When he heard Shi Qi’s request, Shang Sui smiled and agreed. “Your wish is my command.”
Shi Qi’s eyes lit up. He pulled out his phone. “Then I’ll look for a hotel. I have an early class tomorrow, so how about we stay near campus?”
“?”
Shi Qi explained, “I haven’t been sleeping well since we got back from Xiaozhong Mountain. It’s probably because of my heat. It should end in two or three days. If possible, could you sleep with me during that time?”
When he didn’t respond, Shi Qi realized he might’ve been asking too much.
“Then… maybe just one night is okay? I’ll adjust on my own after that.”
Though he said that, his gaze lingered on Shang Sui with great reluctance, clearly unwilling to part with this highly effective sleep-inducing pheromone pillow.
“That’s not why.”
Shang Sui was a little speechless, then rubbed his head. “You can sleep as long as you want. Just stay at my place.”
A moment passed before Shi Qi murmured in a daze, “…Huh?”
Stay at Shang Sui’s place?
–
From the entryway to the living room, Shi Qi still hadn’t fully processed what was happening.
Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the city sparkled with lights, and traffic flowed below like glowing ribbons. This residential area was nestled within the city’s largest park complex, right by an artificial lake, offering tranquility in the heart of this bustling, high-end district.
For convenience, Shang Sui had him register for entry access. Shi Qi thought it was just for the building entrance, but Shang Sui had him scan his face and fingerprint for the front door as well.
When he saw Shang Sui label his profile as “Family,” Shi Qi finally couldn’t hold back.
“Aren’t you afraid I’ll steal something?”
If he came by when Shang Sui wasn’t home, he might even be able to swipe his bank cards.
Not that he would, but they’d only known each other for just over a month. Shang Sui really had no sense of caution.
“Hm?” The other deliberately misinterpreted his words. “So you like sneaking around, Xiao Qi?”
“…..”
Shang Sui grinned and said, with a tone used to scold a child, “If you do bad things, you’ll get locked up.”
Shi Qi gave him a “can’t deal with you” kind of look, then quickly had his attention caught by the apartment’s interior.
A wooden and metal coffee table complemented a nearby geometric floor lamp. The large sofa was piled with cushions of varying materials and bold colors. In the corner, a fluffy pink armchair sat atop a shaggy rug, like a melting pink snow mountain.
The furniture came from all kinds of styles, seemingly collected from around the world, yet they blended together in a strangely harmonious way.
A mural was painted on the corridor leading to the bedroom, possibly by Shang Sui himself. A snake twisted through brightly colored flowers, half-obscured by dark green vines. Its vertical pupils burned like fire, and its glittering scales shone like gemstones.
Unlike any house Shi Qi had ever been in, this place felt like a gallery in itself.
Shi Qi unknowingly followed along the wall mural. Although the apartment was designed as a five-bedroom, two-living-room layout, it had been reconfigured so that there was only one bedroom.
Just as he was about to reach the bedroom door, Shang Sui called out to him, “Go take a shower first. I’ll find some clothes for you.”
It was getting late, and there hadn’t been time to go back to campus to pick up pajamas. Without giving it much thought, Shi Qi agreed.
Inside the bathroom, an aroma lamp diffused the fresh scent of grapefruit through the air. Standing under the shower, the hot water wrapped around him like warm silk, making him close his eyes slightly.
His gaze drifted across the neatly arranged bath products on the glass and wood shelves. It seemed to be one of Shang Sui’s hobbies. There was a wide variety of shower gels and shampoos, from floral scents to white musk—every kind of fragrance imaginable.
Just realizing whose home he was in filled Shi Qi with a sense of wonder.
It reminded him of his first time visiting Lin Yan’s home as a child, where everything had felt fascinating.
Hearing the sound of running water from the bathroom and confirming that Shi Qi wouldn’t hear anything outside, Shang Sui opened the bedroom door.
Heavy metal cuffs were locked to the foot of the bed. The long chain attached was just enough to allow movement within the spacious bedroom, but not enough to step out of it.
Shang Sui picked up the chain and unhooked it. Then he remembered there were more chains stored in the studio.
Uncertain how much longer Shi Qi would take in the shower, he clicked his tongue and quickly went to the studio to tidy up.
He packed everything into a box and locked it. Only then did he feel at ease.
Shang Sui double-checked the room to make sure nothing unsuitable for Shi Qi’s eyes was left out, then turned to the walk-in closet to get clothes.
As Shi Qi was finishing up his shower, he heard someone knock on the door.
Through the door came a slightly muffled voice. “I hung your clothes on the door. Grab them yourself.”
Inside the bag hanging on the door was a new set of pajamas. What surprised Shi Qi was that tucked into the folded clothes was a new set of underwear, which was not Shang Sui’s size.
Shi Qi paused for a second before silently getting dressed.
The pajamas were too large for him, so he had to roll up the sleeves and pant legs, revealing his pale wrists and ankles.
Shang Sui was showering in the bedroom. When he came out, drying his hair with a towel, Shi Qi pretended to ask casually, “Why was there underwear with the clothes you gave me?”
“I bought the wrong size before.” Shang Sui paused, then added, “No one else has ever been here.”
Shi Qi responded with an “Oh,” thinking to himself that the explanation was more detailed than necessary. Still, his body relaxed, and he curled up into the fluffy armchair he’d been interested in ever since stepping inside.
Rather than sitting properly, Shi Qi preferred sprawling out on the chair. He asked tentatively, “Can I take off my shoes?”
“What, do you want me to take them off for you?”
“…”
“Just kidding. Do as you like.” Shang Sui asked, “Want me to dry your hair?”
The fuzzy armchair was even softer and more comfortable than he’d imagined. Shi Qi really didn’t want to move. However, his upbringing made him feel that he shouldn’t be too presumptuous on his first visit to Shang Sui’s place.
In the end, Shi Qi couldn’t resist the temptation. “Would that be alright?”
Shang Sui didn’t respond. He turned and went to fetch the hairdryer.
Accompanied by warm air at a comfortable temperature, slender fingers slowly parted the damp strands of hair.
Perhaps it was because Shang Sui had been indulgent all along that Shi Qi no longer had any reservations. He took off his slippers and hugged his knees on the chair in the most comfortable position.
Shang Sui saw him roll up the ill-fitting pajamas. His feet, as white as jade, rested on the edge of the chair, and the raspberry-pink long plush fabric made his skin appear especially translucent.
Shang Sui’s fingers paused. He realized he’d completely fallen for him.
It was just rolling up a pajama sleeve, so why did he find it cute?
Shi Qi looked like he was thoroughly enjoying the service. His platinum-blonde head drooped bit by bit, almost drifting off to sleep.
Finally, the hum of the hairdryer came to an abrupt stop.
Shi Qi blinked his nearly closed eyes, still immersed in the comfort of being patted on the head now and then, not expecting it to end so soon.
For a moment, he regretted not growing his hair out a little longer. He could have enjoyed it for a bit more.
Shang Sui saw that he looked dazed. “Go to bed first.”
“Oh, okay.”
Shi Qi followed the instruction and obediently stood up.
The original master and guest bedrooms had been combined into one, making the room especially spacious. To divide the space, a decorative half-wall had been built at the corner, with a flameless fireplace set into the base. Behind the wall was a full stretch of glass cabinets filled mostly with various kinds of jewelry.
On the way there, he had also spotted a dedicated walk-in closet.
No wonder Shang Sui had so many clothes and accessories—enough to wear something different every day of the month.
After getting into bed, Shi Qi still felt unsatisfied. Thinking back to the relaxing experience of having his hair dried, a tingling itch crept along his back.
He really liked being touched by people he was familiar with, but ever since he’d grown up a bit, Shi An had stopped petting him. Shi Qi also felt that enjoying such contact made him seem overly clingy and inconsistent with his usual image, so he never mentioned it to the elders.
Lin Yan often had physical contact with him, but it was more roughhousing than anything else.
By the time Shang Sui came in after drying his own hair, Shi Qi had already been tossing and turning on the bed for a while, the urge to be touched growing stronger.
What’s going on?
Shi Qi thought in frustration.
Did Shang Sui’s fingers have opium in them or something? Just one touch and he was addicted.
“Can you…”
After Shang Sui lay down, Shi Qi finally couldn’t hold it in anymore and spoke.
The Alpha glanced at him from beneath lowered lashes. Shi Qi bit his lip, his ears turning bright red.
Seeing that he didn’t continue, Shang Sui asked with concern, “Are you feeling unwell?”
He was so gentle that it felt like any request would be granted.
Shi Qi’s mind went blank, and he blurted out what he truly felt, “Can you touch me?”
The room went completely silent, and Shi Qi was a bundle of nerves.
Was that request too weird?
“Are you a kitten or a puppy?” Shang Sui said noncommittally. “Need someone to pet you before bed?”
Shi Qi turned his head away. “Then forget it. It’s not like I really wanted to—”
Long, powerful arms hooked around his waist and easily flipped him over. Caught off guard, Shi Qi found himself face-to-face with a pair of glistening eyes.
Every time he shared a bed with Shang Sui, Shi Qi felt like a pancake being flipped at will.
Before he could protest, Shang Sui smiled and asked, “Kitty, where do you want me to touch you?”
“…” Shi Qi whispered, “My back.”
That little tussle just now had made Shi Qi’s body feel hot. In contrast, the pads of Shang Sui’s fingers were cool. The instant they made contact, Shi Qi thought of the shimmering scales of the snake in the mural.
The slender fingers traced slowly down the groove of his spine, separated only by a thin silk pajama shirt, caressing with unhurried ease.
Shi Qi’s back was slim, making his figure look neat and slender, like a character from a comic.
His waist was narrow enough to fit in one hand, and when the touch reached the lower back, two distinct dimples could be felt.
Shang Sui gave a mischievous pinch. The moment he did, Shi Qi yelped like a wind-up toy and shivered slightly from how sensitive he was.
“Don’t pinch me.”
Shang Sui’s lips curved into a smile, and even the beauty mark under his eye seemed to carry the same amusement.
“Ah, sorry.”
“…”
Judging by his expression, it was hard to tell whether he truly meant it.
After a brief pause, Shi Qi decided not to hold it against Shang Sui.
Whatever, this person liked to smile anyway.
Besides, the touching felt really good.
At first, he’d been a little nervous. But whether it was the effect of pheromones or Shang Sui’s superb skill, Shi Qi’s whole body gradually softened under the gentle, attentive caress.
He arched his back slightly, letting out a barely audible sound in his throat, and unknowingly closed his eyes.
When his breathing became steady, Shang Sui realized that Shi Qi had fallen asleep against him.
There had been a similar moment many years ago.
Back then, Shi Qi hadn’t yet realized he liked being touched. He would just curl up beside him, narrowing his eyes in contentment like a cat napping in the sun.
Shang Sui adjusted his position slightly, gently wrapping his arms around the Omega’s thin back, and whispered, “Sweet dreams, Xiao Qi.”
Shi Qi had long suffered from insomnia and rarely dreamed. Even when he did, the dreams were fragmented and illogical, vanishing the moment he woke up.
But this time, he dreamed of his high school days. Like a miracle, everything was so vivid, as if it had happened just yesterday.
In the dream, he walked side by side with Lin Yan down the cherry blossom path of their school, shrouded in mist and clouds. Shi Qi suddenly thought of something and said, “I had a dream last night.”
“Really?” Lin Yan asked curiously. “You haven’t dreamed in forever. It wasn’t a nightmare, was it?”
Shi Qi replied with a bombshell, “It was a wet dream.”
Lin Yan had been drinking water and immediately sprayed it out.
“Cough, cough!… Shi Qi… cough. Are you sure you know what a wet dream is?!”
“Of course I do.” Shi Qi shot him a speechless glance. “I dreamed about an Alpha.”
In the dream, it was a sunny afternoon. He and the Alpha were together on a walnut wood bed piled high with linen throw pillows. Shi Qi was kneeling beside him, a pillow tucked between his legs.
He couldn’t see his face clearly, but he could feel the Alpha reaching out to touch him, the pads of his fingers gliding across his skin.
Lin Yan found the scene quite exciting and instinctively asked, “Where did he touch you?”
Shi Qi answered truthfully, “My tailbone.”
Lin Yan was silent for three seconds, then burst out laughing. “What the hell…! The tailbone? Your wet dream was just someone touching your tailbone?!”
“……”
“Are you a cat or a dog? You get happy when someone touches you there?” The more Lin Yan spoke, the harder he laughed. “Then what, do you wag your tail when you see someone you like? Come on, wag it, baby. Aren’t you standing right in front of me?”
Fuming, Shi Qi locked an arm around his neck. Lin Yan was a bit taller than him and almost threw his lemon tea in the struggle. “Hey, hey, hey! Don’t get physical! …I was wrong, I was wrong! I’ll stop messing with you. Finish your story.”
The Alpha had a faint scent of pheromones. Shi Qi no longer remembered the exact smell, only that it was incredibly pleasant.
The other slowly slipped his tongue into Shi Qi’s mouth, drawing him into a kiss.
Shi Qi felt dazed, almost melting into the softness of the intimacy. The rest of his body seemed to tremble in response, as if touched too.
Deeper… lick me…
I like this so much.
In the dream, he was unusually obsessed with the kiss.
“And then… I think I cried.”
Lin Yan blinked, caught off guard by the sudden turn. “You cried in the dream? Why? Did he bite you? Did it hurt?”
Shi Qi shook his head, unsure how to describe the feeling. “It just felt so happy to be kissing him.”
He had expected to be laughed at, but instead, Lin Yan looked at him with a surprisingly gentle gaze and said indulgently, “You really are such a good baby.”
Shi Qi got goosebumps all over and continued recalling.
“He was very gentle with me. He kept touching me.”
“And he was really beautiful.”
Though he couldn’t make out his face, Shi Qi vaguely remembered the Alpha had fox-like eyes, glimmering and seductive.
When Shi Qi cried from happiness, the other had pulled him into his arms, softly comforting him.
“Was that a wet dream or a BL story?”
Lin Yan listened in a daze. The whole thing felt like a movie. Finally, he concluded, “Whatever it was, it was damn thrilling.”
Even if it hadn’t been real, it was still the first time Shi Qi had shown interest in an Alpha. Lin Yan grinned. “So this is your type? Sounds like a sweet-talking scumbag.”
“Really?” Shi Qi asked.
“Of course! Think about it! You were crying, and he still managed to stay calm and comfort you!”
The dream faded as Lin Yan’s amused voice drifted away.
Shi Qi slowly opened his eyes, still caught between the overlapping layers of dream and reality, his thoughts sluggish.
He looked to the side and saw a beautiful, sleeping face.
Shi Qi stared at him, and only a beat later did the realization begin to form.
Come to think of it, Shang Sui and the Alpha from his high school dream were exactly the same type.
Author’s note: They haven’t kissed before. Xiao Qi’s dream was a blend of reality and imagination.
He forgot 2s, but his subconscious remembered certain features. By piecing together the fragmented reality, the result was a dream that felt very ambiguous, but also so happy that it brought tears.
The first kiss of the two babies is still waiting to be unlocked ^^
