TSINW3 Chapter 45

“This miserable younger husband” -- Founding a country? -- 7/12

Chapter 045 “Founding a country?” (07/12)

You Huang: “You want the public to approve of men falling in love?”

[Not to the point of endorsement, but at a minimum, not be so hostile.]

In this world, even if it was a powerful individual, a man falling in love with another man would be regarded as disgraceful, not to mention falling in love with a commoner.

In Yu Chen’s memory, when he was unmarried, his neighbor’s brother, who was a good friend, revealed that he had fallen in love with a man.

Then both of them were beaten, thrown out of the city, and left to die in the wilderness.

It was only because they fell in love with a man that they ended up in ruin.

There were many other stories like this.

Two men falling in love with each other would not have a good ending.

You Huang: “It may not work; society’s perception is deeply entrenched.”

[Therefore, I’m opening the door to a new world for them, and when all those various high quality novels are circulating around the world and known to everyone, their perceptions might change a little bit.]

Even if they ignored it, even if they disliked it, it was still better than seeing it as a stigma,  a sin, and assaulting a person.

The storyteller finally paid Xie Chenyang a royalty fee.

Before the meal was served, Xie Chenyang was dragged back to their house by Fan Wenze.

Outside the door, Yan Yan and Yan Yu, as well as Shen Shu and Zhao Xiaofeng, were fretting.

“Yu Chen, what exactly are you scheming?”

Xie Chenyang knew Fan Wenze was furious; he hugged him from behind and sat on the bed, wrapping his arms around his waist. “Why are you so angry? It’s just a story based on us, don’t fret.”

Fan Wenze wanted to pull his hand away, but failed to do so, and said in a deep voice, “Our private affairs–how can we allow people to discuss them in public?”

Xie Chenyang told him his exact idea.

Fan Wenze’s anger lowered slightly. “Even so, you don’t have to write in such a bold manner.”

Xie Chenyang’s hand moved down a bit.

Fan Wenze held it “We’re talking about business–be serious!”

“You’re the only one I’m serious about.” Xie Chenyang pressed him down on the bed and leaned against the back of his neck. “We’re also one of them. I don’t have a family and am fearless, but you’re different. Your family may not agree with us, but I don’t want you to be embarrassed.”

Fan Wenze’s hand clutched the bedspread slightly. “I don’t ask for their approval, I only ask that they don’t wilfully inflict harm.”

Xie Chenyang untied his belt. “You insisted on returning to Yao Country before marrying and getting physical, so it is clear how much you care about your family.”

Then, if it is possible, let the books be widely publicized, let them all learn that we are not sinners.

So that the hurt you may face when the time comes, is less.

“Hmmm ……~”

Yan Yan and Yan Yu had better hearing and looked at each other, quickly vacating the doorway of the room and heading to the courtyard to stand guard.

Zhao Xiaofeng and Shen Shu were left lingering outside the door.

Zhao Xiaofeng whispered, “Her Ladyship seems to be very angry. Will Lord Yu be alright?”

Shen Shu led him back to the corridor. “Nothing will happen.”

If there was something wrong, the two guards would not have retreated so quickly.

After that, You Huang, who had understood Xie Chenyang’s idea, personally manned the brush and spun dozens of novels. All the books were about Gongs and a Shou’s sincere love, experiencing thousands of difficulties and dangers, and in the end, it was…a BE (Bad Ending).

You Huang swore, “The people who read these novels will absolutely cry. I don’t think you should let your men read them.”

With a skeptical smile, Xie Chenyang  took one of the novels titled “My General” and gave Shen Shu and Zhao Xiaofeng both a copy. “Take it and read it. Afterwards, tell me what you think.”

That night, Shen Shu and Zhao Xiaofeng both came to Xie Chenyang. Shen Shu’s eyes were red while Zhao Xiaofeng was sobbing uncontrollably.

Under their gazes, Xie Chenyang calmly pulled back the screen and stepped into the tub, wondering, ‘Is it really that good to make someone cry?’

“Why did those people do that to them? The General guarded the frontier, stopping the iron cavalry time and time again. Even though he was bruised and battered, he still protected his family and country behind him,” Zhao Xiaofeng choked back a sob.

“Even if he fell in love with a man, what harm did it do to them? So much so that they all forgot who was guarding them and forced the general to die–why would they do that?”

Xie Chenyang: “…… Xiao Feng, your literary skills have improved a lot these days.”

Zhao Xiaofeng: “The general and his military advisor were together, and it was revealed, so they tortured the military advisor to death and forced the general to kill himself! Why so vicious, ah!”

Xie Chenyang: “……” I haven’t read any of that.

Zhao Xiaofeng cried his heart out.

Shen Shu sighed softly and wiped away his tears. “Although there is no longer any restriction on men and women in that country, and men can also join the military and politics, it is still forbidden by the world for men to fall in love with each other. The same goes for women with women.”

“That’s why they deserved to be stepped on by the Iron Cavalry! They are foolish and ignorant! What does the general and his advisor’s personal feelings have to do with them? Without them, if the enemy’s iron cavalry comes back, the city will be leaderless and fall apart, so they deserve it!”

Zhao Xiaofeng was very emotional.

You Huang took the opportunity to say: “Believe in my writing–there is no emotion I have not addressed upfront. The plot ahead will absolutely make these people, who haven’t seen this type of novel, unable to stop reading. The feelings in the background are more overwhelming, more and more passionate, and ultimately every pair may not die well.”

[Dad, you……bully.]

“No matter in which world, no matter what kind of love, there is always something that can rattle people’s heartstrings, so that people feel compassionate.” You Huang laughed. “Tragedy has been seen too much, and there will always be someone who wants to write a comedy and then……strike up some drama to imitate others.”

[To play some drama?]

Xie Chenyang let Shen Shu take away Zhao Xiaofeng, who couldn’t stop crying, and fell into deep thought.

When Fan Wenze entered the room, he saw his serious appearance and was a bit uncomfortable. “What happened?”

“Ah-Ze.” Xie Chenyang raised his head. “Are you interested …… in founding a country?”

Fan Wenze’s  body became cold. “Say that again.”

“I said, I want to establish another country……”

“Yu Chen”–Fan Wenze stretched out his finger and poked his head, laughing in anger–“You’re becoming delusional. You’ve always been like this, both in your thoughts and actions. You’re bold and presumptuous, but you’re not allowed to even think about this matter anymore in the future.”

“Do you think founding a country is like getting a house?” Fan Wenze sneered. “You need to have land, people, soldiers, and horses. You need to have money…… Do you even have the ability?”

“There is no rush; first we can start with a village, then a city, then a country. It will happen.”

“Yu Chen!”

“Ah-Ze, you can believe me.”

“What the hell are you even thinking?”

“I want to change the world.”

“Foolishness!” Fan Winze whisked his sleeves and left.

Xie Chenyang laid morosely on the bed: [Dad, he doesn’t understand me.]

You Huang could understand his thoughts from his conversation with Fan Wenze: “You want to build a country where men and women are equal, but this offends the norms of the other countries in this world, and you’ll be attacked by the lot.”

[The men of this world are so miserable that they’re abused and killed simply because they fall in love with each other. Ah-Ze obviously cares about his family in this world–will they be able to accept us peacefully?]

You Huang: “…… They can’t. In fact, after they received the letter, they outwardly supported Fan Wenze, but secretly they’ve begun plotting to restore his identity and then do away with you so that he can marry and have children.”

[In their dreams!] Xie Chenyang clenched his fist. [After seeing Yu Chen’s memories, whether it’s the tragedy of his neighbor’s brother and his lover that he witnessed, or the other tragedies that he heard about, he knew that the people’s perception in this world has become deeply prejudiced, and it’s definitely not possible to pass the hurdle of Ah Ze’s family.]

You Huang sighed.

[Although the books based off of Ah-Ze and myself have been widely circulated under the prompting of money, based upon what I saw in the tavern, I realized that those people enjoyed listening to it, yes, but all they wanted to listen to was simply the indescribable things I had described!]

“You know it too.”

[As for men falling in love with each other, they are still disdainfully disgusted.]

Fan Wenze left the room and calmed down, looking for Yan Yan and Yan Yu to ask what Xie Chenyang had done today.

When he heard Shen Shu and Zhao Xiaofeng return to their room in tears, he frowned slightly and went to their room.

Knocking on the door of the room.

The one who opened the door was Shen Shu, who was a bit bewildered when he saw Fan Wenze. “My lady……”

Fan Wenze was cold. “Why are you both crying?”

Shen Shu’s eyes were still red and swollen; he didn’t make any wisecracks that he didn’t cry and directly replied, “It’s because I read the book written by the lord. Xiao Feng and I couldn’t help but grieve for the characters in the book after reading it.”

“Bring it.”

“……Yes, my lady.”

That night, Fan Wenze didn’t return to Xie Chenyang’s room, but to his room next door. He sat down and read the book all night.

At dawn, he closed it and walked out. “Have the person who sent the letter back to Yao Guo previously come over.”

Yan Yan: “Yes.”

Soon, Yan Yan led a woman with a slightly darker complexion over.

Her name was Yan Yue.

Fan Wenze: “You personally delivered the letter to my parents?”

Yan Yue: “Yes. At that time, the family head and the main husband were both at home, so I gave it to them directly and rushed back without stopping when I got the reply.”

Fan Wenze: “What was their expression after receiving the letter?”

“They were very happy to receive a letter from Your Excellency’s household.”

“Did you see them open the letter in person?”

“No. I was led away to rest after the letter reached the family head and only got a reply early the next morning.”

Fan Wenze was silent for a moment. “What was their mood like when they gave you the reply? What was said?”

Yan Yue: “The letter was sent over by the young servant beside the master husband. I did not see the family head or the master husband.”

Fan Wenze closed his eyes. “I see; you may go now.”

At this line of questioning, Yan Yue was bewildered, but still obediently retreated.

Fan Wenze went back to his room and took out the letter, reading it word by word.

(Letter has been received.

The things that Xiao Ze mentions, your father and I already know. Since you are in another country, take care of yourself; you may bring that person back, and we will talk about everything in detail when you return.

Mother.)

A very concise letter.

He only felt at the time that it was inappropriate to talk about such matters in a letter, and his parents had never met Xie Chenyang.

Marriage was not child’s play, so they wanted to meet first.

The family knew his identity.

It was the same in the Yao Country, where it was frowned upon for a man to fall in love with a man.

His  parents did not scold him or got angry …… yet the letter did not give affirmation either.

Fan Wenze rubbed his eyebrows.

Perhaps it was because of his identity problem, his parents had doted on him since he was a child, so much so that when he saw the letter, he thought that they loved him, and even if they were angry, they would certainly agree.

He was a daughter in appearance after all.

If he hadn’t read the novel and what happened to the general and the military advisor in it, he would have nearly forgotten about the world as it was today.

“I was the one who took it for granted.”
