WTDWPK Chapter 29

Bed Pounce

Realizing that Song Yu was just feeling shy, Fu Yuqian had no choice but to let him calm down on his own. “Yiyi, my door is open. If you get scared at night, you can come find me anytime.”

“Meow!” Song Yu let out an annoyed meow—I’m not scared, just leave already!

Seeing himself being shooed away, Fu Yuqian had to retreat, but amusement danced in his eyes.

Song Yu knew that kissing Fu Yuqian wasn’t a big deal—it was just that he got shy. He hadn’t even agreed to Fu Yuqian’s pursuit yet, so how could he be so forward? It was all Fu Yuqian’s fault. Had Fu Yuqian and Yiyi often kissed before?

Narrowing his feline eyes, Song Yu felt that something wasn’t quite right.

He was… a little bothered by it.

Wait, am I actually this possessive? Song Yu was stunned by his own thoughts.

He covered his face with his paws in distress, but after thinking for a moment, he felt justified. It’s perfectly normal to feel possessive over someone I like—that just proves I’m manly. Besides, what’s wrong with me kissing my future boyfriend?

With that thought, his spirits lifted. He leaped lightly off the bed, tail held high, and sauntered toward Fu Yuqian’s bedroom. But in his heart, he made a mental note: Once I’m back in my own body, Yiyi can sleep in bed—but only on my side.

Fu Yuqian had already showered and dried his hair. He was reclining against the headboard, reading a script. A pair of gold-rimmed glasses softened his striking features. Dressed in a silk, light-gray robe that revealed a glimpse of his toned chest, he looked almost unreal.

Seeing Song Yu enter, Fu Yuqian set down his script and was about to get off the bed to pick him up, but Song Yu took a deep breath and let out a loud, commanding “Meow!”—Don’t move!

Fu Yuqian was startled. Though he was sharp enough to understand most of Song Yu’s expressions, he hadn’t expected him to come over so soon. He had assumed that Song Yu, being as shy as he was, would take at least another hour. In fact, Fu Yuqian had planned to bring him over once he was asleep—after all, ever since Song Yu had that nightmare and cried in his sleep, Fu Yuqian had sworn never to let him sleep alone again.

Song Yu walked steadily toward the bed and leaped onto it with precise agility. His sharp gaze reflected the light, his cat eyes glimmering like glass—he felt particularly masculine.

Fu Yuqian was confused. “Yiyi, what’s wrong?” Is he here to settle the score?

“Meow…” Song Yu’s voice was low as he called out. Step by step, he walked across Fu Yuqian’s body until he reached his chest. Worried he might lose his balance, Fu Yuqian instinctively lay down, still puzzled.

Damn, Fu Yuqian looks way too handsome like this…

Song Yu stuck out his tiny pink tongue, licked his lips, placed one paw on the pillow, and the other on Fu Yuqian’s chin—then he bent down and kissed him on the lips.

The moment the kiss landed, Song Yu bolted, leaping off Fu Yuqian like his tail was on fire. He tumbled into the blankets and buried himself deep inside.

It took Fu Yuqian a moment to realize what had just happened—Did I just get bed-pounced… by a cat?

A rush of emotions surged in his chest, barely restrained. How can someone be this adorable? Song Yu was everything he had ever wanted, no—more than that. Song Yu was a gift from the heavens, his one and only deity.

His breathing grew heavy as his longing for Song Yu intensified. He nearly lost control, about to lift the blanket and crawl inside, when Song Yu let out a warning meow—Try it, and I’ll run!

Not allowed in…

Fu Yuqian suppressed his desires and shut his eyes, thoughts swirling. Tomorrow, I have to ask Master Jiaye how much longer before Song Yu returns to his own body… I’m seriously about to lose my mind.

It took a while for him to calm down. Finally, he chuckled lowly. “Yiyi, time to sleep.” He reached out and turned off the light, worried that Song Yu would get shy.

Only after hearing the click of the switch did Song Yu cautiously crawl out of the blankets. He was immediately pulled into Fu Yuqian’s embrace. Boldly, he wrapped his little cat paws around Fu Yuqian as well and quickly drifted into dreamland.

Fu Yuqian lowered his head and gently placed a kiss on Song Yu’s forehead. Goodnight, my darling.

The next morning, Fu Yuqian secretly called Jiaye, but instead of Jiaye, his assistant picked up. The assistant informed him that Jiaye had gone into seclusion for training in the mountains, where there was no signal, and even he couldn’t get in touch. However, before leaving, Jiaye had left a message: If Mr. Fu calls, tell him the time hasn’t come yet.

Fu Yuqian could only sigh and silently wish Jiaye success in his training.

Maybe this is fate testing my patience.

In just a month, he and Song Yu had already fallen for each other. He should be grateful for that.

Meanwhile, last night’s livestream was still a hot topic. “Pisces CP” fans were busy welcoming new members, while Song Yu’s personal fans were preparing gifts for Fu Yuqian as a token of appreciation for taking care of Song Yu. On the other hand, anti-fans and gossip accounts were stirring the pot, speculating about Fu Yuqian and Song Yu’s relationship as if they had firsthand evidence of an affair.

Fu Yuqian wanted nothing more than to make their relationship public, but he knew the timing wasn’t right. First, Song Yu was still unconscious. Second, although they had stable careers, they hadn’t reached the pinnacle of the industry yet.

We’ll have to wait a little longer.

Now that he was officially allowed to visit Song Yu, he didn’t bother switching cars and openly drove to Sheng’an Hospital with Song Yu in tow. However, just as he arrived at the hospital entrance, he was stopped by a group of more than ten young women.

Fu Yuqian wasn’t worried, though. The girls were holding gifts, and some of them looked familiar—probably Song Yu’s dedicated fan leaders. He had a great memory and had seen nearly all news related to Song Yu, so he recognized their faces.

Song Yu immediately started meowing excitedly—Fu Yuqian, these are my fans! Stop the car!

Fu Yuqian obediently pulled over and rolled down the window. “Are you Song Yu’s fans? This is a hospital entrance—we can’t block the road. Let me talk to security so we can chat inside the courtyard.”

The fans agreed in unison.

After parking, Fu Yuqian handed Song Yu to the hospital security guard for a moment while he got out of the car and invited the fans over.

Sheng’an had a lovely environment. Even though it was late in the year, there were still plenty of green plants arranged beautifully around a small fountain.

As soon as the fans got closer and saw Song Yu, their eyes sparkled.

“Yiyi! So cute!”

Song Yu let out a soft “meow” and wriggled in Fu Yuqian’s arms. Though reluctant, Fu Yuqian put him down, and the moment Song Yu’s paws touched the ground, he trotted over and rubbed against the fans’ legs. “Meow~ Long time no see!”

The fans immediately squatted down, momentarily forgetting all about Fu Yuqian. They gazed at Song Yu, feeling an unexpected wave of emotion—so much so that some of them nearly teared up.

He was just too adorable.

Even though Yiyi was right in front of them, brushing against their legs, they didn’t dare to reach out and touch him. They could only admire him with their eyes, soaking in the moment.

Too cute, too cute!

Fu Yuqian observed this and thought to himself, Like idol, like fans—this saying is absolutely true.

“Yiyi, come back. The ground is dirty,” Fu Yuqian finally called.

Song Yu obediently scampered back, and Fu Yuqian wiped his little paws with a handkerchief before scooping him up again.

Only then did the fans remember the gifts they had brought. They handed them over with bright smiles.

“Gege, this is our small token of appreciation. Thank you for taking care of our Song Yu gege.”

The gift bag was quite large, making it impossible to tell what was inside.

Fu Yuqian accepted it. “There’s no need to thank me. Xiaoyu is my friend—taking care of him is something I do willingly.”

“These three bags are for Song Yu gege. Please pass them along. Everything inside was handmade by us Yu-fans.”

Fu Yuqian: “…”

After double-checking, he confirmed—Yep, these are real die-hard fans.

Just then, Ying Qi happened to walk by. Seeing Fu Yuqian surrounded by a group of girls, he approached out of curiosity. Before he could ask, Fu Yuqian immediately roped him in.

“Ying Qi, help me carry these.”

Ying Qi: “…”

The fans, seeing that Fu Yuqian had accepted the gifts, beamed and politely said their goodbyes.

“We won’t keep you any longer, gege. We’ll head out now!”

“Alright, take care on your way.”

“Meow~ Love you all!” Song Yu called out sweetly.

As the girls walked away, one of them suddenly turned around and shouted, “Pisces CP is real! Oli give!

Then, as if realizing she had just stirred up a storm, she covered her head and bolted.

The other Yu-fans were furious. A Pisces CP fan among us?! They immediately chased after her, determined to “teach her a lesson.”

Ying Qi, watching this unfold, looked puzzled. “Pisces CP is real? What’s real?”

“My relationship with Song Yu,” Fu Yuqian answered casually.

Ying Qi was shocked. “You guys went public?!”

Fu Yuqian sighed. “Can we not talk about me? Tell me what’s going on with you and my brother.”

Ying Qi’s face turned slightly red. “It’s… complicated. I told him I needed time to think since things were moving too fast. But this morning, he told me that he and his parents are coming here for the New Year. Your second brother’s family will be here too, and they’re all planning to stay at your place. He even said he wants to meet Song Yu and his mom. Your family is basically a bunch of bandits, forcing things like this.”

Song Yu stiffened. Wait… I’m meeting the in-laws?!

Suddenly, he felt incredibly nervous.

Noticing Song Yu’s change in mood, Fu Yuqian frowned. “I haven’t received a call about this. Let me check.”

“Go ahead. I’ll be busy panicking over my own problems.”

After all, that night with Fu Yuting had been very satisfying. His body’s reactions didn’t lie. Ever since then, Fu Yuting had practically moved into his place. He’d finish work during the day, then head straight to Ying Qi’s home at night. Knowing that Ying Qi loved cars, he had even bought several limited-edition models and was in the process of importing them. One night, he even sent 999 roses.

Ying Qi had to admit—he was tempted.

Fu Yuqian observed Ying Qi’s expression and instantly knew his brother had almost sealed the deal. He then turned his gaze to Song Yu, full of longing.

When will my little kitty turn back into a human?

“How’s Song Yu’s body doing?” Fu Yuqian asked.

“He’s completely healed, but he just won’t wake up. I’m out of ideas. The best neurologists in the hospital have checked him, but they can’t figure out the problem.” Ying Qi sighed. “If I weren’t a staunch materialist, I’d think this was some kind of supernatural phenomenon.”

Fu Yuqian was worried that Ying Qi might actually get the idea to consult a master, which could expose Song Yu. So, he quickly agreed, “There’s no such thing as metaphysics. It’s probably just an undetected underlying medical issue.”

“Maybe you’re right.”

Song Yu flicked his tail smugly. Bet you didn’t expect this—I’m right here!

But as long as his body had recovered, that was all that mattered. Once he returned, he’d be back to his energetic self.

Back in the hospital room, Fu Yuqian placed the fan gifts on Song Yu’s bedside table. There were hand-folded paper stars, a small massage device, neatly handwritten Buddhist scriptures for blessings, and more—each item filled with love and sincerity. As for the gift meant for him, it was much more straightforward: a brand-new designer men’s bag, collectively purchased by the fans.

Still, he cherished it. After all, it came from Song Yu’s fans.

Meanwhile, Song Yu played with the bottle of paper stars, while Fu Yuqian stepped out to call his older brother. When he returned, he informed Song Yu’s mother, “Auntie, my parents are coming back to the country for the New Year, and they’d like to meet you. Of course, it’s entirely up to you.”

Song Yu’s mom looked a little nervous. “Will they be difficult to get along with?”

“Not at all. They’re both very easygoing. In fact, my mom is a huge fan of Song Yu—an older-generation girlfriend fan. She’ll probably admire you a lot.”

Fu Yuqian felt a headache coming on just thinking about his mother. He still remembered her staying up late to vote for Song Yu in rankings and even kicking his dad out of the room for making too much noise.

Song Yu’s mom: “…” Suddenly, she wasn’t nervous anymore. In fact, she was quite eager to meet them.

Song Yu felt the same way. He never expected that Fu Yuqian’s mother was actually one of his devoted older-generation fans. In that case… what should Fu Yuqian call him?

Dad!

Song Yu rolled around on the bed, laughing uncontrollably.

Author’s Note:

Song Yu (hands on hips, laughing wildly): Call me Dad!

Fu Yuqian (eyes darkening dangerously): Say that again…

Song Yu: …Wuwuwu, I was wrong! Don’t come over! I’ll call you Daddy… wait, why does that sound even worse?!
