RRMGEH Chapter 20

Just Hearing It Makes Gu Changheng's Heart Flutter

Later, moving in together felt like a natural thing.

That night, Gu Changheng was provoked into asking Zhou Li to date him. Zhou Li excitedly agreed, and they hugged for what felt like a long time on the street.

—Though in reality, it probably wasn’t that long, but it felt very long to Gu Changheng.

After releasing Zhou Li, he asked, “How far is it to your place?”

“About ten minutes by bike.”

As he spoke, Zhou Li remembered the skewer cart he had left behind and felt relieved to see it still parked safely by the roadside.

Gu Changheng once again sat on the crossbeam of Zhou Li’s skewer cart, enjoying the evening breeze and listening to Zhou Li hum a sweet tune. His mood was unexpectedly good.

The house Zhou Li rented was about fifty square meters on the second floor. As soon as they entered, Gu Changheng was greeted by various skewers and ingredients. Although the place was small and cramped, it was neatly organized.

Once inside, Zhou Li took off his coat and asked, “Young Master Gu, have you eaten dinner yet? What do you want? I’ll make it for you!”

Gu Changheng hadn’t eaten and replied, “Let’s just eat whatever you have. It’s late at night, don’t go to too much trouble.”

“Okay.”

Although Zhou Li agreed to his suggestion, he still cooked six dishes and a soup, even buying a bottle of red wine from downstairs.

Gu Changheng looked at the table full of food and was puzzled. “Why so much?”

Zhou Li smiled embarrassedly. “After all, today is our first day confirming our relationship. It’s a special occasion, so it shouldn’t be too simple.”

Gu Changheng hadn’t thought of it that way until Zhou Li pointed it out. “That’s true.”

At the dinner table, Zhou Li happily drank several glasses of red wine in a row, his smile never fading as he looked at Gu Changheng with gentleness and love.

After dinner, Zhou Li washed the dishes. When he returned to the room, he found Gu Changheng sitting on the edge of the bed watching TV. He walked over and asked, “Young Master Gu, can I hug you?”

Gu Changheng nodded.

Finally, probably because he drank too much, Zhou Li wrapped his arms around Gu Changheng’s waist and refused to let go. He rested his head on Gu Changheng’s shoulder and murmured in a low voice, “Young Master Gu, why do I like you so much!”

Zhou Li’s broad shoulders and firm chest made Gu Changheng’s heart race. Zhou Li spoke with deep affection, “Really, I like you so much!”

In Zhou Li’s embrace, Gu Changheng couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sweetness in his chest.

His impulsive decision to date Zhou Li had initially stemmed from a desire for someone to accompany him in life because he felt too lonely, but unexpectedly he found himself enveloped in genuine affection.

Gu Changheng let Zhou Li hold him for a long time until Zhou Li reluctantly released him.

Zhou Li asked, “Young Master Gu, should I take you home?” Although he said that, his eyes clearly expressed his reluctance to let him go.

It was nearly twelve o’clock.

Zhou Li knew it was time to send him back.

After he finished speaking, Zhou Li cautiously expressed a hint of hope, “My bed is quite big and can fit two people. Why don’t you stay here tonight, Young Master Gu?”

Gu Changheng said, “Call me Changheng.” In this world, aside from Zhou Li, who else had called him “Young Master Gu” for so long? Perhaps only in Zhou Li’s eyes did he remain that high-spirited and arrogant young master of the Gu family.

Zhou Li was overjoyed. “Is that okay?”

Gu Changheng nodded firmly.

Zhou Li was so happy that he didn’t know what to say. “Changheng, Changheng, Changheng…” He repeated the name several times.

Hearing his name like that made Gu Changheng’s heart flutter. He gently responded, “Ah[mfn]Prefix used to show familiarity, usually used when calling lovers, sons and daughters, juniors, etc.[/mfn] Li.”
