ATIGIBTC Chapter 140

Extra 4

A celebrity, in He Fang’s eyes, is a magical existence. Someone who can sway the moods of a large group of fans, possessing an attractive appearance and very unique abilities, carrying the hopes of countless people, and also making a lot of money.

He Fang didn’t chase after stars, but he knew the feeling of liking a character, so he could understand what it was like to be a fan.

But he never thought the words “celebrity” would ever apply to him.

Until today.

He Fang felt like he had become a celebrity.

His nervous hands kept rubbing the other half of the Divine Lord. Walking beside the Divine Lord, he saw the people around him all looking at him one by one. Everyone’s expressions were unique, not uniform. But He Fang could see the same admiration for him in those different faces.

He Fang had social anxiety; this feeling was as terrifying as throwing a normal person into a crowd of zombies. But He Fang tried hard to give himself a mental suggestion—that he was a cat lover, covered in catnip, walking into a cat café.

Besides…

These people were really beautiful.

He Fang forced himself to hold his head high and chest out. He didn’t want those who expected something from him to see a timid city lord curled up in fear.

Because of this, He Fang couldn’t help but notice the appearances of these people. They were too good-looking. This world of everyone having model-like faces made He Fang once again feel like he was playing a game.

He Fang rarely walked openly under the broad daylight, but it seemed that wherever he went, a vacuum zone automatically formed around him. Everyone looked like they wanted to approach but dared not, afraid of scaring him. Though they tried hard to suppress their fear, He Fang could still feel their kindness.

He Fang was extremely nervous. The Divine Lord could feel from his other half that the palms of He Fang’s hands were sweating from tension. Looking at the people beside them—each obviously wanting to take a look—and noticing that He Fang did not refuse, they became even more unrestrained, like they were observing some rare and exotic creature.

The Divine Lord lowered his head to look at He Fang, then glanced at the crowd again, before leaning down to whisper something into He Fang’s ear.

He Fang blinked and then looked back over his shoulder, stunned.

Unknowingly, a large group of people had gathered behind him.

When they saw He Fang turn around to look at them, they instinctively stopped in their tracks, not daring to step forward, their gazes darting about nervously.

A large group of people with wandering eyes looked quite comical.

He Fang scratched his head. The Divine Lord told him that everyone was waiting for their dear Creator to show them some favor.

He Fang didn’t know what favor meant, so he tried to recall how all the celebrities had behaved when facing their fans before.

But unfortunately, he had never truly been a fan himself, so he didn’t know how celebrities treated their fans. Still… he figured it probably involved waving a hand? On second thought, comparing himself to a celebrity didn’t seem quite right. Maybe in this world, he should be more like… a national leader? Suddenly, He Fang found a point of reference. He hadn’t chased stars, but he had participated in military training.

He Fang straightened his chest, forced a slight smile, and, imitating the image of the school leader he remembered, raised his hand and waved at the crowd.

Receiving He Fang’s wave, everyone froze for a moment, then suddenly erupted into a terrifying scream. He Fang was stunned.

“Creator, Creator, I love you, I love you ahhhhhh!”

“Creator, I’ve always written letters to you. Can I give them to you? Can I send them to you?”

“Creator, thank you, thank you for creating everything. Thank you for letting me see you.”

The confessions ringing out all around made He Fang blush uncontrollably. Where had he ever seen a scene like this before?

He Fang opened his mouth, wanting to say something. But in this chaotic situation, there was no way to speak properly. Unexpectedly, just the simple act of opening his mouth instantly quieted the fervent residents.

He Fang was a bit surprised. Such a frightening, organized silence. Each of these people was truly very perceptive. Thinking carefully, their extremely high attribute values probably proved that they were definitely different from the ordinary people he knew.

But their feelings should be the same; otherwise, they wouldn’t be so capable of understanding what it felt like to like him.

He Fang glanced up at the Divine Lord and noticed his expression was very different from how he usually looked at He Fang—cold and silent, with eyes as sharp and cold as metal. Suddenly, He Fang realized that as the NPC manager, the Divine Lord should naturally be like this: indifferent, fair, and just.

He Fang looked at the Divine Lord just to confirm he was by his side. This gave him the courage to speak.

“You don’t have to follow me all the time.” His fingers unconsciously touched the little doll, which looked up at him. “Everyone can go do their own things. I… in the future, there will be many chances to interact and spend time with all of you. I will… come out to see you often, not necessarily today, but later on, I will try… to overcome this… um, try hard to meet more of you.”

He could feel the brightness in everyone’s eyes growing after he finished speaking. These people were extremely beautiful. When joy appeared on their faces, they became even more stunning, almost indescribably beautiful. Making a beautiful person smile was something many did instinctively, including He Fang.

“In the future, I’ll see… I will often do things I can do. Don’t worry, this won’t be the last time.” Nervousness flickered slightly in He Fang’s eyes as he tried to show a friendly smile. “You can disperse now. I won’t run away.”

He Fang didn’t know if these people truly heard his words, but at least after he finished, though reluctant, the residents obediently dispersed.

He Fang didn’t know if this was because of his “order” or if they genuinely chose to leave.

“How was it?” the Divine Lord asked.

He Fang lifted his eyes and pressed his lips together. “Is it really enough to just say that one sentence to give them a sense of security?”

“Yes,” the Divine Lord replied.

“Really? Just saying that? Aren’t they afraid I’m lying to them?” The simple sentence the Divine Lord whispered into his ear back then—just asking him to make a small promise—was apparently enough.

“You have never deceived us. So whatever you say, we will believe.”

The Divine Lord’s words made He Fang feel uneasy. He unconsciously gripped the little doll in his palm and looked ahead, noticing people passing by him.

“Mom, that’s the Creator!” a sudden voice came from beside him. He Fang immediately looked over and saw a small child, very beautiful, impossible to tell the gender. The child’s mother smiled, holding the child in her arms, and together they bowed to He Fang.

He Fang instinctively wanted to bow back, but the Divine Lord gently tugged the collar at the back of his neck.

In the end, He Fang just waved his hand. Yet with this single gesture, he saw the little child break into a joyful smile, eyes full of happiness.

“They look so happy,” He Fang quietly said beside the Divine Lord.

“They really are very happy,” the Divine Lord confirmed He Fang’s observation.

He Fang gently stroked the little doll in his hand. “Would Zhu Yan and the others be this happy to see me, too?”

“Go see for yourself and you’ll know,” the Divine Lord said.

The Divine Lord’s words made He Fang feel a little insecure.

Even though he now had this miraculous identity as the “Creator”, the people he was about to face were truly top-level elites. Big shots protected by groups of bodyguards in real life, pillars of the nation, lights of the world. These were not the kind of top experts someone like him, who stayed at home, could ever casually meet.

He Fang felt a bit nervous.

He hadn’t expected that the people he had been ordering around all this time were actually so impressive.

Games are different from reality. In games, so-called “research” suddenly succeeds. At most, it just takes some time, progress bars, or money. That’s completely different from reality.

But here, this was reality. That meant the things he had asked Zhu Yan to do before were all truly based on real things in this world. They were genuinely grounded in theory and only succeeded after countless experiments.

The more He Fang thought about it, the more terrifying it felt. Someone like Zhu Yan was a true polymath. What kind of city could design such a formidable NPC? If this were the real world, He Fang would even want to go learn from them.

Sitting in the passenger seat, the Divine Lord was driving. He Fang suddenly asked, “Outside the main city, people all use flying vehicles to get around. Why do they still use two wheels to run around inside the various cities?”

“If you wish, He Fang, that can be arranged now,” the Divine Lord said with a smile. “It’s just that everyone prefers to continue living according to the Creator’s original design.”

He Fang was stunned. Did that mean they were deliberately maintaining the world as he had created it?

He Fang felt a bit guilty. “Am I suppressing their development?”

But the Divine Lord laughed, “All of them were born in a rapidly developing world and have never cared about whether they start to develop quickly again.”

He Fang was somewhat confused. But he seemed to understand that the Divine Lord was telling him not to feel burdened.

What everyone was doing now was what they wanted to do.

He Fang looked out the window, gazing at the city he had created. Ordinary, no different from his own city, but situated in this technologically advanced world—even with moving cities—it really didn’t look impressive enough.

“If only I had been bolder when I created it back then.”

“But if I created something too novel, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to control it well, and that the creation might be flawed—something I couldn’t fix later.”

“But I can still make some modifications based on the current state.”

“All those strange things designed by the research institute back then might actually be useful. I’ll take a look at the city package later.”

He Fang muttered to himself, constantly reflecting on whether he had done something not well enough or if there were places he should improve.

The Divine Lord kept his eyes fixed ahead, but had a helpless smile on his lips. Their Creator—he never knew how good his own work truly was.

Their Creator, always hoping they would become better and better.

From afar, the research institute, nestled halfway up the mountain, looked magnificent. He Fang looked at the institute bathed in light and couldn’t help but feel nervous. The whole way had been smooth. Finally, they arrived at the foot of the institute building.

Though he had been here many times before, he had never felt this nervous.

He Fang stood in front of the institute’s door.

He reached out his hand; the sensing door slowly opened. In He Fang’s eyes, a scatter of delicate light poured down. Inside the sunlit hall, a bright white gleam reflected in He Fang’s gaze.
