Chapter 027.2 The Young Master – “Why is this couple so good?!” (27.2/35)

Chapter 027.2 The Young Master – “Why is this couple so good?!” (27.2/35)

“Alright.” Wen Xusheng nodded in agreement.

Shi Jingge turned his gaze back to the plum blossom poles.

>> The young master is really quiet today. <<

>> Yeah, he’s different from last time. Feels like he’s in a bad mood QAQ. <<

>> That’s normal. Who wouldn’t be after what just happened? <<

>> It’s just heartbreaking. <<

>> So heartbreaking. Ugh, those haters have no hearts! <<

>> This is infuriating! I’m going back to battle those haters for three hundred rounds!! <<

>> Wait, wait, wait! Take me with you!! <<

The trolls outside the livestream: “?”

They also had feelings, you know!!

But the Shi Jingge inside the livestream was undeniably different from before.

Last time, Shi Jingge was radiant and full of energy with an undeniable glow that couldn’t be hidden, incredibly captivating.

This time, however, he seemed deeply troubled, like a frost-bitten eggplant, exuding an inexplicable sense of exhaustion.

…Was it because of the recent backlash? Had he not been resting well?

Mr. Troll couldn’t shake the feeling that Shi Jingge wasn’t the type to care about public opinion. If not that, then what could it be?

He racked his brain but couldn’t figure it out. The more he watched Shi Jingge, the more pitiful he seemed.

Before he even realized it, he’d sent Shi Jingge a gift.

One worth exactly 131.4 yuan[mfn]18.57 United States Dollar as of 29NOV2025[/mfn].

The next second, Mr. Troll snapped back to reality, and it was pure agony.

Damn it, this little rich kid was a million times richer than him!!

Why the hell did he give money to someone like this?!

“You go in front then,” Shi Jingge said.

A rope connected the two of them. The person behind was easily affected by the force from the front, disrupting their balance, so it was more difficult for the person in the rear.

Wen Xusheng shook his head. “I’m taller. I’ll go behind, you go in front.”

The young master narrowed his eyes. “Are you implying I’m short?”

Wen Xusheng cleared his throat and replied sincerely, “Blame it on me growing a bit taller.”

Shi Jingge shot him a glare.

>> LOL, even the young master cares about height? <<

>> Hahaha, the young master isn’t short, just that Brother Wen is a bit taller. <<

>> Brother Wen is so doting, hahaha. <<

>> Both fighting to take the harder task—definitely mutual feelings! <<

>> Young Master, don’t give up! With effort, you can still shoot up a few inches at twenty-eight! <<

>> Pardon my bluntness, but even if you shoot up a few more inches, you might not catch up to Brother Wen. <<

>> Hahaha, damn, that’s so damn hurtful! <<

“I’ve done this before,” the young master muttered.

Wen Xusheng looked surprised.

“Who didn’t get into fights when they were young?” the young master declared with righteous indignation.

Wen Xusheng nodded in agreement. “True.”

But what did that have to do with the Plum Blossom Posts?

“Losing a fight is so embarrassing. I heard that guy learned some Taekwondo. So I made my brother send me to martial arts training. The first thing we practiced was this plum blossom pole. I said I didn’t want to do it anymore, but my brother was a tyrant. He said since we’d paid the money, I had to finish the course.”

The young master looked up at the plum blossom posts, his eyes full of resentment. “I know all about this damn thing.”

God knows how many times he’d fallen off.

Wen Xusheng stifled a laugh and asked curiously, “So did you win in the end?”

The young master fell silent. After a long pause, he gritted his teeth and spat, “No.”

The comments exploded with laughter.

>> Look at that face—he didn’t just lose, did he? <<

>> Did he get counter-killed? <<

>> Hahahaha this kid’s hilarious! <<

>> LOL I can totally picture the young master crying and running back to tell his big brother. <<

>> Then getting scolded by his brother. <<

>> Poor young master, hahaha. <<

>> Damn, how hilarious is this! <<

In the end, Wen Xusheng still led the way with the young master following behind.

As soon as he was on the first post, Wen Xusheng pursed his lips. “It’s wobbly,” he said, cautiously stepping onto the second post. He took the chance to warn Shi Jingge, “Take it slow.”

The rope kept them at a fixed distance; otherwise, Shi Jingge behind him would easily lose his balance.

As Wen Xusheng placed one foot on the second post, Shi Jingge’s foot was about to come up onto the first one.

The moment his foot touched down, Shi Jingge felt unsteady. It really swayed.

And because of the rope, the person behind had to be extra cautious.

After a pause, the young master couldn’t hold back. “The production team probably never intended for us to eat, right?”

Wen Xusheng nodded in deep agreement.

The young master murmured, “Keep going.”

Wen Xusheng replied, “Alright.”

Once Wen Xusheng had stepped fully onto the second plum-blossom post and steadied himself, Shi Jingge finally stepped onto the first one.

With both men now on the posts, the real test was just beginning.

But the young master had already planned for this.

“One, two, kick!” he shouted, the signal they’d agreed upon long ago.

At the word “kick,” Wen Xusheng and Shi Jingge lifted their feet simultaneously, both landing on their next wooden post.

The difference was that Wen Xusheng stood with one foot on the third post while Shi Jingge stood fully on the second post with Wen Xusheng’s foot beside him.

This truly demanded exceptional balance from the young master.

Wen Xusheng took a deep breath, trying to keep his movements as light as possible. These rickety stakes were far too unstable. If he exerted even a little too much force when pulling his other foot back, the second stake would surely wobble and make the young master lose his balance.

Wen Xusheng lowered his voice, his tone unusually solemn. “One, two, three, and down.”

In that instant, the two moved together in perfect, seamless coordination.

But no matter how careful Wen Xusheng was, the force of his foot withdrawal still caused the second stump to wobble. True to his past training on plum blossom posts, the young master steadied himself and stood firmly on the second stump.

“The young master is amazing!” Meng Yisong exclaimed in surprise. “He managed to steady himself!”

“This production team is being downright cruel,” Meng Yisong’s partner complained. This thing actually wobbles! They’re determined to starve us, aren’t they?“

”We’re done for. No dinner tonight.“

Meng Yisong sighed. ”Shut up. Stop staring and learn from this. If you fall, the production team will take advantage; it’s all mud down there.”

His partner sighed gloomily. “What good is summarizing lessons for something that tests your stamina and balance? Better to just pray for good health.”

Meng Yisong silently gave him a hard whack.

“Ouch, ouch, go easy on me—go easy on me, I tell you!”

By then, Wen Xusheng and Shi Jingge had reached the center of the plum blossom stakes, arriving at the location of the basket.

Taller by stature, Wen Xusheng instinctively took on the task of retrieving the basket.

“Which one?” Wen Xusheng asked.

“The first one,” Shi Jingge suggested. “It should be easiest to grab.”

Wen Xusheng nodded. “Alright.”

Fortunately, the production team showed some mercy. The basket wasn’t hung too high. Wen Xusheng reached up and pulled it down carefully.

The pair continued forward, moving slowly but steadily.

“They should be fine, right?” Meng Yisong murmured.

“It doesn’t look too difficult,” Wei Zhiyun chimed in. “The wooden poles sway, but the movement is manageable. They’ve all worked with wire harnesses before, so they retain some balance. No need to worry.”

“Looks like we’ll get to eat lunch today,” Shao Zechen exhaled, a hint of relief touching his lips.

Was that really the case?

Meng Yisong’s brow furrowed slightly.

And then, disaster struck.

The moment Wen Xusheng stepped on the new wooden post, the one bearing his other foot not only shook violently but actually rose several centimeters!

“Holy shit!”

“Oh my god!”

“No way!”

“That’s brutal!”

In that instant, Wen Xusheng instinctively pulled his other foot back, avoiding the swaying post.

But this action instantly widened the gap between him and Shi Jingge!

The rope simply wasn’t long enough. Shi Jingge was pulled forward, stumbling but managing to successfully jump while on the shaking post. The rope’s length was sufficient, but the post swayed dreadfully. Shi Jingge couldn’t steady himself, and neither could Wen Xusheng!

Both swayed precariously on the posts, teetering on the brink of falling. In that split second, the basket in Wen Xusheng’s hands flew out of his grasp.

“The basket!” Wen Xusheng shouted instinctively.

In a flash, Shi Jingge somehow managed to sit down on the post, spreading his legs to clamp it between his thighs. Combined with Wen Xusheng’s coordination and effort, they actually stabilized!

And Shi Jingge actually caught the basket too!

“Holy crap!”

“This can’t be real!”

“How did he do that?!”

“My god, the young master is way too cool!”

In just a few seconds, they’d stabilized.

Not only were the guests on-site stunned, but the live chat was flooded with comments!

>> Holy crap, how did he do that? <<

>> My young master is too cool! I think the dynamic between the young master and Brother Wen needs reevaluation. <<

>> Tsundere top! Tsundere tops are the best!! <<

>> The young master’s boyfriend vibes are off the charts! He’s not a young master—he’s a big shot! A BIG ONE!! <<

>> Awesome!! Awesome!!! The young master is so awesome!! <<

>> Sisters! Brothers! Type “Young Master is awesome” on the main chat!! <<

>> Aaaaaaah!! Young Master’s boyfriend vibes are off the charts!! <<

>> I declare, the Shengge CP is the sweetest!! <<

>> Young Master’s boyfriend vibes have always been on point. Didn’t you see yesterday’s gaming video? It even had Young Master’s sweet confession! <<

>> Holy crap where where? Baby point me in the right direction!! <<

>> That game video was way too long. I watched it at 8x speed and got dizzy—no clue what even happened. <<

>> There’s an edited version!! Here—《How Sweet is the Little Master and His Xingxing》 <<

>> AAAAAHHHH I’M WATCHING IT NOW!! <<

>> Don’t hold me back—I need my fix first!! <<

In that moment, even the haters felt their blood boil.

Before Mr. Troll knew it, another ¥131.40 had flown out.

Mr Troll: “…”

This criminal hand of his!

Mr. Troll was filled with regret. He turned on the comments, letting them cover the young master’s face and stop his criminal hand.

He’d spent money, his wallet was bone-dry, he was even resorting to eating instant noodles straight from the packet, and yet he was still sending gifts to this young master.

He really was sick.

Mr. Troll’s tears flowed like a river.

But when he glanced up at the comments, he was instantly drawn to a trending topic.

Mr. Troll pulled out his phone, found the clip, and took off his headphones to listen first.

But the livestream on his computer remained open.

“She can lose, but my idol can’t!”

“Since she was trained by my idol, she represents my idol’s honor, so she definitely can’t lose!”[mfn]Direct quote from chapter 2![/mfn]

The words rang out with force, commanding the entire screen, a stark contrast to his usual vote-begging persona. The chat exploded instantly.

>> I declare these two are locked together—I’ve swallowed the key!! <<

>> ??? Young master, you’re right next to your idol right now. Doesn’t this feel like a slap in the face? <<

>> Young Master, confess! How long have you been eyeing my Wen Ge? <<

>> I’ve never shipped CPs before, but the main characters are practically forcing me to! <<

>> Watching the entire video, I couldn’t stop grinning like an auntie. <<

Mr. Troll bookmarked the video on the spot.

The next second, he snapped back to reality and froze in place.

What the hell was he doing?!

He was a hater! A hater with professional integrity and ethics! He couldn’t possibly be a fan of celebrities! Much less a CP shipper!

CP’s are fake! They’re all staged! They’ll crash and burn sooner or later!!!

Shipping with genuine feelings invites retribution!!

Stop it! What are you doing?! Stop! Stop it, I said!!!

But no matter how much Mr. Troll mentally despised himself, trying to snap out of it, it was useless.

Not only did he save the video, he followed the editor, traced the thread to the Shengge CP fanbase, casually followed the super topic, and even checked in.

He clamped his right hand down hard, desperately trying to stop himself from downloading that fan paradise app.

But it was useless.

His right hand had a mind of its own.

Watching the app download, a thought suddenly struck him.

He was done for.

Damn it, who told this CP to be so damn good to ship, so damn good at bewitching people?

They forced him into this!!

Author’s Note: Wen Xusheng: Sigh, when will Shi Rongqing finally get hooked on a ship?

Wen Xusheng: Highly recommend Shengge ship, super satisfying to ship.

Shi Rongqing: ?????????

Shi Rongqing: I’m a sponsor! I demand a replacement—get Wen Xusheng off the show!

Staff: But Wen Ge is also our sponsor QAQ
