RYOG Chapter 21

Once all the members were gathered, we all headed together to the auditorium where the meeting was to be held.
When we entered through the door, the noisy students suddenly became quiet. It was quite a burden to feel the gazes of people staring at us from all sides, but I got used to it.

By the way.
What is this psychological state that makes me imagine myself doing something really stupid at times like this? For example, what would happen if I suddenly let out a strange scream, or if I took a tumble on purpose?
It’s not like I want to die socially or have any desire to be looked down upon by the entire school.
Oh, of course I’ve never done it.
In the first place, Wolf was holding my hand while I was walking, so it felt like even if I fell he would just pick me up quickly.
The Magic Academy claims to be equal for both men and women before academics, but at the same time, it is a place where the children of nobles learn manners. Therefore, on occasions like this, it is natural for women to be escorted.
By the way, dance classes are co-ed.
As for whether it’s embarrassing or not, you can easily get used to it.
Personally, I find Wolf’s habit of always walking half a step behind me, regardless of the situation, to be rather embarrassing.
A good wife? Is Wolf a good wife?
No, I know it’s just part of his overprotectiveness!

While I was thinking about such silly things, we arrived at the podium.

The meeting went smoothly.
Since Wolf had already done most of the talking about “What to do as a student at the Royal Magic Academy,” I gave a noncommittal greeting to my fellow students: “Let’s cherish the remaining year of school life so that we don’t have any regrets,” and to the underclassmen: “The time you have to enjoy school life will pass in the blink of an eye. Let’s identify what we need to do and work hard every day.”
And when I finally looked up, my eyes were drawn to the back row of fifth-year students.

And there she was.
Her name is Lily.

I think it was good after the greetings were over.
Even though I knew in my head that she was at this school, I still felt unsettled every time I saw her. I returned to my seat on the stage with a nonchalant look on my face, but my heart was not far from her.

The game heroine appears at the school and the game begins.
In a sense, this is the beginning of a tragedy, like when a detective appears at a certain place in a mystery novel.
The game’s characters become sick from falling in love with her.
Of course, he has the potential, or maybe it’s because he has some mental instability. But it’s precisely because he falls in love that negative emotions such as jealousy, possessiveness, and anxiety swell up and burst. In other words, he loves the heroine so much that he goes crazy.

But at the same time, her presence is a relief.
In the game, there are branching paths. In other words, by choosing the right options, the story will reach a happy ending. This is a wonderful development in which the heroine wipes away the darkness in their hearts. No one around them dies. The heroine doesn’t die. The hero doesn’t die. It’s a three-way happy ending.
You need to assess the situation, or at least avoid the crazy variety of bad ending traps. You can’t let anyone die.
Determine what you need to do. Do it without regrets. Coincidentally, those are the words I just said.
What happens next depends on the heroine’s choice. But even I can’t just sit back and do nothing.

What kind of future will she aim for? Who will she fall in love with?
What if that opponent was Wolf?
What will I do? Will I fight? Is it okay to fight?
Is that the path to happiness?

To be honest, that’s probably what scares me the most.
