The female lead, Xiao Sun, felt her old, pervy heart grow cold and desolate.

They knew their father had to work, so even though they missed him terribly every day, they held back and waited until the weekend to see him.

Doubao pressed his chubby face against his father’s neck.

 

“Daddy, didi and I missed you so much. Did you miss me and didi?”

Lu Xi gave each bun a kiss. “Of course I did. How could I not? I thought about you while eating, while filming, and if I don’t look at my two handsome, charming buns before bed, I couldn’t sleep at all.”

Dahl simply picked up Doubao with one arm and carried the suitcase with the other.

 

It was the same last week. Lu Xi was concerned, but Dahl said: “It’s not tiring at all. I can carry both young masters at home.”

Pete wiped the corner of his mouth. Damn, there really was drool. He smiled awkwardly and said, “I brought some meat and vegetables. I ordered them this morning; they’re very fresh. Isn’t Dahl going to cook?”

 

Last weekend, Dahl had personally cooked.

 

The suite had a small kitchen where they could cook.

Soon, the aroma of food wafted from the room.

 

Dahl made sweet and sour pork ribs, stir-fried seasonal vegetables, and a fish soup. It was quite generous. Lu Xi didn’t want him to go through the trouble of making a whole table of dishes; something simple was fine, especially since they were away from home.

 

When Peter took his first bite of the ribs, he pretended to cry, “It’s so delicious. If I had Dahl-ge‘s skills, I would have found a partner long ago.”

Dahl smiled warmly.

After dinner, Lu Xi planned to take Doubao and Dougao for a walk in the hotel garden. The city was relatively small, but the establishment of a film studio significantly enhanced its service industry. The hotel grounds were huge, with a beautifully landscaped garden like a small park.

“Looks great. Nice and green.” Daddy Xiao Lu praised without thinking.

 

The two little lambs skipped and jumped as they went off to play.

 

There was a children’s play area in the garden with slides and little swings. The buns climbed up and down happily, while Daddy Xiao Lu sat nearby, smiling with fatherly warmth.

 

The kind father smiled for a moment and said, “Daddy will sit on the bench and watch you play.”

 

Before anyone noticed it, a mist rose.

 

A tall man walked out of the thin mist, his face cold and aloof as he looked down at the two children on the slide.

“Dougao, it’s Da– that person.” Doubao covered his mouth with his chubby little hand.

 

He almost slipped up.

 

Dougao had seen him long ago. He gave a cool nod and stood in front of Doubao.

 

Doubao peeked out from behind his little brother’s back. Remembering something, his eyes held little stars as he asked, “Can you sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Uncle?” Daddy said children should be polite.

 

Upon hearing this, Xie Zhuhan frowned.

 

“You can’t? Daddy was right.” Doubao sighed.

 

The other daddy is so silly.

 

Xie Zhuhan walked to the slide. He really didn’t like these two children.

 

“Uncle, what’s your name? We met last time. I’m Doubao, he’s my didi, Dougao. Do you remember?” Doubao perked up. Even if this other daddy was dumb, he couldn’t let himself be too disappointed.
