APHMOLIR Chapter 5

A Gilded Cage.

Fu Mingxiu was really on the brink of falling apart. Even though Ye Qin was helping him sit up, just moving a little caused him intense pain, not to mention performing any “big movements” like sitting up.

Fu Mingxiu blinked his swollen eyes, feeling like he couldn’t cry anymore.

His tear glands were at the edge of being completely drained.

But it was probably better this way. Crying in bed was one thing, but crying for no reason was another matter entirely.

A real man only needs one word: Endure!

Fu Mingxiu encouraged himself, blinking his phoenix eyes, which were almost swollen shut from all the tears.

It was so difficult. Not only could the tears not fall, but his eyes also hurt.

At that moment, Ye Qin suddenly reached out and gently touched Fu Mingxiu’s eyes. He spoke in a tone that gave no indication of his emotions, “Does it hurt?”

“Obviously,” Fu Mingxiu replied hoarsely. His tone, although impatient, sounded soft and weak due to his exhaustion. “Look at how swollen it is.”

“An Omega who just finished their heat period can’t be treated in a healing chamber. I’ll bring some medicine to apply on you in a bit,” Ye Qin said.

Fu Mingxiu blinked, then bargained, “…I also need it on my body.”

He felt pain everywhere, especially his eyes, which might go blind if not treated. His body also needed ointment, especially in that overloaded area…

“Okay,” Ye Qin replied.

When Fu Mingxiu saw Ye Qin’s attitude soften, he couldn’t help but feel secretly pleased. He pushed his luck and shamelessly asked, “What did you cook? It smells so good.”

Ye Qin glanced at him, then took the lid off a small white porcelain bowl on the cabinet, revealing a bowl of thick, rich porridge.

“…” Fu Mingxiu’s face instantly fell.

“Why is it just porridge? I want to eat roasted magic-patterned beetles… Or at least roasted snowbone fish…” Fu Mingxiu mumbled.

The border region lacked many things, but one thing it never ran out of was Zergs. Fu Mingxiu once ran out of food during a mission with Ye Qin. In the end, Ye Qin roasted a bunch of Zergs for him to eat, and they discovered that the most delicious food in the borderlands was actually these Zergs! They were fresh, tender, and so tasty that it made Fu Mingxiu feel like he wanted to swallow his tongue.

After the mission ended and they returned to the army, they often went out to hunt Zergs to eat—fried, grilled, boiled, or stewed. Each method had its own flavor. The one Fu Mingxiu remembered most fondly was the meat of the magic-patterned beetle. Even now, he still longed for it.

However, even though magic-patterned beetles were abundant in the borderlands and were considered low-tier cannon fodder, they were lightyears away from the empire, which didn’t eat them. It wasn’t so easy to have them here. So Fu Mingxiu lowered his expectations and asked for roasted snowbone fish.

“You can’t even digest mushy white fish right now. How are you going to eat roasted snowbone fish? You do know that an Omega, three days after their heat, can’t eat solid food, right?” Ye Qin’s face suddenly darkened. “Did you not research anything before your surgery?”

The A-to-O surgery was very dangerous, both during the procedure and afterward. Omegas were inherently frail, and those who transitioned from Alpha to Omega were even more so. One small misstep could lead to serious consequences.

For example, right now, Omega didn’t feel hunger during their heat period, but because they hadn’t eaten in days, their stomach couldn’t handle solid food.

It was bad enough that Fu Mingxiu underwent such a dangerous surgery, but to do so without understanding the risks?

“…” Fu Mingxiu suddenly felt guilty.

He hadn’t cared about any Omega-related precautions. He had no concept of these things. Once the surgery was over and he recovered from the aftereffects, he rushed straight to find Ye Qin.

He subconsciously reached for his nose, but forgot about his condition. As soon as he moved, he couldn’t help but let out a sharp breath.

Ye Qin saw him like this and lost all his anger.

He picked up the bowl, spooned some porridge, and gently fed it to Fu Mingxiu.

Seeing the barely contained anger in Ye Qin’s expression, Fu Mingxiu didn’t dare criticize the porridge. He obediently opened his mouth and swallowed it.

“…!!” His eyes widened in shock.

A bowl of white porridge! Why… was it so delicious?!

Fu Mingxiu, despite not being the protagonist of a food novel, couldn’t help but think that this porridge was incredibly soft, sticky, and rich in flavor. It even seemed to have a meaty, fishy taste, and when he swallowed it, there was a hint of fruity sweetness.

What Fu Mingxiu didn’t know was that, although he could only eat liquid food, Ye Qin had considered that he hadn’t eaten in several days aside from the bottle of nutritional fluid and needed to replenish his nutrients. The seemingly simple bowl of white porridge actually contained G-star phay beasts and Thunder Silver Fish, both rare and top-tier ingredients. Ye Qin had put a lot of effort into blending these ingredients perfectly into the porridge. He even added lemon ice fruit to make the porridge rich without being greasy, and it became even more refreshing.

Although Fu Mingxiu didn’t know all this, he still found it incredibly delicious. With each spoonful Ye Qin fed him, Fu Mingxiu quickly finished the bowl of porridge.

“…I still want more,” Fu Mingxiu said.

Ye Qin pressed on his stomach and raised an eyebrow. “You’re full. If you eat more, it will hurt your stomach.”

“I’m not full.” Fu Mingxiu, a little embarrassed by the pressure on his stomach, mumbled in denial. Then, he raised his head and said to Ye Qin, “Ah Qin, come closer.”

After Fu Mingxiu woke up, it seemed like Ye Qin’s attitude had softened considerably. Hearing Fu Mingxiu’s request, he paused for a moment, then slightly leaned in closer.

“Wh…”

Before Ye Qin could finish his question, he was suddenly interrupted by a soft touch on his lips.

Fu Mingxiu quickly pulled away after kissing Ye Qin, a smile on his swollen face, and said, “Now I’m full.”

Ye Qin pressed his finger to his lips. His emerald green eyes darkened slightly.

He leaned in again, one hand wrapped around Fu Mingxiu’s waist, and the other hand holding his head, as he kissed his red lips.

Fu Mingxiu’s weak gasp was swallowed by him, and his already swollen lips were bitten and sucked by the Alpha, eventually pried open as Ye Qin’s teeth searched every inch of his mouth.

This domineering kiss lasted so long that Fu Mingxiu’s tongue felt numb and sour. He couldn’t tell if the liquid in his mouth was his own or Ye Qin’s…

Fu Mingxiu had heard of couples who could kiss for ten minutes, and he had thought they were either amazing or ridiculously bored. He wondered how anyone could kiss for so long without suffocating.

However, Fu Mingxiu’s own experience taught him that with Ye Qin, ten minutes was nothing.

He felt like he had kissed for at least half an hour, and that was a conservative estimate. Every time he struggled for breath, Ye Qin would let go, but before he could catch his breath, he was kissed again.

Finally, Fu Mingxiu couldn’t take it anymore. He raised his aching hand and slapped Ye Qin’s back. Ye Qin finally let him go.

Fu Mingxiu leaned back against the headboard, feeling like his mouth was too sore to open.

“Are you trying to kiss me to death?” he weakly complained.

Ye Qin didn’t say anything. His expression darkened even further.

— He actually wished he could kiss him to death.

Fu Mingxiu rested for a long while before saying, “I want some water.”

Ye Qin didn’t respond. He stood up and walked toward the door. A short while later, he returned with a cup of warm water and fed it to Fu Mingxiu.

After drinking the water, Fu Mingxiu felt like he had barely survived. He blinked and asked Ye Qin, “Ah Qin, where is this place?”

“My palace,” Ye Qin replied.

“Why is the entire palace made of YG704 metal?” Fu Mingxiu continued to ask.

Ye Qin’s emerald eyes remained calm. He had never intended to hide this from Fu Mingxiu. In fact, he continued to elaborate, “Not only is the entire palace made of YG704 metal, but the palace also has a G-24 lockdown shield, and I have thousands of my private soldiers stationed outside. This room alone has 167 of the latest surveillance devices, and the entire palace has 5212. This room and the shield are linked to my mental waves—only I can come and go.”

Fu Mingxiu: “…”

Fu Mingxiu was stunned!

Previously, the system had mentioned private soldiers and surveillance, but 5,000 surveillance devices? And a lockdown shield? This kind of maximum defense system for an entire planet didn’t need to be used for a palace. What a waste of resources! And the fact that it was bound to Ye Qin’s mental waves, meaning that only Ye Qin could enter or exit, made it even more absurd!

It left Fu Mingxiu’s thoughts all over the place.

After a while, he barely calmed down and asked, “So, rather than calling this a palace, should I call it my prison?”

“No,” Ye Qin said as he looked at the furnishings of the room. He then changed the term. “Or… a gilded cage?”

“Mm.” Ye Qin nodded without avoiding the term, but his expression seemed a little uncomfortable when he heard “gilded cage.”

Fu Mingxiu understood him well. Despite Ye Qin’s tough and fierce nature, he was surprisingly shy when it came to certain things. Whenever Fu Mingxiu teased him, Ye Qin would often turn red.

The way Ye Qin blushed was also quite amusing. No matter how red his face got, it would only be a faint flush, but his right ear would turn bright red. Whenever Fu Mingxiu teased him, Ye Qin would freeze, lips pressed together, and his handsome face would turn serious, but his right ear would be crimson.

That reaction was so cute that Fu Mingxiu often enjoyed teasing him.

Fu Mingxiu thought about this and couldn’t help but feel a little melancholic.

…Maybe he was regretting hurting such a good person like Ye Qin.

But soon, he shook off those feelings. After all, Ye Qin was right there in front of him. Thinking about other things was useless. He might as well make it up to him now.

Ye Qin quickly suppressed that bit of discomfort and then said to Fu Mingxiu in a cold voice, “In any case, I might not kill you, but I will never let you go easily.”

“Since you want to be my Omega, stay here from now on. You can’t go anywhere else… not a single place.”
