SWMSO – Chapter 115

Extra 3 - Jiang Yi Doesn't Lose Her Memory (13)

Jiang Yi’s birthday arrived quickly. On Christmas Day, the class monitor and Chen Wanzhou came over to have a meal with Jiang Yi and the others.

After the gathering ended, Jiang Yi and Jiang Sixian took a taxi back to their current home. Along the way, snow began to drift down from the sky in flurries.

By the time Jiang Yi and Jiang Sixian got out of the car, the snow had grown heavier. The swirling white flakes fell like feathers, blanketing the streetlights, car roofs, and the dark stone pavement, reflecting a vast expanse of white under the dim glow.

Having lived in Yuncheng for many years, Jiang Yi rarely saw snow. Now, standing at the entrance of their neighborhood with Jiang Sixian, watching the feather-like snowflakes drift down, she couldn’t help but reach out to catch them, her face lighting up with childlike delight. “Look… Jiang Sixian, it’s snow… it’s really snowing…”

This was the capital’s first snowfall of the year, descending on the cold, silent Christmas night, inexplicably romantic.

Jiang Sixian had her hands tucked into her coat pockets, her small face peeking out from her scarf as she tilted her head back to gaze at the sky alongside Jiang Yi, exhaling a puff of white breath. “Mmm, I see it.”

She smiled, turning to look at Jiang Yi. “It’s the first snow of the year, falling on your birthday. That’s a good omen.”

Jiang Sixian reached out, wrapping her arms around Jiang Yi’s, looking up at her with sparkling eyes. “Make another wish. It might just come true.”

Dazzled by her smile, Jiang Yi found herself nodding without thinking, agreeing to her suggestion.

She clasped her hands together, closed her eyes, and silently made a wish to the night sky: Please, let me stay with Jiang Sixian for the rest of my life.

At that moment, she hoped for a miracle.

Jiang Sixian turned her head, watching Jiang Yi’s earnest expression with a soft smile. Just then, the wind and snow grew fiercer. The swirling snowflakes seemed like a proclamation from the god of miracles, announcing that her wish had been heard and urging them to hurry home.

A gust of northern wind hit Jiang Yi square in the face, making her shiver involuntarily. Realizing she might have just done something incredibly silly, she quickly snapped out of it, opening her eyes and lowering her hands before pulling Jiang Sixian close with a laugh. “Alright, wish made. Let’s go home.”

Jiang Sixian giggled, snuggling into her embrace as the two of them leaned on each other and headed home. The howling wind chased after them, and Jiang Yi, with her arm around Jiang Sixian, muttered under her breath, “It’s so cold. If it’s still snowing tomorrow, let’s not go out.”

Jiang Sixian nodded and agreed.

Jiang Yi continued, “When we get back, I’ll make you some ginger tea. Drink it before bed so you don’t catch a cold.”

“Okay, I’ll listen to you.”

The wind grew louder, gradually scattering their voices. Behind them, soft snow piled up, covering all traces of their footsteps.

The next morning, Jiang Yi threw on a coat and jumped out of bed, pulling open the curtains to see a world blanketed in white.

In the distance, skyscrapers wore caps of snow, bare plane trees sagged under thick layers, and low shrubs were crowned with fluffy white mounds. Closer by, the playground in their neighborhood was completely buried under pristine snow.

Having not seen snow in so long, Jiang Yi was instantly electrified with excitement. She leaped back onto the bed, straddling Jiang Sixian like an overeager puppy, barking at her, “Jiang Sixian… wake up… Jiang Sixian…”

Jiang Sixian had already woken up when Jiang Yi first got out of bed. Now, thoroughly disturbed by Jiang Yi’s antics, she had no choice but to open her eyes, looking at her with mild exasperation. “What’s got you so worked up?”

Her voice was still husky with sleep.

Jiang Yi hugged her through the blanket, her eyes brimming with excitement. “There’s so much snow outside! Get up, let’s go play!”

Jiang Sixian reached up, looping her arms around Jiang Yi’s neck and whining, “No, it’s too cold… We’re going skiing for New Year’s anyway. We can play with snow then.”

Jiang Yi wrapped her arms around Jiang Sixian’s waist, shaking her and pleading, “Come on, get up, come with me!”

Jiang Sixian pushed at her head helplessly. “You’re so annoying.” But what could she do about this annoying Jiang Yi? She had no choice but to indulge her.

As she sat up, Jiang Sixian relented, “Fine, I’ll get up.”

Jiang Yi immediately became obsequiously helpful. “I’ll get your clothes for you!”

In the end, the two of them got dressed and went to a nearby park with the heaviest snowfall, playing all morning and even building a snowman together. Once the snowman was finished, Jiang Yi pointed at it proudly and declared, “Alright, from now on, your name is Big White!”

Jiang Sixian, standing behind her, burst into laughter. “Big White? Jiang Yi, you’re really terrible at naming things.”

Jiang Yi looked at her, baffled. “What do you mean terrible? It’s white, so why can’t it be called Big White? I put a lot of thought into this name.”

Jiang Sixian gave her a resigned look. “If this is what you call ‘a lot of thought,’ then you really have no talent for naming things. If we ever have a child, I can’t let you name them.”

Jiang Yi immediately stuttered, “W-what do you mean, ‘if we have a child’? Are my names really that bad? Wait, Jiang Sixian, what are you implying? Are you trying to take away my right to name our future child?”

Jiang Sixian nodded solemnly. “They’re terrible.”

Jiang Yi pointed at her accusingly. “Say that again.”

Jiang Sixian tucked her hands into her coat pockets and blinked at her. “They’re just really bad.”

Jiang Yi gasped dramatically. “You’re asking for it now.” She advanced on Jiang Sixian, making tickling motions with her fingers.

Jiang Sixian dodged her, scooping up snow from the ground to fling at her as she laughed and danced away. “Don’t come any closer, you’re so annoying…”

Jiang Yi pretended to be outraged. “You’re actually attacking me now? This is mutiny!” Then, with one swift motion, she grabbed Jiang Sixian by the waist and lifted her up.

Jiang Sixian, still clutching a handful of snow, shoved it straight down Jiang Yi’s collar. The sudden cold made Jiang Yi yelp, her feet slipping out from under her as she tumbled backward into the thick snowdrift, taking Jiang Sixian with her.

Lying on top of her, Jiang Sixian gasped in surprise, turning to check on her. Before she could say anything, Jiang Yi wrapped her arms around her and pulled her into a deep kiss.

Jiang Yi’s lips were chilled from the snow, cool against Jiang Sixian’s in the crisp winter air. Pressed together in the snow, they shared the longest kiss of the season.

When they finally broke apart, Jiang Yi hugged Jiang Sixian’s waist, nuzzling her ear and whispering, “Let’s go home. I want you to wrap around me.”

She rarely said such bold things, and Jiang Sixian nodded, her cheeks tinged pink. “Okay…”

That night, they burned through the cold winter, leaving discarded wrappers scattered across the floor. By the last few rounds, Jiang Yi had abandoned all barriers, connecting with Jiang Sixian in the deepest way possible.

Jiang Sixian lay atop her, keeping her promise to wrap around her all night.

Soon, Jiang Sixian’s final exams ended, and winter break arrived. As the Lunar New Year approached, Jiang Yi and Jiang Sixian reluctantly left their love nest and returned to Yuncheng.

The moment they arrived home, Jiang Yi was subjected to a full day of scolding from Jiang Qionghua. For the rest of the holiday, Jiang Yi didn’t dare step foot outside, afraid her mother would start passive-aggressively criticizing her again.

Unable to meet up with friends, the only entertainment Jiang Yi and Jiang Sixian had was their usual activities—on the couch, in bed, on the rug…

When the short break ended, Jiang Yi and Jiang Sixian flew back to the capital together, ready to start the new year.

The bitter cold of winter had passed, and the languid warmth of spring was on its way. At the start of the semester, Jiang Yi began accompanying Jiang Sixian to the library to study.

By evening, the two would leave hand in hand, stopping by the supermarket to buy groceries before heading home, just like a newlywed couple.

Unmarried couples living together inevitably attracted gossip. Whenever someone worked up the courage to ask Jiang Sixian about it, she would simply reply that Jiang Yi was her fiancée.

Over time, everyone learned that the campus’s newest goddess was already spoken for and would be getting married after graduation.

Jiang Sixian, now unofficially labeled as someone who had married young, and Jiang Yi began living a married life ahead of schedule.

One night in late February, Jiang Yi made steamed fish for dinner. But after just a few bites, Jiang Sixian suddenly rushed to the bathroom, retching violently.

Horrified, Jiang Yi followed her, crouching beside her and rubbing her back anxiously. “What’s wrong? Are you feeling sick? Did I poison you with my cooking? Oh no, Jiang Sixian, let’s go to the hospital!”

After vomiting for a while, Jiang Sixian rinsed her mouth and weakly reassured her, “I’m fine… It’s probably just an upset stomach…”

Jiang Yi hurriedly prepared stomach medicine, but the supposedly minor stomachache turned into a night of relentless vomiting.

After staying up half the night with her, helping her back from the bathroom yet again, Jiang Yi looked at Jiang Sixian’s pale face and a thought slowly formed in her mind.

The moment the idea took shape, Jiang Yi felt her limbs turn to ice, her body nearly buckling under the weight of it.

She helped Jiang Sixian sit on the bed, then knelt beside her, staring up at her with nervous intensity. “Jiang… Jiang Sixian…”

“I think… we should go to the hospital. This might not… might not just be a stomach problem.”

Jiang Sixian looked at her blankly, a faint understanding dawning in her eyes.

Jiang Yi pressed her lips together, forcing herself to voice the thought. “Do you think… you might be pregnant?”

The word seemed to echo in the air, leaving Jiang Sixian momentarily dazed. She clutched Jiang Yi’s hand, uncertainty flickering across her face. “Pregnant?”

Jiang Yi nodded, her thoughts gradually organizing themselves. “You’re an Omega, I’m an Alpha. It’s entirely possible for us to conceive naturally.”

“And… around early January, we skipped protection a few times… So… you see…”

She squeezed Jiang Sixian’s hand tightly, meeting her gaze with determination. “Let’s go to the hospital first.”

“If it’s true, we’ll figure it out together. Whatever you decide, I’ll support you.”

Jiang Yi’s words steadied Jiang Sixian, who looked down at her with soft eyes. “If it’s true… will we get married?”

Jiang Yi smiled. “Even if it’s not, I’d still marry you.”

Jiang Sixian paused, then asked, “When will you tell Aunt Qionghua?”

“What do you think would be the right time?”

Jiang Sixian held her hand, thinking for a moment. “If it’s true… then we’ll tell her after we know for sure.”

Jiang Yi agreed without hesitation. “Okay.”

For Jiang Sixian, she was willing to do anything.
