APHMOLIR Chapter 3

I'd Rather Die.

Fu Mingxiu was buried under the blankets, leaving only his face exposed to catch his breath.

There was nothing left but the effort to breathe.

“System, I feel like I made a bad deal,” he said weakly, even his communication with the system was sluggish.

“Rest in peace.” The system, having been exposed to seven days and nights of static and noise, was very indifferent.

“I really want to go back a month and knock that person who was thinking with their lower half on the head,” Fu Mingxiu lamented in regret.

“Thinking about it carefully, I clearly had other ways to approach him, why did I have to use… that?”

“Because… selling your body is easier for you?” the system added casually. “Isn’t that your usual method?”

Fu Mingxiu: “……”

“Shut up.” Fu Mingxiu angrily cut off communication with the system.

By evening, Ye Qin finally returned.

Fu Mingxiu breathed a sigh of relief. His return meant that he still held some weight in this little wolf cub’s heart.

The plan could still proceed.

“If you hadn’t come back, I would have starved to death…” Fu Mingxiu still had no strength, which could be seen from the fact that he could only use weak ellipses instead of exclamation marks.

Ye Qin ignored Fu Mingxiu’s complaints. When he left in the morning, he had already injected a nutrient serum into Fu Mingxiu, enough to keep him going until now.

However, Fu Mingxiu didn’t know this—of course, Ye Qin wouldn’t tell him. So Fu Mingxiu was puzzled about why he hadn’t eaten in almost eight days but didn’t feel hungry at all.

Is Omega’s constitution really this strong?

Ye Qin casually threw a few nutrient serums from his spatial pocket onto the bed and said coldly, “Drink it yourself.”

The serums were left on the bed, and Fu Mingxiu, unable to get up due to his body’s condition, could only weakly prop himself up halfway and stretch his arm to try to reach the serums that were positioned around his knees.

… He couldn’t reach them.

Fu Mingxiu looked at Ye Qin wordlessly.

Ye Qin: “……”

“If you can’t reach it, then go hungry,” he said coldly.

Fu Mingxiu felt extremely wronged. “If an Omega doesn’t replenish enough nutrients after their heat cycle, they’ll get sick.”

And it could be a pretty serious illness.

After all, going through a heat cycle with seven days of intense exercise and no food is definitely exhausting.

Ye Qin looked at Fu Mingxiu for a long while, then finally picked up the nutrient serums and handed them to him.

Fu Mingxiu raised his hand to take the serums, but he didn’t open them to drink right away. He still looked at Ye Qin with a deep, unreadable gaze.

“If you don’t help me sit up, how am I supposed to drink? If I drink while lying down, it will spill all over the bed.”

Ye Qin looked at Fu Mingxiu with an expression as cold as ice.

Fu Mingxiu didn’t back down and met his gaze.

A silent battle of wills lasted for a while, until Ye Qin seemed too tired to argue with him and was about to help him sit up.

However, just as he lifted the blanket, his expression froze, and he immediately covered him back up.

His already icy face became even colder. He gritted his teeth and asked, “Why aren’t you wearing any clothes?”

This shameless man, with his body red and swollen, was lying there completely naked!

Ye Qin’s chest heaved violently as his mind replayed the pale chest covered with kiss marks and handprints, and the cherry-like swollen spots on it.

“I don’t even have the strength to sit up. How could I have the energy to put on clothes…” Fu Mingxiu rolled his eyes weakly.

“…Shameless.”

“???” Fu Mingxiu felt wronged.

“Where have you not seen me? Those marks, you’re the one who left them, now that you see them, you say I’m shameless??”

It was truly confusing.

However, looking at Ye Qin’s grim face, Fu Mingxiu chose to quietly drink the nutrient serum after being helped up.

The serum wasn’t great in taste, but it wasn’t hard to swallow, and it went down smoothly. However, due to some pain on his lips and chin, Fu Mingxiu drank slowly.

For a moment, the only sound in the room was the quiet swallowing of Fu Mingxiu.

After a few minutes, Ye Qin seemed impatient with Fu Mingxiu’s slow movements and directly asked, “What exactly is your goal?”

Fu Mingxiu paused in his drinking and looked at Ye Qin in surprise. “Didn’t I already say? To get closer to you.”

“Get closer to me, and then what?” Ye Qin looked down at him, “Then what do you want to do?”

“Did you come to seek peace, asking me to wipe away the past?” His tone was mocking.

Fu Mingxiu opened his mouth but suddenly didn’t know how to answer.

His purpose?

Of course, it was to atone for what he had done to Ye Qin.

But how could he express this purpose? In the beginning, it was he who hurt Ye Qin, and now he was here to atone—saying it out loud seemed insincere.

Moreover, with Ye Qin’s temperament, he wouldn’t accept this so-called “atonement” that sounded like charity.

Fu Mingxiu didn’t want to make the atmosphere too awkward, so after thinking for a while, he hesitated and nodded.

Ye Qin’s expression immediately darkened even further.

“I don’t know where General Fu’s confidence comes from, thinking I’ll just forgive you for the murder attempt.” His voice was slow, and he casually scanned Fu Mingxiu, his tone rising slightly, “You think it’s because of your body?”

Before Fu Mingxiu could respond, he continued, “No wonder you’re so confident. Although General Fu is an old alpha, after turning omega, you certainly know how to attract people.”

Fu Mingxiu: “……”

…How should I put it?

Although I’m a 28-year-old Alpha, I wouldn’t exactly say I’m old, right?

Isn’t the setting of this world one where the average lifespan is 300 years, and special humans can live to 500, 700, 800, or even 1,000 years?

Ye Qin’s tone shifted abruptly, and his expression grew cold and sinister. He lowered his voice and said, “But General Fu wouldn’t think that just because you came over to me once, I would forget about all those past events, right?”

Fu Mingxiu pressed his lips together.

He knew how much he had wronged Ye Qin. From Ye Qin’s perspective, he had schemed to deceive Ye Qin’s emotions, betrayed him, attempted to murder him, and tried to kill him.

If Ye Qin weren’t the protagonist, such a situation would have no chance of survival.

Although Fu Mingxiu was not the same as the original Fu Mingxiu of this world—he wasn’t part of the prince’s faction and was only here to complete a mission, and he knew that trying to kill Ye Qin wouldn’t result in Ye Qin’s death, but instead would give him the biggest advantage—there really wasn’t much of a fundamental difference.

That relationship back then was indeed a lie. At that time, Fu Mingxiu had been more like a heartless hunter.

Both situations were forms of deception and betrayal that were hard to accept.

Ye Qin noticed that the person who had just had a lively expression now suddenly had his eyes dimmed.

His throat tightened.

—Did I go too far?

This thought flashed through his mind but was quickly suppressed.

Ye Qin, wake up!

This person wants nothing more than for you to die. Are you going to soften up just because he sweet-talked you for a few days?

He sneered inwardly: And what did those few days even count as?

He thought about the days full of ecstasy over the past week—days that made him never want to think about anything else, almost wishing to stay tangled up with this person in bed forever. But after calming down and thinking it over, he realized it had just been a transaction and an act of pleasing.

Thinking this way, Ye Qin felt his boiling blood freeze instantly.

Ye Qin, Ye Qin, he wants you dead, so why are you so eager to humble yourself?

Lost in his thoughts, Ye Qin was suddenly brought back to reality by the actions of the person before him.

Fu Mingxiu reached out and grabbed his hand.

Ye Qin was standing beside Fu Mingxiu’s bed, but Fu Mingxiu had to bend slightly to grab Ye Qin’s hand. This small movement made his muscles and almost shattered bones ache, and what made it even harder to bear was a certain place that had been overexerted.

Fu Mingxiu’s eyes became clouded with water.

He bit his lip, trying hard to suppress the pain that shot through his brain with every small movement. Though he had grabbed Ye Qin’s hand, he still hadn’t spoken.

He needed a moment to compose himself; otherwise, when he spoke, his voice would crack, and that would be too embarrassing.

Unaware of the effect his actions were having on the man, Fu Mingxiu’s expression made Ye Qin nearly lose control.

The moment Omega’s hand grabbed his, the warm and soft touch made Ye Qin freeze, and now, looking at him like this, Ye Qin’s rationality was on the verge of breaking.

Fu Mingxiu took a long moment to recover. He lifted his gaze to meet Ye Qin’s eyes and said seriously, “If you think it’ll make you feel better, you can kill me.”

Fu Mingxiu could see that Ye Qin still had feelings for him, but if he were in Ye Qin’s position, even if he liked someone, he would never tolerate that kind of betrayal.

In fact, killing him would be letting him off easy, since he wouldn’t die. But if killing him would give Ye Qin closure, then it wouldn’t be too bad.

At that moment, a warning from the system echoed in Fu Mingxiu’s mind.

“Host! The mission requires you to gain the forgiveness of the target and spend your life with them. If you die now, the mission will be incomplete!” The system’s cold mechanical voice was especially sharp at that moment.

“Oh.” Fu Mingxiu responded nonchalantly, “What happens if I don’t complete the mission?”

“You will be stuck in this world, endlessly reincarnating. The world has been destroyed by the target, and you won’t even be able to survive in a complete timeline. You could fall into a space gap, also known as a time-space reflection, where everything is frozen at a single moment in time, and only your time keeps flowing.” The system was unusually serious. “Trust me, you would never want to live like that.”

“And then? Will I die?” Fu Mingxiu continued asking.

“Yes,” the system replied. “Your soul won’t survive long in the space gap—at most, it will disintegrate after ten years.”

“Can I choose to let my soul disintegrate?”

“…” The system suddenly realized Fu Mingxiu’s intentions and fell silent for a moment before answering honestly, “Yes. The system can help the host erase the soul.”

“Dying works for me,” Fu Mingxiu replied lazily. “I’ve long lost interest in your stupid mission.”

“Host! But…” The system tried to protest, but Fu Mingxiu was already too uninterested to respond.
