PSMD – Chapter 111

For Qiu Yang to have such a thought was already quite remarkable; not everyone has the courage to reopen old wounds.

However, when Qiu Yang said the name “Tao Sixian,” it still made Shen Ningruo pause slightly, as it was somewhat unexpected.

Qiu Yang’s dimples appeared faintly: “Surprised, aren’t you?”

“I used to think that as long as she didn’t provoke me, I could let it go. But now that I think about it, her coming to find me these two times definitely falls under provocation. The first time I splashed water on her, and the second time you even ran into her. I don’t know if she said anything to you, but she dirtied your eyes and also caused a misunderstanding for me, making me think it was still her knocking at the door and not letting you in…”

“Adding it all up, she’s certainly included.”

As Qiu Yang said this, she raised her hand and smoothed Shen Ningruo’s hair, something Shen Ningruo often did for her. Her expression was gentle, and the setting sun reflected in her eyes, making them many times brighter and unconsciously drawing Shen Ningruo’s gaze.

“Guo Ming’an and Tao Sixian teamed up to deceive us, Ruoruo. I don’t think you’ll let him off, so why don’t I join in?” Qiu Yang lowered her hand, her smile still present. “What you and Yao Yao Jie were discussing must have been about Guo Ming’an.”

Shen Ningruo didn’t hide it, her hair swaying slightly in the wind: “Yes.”

“He actually called my dad, asking me to give him another chance, and my dad also wants me to give him a chance. Actually, my dad knows about all his messed-up stuff, but he still wants me to do this.” Her brows furrowed, staring blankly at the ripples on the river. “I had an argument with my dad that day, which I didn’t tell you about. In fact…”

Shen Ningruo turned her head to look at Qiu Yang again: “Xiao Yang, my dad already knows about my relationship with you. Maybe he guessed it himself, because Uncle Yu is close to him and they’ve known each other for many years, so he tells my dad everything. Or maybe it was mentioned in Guo Ming’an’s phone call. But that’s not the most important thing. The point is, he knows I have you as a girlfriend now, yet he insists I get back together with Guo Ming’an.”

“I won’t do anything to my dad, but Guo Ming’an should at least receive the appropriate punishment, right?”

Qiu Yang nodded: “Yes.”

Shen Ningruo then extended her hand in a formal manner: “Then welcome, Miss Qiu Yang, to join our team.”

“Thank you for having me.” Qiu Yang shook Shen Ningruo’s hand, the curve of her lips lifting higher.

Shen Ningruo didn’t rush to withdraw her hand. She pondered for a few seconds before speaking again: “That means we’ll have to deal with them for a while. I only have one request.”

“What request?” Qiu Yang’s eyes were bright.

“It can’t affect our dating.”

Qiu Yang’s fingertips traced Shen Ningruo’s palm: “Of course.”

“We’ll fight monsters while dating.”

After saying that, they looked at each other and smiled, their eyes curving. They were both bathed in a layer of golden sunset light, beautiful like a painting.

The topic shifted. They walked along the safety railing for a bit before turning back to get in the car.

Pingzi had been squatting at home for a long time, not seeing any familiar figures appear at the door. It lay on the climbing frame, constantly watching the direction of the door, until it heard footsteps outside. It immediately perked up, jumped down from the frame, and wagged its tail happily.

When Qiu Yang opened the door, she saw Pingzi squatting on the ground pitifully, looking like it was starving.

“Why are you so pitiful, Pangpang?” Qiu Yang changed her shoes and picked it up. “Ruoruo, go cook some meat for it.”

Shen Ningruo smiled: “Okay.”

She paused as she passed Qiu Yang, stroking Pingzi’s little head. The cat’s fur was soft and warm, feeling very nice. She looked at Pingzi and raised an eyebrow: “Pangpang, you’ll be moving to a different place in a few days. Get used to it.”

Pingzi didn’t understand but still meowed.

This was a suggestion Shen Ningruo had made on the way. When Shen Ningruo bought her apartment, she didn’t rely on her family at all and kept the address strictly confidential. Therefore, not only did Guo Ming’an not know where she lived, but Shen Yuankai didn’t either.

Considering that Tao Sixian knew the address of Qiu Yang’s current place and had come twice before, it wasn’t very safe. So, it would be better to move to her place first.

Qiu Yang’s company was also closer to Shen Ningruo’s home, making commuting much more convenient. After considering all these factors, they decided to move to Shen Ningruo’s place next weekend. Coincidentally, the lease for the apartment Qiu Yang was renting was also nearing its end.

And if they really moved in together, it would mean their lives would be completely integrated.

Qiu Yang was still thinking about this the next day at work. She knew herself that she would eventually reach this point with Shen Ningruo; she just felt it was happening a bit quickly, making her slightly uncomfortable. She needed time to process this.

Even though they hadn’t moved yet.

During her lunch break, she messaged Miao Yi about it, and Miao Yi replied quickly.

Miaomiao: 【That’s a good thing, Yangyang.】

Miaomiao: 【Director Shen seems so reliable.】

Miaomiao: 【I know what you’re worried about. How about this, if you ever argue with her and don’t want to see her, you’re welcome here anytime.】

Miaomiao: 【Wuwuwu I feel like I’m marrying off a daughter, Yangyang. I’m your family!】

Miao Yi typed very fast, sending several messages in rapid succession. Qiu Yang was amused by her last message and tapped on the screen to reply: 【Okay, I know.】

She wasn’t worried about those things, but after Miao Yi said that, she had a vivid, comedic image in her mind, though it also made her feel much warmer inside.

The feeling of having friends who always stand by you is wonderful.

Because she was always busy with studying and part-time jobs, Qiu Yang didn’t make many friends during her student years as she didn’t have much time. Her current relationship with Miao Yi truly relied on fate.

Qiu Yang pursed her lips. After finishing her chat with Miao Yi, she pressed back and put her phone aside. She picked up her cup and took a couple of sips of water, then saw Gu Lan rush into the office, calling out “Xiao Qiu Jie” and pulling her wrist to stand up.

Qiu Yang didn’t know what was happening: “What’s wrong?”

She asked as she followed Gu Lan.

“To watch the show!” Gu Lan pulled her to the tea room window. From there, they could see what was happening in the plaza in front of the office building’s main entrance.

The tea room was quite lively at the moment, with many employees standing around, but Gu Lan had already reserved a spot earlier, allowing her to smoothly pull Qiu Yang along to watch.

Downstairs, a scene of a marriage proposal was unfolding.

A tall man held flowers, standing in front of a woman. Around them was a circle of people in black suits, standing straight, each holding a large bunch of balloons, surrounding the two main figures.

Many people were watching from the sides, and even people on the roadside were stopping, holding sun umbrellas.

Yuncheng had been sunny recently, and it was midday now, making it even hotter.

Qiu Yang was sensitive to the sun. She raised her hand to shield her eyes slightly, looked for a couple of seconds, and lost interest. Just as she was about to say something, she heard an unfamiliar male colleague next to her say: “Hey, my friend downstairs said the female lead is Manager Qu.”

There was only one Manager Qu at Wanming. Qiu Yang suppressed her thoughts.

Gu Lan also heard the male colleague’s words, but she was clearly more familiar with him. She patted the male colleague’s shoulder: “Kevin, who did you say this is? Manager Qu?”

The male colleague called “Kevin” turned around and shoved his chat history with his friend in front of them: “See if it’s Manager Qu.”

Gu Lan leaned closer and carefully opened the picture: “Hey, it really is.”

“What exactly is this? A proposal or what?”

Kevin replied: “Not a proposal. I heard this guy wants Manager Qu to be with him.”

Qiu Yang listened from the side, pursing her lips without speaking, quietly watching the scene below.

The distance and the balloons made it hard to see clearly.

“Oh, right, I also heard that this man’s surname is Tao,” Kevin added. “He’s a general manager of some company.”
