If hooking men was a skill, Lu Chi was probably a born prodigy, effortless and self-taught. His fingertips were a little cold, soft like flowing white jade. When they brushed across Liang Jiashu’s palm, they left behind a light, teasing itch.
Liang Jiashu instinctively grabbed his hand, holding it tightly, his grip firm and unrelenting. A few seconds later, realizing what he was doing, he eased up just a little… but still didn’t let go.
The thigh garter pressed against his palm, slowly warming with their shared body heat.
Liang Jiashu forced himself to ignore Lu Chi’s earlier question. After all, playing the moral guardian in front of a fox demon wasn’t easy. His voice came out low and hoarse as he asked once again: “…You still haven’t told me why.”
Was it because the money was good?
Because the gifts were generous?
Or because his obsession had finally paid off?
Liang Jiashu, like a dog that refused to give up, was determined to get to the bottom of Lu Chi’s sudden mercy, so he could prepare for the next round of… Hot and cold.
Lu Chi had no idea what was running through his mind. After a moment of thought, he answered with complete sincerity:
“Because if you go insane, this world will collapse.”
Liang Jiashu: “…”
[Host!!] The poor system shrieked in Lu Chi’s head.
Are you seriously saying that out loud!?
Lu Chi ignored it entirely and continued, utterly earnest: “You didn’t know, did you, Liang Jiashu? You’re actually the protagonist of this world. The whole thing revolves around you. If something happens to you, the world goes up in smoke.”
Under the lamp’s warm glow, he spoke that nonsense with such straight-faced conviction. His big eyes shimmered golden under the nightlight, like a little plush animal from a fairy tale, one that could talk.
It made you want to scoop him up and squeeze him.
Liang Jiashu paused. His gaze unconsciously softened. Playing along, he asked: “Then, who’s the other protagonist?”
Lu Chi replied matter-of-factly: “Gu Yanyan.”
Liang Jiashu: “…”
Lu Chi: “He’s your official love interest, you know.”
Liang Jiashu: “???”
Yeah, nope! Hell no!
That wasn’t happening!
Liang Jiashu’s face turned blank, his expression suddenly cold enough to mourn a dead father: “Then I think destruction is the better option.”
Let this stupid world burn!
“…” Lu Chi lowered his head and broke into helpless laughter. The leather garter, caught between their clasped hands, shook with his laughter, pressing uncomfortably into their palms.
Something shifted in Liang Jiashu’s chest. Like a moth drawn to a flame, he instinctively stepped forward, lacing his fingers tightly between Lu Chi’s.
Knuckle to knuckle…
…A little too bold.
But Lu Chi’s body had gone soft from laughing, and in a good mood, he generously allowed the closeness. Still chuckling, he asked: “Aren’t you curious about my role?”
Liang Jiashu froze, as if bracing himself for the kind of title that would make him want to destroy the world again, like someone else’s boyfriend, master, lover…
But he still played along, obediently asking: “What’s your role?”
Lu Chi declared grandly: “I’m the righteous and charming Savior of the world. I stayed behind so you wouldn’t destroy everything. Sigh, I’m just that kind. And everyone loves me. Even the ants on the sidewalk scream when they see me: ‘Thank goodness, it’s the Savior! We’re saved!”
The system in his mind: [……]
Well then.
That works.
Everything’s fine!
As soon as Lu Chi finished talking, Liang Jiashu nodded naturally, without a hint of doubt. “You really are”, he answered.
The world may revolve around the protagonists, but Liang Jiashu’s world revolved solely around Lu Chi.
Lu Chi couldn’t help but laugh again, his smile bright and confident. He glanced down at the thigh garter in his hand, then gave Liang Jiashu’s shin a light tap with the tip of his foot, raising an eyebrow while asking: “You really like this, huh?”
From earlier until now, Liang Jiashu’s trousers had been visibly… Affected.
Has his shamelessness infected me? Lu Chi thought to himself. He was actually starting to get used to how easily Liang Jiashu got aroused.
A terrifying habit indeed…
It was a teasing question, obviously, but Liang Jiashu still answered with a straight face, his voice slightly hoarse: “No matter what you’re like, I like you.”
Lu Chi felt the urge to poke fun at this fake, pretentious act, so he asked: “Seriously? Even when I ignore you, you like that too?”
“…” Liang Jiashu was quiet for a few seconds, then calmly replied: “Yes. I like it. Even when you ignore me, I still like you.”
“I like you no matter what.”
This time, Lu Chi was the one left speechless. He muttered an “oh,” then started fiddling with the garter in his hand to avoid the topic. But since Liang Jiashu still had hold of him, he had to lower his head, his soft, silky hair brushing against the young man’s shoulder. His hair was thick, and it carried a faint, pleasant scent.
He was practically nestled in Liang Jiashu’s arms.
Liang Jiashu’s heart was pounding again. He held Lu Chi like he was a piece of fragile porcelain, but several seconds later, Lu Chi suddenly looked up and gave him a look full of exasperation, complaining: “…Liang Jiashu, your… thing… You’re poking my leg!”
Young men, always so full of spirit!
The distance between them was so small that Lu Chi could smell the faint chemical scent on Liang Jiashu. Compared to that refined, woodsy cologne he used before, this smell seemed more like the real Liang Jiashu.
Odd. Calm and rational.
But also dangerously reactive, ready to boil over and explode at any moment.
Liang Jiashu paused for a second, then replied without an ounce of embarrassment or shame, his voice low and rough: “You’re in front of me. In my arms. And holding a sex toy.”
If he didn’t react, he might as well go and chop it all off, or check into a hospital for erectile dysfunction, right?!
Lu Chi was caught off guard. “…Fair enough”, he admitted.
He suddenly recalled some romantic scenes he’d watched on set back when he was studying acting. Raising his eyes, he gave Liang Jiashu a wet, sultry look. At the same time, he rubbed his foot flirtatiously along the young man’s shin.
The crisp creases of his trousers were instantly ruined.
Liang Jiashu’s muscles tensed. Staring into Lu Chi’s teasing gaze, it felt like a freshly spawned succubus had whipped him across the face with its tail. He was already hard, but now the throbbing was unbearable.
Lu Chi laughed: “Wow. Liang Jiashu, you… Still have more?”
No wonder he was the Gong No.1 in a novel, nee~
Liang Jiashu didn’t say anything. A few seconds later, he suddenly reached down and pressed a hand against Lu Chi’s restless leg. With the other, he picked up the garter and deftly undid the hidden lace clasp, his burning-hot palm sliding down Lu Chi’s thigh as he pulled him closer into his arms.
Liang Jiashu had spent years doing lab work, so his fingers were nimble. He’d also studied piano, so his joints were strong and precise. Therefore, before Lu Chi could react, he was suddenly swept up in a bridal carry. Liang Jiashu lifted him effortlessly, even though he was a grown man, and used his other hand to grip his thigh.
Through the thin slacks, the heat of his touch and the friction of his fingers skimming along toned muscle were lewd and deliberate.
Lu Chi had never been touched so shamelessly before. He blanked for a second, but his waist betrayed him with a twitch, sensitive and reactive… A perfect example of “playing with fire and getting burned.”
“Liang Jiashu.”
Liang Jiashu responded with a low grunt, still using the garter as a pretense to continue touching. His voice was deep and gravelly: “Didn’t you say you wanted to wear this?”
“Where do you like it? Upper thigh? Or… even higher?”
“…”
You’re about to put it on my chest!
The space between them was tight and hot. Their heartbeats were racing. Liang Jiashu’s breath was like heatwaves as it ghosted against Lu Chi’s ear, making his pale, jade-like skin flush with a feverish red.
Even the corners of Lu Chi’s eyes turned pink, his skin thin and burning like sparks had kissed it. His light brown eyes shimmered wetly, looking up like he’d walked straight out of an adult film, seductive and sinful.
That look alone made Liang Jiashu’s body ache with arousal, his blood boiling to the point of pain. He suddenly spoke, voice thick with heat: “There are no cameras here.”
“…”
Lu Chi finally came back to his senses from the flood of physiological responses. Strength returned to his limbs, and the first thing he did was grit his teeth and grab the man’s neck, scolding him like a rabid mutt in heat: “Are you crazy or am I?! Let me go!”
Who the hell starts getting it on in a lab?! Seriously?!
Even his voice was uncharacteristically hoarse, like mint slush pressed between the teeth, biting cold and spicy.
But Liang Jiashu didn’t even hear what he said.
All he wanted was to kiss him.
Like a young priest bewitched by a seductive spirit, the pain from Lu Chi’s grip only made Liang Jiashu more aroused. Lu Chi saw his pitch-black pupils contract into sharp points, closed his eyes, and cursed inwardly: Mad dog!
He tugged hard, yanking Liang Jiashu’s head back to keep him from closing the distance. Chest rising and falling, he warned: “Liang Jiashu, let me go!”
“Okay,” Liang Jiashu murmured, clearly not listening.
The acrid scent of lab chemicals grew heavier.
Lu Chi was starting to feel flushed, too, his breath uneven.
Frowning, he slapped the side of Liang Jiashu’s neck and forcefully broke free from his grip, jumping out of the man’s arms and taking two quick steps back. Something crunched under his foot and, with a light click, the overhead lights snapped on, flooding the room with bright, clinical white.
The warm, suggestive lighting disappeared in an instant.
Lu Chi actually felt a bit relieved. “It’s getting late. I’m heading out”, he said. Just as he turned to leave, in the next second, a burning palm silently slid around his waist.
Liang Jiashu wrapped him up from behind like a hungry ghost that refused to let go, leaning close enough for Lu Chi to feel the heat from his arousal.
“Lu Chi, there are no cameras in this lab.”
“But there are plenty of muscle relaxants.”
“…”
Lu Chi clicked his tongue and suddenly turned around, pinning the wandering hand in place. He raised an eyebrow, warning: “Liang Jiashu, I don’t sleep with students.”
“…” Liang Jiashu paused. “You’re an assistant teacher.”
Lu Chi: “What’s that supposed to mean?! Are you looking down on assistants?! Assistant or not, I’m still a teacher, thank you very much!”
Liang Jiashu: “…No. Just saying, you’ve only been a ‘teacher‘ for half a day.”
Hearing how stubborn he was, Lu Chi gave a casual “mm” in response. “A teacher for a day, a father for life. Got a problem with that?” he asked, feeling smug.
“…”
Liang Jiashu’s obsidian eyes locked onto him, unmoving. His hand remained pinned, unmoving as well. He stood there like a demon blocking the path, obsessive and brooding.
Lu Chi stared back, then asked: “What do you really want?!”
Lu Chi wasn’t the type to sleep around, and Liang Jiashu knew that. So why was he so persistent now?!
Under the bright lights, Lu Chi’s light brown eyes were clear and focused, though a faint flush still lingered at the corners. His expression, however, was completely calm.
Liang Jiashu stared at him for a long moment, then finally spoke in a low, hoarse voice: “Give me a chance to prove it.”
Lu Chi frowned while asking, “Prove what?”
“That, whether it’s money or body, I can give you the best.”
“So good that you’ll never again kick me aside without a word.”
Under the harsh light, the young man’s gaze was as black as ink, haunted by obsession, insecurity, and a frightening intensity.
Lu Chi stilled.
The next second, Liang Jiashu, still expressionless, reached for the nearby switch.
Click.
The lights, both the sterile ones overhead and the warm night lamp, went out as darkness descended once more.
But this time, Lu Chi didn’t feel uneasy. His attention was elsewhere.
Calloused fingertips slid with practiced ease beneath the hem of his white shirt, exploring the warm skin beneath with skilled finesse, like someone who’d watched far too many tutorials. Then, gentle, deliberate strokes moved downward.
Lu Chi’s breathing grew heavier. He couldn’t dodge, so he simply reached down and pressed his hand against the young man who was already kneeling before him.
His first thought was: This guy is huge.
Even on his knees, he still felt overwhelmingly big.
Then Lu Chi chuckled softly. A bead of sweat slid from his damp hairline, dripping onto the bridge of his sharp nose. His voice, for once, carried a trace of heat:
“Liang Jiashu, you really are a mad dog.”
Crazy to the bone.
Liang Jiashu gave a hoarse grunt, brushing his bangs over Lu Chi’s abs, the strands tickling his skin. Without speaking, he raised his hand and clasped the one Lu Chi had placed behind his neck, locking their fingers together, hot and damp.
Lu Chi lowered his eyes.
After a pause, he gave Liang Jiashu’s palm a light squeeze.
But the next moment…
Liang Jiashu tensed. He suddenly let out a muffled groan, and his breathing turned chaotic, hot, and erratic.
“…”
…?
Silence stretched for several seconds.
Then, in the darkness…
A burst of laughter.
It started as a snort, then escalated into a husky laugh trembling with barely suppressed amusement.
“It’s okay…”
“Being fast is kind of cute, too.”
“……”
“Hahahahahaha!”
