Chapter 117: The Cold, Crazy School Idol x The Spoiled, Delicate Little Brat 25
Mu Jianian remained unfazed, his gaze filled with deep affection.
He held him tightly in his arms, showering him with kisses.
His voice was chillingly resolute:
“Our Bao Bao will fall in love with me again…”
Jiang Luoluo closed his eyes helplessly, tears streaming down his cheeks.
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through the back of his neck as something was injected into him.
Jiang Luoluo let out a muffled cry, a sob escaping his throat, and collapsed into the man’s arms.
A figure in a white coat appeared at the door, frowning at the embracing couple.
“Why bother? He’ll remember eventually.”
Mu Jianian kissed Jiang Luoluo’s cheek, then lifted him into his arms. His voice was cold:
“You wouldn’t understand.”
The system watched silently, holding its tongue.
*Forget it.*
It didn’t want to be crushed to smithereens when its host completed all the tasks.
It would just pretend to be offline.
*Ouch…*
*My head feels like it’s about to split open…*
The person lying in bed stirred. A small figure sat up under the pure white swan-down duvet and pressed a hand to his forehead.
He glanced around the room, his expression growing even more confused.
His neck also ached, and his whole body throbbed with pain.
The little figure on the bed frowned in distress, his delicate face looking even more vulnerable. A tear clung precariously to his eyelashes, threatening to fall.
The door opened.
The person in bed watched the man who entered with wary eyes, his voice small: “Who are you?”
The man smiled at him, his phoenix eyes filled with tenderness. He gently stroked the boy’s head. “Bao Bao, are you awake? I’m your husband.”
Jiang Luoluo looked at him, utterly bewildered.
The man took his fingers and kissed them.
“My name is Mu Jianian. I’m your husband. We’ve been in love for many years.”
“You were kidnapped yesterday and injured your head, so you don’t remember anything.”
Jiang Luoluo continued to stare at him with a dazed expression, his long eyelashes fluttering slowly.
Mu Jianian stroked his cheek, then pulled him into his arms and kissed his forehead.
“Don’t be afraid, Bao Bao. Your husband is here.”
“I won’t let you go out alone again. From now on, I’ll protect our Bao Bao.”
Leaning against the man’s shoulder, Jiang Luoluo blinked, his voice soft. “It hurts so much…”
Mu Jianian released him. “Where does it hurt, Bao Bao?”
Jiang Luoluo hesitated, then touched the back of his neck. “It hurts so, so much here…”
Mu Jianian cupped his face. “Husband promises, our Bao Bao won’t hurt anymore.”
The man’s cool breath brushed against his face, his expression deeply affectionate as he kissed Jiang Luoluo’s forehead again and again, as if he wanted to cherish him to the very core of his being.
Everything around them felt unfamiliar, except for this man who claimed to be his husband. He was the only one who gave Jiang Luoluo a sense of familiarity.
Jiang Luoluo looked down as Mu Jianian knelt on the floor, holding his ankle to help him put on his socks. Then, Mu Jianian held his hand tightly as they went to wash up.
This man seemed to genuinely like him and was incredibly attentive.
He took care of every detail.
He even squeezed toothpaste onto the electric toothbrush and adjusted the faucet to the perfect water temperature.
As Jiang Luoluo brushed his teeth, he stole several glances at the man.
He was handsome and refined, with prominent brow bones, a high nose bridge, and the aristocratic aura of a noble young master from a prestigious family.
When he looked at Jiang Luoluo, his eyes were incredibly gentle, as if Jiang Luoluo were his most precious treasure.
After Jiang Luoluo finished washing up, the man had already prepared a clean, soft towel to wipe the water droplets from his face.
Jiang Luoluo was treated like a pampered little ancestor.
His heart softened a little.
He looked at Mu Jianian and said in a soft voice, “I’m hungry…”
Mu Jianian pinched his cheek. “Alright, I’ll go hurry up the auntie.”
As Jiang Luoluo wandered around the unfamiliar room, he took small steps towards the bedside table.
There was a phone on the nightstand with a fluffy, long-eared rabbit case. He picked it up and easily unlocked it with facial recognition.
The wallpaper was a photo of him being kissed by Mu Jianian in his arms.
It must have been taken at night, with trees and bushes in the background.
Mu Jianian in the photo looked much younger, his long arms pulling Jiang Luoluo into a tight embrace. He leaned his head to the side, bending slightly to kiss the person in his arms.
Jiang Luoluo himself looked very young too.
He was wearing a coat that was too big, with sleeves that extended past his fingertips, and he was smiling shyly and happily.
So they really had been lovers for a long time.
Jiang Luoluo opened his contacts. The most recent call log entry was indeed labeled “Husband.”
He dialed the number, and soon Mu Jianian’s voice came through the phone. “Come down for dinner, Bao Bao.”
Jiang Luoluo obediently agreed.
This was a huge European-style villa with golden railings on the winding staircase.
As he descended step by step, a passing maid greeted him, “Good morning, Madam.”
Jiang Luoluo blushed slightly.
Mu Jianian walked over, took Jiang Luoluo’s hand, and led him to the dining room.
He ladled soup into Jiang Luoluo’s bowl, blew on it until it was just the right temperature, and then fed it to him.
He picked out dishes for Jiang Luoluo, each one his favorite, perfectly suited to his taste.
It was as if he were about to cradle him in his arms and coax him to eat.
Jiang Luoluo felt a little embarrassed, but obediently ate the food Mu Jianian fed him.
His beautiful eyes curved into crescents, and his voice was sweet as honey as he expressed his gratitude:
“Thank you, husband~”
As he went to fetch orange juice, he naturally missed the brief moment of stunned surprise that flashed across Mu Jianian’s eyes.
It was a flicker of joy that even the most composed person couldn’t help but betray. Mu Jianian’s face momentarily froze in shock, and his hand holding the spoon trembled slightly.
His heart felt as if a soft, fluffy kitten had licked it, or as if a tiny paw had been gently scratching at it.
Suppressing the tumultuous excitement within him, Mu Jianian stroked Jiang Luoluo’s cheek with a look of indulgent tenderness and calm affection.
As if he had heard this familiar term of endearment countless times before.
His handsome, refined face remained composed and serene.
Jiang Luoluo, his head injured, was unfamiliar with everything. Only by Mu Jianian’s side did he feel safe.
Before his afternoon nap, he clutched Mu Jianian’s collar with both small hands, his wet eyes blinking. He whispered, “Hubby~ Can you stay with me, please~?”
Mu Jianian’s heart stirred slightly.
He sent a message to Assistant Tang and carefully cradled Jiang Luoluo in his arms.
His clear, gentle voice was soothing. “Of course.”
Having forgotten everything, Jiang Luoluo was obedient and utterly dependent on him.
Like a clingy little kitten, he couldn’t bear to be separated for even a moment.
But Mu Jianian reveled in it.
He dreamed of returning to that summer, of sheltering the young man under his wings, pulling him close, and keeping him safe within the villa.
He wouldn’t let him leave.
He wouldn’t let him go out.
He wanted Jiang Luoluo’s gaze to fall on only him.
Mu Jianian pulled the blanket up to Jiang Luoluo’s neck and gently patted his back. “Sleep now, Bao Bao.”
The term of endearment made his heart overflow with sweetness.
“Hubby’s right here with you.”
Jiang Luoluo nodded obediently, burying his small head in Mu Jianian’s chest and letting out a tiny yawn.
His voice was soft and sweet. “Hubby~ Can you tell me again how you saved me from the bad guys~?”
Mu Jianian kissed his soft, chubby cheek and repeated the story he’d told himself countless times.
A low voice echoed through the afternoon bedroom, mingling with the dancing sunlight in a scene of serene beauty.
The small hand, withdrawn from his chest, gently touched Mu Jianian’s forehead.
“Does it hurt a lot?”
Mu Jianian looked down at him, his gaze softening. “No, it doesn’t hurt.”
He kissed the person in his arms with utmost care, as if handling a precious, fragile treasure.
“As long as it brings our Bao Bao back, it doesn’t hurt at all.”
The person in his arms curved his eyes in delight, his snow-white face blooming with a sweet smile as he leaned in to kiss Mu Jianian’s chin.
He clenched his tiny fist and waved it in front of Mu Jianian’s eyes. “Next time, Luo Luo will protect Husband~”
Mu Jianian’s heart melted. He held the person close and said, “Okay.”
He gently patted Jiang Luoluo’s back, coaxing him to sleep.
Soon, the steady rhythm of breathing filled his chest.
Jiang Luoluo’s raven-black eyelashes rested against his lower eyelids, casting dense shadows over his delicate skin.
A faint red mark from the button on Mu Jianian’s shirt pressed against his snow-white, tender cheek, while his moist lips were lightly pursed.
He slept peacefully and quietly.
Mu Jianian gazed at his sleeping face, his deep, calm eyes concealing a burning desire. Occasionally, he would lean in to gently kiss his cheek, a fleeting touch.
He could finally start over with his Bao Bao.
Even if it was just a dream he had stolen.
Mu Jianian had just coaxed Luo Luo to sleep when a call came from an unfamiliar number.
He frowned, his expression turning displeased as he stepped outside.
On the other end of the line, Li Chuan’s voice crackled with urgency: “Mu Jianian, where did you take Luo Luo? Are you hiding him? What did you do to him?!”
Mu Jianian leaned one hand on the balcony railing, holding his phone in the other, keeping the furious voice at a distance from his ear.
“What could I possibly do to him?”
Mu Jianian’s voice was soft and tender. “He’s my precious baby, the love of my life. I can’t even spoil him enough.”
“You’re an outsider! Why are you butting in?”
Li Chuan was infuriated by Mu Jianian’s shameless words. “Put Luo Luo on the phone! Otherwise, I’ll report you to the police for illegal detention!”
“Fine,” Mu Jianian replied.
Mu Jianian’s voice drifted through the air. “But he’s napping right now. I’ll have him call you back when he wakes up.”
“I have to go now. My Bao Bao’s scared alone. I need to go comfort him.”
The call ended abruptly, and Li Chuan’s curse was cut off mid-sentence.
Just then, the butler entered with Assistant Tang to deliver documents. Mu Jianian glanced toward the bedroom and went downstairs to his study.
After a video conference in the afternoon to finalize two projects, Mu Jianian turned his gaze from the screen. His long fingers had just reached for his water glass when he heard footsteps outside the door.
He looked up as the study door opened.
Jiang Luo Luo stood in the doorway, wearing pure white ankle socks on the dark wood floor. A strand of his light golden hair stuck up, and his eyes were still hazy with sleep.
He looked as if he were trying not to disturb Mu Jianian, or perhaps trying to suppress his fear.
His soft, milky voice trembled as he called out hesitantly, “Husband…?”
