LPLFDA Chapter 52

The pinned-down Feng Yuan was like a little turtle pressed under its shell. No matter how his chubby hands and feet flailed about, his small body could not move at all.

Li Si had originally planned to hide with him right after the explosion.

They could hide for a while.

When Grandpa and Aunt discovered the situation here, and after they got angry and calmed down, they would come out again.

By then, they would be much safer.

Li Si’s plan was very good. Unfortunately, she had not accounted for Feng Yuan being pinned down.

“Don’t be afraid, I’ll get you out right away.”

As she spoke, Li Si directly reached out, trying to break this tree branch that was thicker than both her arms put together.

A branch this thick was extremely difficult to snap.

Li Si gritted her teeth, the veins almost bulging from her arms.

She exerted all her strength for a while, yet still could not break the branch.

The pinned-down Feng Yuan propped his little hands against the ground. On his already dirt-smudged little face, his eyes glistened wetly.

He sniffled, his milky voice carrying pitifulness.

“Big Sister, you should run first. Don’t worry about Yuan Yuan.”

Now that the explosion was over, they could run.

Li Si pressed her lips into a tight line.

She held Feng Yuan’s chubby little hand and did not run.

“I won’t leave you here.”

Li Si refused to go. Feng Yuan’s round little face was touched. He lifted the back of his hand and rubbed at his eyes.

“Big Sister, Yuan Yuan can get out on his own.”

Li Si: “?”

Li Si: “How are you going to get out on your own?”

Just as Li Si finished asking, the little one pinned under the tree turned red in the face, straining hard at something.

The next second.

With a soft pa-ji sound, the previously dirty, chubby little boy transformed right before Li Si’s eyes into a fluffy baby chick.

The chick’s downy feathers were messy, two silly tufts sticking up on its head, its round black-bean eyes watery, and its tender little beak opening and closing as it let out a sound.

“Chirp!”

This way, he could get out!

Now in chick form, Feng Yuan easily crawled out from under the tree.

He had crawled out, but Li Si was frozen in place.

Li Si almost could not believe her own eyes.

She froze for a few seconds, then lowered her head and pinched the back of her own hand hard.

“Hiss—”

The sudden sting of pain confirmed to Li Si that she wasn’t seeing things, nor was she dreaming.

The little chick chirping in front of her truly existed.

“Yuan Yuan?”

Li Si asked in disbelief.

Feng Yuan: “Chirp!”

Feng Yuan chirped, his tiny head rubbing against Li Si’s pant leg.

After rubbing against her leg, when he saw that Li Si still wasn’t picking him up, he simply spread his short, stubby wings straight out.

“Chirp!”

Hug Yuan Yuan!

Urged on by Feng Yuan’s insistent chirping, Li Si finally closed her eyes and let herself fully calm down.

She bent down and scooped the chirping little chick into her arms.

The chick was round and plump, so very small.

It was only when Li Si held him in her hands that she realized: though Feng Yuan’s body had shrunk into that of a little chick, his weight had not decreased one bit.

This fluffy little ball was completely solid.

Li Si held the little chick in her hands. She couldn’t understand what the chick was chirping, but when she looked into its black-bean eyes, she felt as though she could.

“Chirp, chirp, chirp!”

Big Sister, hurry and run!

Feng Yuan flapped his tiny wings, pointing toward the nearby road, urging his sister to take him and escape.

However, even after his little wings grew tired from waving, Li Si still didn’t take him away.

“It’s too late.”

Li Si’s gaze was fixed straight ahead, not far in front of them.

Feng Yuan tilted his head. “Chirp?”

After chirping in confusion, he followed her gaze.

The next second.

His eyes went wide in fright.

Grandpa, Aunt, the butler, and even the bodyguards…

They had all come!

So many people rushing over at once, Feng Yuan instinctively felt afraid.

His little claws clutched tightly at his sister. In his trembling, milky voice, he sought reassurance once more: “Chirp, chirp chirp, chirp?”

Grandpa and Aunt… they really won’t hit Yuan Yuan, right?

“Should… not.”

Li Si looked at the fear in Feng Yuan’s round eyes and spoke hesitantly.

She herself had done things a hundred times more dangerous than this, but she had never been beaten before.

Yet somehow, when she saw her grandfather and aunt approaching with overwhelming momentum, Li Si suddenly felt a little uncertain.

Li Si’s hesitant reply made tears well up in Feng Yuan’s black, bean-like eyes.

He was afraid.

“It’s okay. If they hit you, I’ll take you away.”

Li Si noticed Feng Yuan’s fear.

Lowering her voice, she comforted him, “We can go stay at my grandpa’s house.”

But Feng Yuan didn’t want to go to his sister’s grandpa’s house.

He just wanted to stay home without being beaten.

Seeing that his grandfather was about to close in, Feng Yuan lifted his short, chubby little wings and hid his small face inside them.

He curled himself up into a ball.

“Absurd!”

The footsteps grew closer and closer, and finally came to a stop right in front of them.

Li Heng’s scolding voice boomed in Feng Yuan’s ears like thunder.

Feng Yuan trembled, then curled himself up even tighter.

“Li Si, I see your courage is really growing bolder and bolder!”

“And where’s Feng Yuan?”

Li Heng scolded Li Si while his gaze searched for Feng Yuan’s small figure.

He scanned the scene once, but couldn’t spot Feng Yuan anywhere.

“Yuan Yuan isn’t here. You don’t need to look for him.”

Li Si reacted quickly.

Holding the shivering little chick-ball in her arms, she lied with a straight face: “Yuan Yuan is staying in the dormitory tonight. I didn’t let him come back. This explosion was my doing alone.”

The moment he heard that Feng Yuan wasn’t here, Li Heng’s tense heart eased a little.

Just now, not seeing Feng Yuan, he had feared that something had happened to him.

“Was it Yuan Yuan who told you to set off the explosion?”

Li Heng exposed the truth in one sentence: “Otherwise, for no reason, you wouldn’t have stirred up such commotion.”

Looking at the place blasted into a complete mess, Li Heng’s brows couldn’t help but furrow tightly.

He had always been one who disliked nagging, but right now, he couldn’t keep from nagging.

“I’ve long told you, every scene and object in this residence must not be touched at will.”

Today, he had gone to Yu Lian’s place, where together they had found Brother Zhu, who often disappeared.

Brother Zhu and he had been friends for several decades.

He had asked Brother Zhu whether it was possible to move the tree and pond in the southwest corner.

Brother Zhu shook his head and, without even thinking, told him it couldn’t be done.

Brother Zhu truly had real ability.

Li Heng’s health had been kept steady and stable all thanks to him.

Unfortunately, Brother Zhu couldn’t adjust and nurture the bodies of his younger generations.

“Grandpa, I’ve already moved them.”

Li Si lifted her face, looking straight at Li Heng. In her gaze, there wasn’t the slightest fear, nor the slightest attempt to evade.

She only asked: “In Grandpa’s heart, which is more important, the tree and the pond, or Yuan Yuan?”

Li Heng: “That’s not the same thing!”

Li Si met his eyes directly and said, word by word: “It is the same thing. Yuan Yuan cried because of this.”

Li Heng: “…”

Li Heng’s gaze sank.

He pressed at his temples. With this little granddaughter of his, he truly didn’t know how to communicate.

The feng shui of this residence wasn’t protecting him.

It was protecting his younger generations.

In other words, the feng shui of this residence was meant to protect Li Si and Li Wang.

Now that this section of the feng shui had been destroyed, Li Heng felt anger rising in his heart, yet he truly couldn’t bring himself to beat the children.

“Get back here first!”

After holding it in for a few seconds, Li Heng grabbed Li Si and carried her back into the house.

Li Si could feel his anger, but she wasn’t angry at him.

After dragging Li Si away, Li Heng turned to Li Wei, who had followed behind, and ordered, “Have someone clean this place up.”

“Alright.”

In truth, Li Wei only needed to instruct others to tidy up the place.

But when she thought of Feng Yuan, who had insisted on blowing this up, her steps, which were about to leave, stubbornly stopped.

She stayed where she was, intending to help the workers clean up together.

Time passed bit by bit.

Li Si, who had been dragged back into the house, was still standing in punishment.

The explosion earlier had also affected her.

Her body and face were a little dirty.

But compared to Feng Yuan, whose little clothes had been torn to shreds, her situation was clearly much better.

Seeing her standing in punishment while still holding a little chick in her arms, Li Heng said in a deep voice: “Put the chick down! You want to raise those pythons, those tigers and lions, fine. But just look at yourself now!”

“Without discussing it with the adults, you went and made explosives on your own!”

The power of a bomb was something no one could precisely control.

Just thinking about it made Li Heng feel a surge of lingering fear.

He had already lost his eldest son.

If his eldest son’s children were lost as well…

He didn’t even dare to imagine that possibility.

While Li Heng was scolding, two sets of hurried footsteps entered the house.

Inside the room, one elder was lecturing, one child was being lectured, and another was pretending to be a little chick.

None of them had heard the sound.

The little chick hiding in his sister’s arms was feeling extremely relieved at this moment.

Grandpa didn’t know the little chick was actually him, so he wouldn’t beat him anymore!

Having escaped a disaster, Feng Yuan quietly shifted his little wings aside, secretly observing.

If not for his sister being scolded, the little chick would already be chirping with smug laughter.

Just as the little chick was basking in his secret joy, the lecturing Li Heng finally heard the commotion at the door.

Seeing the arrivals, he walked over in a few quick steps.

“You’re back.”

Li Heng was speaking with the newcomers, while Feng Yuan, left behind, hurriedly seized the chance to comfort his sister.

“Chirp.”

Sister, don’t be sad.

“Chirp chirp!”

It’s all Yuan Yuan’s fault that Sister got scolded.

“Chirp.”

The last chirp was Feng Yuan lightly pecking Li Si’s cheek.

Li Si didn’t understand a single chirp.

But she understood exactly what every chirp meant.

It had to be said, Li Si’s comprehension was far better than that of Li Sheng and Li Ting, by who knows how many times over.

Back then, even when Feng Yuan chirped until his voice cracked in front of those two adults, they still couldn’t understand what he was saying.

Maybe a new brain really was more useful than an old one. Li Si didn’t even need to adapt. She could immediately understand what Feng Yuan was chirping.

The little chick was still coaxing his sister, rubbing close to her.

He didn’t notice at all who it was that was speaking with Grandpa not far away.

“Si Si said Yuan Yuan didn’t come back. He’s staying in the dormitory tonight.”

“The explosion in the courtyard, Yuan Yuan wasn’t involved.”

“It was Si Si who did this herself.”

Li Heng repeated Li Si’s own confession to Feng Qi and Li Sheng.

Hearing the old man’s words, Feng Qi’s expression didn’t soften in the slightest.

“You mean, Yuan Yuan isn’t here?”

“Mm.”

Li Heng gave a short reply: “I was just about to finish educating Si Si and then send a car to bring him back.”

“No need.”

From the moment he came in, Feng Qi’s gaze had already locked onto the chubby little one softly chirping.

Not only did he see it, but Li Sheng also saw it even more clearly.

Hearing the old man still insisting that Feng Yuan wasn’t there, Li Sheng’s expression grew complicated.

“Father.”

Li Sheng and Feng Qi had long since agreed that they wouldn’t deliberately conceal Feng Yuan’s identity, but neither would they reveal it to him prematurely.

Now, watching this little one fooling Grandpa, a single exchanged glance between the two men confirmed what they would do next.

“Yuan Yuan isn’t in the dormitory. He’s right here at home.”

Li Sheng mercilessly exposed his son: “You were tricked by him.”

Tonight’s explosion had everything to do with this little rascal!

Li Heng: “?”

Li Heng frowned. “What are you talking about? Whether Yuan Yuan is at home or not, how could I not know?”

Li Sheng didn’t argue with him.

He and Feng Qi walked deeper into the house.

Feng Qi went straight toward Li Si, who was still standing against the wall in punishment.

As he walked over, his back was to his chubby little cub, who was still chirping away.

The little cub was chirping quite happily.

Lowering his gaze, Feng Qi looked at the chubby little cub, his voice cool.

“Yuan Yuan.”

Feng Yuan: “!”

Feng Yuan’s chirping came to an abrupt halt.

His plump little body froze on the spot, his small head not daring to turn around.

“Chirp.”

He looked at the sister in front of him and gave a weak, fearful chirp.

It seemed… he had just heard his father’s voice.

Li Si was looking straight at Feng Qi.

This was Li Si’s very first time meeting Feng Qi in person. Compared to the brief glimpse she had once caught of him in a video, the real man was a hundred times more stunning.

She stared at Feng Qi’s face, even wondering if he could possibly be real.

In real life, she had never seen anyone who looked this good.

While Li Si was still dazzled by Feng Qi’s face, the chubby little cub in her arms was already trembling.

“Yuan Yuan, Dad’s here to see you. Aren’t you happy?”

Feng Qi stood behind the chubby little cub, his voice continuing calmly.

Feng Yuan: “…”

Feng Yuan’s little body shook even harder.

The round black-bean eyes that had sparkled with joy just moments ago were now gone.

“Chirp.”

Dad.

He chirped softly, and then his plump little body was lifted.

Feng Qi’s long, elegant fingers pinched the back of the chubby cub’s neck.

Father and son’s gazes met.

Tears welled up in Feng Yuan’s black-bean eyes. Staring at his cold-faced father, his little claws had already begun covering his own bottom.

He was doomed.

Today, he was still going to get a spanking.

“Yuan Yuan, during the video call tonight, didn’t you say you missed Dad?”

“And now? Do you still miss Dad?”

Feng Yuan: “…”

Listening to his father’s slow, deliberate questioning, Feng Yuan’s little expression grew even more tragic.

Usually, the calmer and slower Dad spoke like this, the more it meant—

He was going to get spanked many times!

“Chirp.”
