him that if he moved again, he couldn’t guarantee what might happen.

They were both adults—who wouldn’t understand that line? Ying Qi had no choice but to chicken out and say he needed to use the bathroom. The moment he locked the door, he immediately called Fu Yuqian.

Song Yu was also curious and perked his ears up high to listen.

“Big Bro has had a crush on you for years,” Fu Yuqian said. “Probably since you guys used to sleep together as kids. Remember that time he had an allergic reaction and you cried in panic? After that, he started paying special attention to you. As for when exactly his feelings changed, I’m not sure. But the whole family knows. My guess is that he finally confessed because he was triggered by that streaking video you posted.”

Ying Qi gritted his teeth. “You sneaky bastard! I knew something was off when you made me take that bet. So this was your real motive!”

“Big Bro’s a good catch. You should consider it,” Fu Yuqian said, sensing that Ying Qi wasn’t actually disgusted—otherwise, he wouldn’t have reacted this way. So, he seized the opportunity to persuade him further. “Besides, you’re not getting any younger. If you two are going to end up together eventually, why waste time? Might as well start your happy life sooner.”

The way he emphasized happy was impossible to miss.

Ying Qi: “……” He was just too thin-skinned for this.

Frustrated, he hung up the phone.

Fu Yuqian wasn’t surprised. He turned off his phone and set it aside before pulling Song Yu, who had a complicated expression, into his arms. “Yiyi, I think if two people like each other, they should just be together. Otherwise, when they get old, they’ll regret wasting time and missing out on years of being a couple. Don’t you think?”

Song Yu: “……” He realized he still hadn’t fully grasped the depths of Fu Yuqian’s shamelessness.

But, to be fair, what he said did make some sense.

Song Yu covered his face with his paws, feeling both mentally and physically drained.

Meanwhile, Ying Qi took a few deep breaths to calm himself. Fu Yuqian being shameless isn’t a new thing, but I didn’t expect him to be THIS shameless!

After mentally preparing himself, he stepped out of the bathroom. The bedside lamp was still on, and Fu Yuting looked up at him. “Finished calling Lao San?”

“How did you know I called him…?” Ying Qi trailed off. Considering how smart the Fu family members were, it wasn’t surprising that Fu Yuting had guessed. He braced himself and asked, “Old Fu said… he said you’ve liked me for a long time.”

“It’s true,” Fu Yuting said, his expression calm and composed but his feelings completely sincere. “I’ve liked how you depended on me when we were little, how you always cared about me, and, most of all, I like you—as a person.”

Ying Qi’s face felt hot as he lowered his head. “But I never considered this before, so… Brother Fu, give me some time.”

“Alright.” Fu Yuting’s deep, ink-colored eyes were filled with tenderness. “But don’t make me wait too long. After all, I’m not young anymore.”

Ying Qi instantly recalled what Fu Yuqian had said to him before, making his face burn even more. Although he knew Fu Yuting’s words didn’t carry the same meaning, he couldn’t help but have the phrase “happy life” looping in his head, completely brainwashed.

Fu Yuting was puzzled. “Why are you still standing there? It’s getting late.”

“Alright.” Ying Qi braced himself and climbed onto the bed. The moment he touched it, he was kissed, and a large hand found its way to a sensitive spot. Fu Yuting’s low voice whispered, “Just feel it. Relax. I won’t go all the way.”

Ying Qi wanted to cry.

No one in the Fu family was decent.

On New Year’s Eve, Fu Yuqian announced he would be filming a web drama. The Qian Qian fans were thrilled—after all, Fu Yuqian rarely had work. Though they could replay his New Year’s Eve performance endlessly, they still wanted more. So, they flocked to Yin Lang, asking what projects Fu Yuqian had lined up.

It was around this time that the official Weibo of Tyrant’s Beloved announced the cast and even tagged Fu Yuqian.

Fu Yuqian immediately reposted it, captioning it with “Looking forward to working together,” and—shockingly—added a smiley emoji.

The Qian Qian fans erupted into chaos, splitting into factions.

【Wake up, hubby! Why are you taking on a third-rate web drama when you’re so popular?! Have some standards! If you’re going to do a same-sex role, at least choose an artsy film with award potential. Why this?!】

【Aaaaahhh, it’s a danmei drama! A danmei drama!! Grandma, your beloved Fu Yuqian is acting in a danmei drama!】

【I seriously don’t get it. Does Fu Yuqian not care about his fans’ feelings? How does someone this reckless have so many fans?!】

【An award-worthy film? You lead fans sure think highly of your idol. With his acting skills, even throwing money at it wouldn’t guarantee a role.】

The comments were a mess, but as usual, Fu Yuqian didn’t respond. However, since haters and paid trolls jumped in, the lead fans had to abandon the argument and focus on damage control.

Regardless, the news still trended, drawing widespread attention. The drama’s official Weibo account gained hundreds of thousands of followers in a single day.

In the Pisces Super Topic, the Pisces fans were in distress.

“What do we do? Fu Yuqian is taking on a BL drama. What about our Pisces ship?!”

Although they had hoped Song Yu could also join the project, he was still in a coma. Even if he woke up, there was no way he and Fu Yuqian would end up in the same cast.

Were they destined to graduate from this ship? No, absolutely not.

After carefully reading the announcement, they learned that Fu Yuqian would play the dominant role, Leng Yunlin, while the submissive role, Fu Qingyu, would be played by Tang Jiayan, a student from the Film Academy. His Weibo was filled with candid photos, giving him a fresh and handsome vibe. He and Fu Yuqian looked like they had CP potential.

Some Pisces fans initially wanted to leave comments warning Tang Jiayan not to stir up CP hype, but the more rational big fans stopped them. They couldn’t be too vocal—antagonizing Fu Yuqian wouldn’t end well.

Just then, a paparazzo dropped a bombshell: Fu Yuqian had been spotted at Sheng’an Hospital.

This paparazzo had been lurking near Sheng’an for ages. Ever since Fu Yuqian’s victory over Xingyue, he had followed his instincts and staked out the area. Sure enough, his patience paid off—he even captured footage of Fu Yuqian visiting Sheng’an on New Year’s Eve.

However, he didn’t reveal everything on Weibo. He planned to use this scoop to extort a PR payout from Huacan. So, he only posted a single photo.

As speculation swirled—was Fu Yuqian sick? Visiting someone? Some even guessed he was there to see Song Yu—but the discussion didn’t explode since celebrities going to a well-known hospital wasn’t too unusual.

Soon, Huacan’s PR team contacted him, asking if he had more photos.

Smugly, the paparazzo sent them over. It was obvious—visiting a hospital on New Year’s Eve wasn’t about seeing a doctor.

When Huacan asked how much he wanted for exclusivity, he confidently demanded 20 million. The scoop was worth it.

To his surprise, Huacan replied that they would “consider it” and then hung up.

The paparazzo waited confidently. But no further calls came. Every time he tried calling back, the line was busy.

Furious at being played, he dumped the entire scoop online, claiming that Fu Yuqian had likely visited Song Yu.

Immediately, Fu Yuqian’s name shot to the top of the trending list as if the rankings were free.

No one had expected #Fu Yuqian Song Yu# to trend, yet seeing their names side by side didn’t feel out of place at all.

Lead fans and pisces fans were speechless. If Song Yu were awake, the two fandoms would be at each other’s throats. But since he had been in a coma for so long—and since Fu Yuqian had actively visited him—there was no appetite for war. The lead fans just wanted peace.

The pisces fans felt even more conflicted.

First, Fu Yuqian had helped Song Yu.

Second, he owned a cat that looked eerily like Song Yu. Recently, they had been obsessed with watching the cat, even making requests for certain poses, which Fu Yuqian always accommodated—proving he had a good heart.

Third, Fu Yuqian had not only visited Song Yu but had done so multiple times—even more than Xingyue had.

Once again, the wealthy and powerful Moon Goddess Yuehua stepped in, posting:

“Back when Song Yu’s little brother got into a car accident, Fu Yuqian’s orange cat got stuck in a fence and trended. We even cursed at him. But Fu Yuqian didn’t retaliate—he just let us vent. I have inside info: Huacan originally wanted to do PR, but Fu Yuqian said, ‘Song Yu treasures his fans. If they’re upset over his accident and need someone to blame, let them. I’ll take more projects later to make up for it.’ That’s why he accepted TOS magazine and the New Year’s Eve concert.

Now that we’re all obsessed with his cat, we can’t forget what happened back then.”

The pisces fans fell silent. Some even wanted to cry.

So, Fu Yuqian had already done so much for Song Yu behind the scenes…

This had to be true love, right?

And they couldn’t find a single reason to argue with Moon Goddess Yuehua.

With her reminder, the pisces fans began helping the lead fans fight off hate comments. The lead fans, in turn, noticed something else—Fu Yuqian actually cared about them and even took on extra work for their sake!

This little bit of sweetness instantly energized the Qian Qian fans, and they enthusiastically joined forces with the pisces fans. Once the internet calmed down, representatives from both fandoms entered a group chat.

Qian Qian fans: “How about… we make peace?”

Pisces fans: “I was just about to say the same thing. Let’s make peace.”

Qian Qian fans: “Our Ge did so much for Song Yu. When he wakes up, can you guys put in a good word? He listens to you the most.”

Pisces fans: “Don’t worry, leave it to us.”

And so, a truce was formed.

Upon receiving the news, Fu Yuqian happily picked up Song Yu and gave him two loud kisses. “Yiyi, after Auntie approved my pursuit, even Xiao Yu’s fans have changed their opinion of me.”

Having witnessed everything, Song Yu couldn’t help but suspect that the paparazzo had been arranged by Fu Yuqian.

Moreover, it seemed like his fans had just sold him out.
