Chapter 051 – This Tragic End of the World: A Gentle Little Submissive – “Don’t be so vulgar~” (01/09)

Xie Chenyang leaned back and sat in the corner of a shopping mall.

He wasn’t the only one here, and he didn’t move as he surveyed his surroundings while receiving the plot from You Huang.

Whether it was the messy mall, or the putrid odor that permeated the air, it proved that this was not a simple world.

Sure enough.

This is a post-apocalyptic world.

The original body was He Chen. Before the end of the world, he was still in college. He was a top student, with gentle looks and personality, which made him very popular.

But, such a person fell in love with a scumbag.

The cause was a very clichéd ‘hero saving the beauty’.

A person like He Chen could easily cause jealousy.

Once, some of his classmates had invited him to a birthday celebration.

He Chen had refused. He didn’t know them well, and their reputation in the school was not good.

He didn’t want to be in their company.

But he was alone, so it was useless to refuse, and he was half-dragged to a bar.

The deafening music and noisy people made him very uncomfortable, and the few times he tried to leave, he was firmly pressed down onto his seat.

What was more, his classmates poured him a lot of alcohol.

He Chen was a self-disciplined person. He did not smoke or drink, and was determined to focus on studying.

After a few drinks, he became disoriented.

The students didn’t let him off the hook, mixing different kinds of alcohol to give him more.

He still kept a little bit of his wits. “Please stop. If you don’t let me go, I’ll call the police.”

“Call the police? He’s going to call the police, hahaha.”

“What did we do?”

“Is it illegal to invite him for a classmate’s birthday?”

“Or is it illegal to invite him for food and drinks?”

They scoffed recklessly, and then one of them didn’t hesitate to pick up a bottle of wine, pinch his chin, and pour it in his mouth.

At that moment, Sun Xu, who had been secretly observing for a long time, appeared.

He was dressed in a security uniform, tall, and had a scar on his right eyebrow, which looked mysteriously fierce under the multi-colored lights.

That scar was close to damaging the eye.

Sun Xu had been able to become the bar’s security guard and naturally had some skill.

He forcefully pushed the man away, pulled He Chen into his arms, and led him out of the bar.

He Chen stumbled and followed him out.

Sun Xu let go of him after taking him outside. He idly pulled out a cigarette and lit it up, looking like a gangster. “Take a taxi home yourself, and be careful in the future. This kind of place isn’t somewhere you should come to.”

Sun Xu had noticed He Chen when he was being dragged into the bar by his classmates.

He Chen was very good-looking with a warm and soft aura around him, and clean eyes which contrasted sharply with the ones dragging him.

Sure enough, the next moment he was being unilaterally bullied and drowned in alcohol.

Sun Xu watched from the shadows for a long time, hovering with hesitation the whole time, before he finally stepped in.

He Chen’s drunkenness overtook him and he struggled to stand. “I–I’m a little dizzy.”

When Sun Xu saw the redness on his face as well as the ends of his eyes, which were red from anger or drunkenness, he instantly developed wicked thoughts.

“I saved you, but this job might be lost as well, so getting some compensation wouldn’t be too much, would it?”

If he wasn’t mistaken, the others would have already approached the manager by now.

While they had not come out, Sun Xu threw his cigarette on the ground, picked up He Chen by the waist, and walked towards his rental house.

He Chen was placed on the bed.

But he didn’t remember much about the process, only that Sun Xu saved him and that Sun Xu told him to take a taxi home. But he felt more and more dizzy, and couldn’t remember any more details.

Vaguely, there was an image of him crying under Sun Xu.

Sun Xu told him  that he did not know whether he was too drunk or there was a problem with the alcohol he had drunk.

Originally, he had wanted to call a car for him to take him home, but he had insisted on pestering him and getting close to him.

— “You’re so good-looking and proactive, I couldn’t hold back. I’ll be responsible. Be my boyfriend, okay?”

Sun Xu had been in the nightclub scene for a long time, and all kinds of nonsensical lies came out of his mouth.

With him having saved He Chen and the added weight of having a relationship, He Chen quickly settled down and even moved in with him.

One was a promising college student, one was a high school dropout now nightclub security, and fell in love with each other.

He Chen was really in love with Sun Xu and even confessed it to his parents.

How could his parents accept it? They went straight to Sun Xu and scorned and criticized him.

Sun Xu liked He Chen a lot, but only that much. He had liked a lot of people, and he even thought that maybe they would break up one day when he got tired of playing.

But the contempt and verbal insults from the He family’s parents stirred the pessimism within him.

He treated He Chen better.

He made He Chen love him even more. He was considerate on the surface, but in fact, he often secretly provoked the relationship between He Chen and his family to become more and more frosty.

He thought that when He Chen split with his family, Sun Xu would abandon him, and then let him know that the reason why all of this happened was because his parents were too stubborn and made him never forgive his parents for the rest of his life.

Sun Xu was a very vindictive person.

Just because the He family’s parents looked down on him and bullied him, he was going to make them break up and also ruin their only son.

Just when He Chen’s relationship with his parents was getting increasingly strained, and he was about to break up, the end times came.

Everyone passively fell into a deep sleep under the moonlight, and when they woke up again, some of them turned into zombies and some of them were left unchanged, remaining ordinary people.

No one noticed at first, the people who turned into zombies didn’t look much different from ordinary people, but they craved blood and flesh.

And once they touched human flesh and blood, the zombies became rotten and lost their sanity, knowing only to follow their cravings.

The more you eat, the faster you rot.

In times like these, no amount of tension could outweigh love.

He Chen wanted to go to his parents.

But Sun Xu stopped him.

On the grounds that it was too chaotic with all the zombies outside and that he was worried about him, Sun Xu forced him not to go out and wait for help.

He Chen’s heart was in turmoil and he tried to reason with Sun Xu.

But Sun Xu would rather He Chen’s parents be eaten by zombies–how could he let He Chen go rescue them?

Sun Xu and He Chen stayed at home for a whole week.

During this time there was a constant stream of screams from the floors and the streets outside as well as the hissing of the zombies.

As the food in the refrigerator ran out, Sun Xu realized the seriousness of the matter.

Help was delayed.

Although the electricity and water hadn’t been cut off, the network was down.

Even if the network hadn’t been cut, it was impossible to order takeout and have someone come to deliver it.

If they wanted to survive, they had to go out.

Just as he made up his mind to go out, someone knocked on the door.

Zombies didn’t knock on doors.

The one who knocked on the door was a middle-aged man.

He was also a resident of this floor. Knowing that they couldn’t just sit around and wait for death, they joined forces with the survivors to temporarily form a team, summoning up the courage to fight the zombies, clearing out floor after floor, searching for survivors, and expanding the team.

Sun Xu took He Chen to join them.

On the tenth day of the end of the world, everyone once again fell into another coma.

When they woke up, some had supernatural abilities and some remained ordinary.

Sun Xu was given psychic abilities.

As one of the few espers[mfn]Usuing Espers as a personal choice of translation. Mostly influenced by Korean Gate-stories.[/mfn], Sun Xu’s voice in the team grew louder and louder, and his skills themselves were so good that many people were willing to curry favor with him, hoping that they could be sheltered by him when they were in danger.

A few espers competed for power, and in the end, the large team was divided into several smaller teams and dispersed unhappily.

There were quite a few people who followed Sun Xu.

It was at this time that news finally came from the officials that a safe base had been established in S City next to them and the number of people who had fallen in their H City was too many, so the officials called for the survivors to go to S City in small groups to take refuge there.

Seeing that Sun Xu was going to lead the team to leave H City, He Chen realized his bitter pleas all these days went unanswered, and finally begged Sun Xu to take him to find his parents.

He Chen was an ordinary person, usually only focused on studying, and did not exercise much. His contribution was really small.

And Sun Xu recently had a little ambiguity with a new esper who joined their team.

He didn’t hesitate to privately kick out He Chen and break up with him, and didn’t allow him to spread information about how they had been dating, lest it affect his wife-chasing path.

–It’s been so long, and your parents are so old, can they still be alive?

–You go, just pretend we never knew each other.

He Chen was alone.

In these last days, he also saw Sun Xu’s true nature. If it wasn’t for the fact that he had been forcefully restricting his behavior, in the name of believing that he was good, He Chen would have long ago left on his own.

It was better this way.

He Chen thought so.

He picked up an iron rod left on the ground by an unknown person and carefully walked towards the neighborhood where his parents lived.

During this time, he also encountered zombies.

Fighting to the death, with a surge of determination, he killed quite a few zombies.

And just as he was about to reach his parents’ urban area, he encountered more than just scattered zombies and was directly mobbed by them.

With desperation, he escaped, but he was still scratched quite a bit by the zombies.

He burrowed into an alley where there were no people nor walkers[mfn]Choux –  zombies or walkers? i think we should consistently stick with one unless there’s a moment in this arc where they name zombies specific. reminds me of the walking dead haha Shiotamari- see i couldnt decide if ‘walkers’ was a type of zombie like in resident evil games[/mfn], and felt his body heat up and his consciousness become muddled. He thought to himself that he was going to turn into a zombie as well.

But he hadn’t seen his parents one last time.

He regretted why he had to make such a fuss with them.

Why couldn’t he discuss it with them properly?

He Chen didn’t die, but instead awakened a spatial ability.

He once again rushed to his parents’ home, and in the process, he discovered a very interesting function of his spatial ability.

He was able to control the space around him, allowing himself to be shielded.

Unnoticed by people and unnoticed by zombies.

It was as if the small piece of space he controlled was separated from the world.

He managed to return home, but failed to find his parents.

He could only pray that his parents had escaped, or even followed the army to S City to take refuge, rather than turning into zombies.

Despite this, He Chen looked around the neighborhood by following the routes his parents might have taken around the area.

Instead of finding his parents, he saved some people.

Eventually, he took them to S City.

Later on, Sun Xu had difficulty upgrading his psychic abilities. The team became more and more dissatisfied with him because there were many others whose psychic abilities were stronger than his.

As for He Chen, his spatial ability was not only able to hold supplies, but he also discovered many lethal uses for it, and the number of people who followed him increased.

Only, he had never been able to find his parents.

Sun Xu had also heard of He Chen’s fame and had some regrets.

During a mission, He Chen fell behind and was trapped in a shopping mall with some other people.

Among them was Sun Xu who was backstabbed by someone on his team.

Sun Xu was very affectionate and regretful, saying that he had always loved He Chen deeply, but that he was a man of high self-esteem, and he described how he had been bullied by He Chen’s parents.

Portraying the actions of He Chen’s parents as many times more vicious.

That was why Sun Xu panicked when He Chen kept trying to go find his parents.

He was afraid that after He Chen found his parents, his parents wouldn’t allow them to continue seeing each other. He was worried that He Chen would listen to them and abandon him.

–I love you very much. I broke up with you ruthlessly that day because I was afraid I couldn’t control myself.

–I was worried that in times like these, you’ll care more about your parents than me and thus abandon me.

–But when I saw your firm eyes, I knew I couldn’t convince you back then, so I let you go.

–Chen, I really love you.

Anyway, He Chen was a bit shaken up.

When the mall was broken into by zombies from the back, Sun Xu almost sacrificing his life to protect him made it even more impossible for He Chen to turn a blind eye.

In the end, he still forgave him.

Sun Xu: I will look for Uncle and Auntie with you and never give up. Just please don’t give up on me either, give me another chance, okay?

–- Good.

Xie Chenyang: [Good. Ptooey. Heh!]

You Huang: “Ahem, Yang Yang, don’t be so vulgar. Don’t say dirty words.”

Xie Chenyang thought for a moment and said: [A nice small birdie.]

You Huang: “?”

[A little bird is more scholarly, right?]

You Huang: “……” headache.
