AMMSCF Chapter 27

Duan Baisui returned to the company this time, and everyone felt that he had become much more approachable. He used to carry a cold, distant air, as if he didn’t care for anyone. But now, no matter who he saw, he greeted them with a smile. He seemed to be in quite a good mood.

Even during the afternoon meeting when the Planning Department’s proposal got rejected yet again, Duan Baisui didn’t scold anyone in a cold voice. Instead, he patiently and gently pointed out where the shortcomings were, told them to revise it, and to send the new version to his inbox later.

Director Duan had changed. He was practically a different person!

Luo Yin followed behind him, trying to figure out where this change in Director Duan had come from. He sneaked a glance at the man’s profile; the man was staring at his phone the whole time, face full of springtime warmth. That soft and gentle expression… It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say he looked like he’d been possessed.

“Assistant Luo.”

“Ah? Yes, Director Duan.” Startled by the sudden call, Luo Yin quickly lowered his gaze and looked away.

“Help me order a bouquet of roses and send it to my home. The recipient is Zuo Nian. And also buy a small cake, strawberry flavor. Hand it to him together with the flowers,” Duan Baisui instructed.

“Oh, alright.” Luo Yin adjusted his glasses.

A gift for Zuo Nian? They hadn’t seen each other for five days. Had Director Duan finally opened up? Was he being all lovey-dovey with his wife now? No wonder he looked like his heart was fluttering with spring today. So it wasn’t possession, it was love taking over his brain.

But in any case, it was a good thing. With the boss in a good mood, they, as subordinates, didn’t have to work in fear anymore.

A little after six o’clock, Duan Baisui left the office.

His phone chimed twice. Ding ding. It was a message from Zuo Nian.

Duan Baisui opened it. Zuo Nian had sent a photo of the flowers and the cake, and asked: Did Gege send these to Nian Nian?

Duan Baisui: Mm.

Zuo Nian: How did Gege know Nian Nian was craving strawberry cake?

Zuo Nian: Thank you, Gege. You’ve gone to all this trouble again.

Zuo Nian: Little bear spinning in circles.jpg

Of course, he knew. A while ago, when Zuo Nian was fussing about dieting, he even talked in his sleep in the middle of the night, saying:
“Can’t a strawberry cake just fall from the sky for no reason?”

Duan Baisui had remembered that ever since. He smiled and replied: Just knew. You have to eat dinner first before you can eat cake, understand?

Zuo Nian: Okay~

Duan Baisui: I’ll try to come back early.

Zuo Nian: It’s okay. No matter how late it is, Nian Nian will wait for Gege.

At that moment, Duan Baisui’s heart felt completely full. So all this time, Zuo Nian sleeping on the sofa every night was because he was silently waiting for him.

Even when he came home very late, the lights in the living room were always on for him. He would always see Zuo Nian right away and be handed a bowl of hangover soup.

This little fool’s love for him had always been hidden in the tiniest details. How had he been so blind and heartless before, treating him so coldly?

That night, he had dinner with a few of the senior executives from Guangying TV Station.

Everyone drank a little too much, and naturally, talkative moods followed. Eventually, the conversation turned to the fall from grace of the station’s former top executive.

This matter had also reached Duan Baisui’s ears. He had heard that the police and the AO Management Bureau had destroyed a place called “Freedom Island”.

There were all underage Omegas and little girls there. When the police arrived, they didn’t even have a piece of clothing. They were huddled in a corner, naked and numb, with wounds all over their bodies.

This news hasn’t broken out yet, but its impact is immense and far-reaching. The entertainment industry, political circles, and business world—all have people involved. The police are currently following the clues step by step, attempting to uproot everything from the source.

From the way these leaders are talking, that former director was also a frequent visitor to Freedom Island. He was already summoned in for questioning the day before yesterday.

“Wouldn’t have guessed it. He always seemed upright, and he really loved his wife and daughter.”

“Exactly. His daughter’s only in her teens. How could he bring himself to lay a hand on children even younger than her?”

“Truly, you can know a person’s face, but not their heart.”

Everyone sighed in dismay, while Duan Baisui quietly drank without saying a word.

“That Yue Chengqi is a beast, too. He adopted so many kids back in the day. The media even praised him as a great philanthropist. Maybe he was already doing this kind of thing even back then?”

Yue Chengqi.

Duan Baisui suddenly remembered what Zuo Jun had said. Director Xia had once mentioned to them that a well-known and powerful businessman had repeatedly come asking for Zuo Nian. But Director Xia had long known, from her husband, about this Boss Yue’s hypocritical nature. So she protected Zuo Nian. That Boss Yue wasn’t able to take a single child from Qingshan Orphanage. Enraged and humiliated, he joined forces with a certain official to suppress the orphanage, causing their media coverage to diminish more and more. The funding allocated from above likely never made it to them either. Over the years, it had all been sustained solely by Director Xia’s efforts.

And yet, even so, Director Xia never gave in.

Zuo Nian was a child born under misfortune, but at the same time, he was lucky. During his time at the orphanage, he encountered the most responsible Director Mom. Otherwise… Duan Baisui couldn’t bear to imagine what kind of suffering a child as pure as Zuo Nian might have endured.

By the time the dinner gathering ended, it was already very late.

When Duan Baisui returned home, he wasn’t surprised to see Zuo Nian lying asleep on the sofa again. The Omega had a thin fleece blanket draped over him, his expression peaceful. It was good. He had been well protected.

Duan Baisui took off his coat and leaned down to pick him up. But as soon as he got close, Zuo Nian woke up.

“Gege,” he murmured softly, his voice light and cottony.

“Mn.” Duan Baisui gently touched his face. “Why are you sleeping on the sofa again?”

“Waiting for you~” He always liked to drag out his final syllables when he spoke, soft and sweet beyond words.

“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t sleep with me tonight? Still waiting for me to come home?” Duan Baisui lifted his hand and kissed his fingertips.

Zuo Nian looked at him and smiled. His dewy lips parted slightly, revealing a small, pink tongue inside. He said, “That’s right, not sleeping with Gege tonight, but Nian Nian has to watch Gege drink the hangover soup, has to rub Gege’s tummy, then we can sleep separately.”

Duan Baisui pinched his cheek, then cupped the back of his head and kissed him fervently.

The Omega, who had just eaten strawberry cake, was sweet all over. When his tongue was sucked on, he let out soft, low moans.

When his breathing became labored, Zuo Nian reached out to push him away. Duan Baisui teased, “What? I can’t even kiss you now?”

Zuo Nian glanced around the room. “Auntie Liu is home. What if she comes out and sees us?”

“It’s fine, she’ll understand. After all, you’re so adorable. Me not being able to resist is completely normal, isn’t it?” Duan Baisui bent his fingers and gently rubbed the side of his face.

“Gege turns shameless when he drinks,” Zuo Nian accused, full of indignation.

Duan Baisui raised an eyebrow. “Oh? And who was just now moaning along with me?”

Zuo Nian dodged away, slipped into his slippers, and headed toward the kitchen, muttering as he went, “Not talking to Gege.”

But before long, the one who had run off came back out carrying a bowl of hot soup. He handed it to Duan Baisui and said, “You have to drink it while it’s hot.”

“You say you’re not talking to me, but then you bring me soup?” Duan Baisui deliberately gave him a hard time. “Then I won’t drink it.”

Zuo Nian tilted his head. “Why is Gege acting like a child?”

“Exactly,” Duan Baisui slumped onto the sofa, looking up at him. “So what can you do about it?”

“You’re really drunk.” Zuo Nian let out a long, helpless sigh.

He sat down beside Duan Baisui, held the bowl, and fed him spoonful by spoonful. “If you don’t drink, you’ll feel awful. Be good, Gege. Nian Nian likes you the most.”

Duan Baisui didn’t open his mouth. He just stared at him intently. His gaze was burning with desire and aggression, as if it were stripping him bare, layer by layer.

Zuo Nian could read the look in his eyes. During his heat, Duan Baisui always looked at him like that, and then what followed would be even more intense thrusting.

“We can’t… do that again. Nian Nian’s butt really hurts…” he mumbled in a soft, glutinous tone. “It’s going to break…”

Duan Baisui laughed at his words. Zuo Nian leaned in and kissed the corner of his lips, then said, “Is this okay? Will Gege drink the soup properly now?”

He was really treating him like a drunk to coax. Duan Baisui didn’t want to push him too hard. He lowered his head and finished the hangover soup in one go. After all, he’d already gotten his little reward. He should know when to stop.

It was already half past eleven at night. The two of them were getting ready to rest. Zuo Nian helped him back to bed and wiped his face with a cloth.

The sheets had just been changed and carried a fresh scent from the fragrance sachet, but Duan Baisui didn’t really like it. He still missed when the whole room had been filled with the scent of both their pheromones, when the bed was soaked in Zuo Nian’s scent, Zuo Nian’s pheromones, and Zuo Nian’s love fluids.

“Gege, sleep early. Nian Nian will be right next door,” Zuo Nian said softly.

Heh. Separate rooms for real, huh?

Duan Baisui didn’t rush to object. Instead, he rubbed his forehead and feigned discomfort, saying, “I think I have a bit of a headache… Could you help me get some medicine from downstairs?”

“Does it hurt a lot?” Zuo Nian asked, concerned.

“Mn.”

“Then wait for me.”

The Omega ran downstairs. Duan Baisui, perfectly clear-headed, got up and quietly turned the doorknob of the room next door.

The two dolls had been placed on the pillow by Zuo Nian. He’d even thoughtfully tucked a blanket over them, just like he was taking care of two little babies.

Duan Baisui pulled the two dolls away, turned, and went back to the master bedroom. After thinking it over, he tossed the dolls into the wardrobe and covered them up with clothes.

Just as he finished all that, Zuo Nian returned, holding a pill and a glass of water. He peeked into the walk-in closet and asked, “Gege, why are you up?”

“Wanted to take a shower,” Duan Baisui replied simply, already starting to undo his belt.

Zuo Nian’s face flushed, and he quickly turned his head away. “Th-then the medicine…”

“Just leave it on the nightstand. I’ll take it in a bit,” Duan Baisui said.

“But you drank earlier, is it okay to shower now? Won’t you slip or something?”

Duan Baisui calmly stripped himself completely, reached out for his bathrobe, and put it on. “It’s fine, I’m already sobered up. You should rest soon. Don’t you have to open the shop tomorrow?”

“Mn-mn,” Zuo Nian nodded. “Then…”

The Alpha had already walked out. His robe was wide open, revealing a pale chest, still marked with the love bites left by Zuo Nian a couple of days ago. Zuo Nian’s face grew hot, and he said, “Then… goodnight, Gege.”

“Goodnight.”

The hot water in the shower washed away the smell of smoke and alcohol. Duan Baisui felt much more refreshed. He knew that once he stepped out later, he would definitely see Zuo Nian.

Throwing the bathrobe aside, he wrapped only a towel around his lower body. His damp black hair was still dripping, and clear droplets slid down from his neck, past his chest, and finally trailed along his abs. He knew exactly how to draw Zuo Nian’s attention.

As he opened the bathroom door, sure enough, Zuo Nian was standing beside the bed, bent over and rummaging through something. When he heard the door open, he instinctively looked up, and their eyes met. Zuo Nian swallowed, not even knowing where to look: “Gege, have you seen my Abei Bei?”

Duan Baisui looked innocent. “No. What’s wrong?”

“My Abei Bei is gone. And Little Sui, too. They’re both missing,” Zuo Nian was on the verge of tears.

“Did you lose them when you moved to the guest room? Or maybe Auntie Liu washed the bedding and threw them in with it by accident?” Duan Baisui calmly analyzed.

“No, I clearly remember putting them on the bed. But just now, I couldn’t find them…”

Duan Baisui stepped closer and patted his hair gently to comfort him. “Don’t worry. It’s really late now. Let’s look for them tomorrow. They’re definitely still in the house. They won’t be lost.”

Zuo Nian thought carefully and realized that he did have a point. He nodded obediently, “Okay~”

Without Abei Bei, Zuo Nian absolutely couldn’t sleep alone.

He looked at the person in front of him and said eagerly, “Gege, let me dry your hair for you.”

“You’re not going back to your room to sleep?” Duan Baisui asked knowingly.

“No rush, no rush, hehe.”

Zuo Nian fetched the hairdryer. Duan Baisui sat on the edge of the bed, enjoying the feeling of those fingers running gently through his hair. Perhaps because he’d just complained of a headache, Zuo Nian even used the pads of his fingers to massage his scalp lightly, just the right amount of pressure.

See? Hiding his A’Beibei was the right move. How could newlyweds start sleeping in separate rooms right after consummating their marriage? He couldn’t stand it. His Omega was so tempting. How was he supposed to sleep through these long nights without stealing a few kisses?

The hum of the hairdryer gradually stopped. Just as Zuo Nian was about to put it away, Duan Baisui raised his hand and pulled him into his arms. Through the thin pajamas, he kissed the side of his waist and asked, “Are you going back to the guest room?”

Zuo Nian trembled, the tingling kiss at his waist nearly making him lose his balance. He said, “No… Tonight, I still want to sleep with Gege.”

“That’s not what you said this afternoon,” Duan Baisui murmured as he lifted his shirt and kissed his way upward. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll spank you again?”

Zuo Nian loosely wrapped his arms around his neck, his voice soft and pleading, “I’m scared… Can you not spank me?”

Duan Baisui curled his lips into a smile. Zuo Nian had never seen this kind of expression on him before—teasing, wicked.

Duan Baisui patted his own thigh and said, “Come sit.”

Zuo Nian obediently straddled him. Duan Baisui caressed his back and said, “If you behave, I won’t spank you.”

“Mn.”

“What did you do at home today?” Duan Baisui asked with a straight face, but his hands were already wandering.

“Ate… slept…” Zuo Nian answered slowly.

“And what else?”

“Missed Gege.”

That hand slid to the back of Zuo Nian’s neck, rubbing over his gland for a long while. Then it pressed down against his nape, forcing him to lower his head and accept the kiss.

Unlike the rough biting from before, Duan Baisui was gentle this time—soft, tender. Zuo Nian felt himself becoming strange again. It wasn’t his heat, and there was no scent of pheromones meant to provoke, but he could still clearly feel himself heating up, itching, wanting.

They tumbled onto the large bed as they kissed. Zuo Nian felt a chill behind him. Then came Duan Baisui’s low voice: “Close your legs.”

Just now, Duan Baisui had said that as long as he behaved, he wouldn’t spank him. Zuo Nian quickly brought his legs together.

The skin of his inner thighs was burning hot. Zuo Nian bit the blanket and whimpered. This kind of slow teasing was pure torment. He’d rather… rather just—

Zuo Nian turned his head, eyes glistening with tears. The red at his lash line spread all the way to the corners of his eyes, looking utterly like someone who had been bullied to the extreme.

He said, “Gege… you’d better spank me after all.”

Duan Baisui gently caressed him, his voice laced with wicked amusement. “If I spank you now, wouldn’t you insist on sleeping in separate rooms again?”

“No… I won’t…” Zuo Nian answered in broken gasps. “Gege, I think I’m sick…”

“Where does it hurt?”

“It’s not even my heat, but I still… I still want Gege. I want Gege to spank me…” Zuo Nian confessed in shame.

“Baby, you’re really strange. You were the one who insisted we sleep together before. Then you were the one who said we had to sleep separately because I spanked you. Now you’re begging me to spank you again. Why are you so contradictory?” Duan Baisui’s voice was low and magnetic, tempting the one in his arms to lose all reason. “So… can you tell me, what is it that you really want?”

Zuo Nian gasped for breath, moving on his own to seek out Duan Baisui’s burning heat. “I want Gege…”

It was only early spring, and the night wind still carried a chill. But inside the room, heat and desire swirled. The bright crystal light stayed on for most of the night, and from within came the low, breathless sounds of pleading, painting the cold night with a scene of enticing spring.

The next morning, Duan Baisui woke up early. Zuo Nian had been thoroughly “bullied” last night and was still fast asleep now.

Remembering how Zuo Nian would probably wake up and start looking everywhere for his Abei Bei, Duan Baisui quietly got out of bed and tiptoed to the walk-in closet to fish out the two dolls.

Last night, Zuo Nian had promised him right there in bed. No matter what, they wouldn’t sleep in separate rooms again. So Duan Baisui decided to return the dolls to him.

He brought the dolls to the guest room next door and spent quite a while figuring out the best place to put them, somewhere Zuo Nian wouldn’t realize it was all his doing.

Just then, he keenly heard footsteps outside and the sound of the doorknob turning.

With a swift movement, Duan Baisui dove down and flattened himself on the floor beside the bed.

Zuo Nian rubbed his eyes and pushed open the door. “Gege, what are you doing—eh? Why are you on the floor?”

Duan Baisui pretended to be reaching far under the bed, then straightened up and raised the dolls in his hand. “Look what I found.”
