Extra 19: Wedding 2
When Ye Rongxu was released, his breathing was slightly uneven. He immediately turned to look in the mirror.
In the mirror, the young man, clad in a meticulously tailored suit, was enveloped by a slightly taller man. His waist appeared slender, cinched tightly. His delicate features were illuminated by the light, casting sharp angles, yet his eyes were misty with emotion.
Ye Rongxu took two shallow breaths and deliberately tilted his chin up, noticing the slight redness around his Adam’s apple in the mirror.
He choked slightly, his beautiful Adam’s apple trembling. He turned to meet Qin Chaoyan’s dark gaze and gritted his teeth, “It’s all your fault. When we go out later, everyone will instantly notice…”
He paused, the rest of the sentence too embarrassing to utter and, frankly, unnecessary.
Such obvious red marks—only a fool wouldn’t guess what they’d been doing in the dressing room. They’d probably even laugh inwardly, thinking they were too impatient.
Ah, it was clearly Qin Chaoyan who was impatient!
Ye Rongxu felt like he was going crazy, especially when he heard Lin Jiaojiao and Cao Yuxuan’s voices outside the door again. He said with anger, “We’re busy; wait two more minutes.”
Outside, Cao Yuxuan and Lin Jiaojiao exchanged bewildered glances. What could be more important than the wedding? The emcee was already on stage. Oh, these two were truly a case of “the emperor isn’t worried, but the eunuchs are panicking.”
Ye Rongxu was, of course, also anxious, but the red mark on his neck made him too embarrassed to go out. He couldn’t help but rub it lightly with his hand. But his skin was too thin, and he only managed to make it redder.
Ye Rongxu: …Maybe he could just say it’s an allergy.
Just as he was thinking this, his fingertips were gently grasped.
He looked up in surprise, meeting a pair of smiling eyes.
Ye Rongxu: “…”
He instantly felt even angrier and retorted, “Smiling? How can you still smile?”
Qin Chaoyan coughed lightly. “It’s nothing major.”
He then rummaged through the various bottles and jars on the table and quickly found some concealing foundation. Following the makeup steps, he lightly applied some to Ye Rongxu, finally covering the red mark.
Ye Rongxu curiously looked in the mirror again and, seeing that it was completely invisible, exclaimed, “You know quite a lot!”
But then he remembered that Qin Chaoyan had used makeup to cover injuries before, and he understood.
When the two emerged, Lin Jiaojiao and Cao Yuxuan were practically ants on a hot griddle.
Seeing the door finally open, Lin Jiaojiao grabbed Ye Rongxu’s hand and urged, “Hiyahh, hurry, hurry! At such an important moment, what are you two dawdling for? Anyone would think you couldn’t wait to have your wedding night in the dressing room!”
Ye Rongxu’s face flushed slightly at her words, and he couldn’t help but cough.
There was no wedding night, but… if the time and place hadn’t been so unsuitable, it was hard to say what might have happened.
They rushed to the wedding venue. After standing for less than two minutes, the emcee invited the two newlyweds to the stage.
Qin Chaoyan took a deep breath, suddenly feeling an inexplicable wave of nervousness.
Ye Rongxu noticed and secretly teased him: they had already officially registered their marriage four years ago, essentially already married, yet he was still nervous about a mere ceremony.
However, as they stood on stage and exchanged rings, Ye Rongxu himself found his emotions difficult to calm.
When Qin Chaoyan gently slipped the ring, engraved with a small flame pattern, onto his ring finger, Ye Rongxu inexplicably felt a burning sensation. The feeling of warmth spread from the blood vessels in his finger to his heart, gradually making his entire body hot and his face flush.
His gaze fell upon the ring, then lifted to the serious, downcast expression of the man before him. A hint of mist gathered in his clear, bright eyes.
How spineless.
He blinked, clearing the mist, then picked up the other ring and slid it onto Qin Chaoyan’s finger. His hand was a little unsteady, and it took two attempts to get it on.
Ye Rongxu took a deep breath, thinking again: How spineless.
Then he noticed that it wasn’t just his hand that was unsteady; Qin Chaoyan’s finger also trembled slightly.
So he wasn’t the only one who was nervous.
Ye Rongxu felt relieved now and didn’t quite hear what the emcee said next. Suddenly, his waist was encircled, and then Qin Chaoyan’s cool lips pressed against his. A ripple of applause erupted from the audience.
It was Ye Rongxu’s first time kissing in front of so many people. Even though it was his wedding, his face inevitably flushed.
Qin Chaoyan kissed him very lightly, yet with extreme tenderness, like a giant dragon cradling a precious pearl, its sharp claws carefully avoiding damage to the glowing gem. The kiss was like a feather, falling gently and then clinging with static electricity, refusing to let go.
Despite such a light kiss, Ye Rongxu held his breath, inhaling even less oxygen than during a deep kiss.
Seeing that he was about to run out of breath, Qin Chaoyan finally released him gently and whispered into his ear, “Xuxu, breathe.”
Ye Rongxu snapped back to reality and quickly took a deep breath.
The guests below deliberately booed, “Is that all? You should French kiss!”
Qin Chaoyan narrowed his eyes and looked in the direction of the voice, discovering it was Xie Yu who had spoken.
Seeing Qin Chaoyan looking his way, Xie Yu quickly hid behind Xie Yi and Xie Yunhua. Lin Jiaojiao, however, continued to cheer, excitedly shouting, “Kiss again, kiss again!”
Ye Rongxu’s face darkened: Sister, you truly are my sister!
After the ceremony, it was time for the guests to toast. In the evening, there would be a large dance party, a bonfire party, and a fireworks show.
Although Ye Rongxu’s leg had recovered, he had suffered a serious injury years ago, and prolonged standing or exertion would still cause pain.
He and Qin Chaoyan only danced the opening dance, then sat by the bonfire, watching the men and women joyfully dancing on the dance floor.
As the dance party reached its climax, magnificent fireworks exploded across the night sky, their light streaking like meteors, enveloping the island in a dreamy, ethereal glow.
A cheer erupted from the crowd, and Ye Rongxu also looked up, his beautiful features illuminated by the fireworks. Having had a little wine, his expression was somewhat hazy, but his eyes gathered starlight, sparkling brightly.
As he looked up, Qin Chaoyan also turned his head and gently gazed at him.
When the fireworks rose again, he finally pulled Ye Rongxu close and kissed him deeply. The slightly drunken kiss was cool and gentle, carrying an irresistible invasion.
Ye Rongxu was probably drunk too, his eyes reflecting the dazzling fireworks, immersed in this tenderness. He didn’t push him away; instead, he hugged him tightly.
Qin Chaoyan stiffened, then suddenly kissed him deeper, his large hand slipping under Ye Rongxu’s clothes to grasp his slender waist. Ye Rongxu gasped lightly as he was pushed onto the grass. He hugged Qin Chaoyan tightly, tilting his head slightly to gaze at the starry sky, gradually lost in thought.
The cheers in his ears gradually faded, and the lights and laughter seemed to be cut off.
When Lin Jiaojiao came looking for them with a wine glass, she let out a strange “hmm” and asked, “Where are my brother and Brother Qin?”
Cao Yuxuan was also puzzled, scratching his head and saying, “They were just here a moment ago.”
“Could they have already gone to rest?” Xie Yu, who had already rejoined their group, peeked out, his arm still resting on Xiao Pang’s shoulder, a wine glass in his other hand.
Lin Jiaojiao’s eyes widened in disbelief. “What? They went to rest so early? We haven’t even had the wedding night games yet!”
The others exchanged glances, especially Xie Yu.
“With that living Yama, Qin Chaoyan, around, who would dare to play wedding night games?” he muttered instinctively.
He hadn’t forgotten the methods he’d witnessed Qin Chaoyan employ in Country E; even his brother admitted inferiority. He already regretted shouting that out at the wedding in a moment of excitement earlier in the day. No wonder his brother always said he had no brain, sigh.
Having seen Qin Chaoyan spoil her brother so much over the years, Lin Jiaojiao wasn’t very afraid of him anymore. Especially when she visited their small home in Jing City, Qin Chaoyan was practically… tsk tsk, like a househusband.
Perhaps she’d had too much to drink, but the alcohol went to her head, and she declared grandly, “Come on, let’s go crash the wedding night!”
Xie Yu immediately shook his head. “No way, no way, I’m not going.”
Cao Yuxuan wanted to go, but he was also a bit scared. Xiao Pang, Wang Zhuo, and Tang Ying felt the same.
However, Ji Qingyu, upon hearing the words “wedding night games,” suddenly walked over, an interested glint in his eyes. “That sounds like an interesting game. Why didn’t you call me?”
He wasn’t afraid of Qin Chaoyan.
Big Brother has the biggest face. So, with him and Lin Jiaojiao leading the way, a large group marched boisterously to crash the wedding night.
Xie Yu, seeing this, suddenly felt his curiosity piqued and wanted to watch the fun, so he quickly followed.
But as soon as they reached the outside of the villa, before they even saw the door to the bridal suite, they were stopped by a group of bodyguards, some belonging to Ye Rongxu and some to Qin Chaoyan.
Ji Qingyu, slightly tipsy, looked at one of the bodyguards and raised an eyebrow. “Uncle Chen, how can you help that kid Qin Chaoyan?”
Then he said to another bodyguard from the Ye family, Liang Peng, “Liang Peng, get out of the way.”
Seeing Uncle Chen hesitate, Lin Jiaojiao also joined in the mischief, earnestly persuading, “Uncle, you can’t let Brother Qin marry my brother so easily. Didn’t you see how tearful Uncle Ye was when he handed my brother over to Brother Qin at the wedding today? These wedding night games are a must.”
Saying “tearful” was a bit of an exaggeration; Ye Boxuan’s eyes only reddened slightly. Of course, watching his beloved youngest son being led away by Qin Chaoyan, Chairman Ye couldn’t help but pick up a tissue from the table to wipe his eyes.
Chen Jiang thought about it and agreed. Not to mention Chairman Ye, even he, who had long regarded Ye Rongxu as family, felt like “marrying off a son” today.
“Sigh, go on, go on,” he waved his hand.
The bodyguards hired by Qin Chaoyan, who had been specifically instructed by him to block the door, were instantly dumbfounded, their gazes accusingly directed at Chen Jiang: We’re all doing our employers’ bidding; why are you suddenly betraying us?
Chen Jiang wasn’t taking Qin Chaoyan’s money. In fact, when Qin Chaoyan’s bodyguards tried to stop them, he even waved his hand, instructing the Ye family’s bodyguards to hold them back.
So Ji Qingyu and his group surged into the villa, then knocked on the bridal suite door.
Upon hearing the commotion outside, Qin Chaoyan knew something was amiss and immediately pulled the blanket over to cover Ye Rongxu, who was still misty-eyed and slightly disheveled.
Fortunately, both their clothes were still relatively tidy. Qin Chaoyan, fearing they would barge in without warning, simply tidied his own clothes and went to open the door, but he kept his foot against it to prevent them from entering.
If it had been anyone else trying to crash the wedding night, he would have just put on a cold face and scared them off. But after opening the door and seeing Ji Qingyu standing there, he was speechless.
After a long moment, he pinched his temples and said helplessly, “Brother Qingyu, why are you joining them in this nonsense?”
“It’s not nonsense; it’s crashing the wedding night!” Lin Jiaojiao poked her head out from behind Ji Qingyu.
The others, seeing that Qin Chaoyan wasn’t angry, also boldly shouted from behind, “Exactly!”
Even the Ye family’s bodyguards came along and joined in the commotion from behind.
Qin Chaoyan, with his foot still wedged against the door, couldn’t leave. He suddenly turned his head and called out, “Xuxu!”
Ye Rongxu, hiding in bed, understood his words.
A moment later, he padded over in his fluffy slippers, holding a large stack of red envelopes, and handed them to Qin Chaoyan. Qin Chaoyan took the red envelopes, turned sideways, using the door as a shield, kissed Ye Rongxu’s cheek, and then pushed the red envelopes out the door, saying, “Is this enough? All right, everyone, disperse.”
The others, having received their red envelopes, happily offered congratulations like “Happy newlyweds” and “May you grow old together.”
Only Ji Qingyu, even with a red envelope in hand, didn’t let up. He said with a playful smile, “President Qin, why is your wife giving out the red envelopes? That’s not right.”
Ye Rongxu couldn’t help but peek out from behind Qin Chaoyan and corrected him, “I’m his husband. And the red envelopes were prepared by Qin Chaoyan.”
He had never even considered the possibility of a wedding night prank.
But as soon as he appeared, a chorus of jeers erupted from outside the door.
Ye Rongxu belatedly realized that he had just been kissed by Qin Chaoyan on the bed, and there were likely still marks on his neck, so he quickly shrank his head back in fright.
In reality, it wasn’t just marks on his neck. His collar was slightly open at the moment, his neatly tailored suit from earlier was now wrinkled, and his neck and earlobes were red. His face was flushed with a hint of intoxication, and his eyes were moist, clearly indicating he had just been “bullied.”
Qin Chaoyan quickly turned to block him, then coughed lightly and looked at Ji Qingyu. “Brother Qingyu, that’s enough.” Then he turned and asked the group of mischievous youngsters behind him, “What are the wedding night games again?”
Xie Yu and the others were hesitant to speak, but Liang Peng and a few other Ye family bodyguards boldly shouted, “The groom kneels on one knee and reads a declaration to the bride!”
“Hey, wait, both of ours are grooms.”
“Then President Qin reads it to the young master!” Being the Ye family bodyguards, they naturally sided with the Ye family.
Lin Jiaojiao’s eyes sparkled, and she enthusiastically added, “And the groom lies down… I mean, my brother lies flat, and the other groom does push-ups above him. You can’t pretend to be weak and secretly press down. Brother Qin, I know you’re strong!”
Inside the room, Ye Rongxu and Qin Chaoyan both had dark expressions.
“Hey, if he doesn’t press down, how do we have a reason to ask President Qin for more red envelopes?” Perhaps caught up in the atmosphere, Cao Yuxuan also spoke without fear.
“I’m just worried President Qin won’t be able to hold out,” Liang Peng shouted from behind, as if that wasn’t enough.
Outside, a cacophony of cheers erupted.
Ye Rongxu’s ears were burning red. He gritted his teeth and said, “Liang Peng, do you want to be fired?”
Liang Peng’s head shrank back, and he quickly hid behind Chen Jiang.
But with the atmosphere like this, everyone else joined in the commotion, offering suggestions: some said to make the two eat an apple together, others said the groom (referring to Qin Chaoyan) had to answer questions correctly to be allowed into the bridal chamber, and some even suggested that the grooms had to eat a cherry while kissing and tie the cherry stem into a knot with their tongues.
Ye Rongxu felt like he was going to choke just listening to them. Could these people even tie a cherry stem into a knot with their tongues themselves?
Finally, Ji Qingyu whistled, signaling for everyone to quiet down, then looked inside the room with a smile. “How about this? I won’t make it difficult for you. You two just kiss publicly…”
Upon hearing this simple statement, Ye Rongxu immediately said, “Okay.”
“…for five minutes,” Ji Qingyu finished his sentence.
Ye Rongxu: “?” Are you trying to suffocate us?
The crowd outside also started to jeer.
Fortunately, Ji Qingyu quickly smiled again. “Just kidding, one minute.”
Play is play, and mischief is mischief, but don’t go too far. After all, Xuxu’s cardiopulmonary function isn’t great; don’t actually suffocate him.
Qin Chaoyan and Ye Rongxu both let out a sigh of relief. One minute was manageable; they had kissed for that long in private before.
Qin Chaoyan didn’t hesitate, wrapping his arm around Ye Rongxu’s waist and pressing his thin lips against his.
“Oh~” A chorus of cheers erupted from outside the door.
Soon, someone else shouted, “It has to be a French kiss! Just pressing your lips together is too simple, President Qin!”
Ye Rongxu’s face darkened, trying to think of what to say, but the next moment, his lip line was gently traced by a tongue, a tingle spreading. Then his lips parted, and a swimming fish entered.
The cheers outside grew louder, and Ye Rongxu’s face flushed even redder, feeling as hot as if he had a fever.
Qin Chaoyan also didn’t want others to see Ye Rongxu in such an emotional state. He suddenly moved slightly, grabbed a handful of red envelopes from a nearby table, and scattered them outside the door. Then, with a bang, he slammed the door shut.
Outside, there was a burst of laughter and commotion. Someone seemed to be saying, “President Qin is cheating; it hasn’t even been a minute yet!”
But Ye Rongxu could no longer hear clearly. He was pressed tightly against the door, his suit buttons undone, his breathing erratic.
Faintly, through the door, he seemed to hear Ji Qingyu’s voice, stopping them: “Alright, that’s enough. Take your red envelopes and disperse.”
“Huh, Brother Qingyu, you’re biased! We barely even started the games.”
Ji Qingyu: “You’re all going to get married someday, right? Be careful of President Qin retaliating. Quickly disperse and give the newlyweds some space.”
“Hehe, I feel like I’ll be retaliated against tomorrow.”
“Let’s quickly plan their honeymoon trip for them so they won’t have time to ‘retaliate’.”
—
In the early morning, Ye Rongxu opened his eyes, breathing in the fresh island air.
Sunlight streamed in through the window, exceptionally quiet and exceptionally warm.
Qin Chaoyan, beside him, opened his eyes at the same time and pressed a kiss to his forehead.
Ye Rongxu extended his hand, his ring finger still adorned with the ring.
Soon, another hand reached out, gently grasping his. Their ring fingers touched, shimmering together.
Ye Rongxu stared at the rings for a while, then suddenly turned and kissed Qin Chaoyan’s lips, asking with a light laugh, “Qin Chaoyan, have I ever told you I really like you?”
Qin Chaoyan’s eyes flickered, and he said hoarsely, “You have.”
“Then I’ll say it again. I really like you today too.”
“Me too.” Qin Chaoyan suddenly hugged him tighter and whispered two words into his ear.
In the distance, the faint sound of ocean waves could be heard. Ye Rongxu narrowed his eyes, finding everything exceptionally beautiful.
