WCHM Chapter 11

[First World – Campus Romance Plot] Chapter 11

Lu Chi paused, staring at Liang Jiashu with a trace of curious amusement in his eyes, as if watching a handsome monkey suddenly speak fluent human language.

But clearly, Liang Jiashu was far more persistent than any monkey on earth. When Lu Chi didn’t respond, he simplygrabbed him again and led him to a secluded corner outside the club, exuding such an intimidating aura that even innocent passersby instinctively fled the scene.

Inside the nightclub lay Gu Yanyan, his condition unknown while he was busy bleeding out. Next to him, Liang Zhiyu was also busy, trembling like a frightened animal.

But Liang Jiashu was like a blind man, utterly ignoring the violence and bloodshed, as if none of it mattered.

His pitch-black eyes only saw Lu Chi, as if he only had eyes for him.

Lu Chi looked back at the young man, then, after a moment, gave a small smile and asked: “So what you’re saying is… You want to be with me?”

Liang Jiashu thought seriously for a moment, then replied with rigid precision: “To be specific, I want to be your boyfriend first, and date you. In two years, when I am of legal age, I’ll propose to you on your birthday. We can register as legal partners abroad, then spend several years honeymooning around the world. Wherever you like, we’ll settle there. Whatever pet you want to raise, we’ll raise it together.” Reaching this part, he paused, then added: “I have cars, property, and assets. I can cover all your expenses and give you a very good life. You’ll have more money than you can spend, but the term of our deal has to be until death.”

Lu Chi: “……”

It was probably the first time ever Liang Jiashu had spoken at such length, spitting so many words per second. For a moment, even he frowned ever so slightly in discomfort, probably feeling his throat run dry.

And yet, his delivery was smooth and practiced, as if he’d prepared that speech since the moment they first met… And now was simply the live demonstration after countless rehearsals.

Silence filled the air.

Lu Chi stood against the wall, quiet and unreadable.

Just as Liang Jiashu’s expression began to tighten and his gaze sharpened, Lu Chi finally raised a hand to his lips, clenched it in a fist, and began to laugh.

His laughter was like a breeze skimming across still water, like osmanthus petals fluttering down in autumn… Soft and soothing, instantly dissolving the tension in the air.

Even Liang Jiashu seemed to quietly exhale, the sharpness in his features easing as he looked at Lu Chi. He felt that, perhaps, the few lines he’d practiced so earnestly had worked after all. Waiting for Lu Chi to finish laughing, he then politely asked: “So… You agree?”

“…”

Agree to what?!

To play along with your award-worthy performance?!

After all, Lu Chi hadn’t forgotten the constant spying, stalking, and covert surveillance. The young man in front of him was the same weirdo who had followed him, kidnapped him, and threatened him from their very first meeting.

A man who, in the original novel, was described as eccentric and aloof, basically a high-functioning psychopath.

And now, here he was…

Suddenly trying to act like the romantic lead in some sentimental love story?!

Lu Chi leaned back against the wall and laughed a while longer. Then, finally, he said, “Liang Jiashu, do you actuallythink you’re good at acting? You watched a few romance films, memorized some lines from novels, and now you’re here putting on a solo performance… Didn’t anyone ever tell you?” His eyes curved in a smile, voice soft and sincere as he continued: “You pretending to be normal is even funnier than Liang Zhiyu pretending to be deep.”

At least Liang Zhiyu was just stupid. But Liang Jiashu was like a patient, cunning predator. When intimidation didn’t work, he immediately changed tactics, imitating the appearance of a normal person, seemingly sincere as he offered all the worldly things most people craved: money, power, comfort…

But never once did he mention the price.

Nor did he ever ask what Lu Chi actually wanted.

Like a wild beast, he shoved a pile of “gifts” forward all on his own, then forced Lu Chi to accept a lifelong contract…

…One where even the fine print read: “Until death.”

But what it truly meant was: Before I lose interest in you, your life and death will remain in my hands.

What a self-deluded, so-called “normal” control freak.

A breeze stirred through the night as Lu Chi suddenly stopped. Under the lights, the sweet smile still lingered in his pretty eyes, but the words that came out were like a sharp whip, lashing across Liang Jiashu’s face and stripping away all the flowery pretense, exposing the cold and cruel trap beneath.

He was frighteningly sharp and perceptive.

Liang Jiashu abruptly remembered that night they first met. After Lu Chi had publicly slapped Liang Zhiyu across the face, his cousin had actually blushed in embarrassment, a look that Liang Jiashu found nauseating.

But now… He realized he was even more disgusting.

Lu Chi had seen through his wordplay with ease, then metaphorically slapped him right back. And yet, all Liang Jiashu felt was an uncontrollable rush of arousal.

It was like that moment in the bathroom, staring at Lu Chi’s photo… Only that this time around, the surging waves hit him way stronger.

Because Lu Chi was truly looking at him now. He had finally looked away from those two useless trash heaps… And looked at him.

He understood him.

Better than anyone else ever had.

That realization made Liang Jiashu’s breath grow heavy while a wave of raw, uncontainable pleasure surged through him. Lu Chi noticed how the young man suddenly took a step back with his head ducked and his chest rising and falling fast, completely silent.

It was only then that Lu Chi recalled Liang Jiashu’s real age. Barely twenty. In fact, his birthday had been just two months ago.

…Could it be that his words had hit too hard and hurt the little freak’s fragile heart?

Lu Chi watched him for a moment before deciding not to waste time worrying about whether he’d just traumatized a twenty-year-old. Instead, he chose to end the conversation cleanly: “Liang Jiashu, I was just baiting you. I never intended to date you.”

“So stop saying that useless crap.”

He then turned to leave, but a voice came from behind, hoarse and resolute:

“You care.”

“……”

Lu Chi’s footsteps paused as Liang Jiashu raised his head. His jet-black eyes burned with an almost animalistic instinct as he stared at Lu Chi’s back, saying in his raspy voice: “You care about what I said. That’s why you resist it.”

“If you didn’t care, you wouldn’t react at all, just like you do with Liang Zhiyu or Gu Yanyan. Whether it’s praise or insult, truth or provocation, you never react.”

Lu Chi turned around slowly, looking at him. After a moment, he smiled and asked: “Oh yeah?”

Liang Jiashu: “Yes.”

Lu Chi kept his eyes on him, that same faint smile on his lips. “Go on, then,” he said.

Liang Jiashu froze for a second as his Adam’s apple bobbed sharply and his heart hammered faster. Suddenly, he felt like a student in class, being called on and stared at by the teacher, overtaken by a desperate need to prove himself.

But… Prove what?

That he wasn’t just throwing around empty words?

That he wasn’t full of lies and manipulations?

Or… That he wasn’t treating Lu Chi like just another disposable toy?

“You hate lies, but you’ve grown used to pretending,” Liang Jiashu started saying. “Liang Zhiyu isn’t worth your time or effort, so you slapped him in public and gave him a sliver of comfort afterward. He’s been beaten at home since he was a kid, so he fears violence but has learned to wield it. And all it took was one cold bottle of champagne on his swollen face to turn him into a dog chasing at your heels.”

Lu Chi blinked, never expecting to hear something that wasn’t in the original plot he received. Liang Jiashu locked onto his expression like a researcher monitoring critical data. Seeing no response, he went on: “Gu Yanyan’s parents died in a construction accident. He was raised by his grandparents and watched his uncle lose a finger to debt collectors. That’s why he’s obsessed with money, respects strength, and resents anyone doing better than him…

…You’re both good-looking and powerful, kind yet poised, exactly the type of person he dreams of becoming. So you didn’t even need to slap him before he naturally began copying you, idolizing you. However, one day…”

“He’ll tear you down with his own hands, as soon as he’s able to.”

In the darkness, Liang Jiashu’s expression was sharp and cold, like a god looking down on the weak from above and dissecting their every desire, every flaw.

Night wind swept through once again.

Lu Chi listened lazily, even tilting slightly as he leaned back against the cold wall. When Liang Jiashu finally stopped talking, he asked with a smile:

“That’s all?”

Liang Jiashu’s pupils reflected the calm, easy control in the man’s expression. Lu Chi always seemed to be just like that… An untouchable butterfly, fluttering lightly in the air and glittering as it passed before one’s eyes.

He was far too clever, so how could the petty schemes of Liang Zhiyu or Gu Yanyan possibly escape his notice?

The only reason he didn’t call them out was simply that he didn’t care.

But just now… Lu Chi had exposed his manipulation without the slightest hesitation. Liang Jiashu immediately understood that Lu Chi actually reacted to his words.

Or perhaps… Lu Chi had an emotional trigger to that particular kind of manipulation.

But why?

Had Lu Chi been deceived before?

Did he carry some emotional trauma?

Had he just found Lu Chi’s rare, vulnerable soft spot?

That thought hit Liang Jiashu like a bolt of thunder, sending an electric thrill through his whole body and leaving him tingling with a dangerous sort of excitement. And yet, after a brief moment of silence, his first instinct was to step closer and gently take Lu Chi’s wrist in his hand.

Like cradling a delicate jade sculpture.

His palm was scorching hot, and the touch clung to Lu Chi’s skin like the familiar sensation of a sticky ghost hanging on to him, impossible to shake off or drive away. Lu Chi didn’t resist, simply looking up and meeting his eyes. Liang Jiashu continued: “But I’m different. I’m not like them.”

Surprisingly, Lu Chi nodded, agreeing with that statement. However, he asked, his tone dry: “You mean the stalking, kidnapping, and intimidation techniques?”

Fair enough.

Most people didn’t have the guts or resources to break the law quite so flagrantly.

Liang Jiashu pressed his lips together. After a second of thought, he muttered a low, awkward apology: “I apologize… For how abrupt I was before. Last night I really did search a lot of guides online. But I didn’t lie to you.”

“Lu Chi, I can really keep the promises I made. I can give you everything you want.”

Lu Chi raised an eyebrow. “Such as?” he asked.

Liang Jiashu answered solemnly: “For starters, I can play the role of a good boyfriend. You have a sweet tooth, and you especially like ice cream. You hate the heat and never go out without a parasol. You’re always polite when you speak, especially kind to older people.”

The young man lowered his head slightly, his voice soft and cautious, as if afraid that if he used one more line from How to Capture the Heart of a Seductive Beauty: 101, he’d be permanently blocked.

They stood very close and, soon enough, a subtle herbal scent drifted between them. With his mind blank, Lu Chi realized that Liang Jiashu was even wearing cologne. Then, his gaze slipped downward, noticing the Audemars Piguet watch on the young man’s wrist.

Liang Jiashu never wore accessories.

So that day, he’d clearly come dressed for courtship.

And yet, sensing he might have touched on something sensitive, Liang Jiashu’s entire expression looked like it wanted to scream: “I’m sorry, let’s change the subject!!”

Just moments ago, he was still laying down traps, but now, he was clearly afraid that Lu Chi might cry.

Lu Chi chuckled softly, finding the young man both contradictory and transparent, dangerous, but also hilarious. So he raised his hand and, without warning, yanked Liang Jiashu forward.

Young Master Liang wasn’t expecting that type of move at all. He stumbled slightly and instinctively reached out to brace himself, palm flat against the wall and one arm on the other side of Lu Chi, effectively caging him in. From the outside, it looked like Liang Jiashu had backed Lu Chi into a corner and pulled him into an embrace.

His herbal cologne grew stronger in the small space as Liang Jiashu stiffened, unfamiliar with such close contact. His throat bobbed in a sharp swallow.

“…Lu Chi.”

At the same time, Lu Chi reached out with icy fingers, casually pinching the back of Liang Jiashu’s neck, treating him like a desperate mutt who was begging to be adopted.

If that’s what he wanted, then so be it.

At that close distance, Lu Chi leaned in with a smile, his gorgeous eyes curving like crescent moons as he whispered beside Liang Jiashu’s ear:

“Liang Jiashu, I don’t want a boyfriend.”

“What I want is an obedient little pet.”

“So tell me… Can you become like that for me?”
