Li Chu felt herself being placed on a soft, large bed. The warmth she had been leaning against suddenly disappeared, and the temperature on her skin slowly grew cooler.
The pleasant cloud mist tea scent, reminiscent of orchids, also gradually faded away. Li Chu uncomfortably opened her eyes.
She couldn’t help but retch, but she lacked even the strength to turn over. The nauseating fishy smell seemed to flood her nostrils again, causing intense discomfort.
The aftereffects of that thing were too strong. Li Chu felt as if she were lying in a pile of salty, smelly dead fish, and her head was getting dizzier.
Ning Manqing turned to pour a glass of water. When she looked back, she saw Li Chu trembling, unable to keep her eyes open.
She immediately walked back. Li Chu grabbed her hand. Ning Manqing didn’t struggle, sitting down on the edge of the bed and letting Li Chu rest her head on her lap. She slowly helped Li Chu drink some water.
Li Chu took two sips. She wasn’t thirsty; she preferred the scent of the pheromones surrounding her more than water. She gripped Ning Manqing’s hand tightly, greedily inhaling large breaths of the scent.
The nauseating feeling was suppressed again. Surrounded by the fragrance, Li Chu felt her body become light and airy, tears of gratitude streaming down her face.
So fresh! So fragrant! Help, she didn’t want to go back to the pile of salted fish!
Ning Manqing let her hold her hand and inhale the pheromones. With her free hand, she used the club’s internal line to request the items she needed be sent up.
Ning Manqing really wanted to take Li Chu somewhere safer, like home, but Li Chu was in no condition to leave the club easily. Besides, she didn’t know if anyone was secretly taking photos outside, so she booked a room nearby in the club.
The items arrived quickly. Ning Manqing prepared to get up and retrieve them but found Li Chu holding onto her tightly. Trying to stand might drag Li Chu along with her.
“Li Chu, let go first. I’ll go get something and be right back.”
Ning Manqing coaxed her softly, but Li Chu seemed oblivious. Sensing that Ning Manqing might leave, she held on even tighter.
After an Omega suffers a mental attack, they can enter a state of confusion during the soothing process. The severity varies depending on the trauma level and the Omega’s mental strength. Mild trauma, if soothed promptly, results in a state somewhat similar to being anesthetized.
Ning Manqing looked at her dilated pupils and blank expression. She decided to lift her horizontally into her arms and carry her towards the door.
The attendant had already delivered the items and left. Ning Manqing entered with the box in one hand, closed the door, and returned to the bedside, laying Li Chu down.
Li Chu reluctantly let go, unwilling to release her hand. Ning Manqing pinched her nose gently, speaking as if coaxing a child, “Be good and lie down. I’ll wash your face.”
Li Chu seemed to understand partially. She obediently released her hand and lay back down on Ning Manqing’s lap.
She stared at the soft light above, and as she watched, sadness welled up. Her lips trembled, and tears gathered in her eyes.
“Tao Tao, close your eyes.”
Li Chu closed her eyes. Her eyelashes trembled, and tears flowed from the corners.
She sniffled and spoke plaintively, “Are you still there? I can’t see you anymore.”
Her voice held a hint of tears, and combined with her smudged makeup, she looked particularly wretched.
“I’m here.”
Ning Manqing wiped away a couple of her tears with her hand. She placed a cotton pad soaked in makeup remover over Li Chu’s eyes and gently wiped away the makeup.
Ning Manqing had already removed the pheromone blocking patch from the gland on the back of her neck. She controlled the concentration of her pheromones to make Li Chu more comfortable.
“Oh, you are here.”
The sticky feeling on her face disappeared. Li Chu seemed a bit happier, her voice even carrying a hint of cheerfulness.
“Yes, I’m here.”
Ning Manqing responded, taking a fresh cotton pad to wipe Li Chu’s face, revealing her naturally clear and beautiful features.
“Woohoo.”
Li Chu hummed a tuneless melody and giggled twice.
Ning Manqing had finished removing her makeup and was now wiping her face with a wet wipe, carefully cleaning from her eyelashes to the corners of her mouth.
Li Chu had opened her eyes again. She looked at Ning Manqing’s hair under the light, which seemed to glow. She stared blankly, her expression quiet and melancholic.
“Tao Tao, why are you unhappy again?”
Ning Manqing gently stroked Li Chu’s hair, smoothing the ends.
Li Chu said sadly, “I don’t want to be an Omega anymore.”
Her expression was like that of a child who had been bullied and came home to complain, saying they never wanted to go to school again.
Ning Manqing pressed her lips together. Although unsure if Li Chu was conscious of her words, she still responded seriously, “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be sad. Don’t be unhappy.”
Li Chu blinked, seemingly not understanding what Ning Manqing said, or perhaps forgetting what she herself had just said. She only sensed Ning Manqing’s unhappiness and tentatively reached out to touch Ning Manqing’s face.
A faint peach fragrance, like clouds and mist, enveloped them.
“I’ll give you some too.”
Li Chu smiled foolishly, releasing more pheromones.
The scents of peach and cloud mist tea intertwined, each strand seemingly infused with the other’s essence, inseparable.
Ning Manqing gazed into those shimmering, watery eyes. She gently tucked a stray strand of hair behind Li Chu’s ear, her eyes holding a smile as soft as clouds.
A phone rang inopportunely at that moment. Ning Manqing answered, lowering her eyes as she listened to the person on the other end.
The person spoke at length. Ning Manqing only said two words.
“Not going.”
She hung up and placed the phone aside.
The sweet Omega lying in her arms frantically grabbed her hand, saying reluctantly, “Are you leaving?”
“I’m not leaving.”
Ning Manqing said softly, helping Li Chu rest her head on the pillow, which would be more comfortable.
Li Chu excitedly exclaimed “Oh, oh” twice, patted the empty half of the pillow beside her, and beckoned to Ning Manqing, “You come too.”
Her eyes sparkled, filled with an adorable expectation that Ning Manqing couldn’t resist.
Ning Manqing lay down beside Li Chu, waiting for her to close her eyes and sleep.
But Li Chu wasn’t so cooperative. She lay on her side, clinging to Ning Manqing, nuzzling against her neck. Their intertwined hair tickled Ning Manqing’s neck.
“You smell so good, and you’re so pretty,” Li Chu burrowed under the covers like a small animal, giggling foolishly as she continued, “I like you so much.”
“How much do you like me?”
Ning Manqing also turned onto her side, propping her head up with her hand as she asked.
If Li Chu were clear-headed, she would definitely realize Ning Manqing was teasing her. Unfortunately, she wasn’t lucid now. After thinking for a moment, she answered honestly, “Like how much I like fried chicken, barbecue, lobster, hairy crab, and ice cream.”
“Like food?”
Ning Manqing chuckled, poking the cute, silly peach’s face, from cheek to nose.
Li Chu wrinkled her nose and opened her mouth to bite the mischievous finger.
The warm, wet sensation instantly sent an electric current striking her heart, sweeping through Ning Manqing’s mind like a tsunami, leaving only a blank space.
“Don’t poke me anymore.”
Li Chu mumbled, still holding the finger in her mouth.
Ning Manqing looked at her own finger, wet and pushed out by Li Chu’s tongue, and a smile curved her lips.
Her smile was slow and meaningful, her dark eyes hiding a bright light.
“Okay.”
She replied, gently bringing her own fingertip to her lips.
“Xiao Chu is sweet all over.”
Her smile widened with pleasure, and the cloud mist tea scent surged, becoming even richer.
Amidst this burst of pheromones, Li Chu felt dizzy and clamped her legs together.
