BMLVS – Chapter 3

Cen Lingqiu was just a worker from the Book Transmigration Bureau, playing various supporting roles in all kinds of novel worlds to advance the plot.

The role of “Lin Qiu” was a mission she had recently accepted.

According to the System, this novel world was an old-fashioned, melodramatic romance novel.

The male lead had a deceased “white moonlight” in his heart. To ease his longing, he one day saw the female lead. Because she had eyes and a personality remarkably similar to his white moonlight, he treated her as a substitute and began to pursue her.

But the female lead did not like him and kept rejecting him. The self-centered and domineering male lead then used his power and influence to imprison her in his private manor, attempting to turn her into a canary in a cage who had eyes only for him.

The female lead’s mother died early, and her father was a gambling alcoholic who didn’t care about his daughter at all. Coupled with the fact that she was disabled in both legs, among other things, no one cared about her. The female lead was completely unable to resist the male lead; she was just a beautiful, but fragile and pitiful, little white flower.

It wasn’t until the second male lead arrived at the manor, fell for her at first sight, and helped her escape that the male lead belatedly realized his love for her. He then began the arduous task of winning her back, and after enduring many hardships, the two of them ended up together happily.

However, just recently, the System detected that the female lead’s self-destructive tendencies were increasing. It even predicted that on her birthday, these tendencies might peak, leading to her so-called suicide.

This was already severely affecting the world’s consciousness. The female lead is the center of a romance novel’s world; if anything happened to her, the world could not continue.

Therefore, the System decided to send someone to save the female lead from her self-destructive tendencies, placing the role of the savior on the character “Lin Qiu.”

This was because in the original world, “Lin Qiu” was a villain who was extremely malicious towards the female lead. She was the male lead’s older sister and a good friend of his white moonlight. She looked down on the disabled female lead and felt that she had stolen her friend’s place, thus frequently humiliating and bullying her in various ways.

The male lead was aware of his sister’s actions but always condoned them. This was because after every time the female lead was tormented by “Lin Qiu,” the male lead would pretend to be a gentle gentleman, showering her with care. The emotionally fragile female lead would then see the male lead as her savior and grow dependent on him.

The male lead greatly enjoyed this process.

It could be said that the character “Lin Qiu” was merely a tool for destroying the female lead’s spirit. A large part of the female lead’s mental fragility was due to “Lin Qiu’s” verbal abuse and suppression.

The System chose for Cen Lingqiu to play this role in the hopes of correcting the original owner’s oppression of the female lead. The female lead had only just been locked in this manor, so perhaps there was still a chance to save her. She had to find a way to pull the female lead back from her self-destructive tendencies and prevent her from dying by suicide on her birthday.

Today was Cen Lingqiu’s first day in the role of Lin Qiu. The current plot point was “Lin Qiu” maliciously leaving the female lead, who had been starving for days, in the garden during a rainstorm. She had warned her that if she dared to return to the house, she would be locked in the underground storage room—a dark, damp place. The female lead was afraid of the dark; it was the place she feared most.

Not long ago, the pitiful female lead had just had boiling water intentionally splashed on her palms by “Lin Qiu”. She hadn’t received proper treatment, her body was weak, and now, soaked in the rain, there was no one to help her.

As a character meant to save the female lead, Cen Lingqiu naturally couldn’t let her be left outside like this. She rushed over, only to run into the female lead attempting to jump into the river.

Cen Lingqiu realized that the female lead’s self-destructive tendencies had reached a dangerous point.

She silently accepted the female lead’s accusations. The rain was heavy, and right now, she just wanted to go inside.

But the more silent she was, the more frantic Yu Mingjiao became. She threw aside Cen Lingqiu’s umbrella, violently grabbed her by the collar, and pulled her face close.

“Lin Qiu, I hate you!” Yu Mingjiao’s voice was hoarse, filled with a teeth-gritting hatred. “Why did I have to meet you people, and what did I do wrong! Why are you and your younger brother doing this to me! You and your brother are both disgusting things. Neither of you siblings is any good!”

It seemed the only insult she knew was to call people disgusting.

Cen Lingqiu’s collar was held in a death grip, her expression calm and cold. Her emotions were like a frozen flower, always showing a cool, passionless temperature to the outside world.

Yu Mingjiao’s ferocious and desperate face was clearly reflected in her eyes. Her unconcealable breakdown, her obvious aura of death, her stark and clear hatred—all of it was etched into Cen Lingqiu’s sight.

The rain quickly soaked their bodies through.

Cen Lingqiu thought it was rather ridiculous for two women to be standing here getting soaked in the rain.

But now was not the time for a heart-to-heart talk.

“If you want to curse me, let’s go back inside to talk.” Cen Lingqiu said, reaching to push her wheelchair. “It’s cold in the rain.”

Yu Mingjiao wanted to say more, but due to exhaustion, her eyelids slowly closed, and her head rested on Cen Lingqiu’s shoulder.

.

Cen Lingqiu was actually quite relieved that she had fainted. This child was too stubborn; going inside seemed like it would be the death of her.
