TSBSPAAM Chapter 46

Orange Sunset

Chapter 46: Orange Sunset

Waking up the next day, the window was filled with red clouds. It was a sunny day.

Recently, Shen Bumian had been seeing Chen Hebin frequently. Qin Luzhi said that Chen Hebin was pursuing Zhou Yizhou.

Shen Bumian had asked Zhou Yizhou in the dorm, “Zhouzhou, what do you think of Chen Hebin?”

Zhou Yizhou’s eyes darted away, and one could see his ears were a little red. “Huh? Why are you suddenly talking about him?”

Shen Bumian and Zhou Yizhou were playing that mecha game, their hands never stopping. “It’s just that he seems to have been very attentive recently. I wanted to ask your opinion of him.”

Zhou Yizhou pressed the wrong key, and his screen went gray. He took off his glasses and looked at Shen Bumian, who was still playing, and pursed his lips. “Well, I think he’s a pretty good person?”

Shen Bumian chuckled softly as his mecha on the screen took out an opponent. “Just a pretty good person? I think you two are a good match. I thought you might have some ideas?”

Zhou Yizhou instantly started to stutter. He could see Shen Bumian’s teasing now. Mianmian has learned some bad habits, he thought.

“What about you, then? What do you think of Qin Luzhi? I think you two are a good match too.”

The scene from his dream flashed through Shen Bumian’s mind. The tips of his ears grew hot, his hands faltered for a moment, and his screen also went gray.

He didn’t take off his glasses. It took him a long moment to remember to answer Zhou Yizhou’s question.

“Qin Luzhi, huh? He seems pretty cold, and very proud. I remember he doesn’t seem to like omegas. If he heard you say he’s a good match with an omega, he’d probably give you the cold shoulder.”

Zhou Yizhou could tell that Shen Bumian was avoiding the question. He was about to say something more when he saw a message from Chen Hebin on his terminal.

Dusk had arrived. Perhaps nothing could compare to the orange-red sunset at this moment.

So thought Chen Hebin as he looked at Zhou Yizhou by his side.

For the past few days, for some unknown reason, it was as if Chen Si had nothing to do. He frequently wandered around the First Military Academy, occasionally circling around Zhou Yizhou and Shen Bumian.

Because of this, Chen Hebin had spent much less time with Zhou Yizhou than in the previous two months. Chen Si would use the excuse of “friends catching up” to tell others not to disturb their trio of childhood sweethearts.

Chen Hebin was very frustrated, but there was nothing he could do. Although Zhou Yizhou seemed to despise Chen Si on the surface and the two often bickered, Chen Hebin could see that Zhou Yizhou had been very happy these past few days. Perhaps it was because Chen Si enlivened the atmosphere that the two omegas’ daily training seemed less tiring.

Today, Chen Si was finally not around. Chen Hebin couldn’t resist wanting to find Zhou Yizhou and sent him a message asking if they could have dinner together.

He actually didn’t have much hope, but to his surprise, Zhou Yizhou actually agreed.

He was about to rush out the door when he was stopped by his roommate. “Going to find that little junior from the first year again?”

Chen Hebin hadn’t hidden the fact that he liked Zhou Yizhou from his close friends; quite a few people knew. He scratched his head, his face filled with irrepressible joy. “Yeah.”

He still remembered his roommate stroking his chin with a profound look. “You’d better hurry up. I saw an Alpha hand him a love letter yesterday, but he was intercepted by his handsome childhood friend.”

That one sentence alerted Chen Hebin twice. They couldn’t tell who Chen Si liked. It seemed like he liked Zhou Yizhou, but he also gave them the feeling that he admired Shen Bumian. In short, he was a definite threat.

Chen Hebin was silent for a while. No one in the dorm spoke. He thought to himself that he really couldn’t delay any longer.

The First Military Academy had only started recruiting omegas this year. There were many monks but little porridge; the outcome was hard to say.

Having made up his mind, he was about to leave when he was forcibly pushed down into a seat and given a makeover by his friends.

Chen Hebin touched his hair, which was styled with gel, feeling an indescribable strangeness.

They had combed his hair back, revealing his full forehead, with two strands of hair falling in front. The whole look was sharper, more aggressive.

The moment Zhou Yizhou saw Chen Hebin, he noticed the Alpha was different. “You did your hair?”

Chen Hebin nodded slightly and told Zhou Yizhou everything his roommates had done. It wasn’t just his hair; Chen Hebin’s clothes today had also been specially chosen.

Zhou Yizhou felt that today’s Chen Hebin looked exceptionally cool when he wasn’t smiling, but when he did smile, he was like a bright and passionate youth.

Zhou Yizhou’s heart skipped a few beats. He had to admit, Chen Hebin’s type was very popular among omegas.

The two went to a rooftop-themed restaurant. As the sun set, they sat on the rooftop, watching the sunset while waiting for their food.

Zhou Yizhou took out his terminal and switched to camera mode. He loved taking pictures to record moments and felt it would be a real shame not to capture the scene before him.

The orange sunset cast a warm light on the two of them. Chen Hebin felt that the person before him was like a little prince, making one want to hold him tightly in their arms and protect him. All he needed was to be happy.

Chen Hebin didn’t disturb Zhou Yizhou’s picture-taking. After a while, the food arrived.

Zhou Yizhou was still taking pictures. Chen Hebin thought for a moment and went to get two drinks.

After putting away his terminal, Zhou Yizhou took a sip of the drink he had placed for him. It was sweet and sour, very delicious. He noticed that this seemingly carefree Alpha was always very meticulous whenever they ate together.

For example, Chen Hebin would always have water or a drink and tissues ready, placing them within his easy reach.

At home, Zhou Yizhou also had maids or robots to do these things. He thought he would have to pay attention to these things himself after enrolling at the military academy.

But instead, he had Chen Hebin taking care of him like this. Zhou Yizhou felt a little happy in his heart.

Chen Hebin asked, seemingly unintentionally, why Chen Si wasn’t with them today. Zhou Yizhou, his cheeks puffed out, said that Chen Si probably wouldn’t be coming around as often for the next few days. Chen Hebin’s heart leaped with joy.

The two ate and chatted, not even noticing when the sky had turned dark. As a waiter passed by with a tray of food, an accident suddenly happened.

Someone appeared out of nowhere, running and stumbling, not looking where they were going, and crashed directly into the waiter.

The waiter staggered, losing his grip on the tray in his hands, which went flying straight towards Zhou Yizhou.

For a moment, no one reacted. Zhou Yizhou only heard a cry of “Watch out!” and froze.

By the time he came to his senses, all he could see was Chen Hebin lunging on top of him, holding him in an absolutely protective embrace. The tray had smashed against his back.

All the food spilled onto Chen Hebin’s carefully chosen clothes. The scalding hot soup seeped through the fabric, burning his back, the pain coming in waves.

Everyone around was completely stunned, staring blankly at the scene, not expecting someone’s actions could be so fast.

The waiter and the person who had crashed into them stood frozen on the spot, at a loss for what to do.

There was a puddle of water on the floor. The person had run up, slipped on the wet spot, and collided with the waiter, which led to the accident.

After a dozen or so seconds, they hurriedly apologized and wanted to take Chen Hebin to the hospital. Chen Hebin shook his head and refused. He patted Zhou Yizhou’s head to soothe him.

After asking where the restroom was, he got up to take care of it, with Zhou Yizhou following him.

Chen Hebin stopped helplessly at the restroom door, his tone a bit teasing. “Zhouzhou, the one I’m going into is the Alpha’s restroom. Are you sure you want to come in with me?”

Zhou Yizhou’s face flushed red, and he stopped in his tracks. He’s still joking at a time like this. The blatant worry in his eyes made Chen Hebin’s heart soften, and he gently comforted the frightened omega.

“Don’t worry, I just got hit by something. I’m fine, it doesn’t hurt. I just feel sticky and uncomfortable on my back right now.”

Zhou Yizhou was probably very emotional, and his eyes were red with worry. He watched in silence as Chen Hebin went inside.

After going in, Chen Hebin took off his outer jacket. He rolled up the short-sleeved shirt underneath and looked in the mirror.

His back was a large patch of red, stinging with pain. He had lied to Zhou Yizhou about that part. How could it not hurt? But he could still bear it.

He didn’t have any supplies right now, so he could only take a few paper towels, wet them with water, and wipe it down casually.

He probably still needed to buy medicine, but that would have to wait until after he took Zhou Yizhou back that night.

After a while, someone came in. It was the waiter, holding a new shirt in his hand.

“The little young master outside asked me to buy this. Sir, I should still take you to the hospital. I will pay for the medical expenses.”

This was his work mistake; he should rightfully bear the responsibility.

Chen Hebin looked at the shirt, knowing that the “little young master” referred to Zhou Yizhou. He smiled and didn’t hold the waiter responsible.

The waiter still felt bad and settled their table’s bill. Chen Hebin let him.

After changing his clothes, Chen Hebin walked Zhou Yizhou back to the dorm. Zhou Yizhou had already eaten his fill, and Chen Hebin didn’t feel like eating anymore either.

Zhou Yizhou felt a little guilty. “I’m sorry. You only got hurt because of me.”

Chen Hebin quickly shook his head. “No. If you had gotten hurt, I would be the one dying of guilt. It’s good that you’re okay.”

As soon as these words were spoken, the atmosphere underwent a subtle change. Chen Hebin’s ears quietly turned red, and Zhou Yizhou’s face flushed slightly.

Under the cover of the night, neither of them saw the other’s change in expression. They both tacitly understood and didn’t speak again.
