The tips of her ears immediately turned completely red.
Even knowing it was her fiancée, Lin Jianheng couldn’t handle being kissed so suddenly.
She never had such worries before. During her school days, she and her good friends were naturally very close, hugging and kissing—she had kissed them everywhere except the lips.
That stopped after her best friend came out, though.
Now, Lin Jianheng had entered a world where everyone was a lesbian, and the person kissing her was her fiancée in name.
The poor straight girl was only now learning what it felt like to be shy.
She froze on the spot, eyes wide, the backs of her ears burning.
This was her… fiancée.
The person she was supposed to marry.
A very elegant, swan-like beautiful woman.
…But she couldn’t marry her!
Lin Jianheng quietly lifted her eyelashes, her gaze fixed on her fiancée, Li Zhaoge, as beads of sweat began to form one by one.
Was it too late to say she was against marriage?
Li Zhaoge sat down across from Lin Jianheng, adjusting her clothes.
In her original world, Lin Jianheng had actually loved seeing women in suits.
She always found them proper, abstinent, and possessing a unique charm.
But at the time, she thought she just wanted to dress that way herself. She treated bloggers with “lesbian” tags as fashion bloggers, learning how to coordinate outfits and buying trendy accessories.
Because of this, her best friend had given her strange looks for a while.
But now…
She imagined what this outfit would look like on Yan Su.
Yan Su usually had a cold and detached expression. Without any embellishment, she was like a lotus emerging from the water, so tender you could almost squeeze water from her skin, yet she was like an icy spring, cold to the touch.
She was the most suitable person to wear this kind of clothing.
Right. I should buy some clothes for Yan Su.
It was too pitiful for such a beautiful woman to only wear pajamas all day.
Lin Jianheng’s mind wandered, her thoughts no longer on Li Zhaoge.
Li Zhaoge cleared her throat, picked up her teacup, and poured a cup for Lin Jianheng as well.
“Did you miss me, little sweetheart?” Her voice had a British flavor to it.
Like an old-fashioned noble who would stroll through foggy old streets holding a floral umbrella.
The sound sent a tingle through Lin Jianheng’s ears.
It was a voice she liked; she really wanted to learn how to speak like that.
“Of course I missed you.” Lin Jianheng immediately put on a smiling face.
Since it was a political marriage, her fiancée Li Zhaoge’s family background wouldn’t be much worse than the Jian family’s, and might even be better.
As long as the engagement wasn’t broken off, she still had to get along with her.
Besides, the woman was truly beautiful. Even if they did get married in the future, as long as they treated each other with mutual respect and didn’t do… that, she would be more than happy.
As the saying goes, having a beauty at home is a feast for the eyes.
“I heard Xiao Heng went through her second development. I haven’t congratulated you yet.” The voice, like a gentle rain, reached Lin Jianheng’s ears again.
Hearing this made her ears burn again. The previous blush hadn’t faded, and now they turned as red as chili peppers.
Is this the best proof of how much she missed me? Li Zhaoge thought nonchalantly.
“Thanks, I only found out yesterday…” Lin Jianheng watched as Li Zhaoge reached out and pressed down on her collar.
The one who tensed up was her. Her throat tightened, stuck in place, a noticeable lump forming.
Li Zhaoge was just smoothing out a wrinkle on her collar.
It was a very normal gesture for an engaged couple. Yet it made Lin Jianheng so nervous she wanted to grab Yan Su and run 800 meters.
It must be the word “fiancée” that was making her nervous.
Damn it, I need to act the way I usually do with my good friends! Otherwise, Jian Lingxuan will find out!
“You still remember I like blue. Xiao Heng is so cute.” Li Zhaoge withdrew her hand and winked at Lin Jianheng.
But she was wearing blue because it reminded her of Yan Su’s eyes!
Lin Jianheng didn’t dare let it show. She quickly adjusted her demeanor and winked back at Li Zhaoge. “Of course I remember what Sister Zhaoge likes. We’re fiancées, after all.”
She had successfully replaced “we’re good friends” with “we’re fiancées.”
Her words left Li Zhaoge stunned for a moment. The effect seemed pretty good.
A flicker of light crossed Li Zhaoge’s eyes, and a moment later, she smiled again. “Let’s have dinner together tonight? After all, it’s been so long.”
Interesting. Hasn’t Jian Lingxuan noticed?
“As long as my sister doesn’t exploit me.” She needed to send a message to the AI Butler to tell Yan Su she’d be home late.
Coming home late yesterday had caused problems… She really needed to buy Yan Su a phone.
“Exploit you? With your skills?” Jian Lingxuan was sitting at her desk nearby, a lollipop in her mouth, looking quite disdainful.
“Then it’s settled. Message me half an hour before you get off work, and I’ll come pick you up.” Li Zhaoge prepared to leave.
Lin Jianheng was a little dazed by the fast pace of events.
Just for one meeting, her sister had told her to dress more formally. Was this really right?
“Even if you can’t bear to see me go, I have to leave. I still have work, sweetheart.” Li Zhaoge’s eyes were like hands, caressing Lin Jianheng’s cheek and lingering for a moment by her reddened ear.
The door closed again. Lin Jianheng, trying not to be too obvious, finally let out a sigh of relief.
“It’s been a long time. She seems a little different,” Lin Jianheng said tentatively, leaning back on the sofa.
Jian Lingxuan was busy working and replied casually. “Two years is a long time.”
“…” Whoa. She had assumed the original owner and her fiancée had a good relationship, which was why she had just put on that act. After all, her fiancée seemed to like her a lot.
Now she was screwed.
Wait a minute. A fiancée she hadn’t seen in two years rushes over to see her the moment she hears about her second development. Doesn’t that feel a bit off?
Lacking information, Lin Jianheng simply stared at Jian Lingxuan without blinking.
Could it be that these people were all conspiring to deceive her?
At the very least, she needed to search for the surname Li, and her fiancée’s name.
As Lin Jianheng’s thoughts ran wild, Jian Lingxuan suddenly called out to her.
“Take it. Your work.” Jian Lingxuan handed her a proposal.
Lin “Top Finance Student” Jianheng felt a headache coming on as she looked at the familiar document.
I thought I was supposed to have transmigrated into an ignorant, good-for-nothing rich kid! I want to lie back and enjoy the good life!
“Sis, didn’t you promise not to exploit me? I’m a hedonist who bought her diploma.” Lin Jianheng gritted her teeth, unable to do anything about Jian Lingxuan, on the verge of tears.
Jian Lingxuan took the lollipop out of her mouth and shot Lin Jianheng a look that was both disdainful and strange.
“If you can’t finish this little bit of work before the end of the day, don’t you dare say you’re part of the Jian family.”
Lin Jianheng fell silent.
Lin Jianheng was kicked out of the office.
Lin Jianheng’s rebellion against her sister’s tyranny failed today!
Lin Jianheng spent the whole morning reading through the proposal, leaving her dizzy and muddle-headed.
She had a feeling that this wasn’t something a “hedonist” like her was supposed to be able to do.
But then again, this was the interstellar era. Could it be that even hedonists nowadays were more capable than her?
Lin Jianheng could still complete it using the knowledge from her past life, but she questioned whether it was necessary.
She decided to take out her phone and ask the AI Butler about Yan Su’s situation.
The AI Butler always replied instantly. That was the good thing about AI.
Lin Jianheng looked at the video in the projection; it was indeed from the AI Butler’s flying saucer perspective.
She could type or use voice commands.
In her own office, Lin Jianheng started a voice call.
“Butler, did Sister Yan have lunch?” She felt that asking Yan Su directly wasn’t very reliable.
The succubus would only reply with things like “Master doesn’t need to worry about me.”
It was better to ask the AI; at least the AI wouldn’t lie.
“Replying to Little Miss, Miss Yan Su ate yesterday’s leftovers, but not much.” The AI Butler always spoke in that same stiff, formal tone.
“I can’t come back for dinner tonight either… Can you remind her to eat more this evening?” As they spoke, the AI Butler had already moved to Yan Su’s side.
The video feed stuttered for a moment. Lin Jianheng thought it was normal and didn’t pay it much mind.
The proposal Jian Lingxuan had given her was sitting beside her, and she was multitasking while talking to the AI Butler.
The AI Butler’s voice came through the holographic earpiece, as if it were right there beside Lin Jianheng.
“Understood, Little Miss. Miss Yan Su, the Little Miss has something to discuss with you.”
Lin Jianheng saw Yan Su, who had been staring blankly out the window, turn her head.
Since the AI Butler was facilitating the connection, it couldn’t leave either.
Yan Su stood up and walked over to the AI Butler.
“Master.” Yan Su’s voice sounded no different from this morning.
“Sister Yan. Are you okay? You can use anything in the house, don’t hold back. That includes the fridge. You need to eat when you’re hungry, you’re too thin.”
Lin Jianheng still didn’t know how to tell Yan Su about her fiancée.
She still hadn’t figured out her fiancée Li Zhaoge’s attitude towards her, or even the original owner’s attitude towards Li Zhaoge.
But she should probably mention it, right…?
Reporting her fiancée’s actions to her roommate seemed strange.
Well, what if her fiancée wanted to visit the house?
Lin Jianheng composed herself.
Yan Su’s voice also came through the holographic earpiece.
“Is that an order from Master?”
The phrase sounded familiar to Lin Jianheng, and she laughed, as if to soothe her. “If you need to treat it as an order to take good care of yourself, then…”
“Then it is.” Just like when she had ordered Yan Su to sleep on the bed.
The communication quality in the interstellar era was very clear.
Lin Jianheng could see the blush on Yan Su’s cheeks.
Her succubus was still the cutest. She wouldn’t play mind games with her or test her.
She was also the first person to know her secret and be completely honest with her.
Lin Jianheng really wanted to go home and keep Yan Su company.
Being home alone, unable to connect to the optical computer, with no electronic devices to play with, must be very boring.
“Understood, Master. I… I will obey your command.” Yan Su averted her eyes, her tail wagging happily.
Lin Jianheng stared at her tail for a second and almost burst out laughing.
What a dead giveaway.
She was just like a tsundere border collie: cold and aloof on the surface, proud and arrogant, but her tail betrayed everything.
“Also, I have to come home a little late, so you don’t have to wait for me. Go ahead and eat dinner first. If you want, we can have a late-night snack together when I get back. And there’s something else I need to tell you.”
She would tell Yan Su after she confirmed her fiancée’s attitude.
“Okay, Master. I will wait for you to come back.”
Lin Jianheng gave the AI Butler a few more instructions and ended the call.
She stretched, thinking that this place might not be safe. She completed a proper version of the proposal on her optical computer, then scribbled a random one to hand in to Jian Lingxuan later.
What she didn’t know was that all the images she had just seen had been altered by the AI.
The real scene was far from the heartwarming one she had witnessed.
Yan Su was forced into a corner, unable to make a sound the entire time, her body covered in sweat.
She could only listen to Lin Jianheng’s words and the AI Butler’s simulated voice going back and forth.
Now the call was over.
The AI Butler turned off the simulated screen and squatted down.
Yan Su felt the riot of spiritual power within her, her brow furrowed in pain.
For the first time, she was looking forward to Lin Jianheng’s return this much.
