PSMD – Chapter 118

Le Yu’s Love Banquet – The banquet was still a while away, but the immediate plan was the BBQ appointment. However, Shen Ningruo had an urgent company matter and was summoned away by Qin Yu, so it was just Qiu Yang and Le Yu going for BBQ.

Once Shen Ningruo left, Le Yu sighed and confessed something: “I only heard about you and your ex from Senior Yue two days ago. Last night’s encounter wasn’t really accidental; I asked Senior Yue for your address.”

“She said you’re in a new relationship now, so I wasn’t surprised by Miss Shen’s appearance. It was actually good that she showed up; that way, I could take the opportunity to see what kind of person she is. That was one of the original intentions behind my message last night.”

“Your last relationship, well, that was because I, your senior sister, didn’t vet it. Otherwise, I would never have let you be with that trashy woman.”

“You won’t blame me for being nosy, right? Xiao Qiu Yang.”

“How could I?”

This conversation felt a bit late, but Qiu Yang didn’t feel much emotional fluctuation. She just felt that Le Yu was still the same as before, always thinking of her friends.

Shen Ningruo had already driven away. The two of them were now walking towards the BBQ restaurant. The sun was still blazing, not receding at all. Qiu Yang and Le Yu each held an umbrella.

“Yes,” Qiu Yang replied. She pursed her lips and continued, “But I still have to meet her tomorrow.”

“Her?”

“Your ex?”

Le Yu stopped, looking serious. “Does Miss Shen know?”

“She knows, and she’s coming with me,” Qiu Yang chuckled. “Senior, where did your mind go? I’m not meeting her because of lingering feelings, but for something else. You know I have a cat; she wasn’t good to my cat when we were together. Before, my cat gained some popularity online, and she saw the business opportunity behind it. She even came looking for me a while ago. Now, because it involves some other matters, I’ve called her out. I’ll see if I can get anything out of her tomorrow.”

Le Yu frowned. “Is that so?”

“Yes,” Qiu Yang’s eyes curved into a smile. “It’s impossible for me to have even a shred of affection for her anymore. I wasn’t clear-headed back then.”

Le Yu shook her head. “It’s not your problem, Xiao Qiu Yang.”

“When bad people make mistakes, they are naturally fully responsible. It’s like a thief stealing something; should you blame the pedestrian for not guarding their belongings properly? Of course not. Don’t take the blame yourself. This matter, from beginning to end, was the other person’s problem.”

“Okay,” Qiu Yang replied.

Le Yu curved her lips into a smile. She looked at Qiu Yang again. “One more thing, you can relax. I’ve completely moved on from you now.”

Although it was never explicitly stated, Qiu Yang could clearly sense that Le Yu liked her. Because of this, she didn’t feel entirely at ease receiving Le Yu’s kindness. Later, she found opportunities to reciprocate, but it was always on a material level.

After all, what Le Yu wanted, she couldn’t give.

“I know,” Qiu Yang’s eyes were bright.

Le Yu was a little surprised. “You know? Did Senior Yue tell you?”

“No, I didn’t even know Senior Yue was still in touch with you. I guessed it myself. Only when you’ve completely moved on can you be this open about it,” Qiu Yang stated her deduction.

Le Yu had a straightforward personality, but she had shown hesitation many times when facing Qiu Yang before. There wasn’t really a suitable time for a confession, but once Qiu Yang sensed it, she would deliberately change the subject. This way, both sides understood what was meant.

Le Yu’s smile deepened, the hem of her red dress swaying in the breeze. “Yes.”

“After you started dating, I discovered a truth: seeing you as a younger sister actually makes things much easier for me. It’s just that I realized it a bit late, otherwise I wouldn’t have struggled for so long. After figuring it out, I did develop feelings for others and I’ve been in relationships. I just broke up at the beginning of the year. It’s been five months now, and I’ve pretty much gotten over the breakup. Don’t worry about me. The love banquet I mentioned today is real. Bring Miss Shen with you when the time comes.”

“I will.”

By the time they finished talking, they had just arrived at the entrance of the BBQ restaurant.

Le Yu turned to look at Qiu Yang and let out a long sigh. “Let’s consider this meal a gathering for our reunion.”

“Okay.”

Qiu Yang stepped inside with Le Yu, leaving the heat outside behind them.

Shen Ningruo arrived at the company a while after Qiu Yang and Le Yu had started eating. Qin Yu hadn’t specified what the urgent matter was on the phone, just asked her to come to the office.

Today was Saturday, and Qiyao’s employees were off, with hardly anyone working overtime. Shen Ningruo walked down the empty corridor and went straight to the General Manager’s office.

Qin Yu’s secretary wasn’t at her desk. Shen Ningruo knocked on the door and only entered after hearing Qin Yu say, “Come in.”

“President Qin,” Shen Ningruo greeted him upon seeing him.

She hadn’t even known that Qin Yu was back from Beijing. She was a bit surprised when she received the call, but when she heard Qin Yu say to come back to the company, she frowned. After all, Qin Yu wasn’t often in Yuncheng, and she was essentially the head of Qiyao here. If something went wrong, she would naturally be the one to take responsibility, so it would be strange not to be nervous.

But upon seeing Qin Yu now, Shen Ningruo felt she might have been overly worried.

Qin Yu was sitting in the soft chair in front of his desk, looking calm. He even smiled when he saw her. “Ruoruo.”

“What’s the matter?” Shen Ningruo walked in, pulled out a chair, and sat down opposite Qin Yu.

Qin Yu pursed his lips. “Did I interrupt you?”

“No,” Shen Ningruo shook her head. She could skip that BBQ meal; she knew nothing would happen between Qiu Yang and Le Yu. Besides, Qiu Yang and Le Yu hadn’t been in touch much for three years and probably had a lot to talk about.

Shen Ningruo looked at the sunlight outside the window, then withdrew her gaze and looked at the relaxed Qin Yu, asking again, “Brother, what is it exactly?”

“It’s not a company matter,” Qin Yu scratched the back of his head awkwardly and gave a sheepish smile. “It’s personal.”

“Personal?”

“I actually wanted to ask for your advice on how to pursue someone,” Qin Yu cleared his throat.

Shen Ningruo: “…”

Shen Ningruo: “You have plenty of admirers. Couldn’t you just pick one and replicate what they did? Why are you deliberately asking me?”

Qin Yu rubbed his nose. “It’s different.”

“It’s not a ‘she’, it’s a ‘he’.”

Shen Ningruo was a bit confused. “What’s with the ‘he’ and ‘she’?”

“How can you be so smart normally and so dense now?” Qin Yu covered his face, feeling a rare sense of embarrassment. “Are you the only one allowed to be gay? Am I not?”

“Others establish themselves at thirty, you turn gay at thirty,” Shen Ningruo reacted after her initial surprise.

Qin Yu had always been very proper over the years; Shen Ningruo had barely heard any news about him dating. Now, he drops a big one.

Qin Yu slapped the table. “Is that how you talk to your brother? Hurry up, tell me how to pursue someone.”

“People say it already.”

“Adult seduction has three steps.”

“Turn into a cat, turn into a tiger, turn into a wet dog.”

“Are you going to follow that?”

Only after saying it did Shen Ningruo realize that she seemed to have actually transformed into all of those. She had even thought of herself as a dog before. But in her entire life, she had only experienced this feeling of mutual pursuit with Qiu Yang; with others, she was the one being pursued. And now she was here sharing her experience with Qin Yu, who was two years older than her.

Unbelievable.

Qin Yu scratched his head again. “Is that how it is?”

“Yeah, I don’t have any other knowledge to impart. You figure it out yourself,” Shen Ningruo said, leaning forward slightly. “But I am a bit curious about the identity of that guy.”

“Top secret for now,” Qin Yu raised an eyebrow. “But he’s about… six years younger than me.”

“Brother.”

“An old ox eating young grass, that’s you.”

Shen Ningruo didn’t forget to tease Qin Yu.

Qin Yu waved his hand and continued, “Keep it low-key, low-key. But he also travels between Beijing and Yuncheng, so our schedules match up well.” He immediately became confident. “If this isn’t a match made in heaven, what is?”

Shen Ningruo: “…So this is what a peacock fanning its tail looks like.”

Qin Yu smiled. “Alright, I won’t hide it from you anymore. Although he’s young, he’s very accomplished. Our company and his company are currently cooperating.”

“…Wen Yuan from Wanming?” Shen Ningruo thought for two seconds and guessed the answer.

Although she hadn’t met Wen Yuan, this basic knowledge was essential. This general manager was only 24 this year and had only been in office for two years, yet he had led Wanming to new heights.

He could be considered accomplished at a young age.

Qin Yu: ???

Qin Yu: “Can’t you leave a little suspense?”

“No,” Shen Ningruo smiled modestly. “It’s not my fault I have a good memory.”

Qin Yu rubbed the ring on his index finger. “I haven’t known him for long, so I’m not very confident.”

“It’s okay, just don’t be clingy. Pursuing someone should be done with grace,” Shen Ningruo had already started comforting him.

Qin Yu didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “You’re practically ready to play the suona and carry me away.”

“But speaking of which, I want to talk about this after he finishes dealing with his family matters. He told me two days ago that he just found out he has a sister, and she’s even at his company.”

“It’s just that his sister doesn’t know yet, and he’s struggling with how to acknowledge her.”
