The next morning, Fu Wenshan boarded the Fu family’s private plane and met up with his brother and sister.
Xie Wanxing didn’t go to see him off because he wasn’t ready to meet Fu Wenshan’s parents so soon. Fu Wenshan didn’t mind and just pinned him down on the bed for a kiss.
With some time before takeoff, Fu Wenshan found that his workaholic brother was still busy with work on the plane, so he turned to chat with his sister instead.
There were three in their generation of the Fu family, with the eldest, Fu Junlan, already thirty-two years, having always been steady and reliable. He was the designated successor of the Fu family and already had a son and a daughter.
As for the two younger ones, they were much freer than their elder brother. One was into design, the other into music.
The second child, Fu Wenyao, was only two years older than Fu Wenshan. She was the apple of the family’s eye from birth, especially favored by her older brother. This resulted in Fu Wenshan never winning a fight against her in their childhood because Fu Wenyao would always cry for reinforcements.
As for Fu Wenshan’s birth, that was purely accidental. His parents hadn’t planned on having another child after their second daughter. But unexpectedly, two years later, his mother became pregnant again. Mrs. Fu couldn’t bear to terminate the pregnancy, so Fu Wenshan came into the world.
Fortunately, the three of them have had a good relationship since childhood. They would quarrel and fight, but it didn’t affect their unity in front of others.
Fu Wenshan leaned over to see what his sister was doing. Just as he wanted to chat with her and strengthen their sibling bond, he unexpectedly saw Xie Wanxing’s face on the screen.
Fu Wenyao was gazing affectionately at a video edit of Xie Wanxing, smiling so broadly her eyes disappeared.
Fu Wenshan raised an eyebrow. He hadn’t expected his sister to still have feelings for Xie Wanxing. After all, considering her habit of changing partners every three months, she wouldn’t be faithful to anyone.
As he was thinking, he saw Xie Wanxing emerge from the pool in the video, his wet body glistening. His strong and flexible physique was fully displayed, and he combed his hair back to reveal his smooth forehead and handsome features. His eyes carried a hint of indifference as they glanced casually at the camera.
Fu Wenyao outside the screen suddenly screamed like a banshee, “Ah, my husband is so handsome!!! Wanxing Mom loves you!”
Fu Wenshan covered his ears from the noise, but internally, he was seething with anger. What kind of messed-up family hierarchy was this?
What “your husband”? He clearly is mine!
Meanwhile, Fu Junlan, used to his sister’s infatuation, only glanced over briefly before returning to his work.
After watching the entire video, Fu Wenyao turned her satisfied gaze towards her brother. “What were you going to tell me just now?”
Fu Wenshan remained expressionless. “Nothing. I was going to strengthen our sibling bond, but it seems you’re more interested in watching videos than talking to your beloved brother.”
Most importantly, she kept calling his boyfriend her husband.
Fu Wenyao glanced disdainfully at Fu Wenshan. “What’s so interesting about you? I’ve seen your face from childhood to adulthood. No matter how handsome you are, I’m tired of it.”
But she thought for a moment. After all, he was her biological brother, so she should show some concern occasionally.
She asked, “Have you been busy with your new album lately? You haven’t had time to come home. I heard you moved to Cuhe Bay. Are you used to living there?”
A smirk appeared on Fu Wenshan’s lips. “I’m very used to it. The neighborhood is very harmonious. I even regret not moving there earlier.”
Fu Wenyao didn’t suspect anything. “That’s good. Since you’re living alone outside, remember to let us know if there’s anything inconvenient. And Mid-Autumn Festival is coming soon, so remember to come home for dinner.”
“I know,” Fu Wenshan said.
Their family celebrates two essential festivals every year, besides the Spring Festival, it was the Mid-Autumn Festival.
“But don’t say I didn’t warn you, this time you come back for Mid-Autumn Festival, you’d better be more attentive. Mom is preparing to introduce you to someone,” Fu Wenyao said with malicious glee. “I heard it’s the second daughter of the Fang family, a year younger than you, Oxford graduate, but as for her looks…” Fu Wenyao thought for a moment, then said delicately, “She’s delicate and dignified.”
Translated, it meant she’s not exactly a beauty.
Fu Wenshan frowned upon hearing this, not understanding his mother’s intentions. “You’re two years older than me. Why am I being introduced to someone?”
Fu Wenyao flicked her nails and looked disdainfully at her younger brother. “Because ever since high school, I haven’t had a single moment of being single. The number of boyfriends I’ve had could form a football team. Mom is now only hoping I won’t ruin good boys, so she doesn’t dare to rush me into marriage.”
She wasn’t exaggerating. The three siblings of the Fu family shared remarkably similar good looks, but Fu Wenyao took the term “taking advantage of one’s good looks” to the extreme, leaving a trail of dumped boyfriends.
She tapped Fu Wenshan’s forehead. “And you, still haven’t had a relationship at your age. Isn’t it embarrassing?”
Fu Wenshan sneered with disdain. “There’s no need for you to worry about me.”
Fu Wenyao could tell there was something going on. She wasn’t surprised, though, considering Fu Wenshan’s looks, he had plenty of opportunities.
She just raised her eyes. “Do you have a partner? Who is it, someone from your circle?”
Fu Wenshan was reluctant to tell his sister, “Just started dating, don’t ask, I haven’t even settled it myself.”
Fu Wenyao also looked disdainful, “Fine, I won’t ask. Originally, seeing it’s your first relationship, I wanted to help you keep an eye out. If you’re not appreciative, forget it.”
Fu Wenshan arrogantly glanced at his sister, “No need, my boyfriend is great. You think I’m like you, only concerned about looks.”
He wasn’t exaggerating. His sister’s exes combined couldn’t compare to Xie Wanxing alone.
Fu Wenyao was furious, “You have the nerve to say I only care about looks? Yet you’re still single because of your fixation on appearances!”
The two of them almost started fighting again, bickering back and forth, their IQs dropping straight down, as if they were back to pulling each other’s hair like children.
Fu Junlan glanced at them, unfazed, too lazy to even listen to what they were arguing about. He had finished his work and calmly began to rest with closed eyes.
The flight took more than ten hours before landing. When they arrived, it was evening in the China, but morning here.
Fu Wenshan immediately sent a text to Xie Wanxing, telling him he had arrived.
Xie Wanxing replied instantly, “Are you alone now?”
Fu Wenshan: “No, on the way to my uncle’s house with my brother and sister.”
He knew Xie Wanxing wanted to call him, but he didn’t know if he was alone.
He added, “I’ll call you when I get to the room.”
Xie Wanxing sent a happy emoji, a chubby little cat twisting around.
Fu Wenshan couldn’t help but smile too.
Fu Wenyao had noticed her brother’s expression a while ago, obviously chatting with his boyfriend.
She found it strange in her heart. She had never seen Fu Wenshan show such a tender expression in his life. It seemed the youngest sibling was really fond of this partner.
Fu Wenshan’s uncle’s residence was a mansion.
Fu Wenshan had spent several summers here during his childhood, so he was quite familiar with the place.
The three siblings first went to see their uncle, whose hair was gray but who was spirited, then returned to their room to rest.
As soon as Fu Wenshan returned to his room, he called Xie Wanxing. There was a bit of noise on the other end of the line.
“Where are you?” Fu Wenshan asked, “I think I hear someone else talking.”
“In the backstage lounge, I got a theater gig, and now it’s rehearsal time,” Xie Wanxing laughed, “It’s noisy outside, so the sound’s coming into the lounge. What about you, are you in your room now?”
“Yes, it’s still morning here,” Fu Wenshan switched to video call, “There’s a banquet tonight. My uncle will announce the distribution of his property.”
Xie Wanxing asked, “Are the three of you siblings the heirs?”
Fu Wenshan thought for a moment, “Not exactly, there’s also a cousin, but I’m not close to her. What’s being given to me is a mansion, a hot spring hotel, and some kind of brand… I can’t remember the rest.”
Xie Wanxing smiled, “Your uncle really cares about you.”
“Indeed,” Fu Wenshan admitted, “When I was a kid, I broke a Song Dynasty vase that my uncle really liked. He couldn’t bear to punish me. My brother forbade me from having dinner, but my uncle secretly gave me supper.”
The two chatted for a while, then Xie Wanxing was reminded by the staff that he had to rehearse.
Fu Wenshan said, “You go ahead, I’ll get some rest too.”
Xie Wanxing didn’t say much more and hung up.
When he finished rehearsal and returned alone to Cuhe Bay, looking at the extinguished lights in the neighboring houses and his own home, he still remained motionless for a while.
Entering his room, he took out his phone and realized that Zhao Jinghua had sent him a message, asking if there was any birthday gift he wanted.
He smiled and replied, “I want an Oscar, what do you think, senior?”
Zhao Jinghua replied instantly, “Get lost.”
The two bantered for a while before Zhao Jinghua was dragged away by his husband to the bedroom. He shamelessly said to Xie Wanxing, “I’m off to have sex, goodbye.”
Xie Wanxing: “…………”
After putting down his phone, he lay on the bed alone for a while.
Today, Fu Wenshan didn’t remember that his birthday was in a few days, and Xie Wanxing felt a bit disappointed.
But upon careful thought, they hadn’t been together for long, so it was normal for him not to remember.
Besides, Fu Wenshan was currently abroad, so even if he remembered, it would only add to his worries.
Xie Wanxing sighed and closed his eyes for a while, but he couldn’t fall asleep.
Damn it, he also wanted to have sex.
Blame it on Zhao Jinghua.
