PTBLSI chapter 56

Model

Only after Fu Yanchuan got into the car did the tension on his face finally ease. He adjusted the seat backward and reached toward Qi Xi in the passenger seat.

“Xixi, come here.”

Qi Xi grabbed Fu Yanchuan’s hand and climbed over. He didn’t know what Fu Yanchuan had said to his mom, but it was the first time he’d seen him show such a complicated expression.

He fell onto Fu Yanchuan’s legs, wrapped his arms around him, pressed close, and said, “Brother Yan, I’ll stay with you. No matter what happens, I’ll stay with you. Don’t make that kind of face anymore.”

Suddenly, Fu Yanchuan pulled Qi Xi hard into his arms, buried his face in Qi Xi’s shoulder, and after a long while, said, “Xixi, thank you.”

“Why…why thank me? I didn’t do anything.”

It was the first time Qi Xi had been thanked by Fu Yanchuan. Even though he didn’t know what for, a strange sense of satisfaction rose in his heart. He kissed Fu Yanchuan’s neck and smiled without realizing it.

After a long time, Fu Yanchuan said, “Didn’t we agree that when we got back, I’d be your model?”

The topic shifted too fast. Qi Xi was thrown into confusion and couldn’t think about Fu Yanchuan and his mom anymore. He replied, “Are we going back to draw now? Last time, you said that being my model meant that I had to thank you. What kind of thanks do you want? Don’t make me think of something again.”

“You’ve already thanked me.”

Fu Yanchuan finally lifted his face and stared at him for a long moment. “From now on, can I be your exclusive model?”

Qi Xi felt like he’d gotten a great deal and immediately became happy. “Really? I don’t need to think of how to thank you, and I can draw however I want?”

“You can do whatever you want.”

Hearing Fu Yanchuan’s promise, Qi Xi took it seriously and thought about it. After they got back, he started preparing. After going back and forth, however, it was already afternoon. After dinner, he brought Fu Yanchuan to the side of the study where he painted.

When Fu Yanchuan went in, he hesitated for a moment. Qi Xi had spread a cloth on the floor by the floor-to-ceiling window. Upon closer inspection, it was his bedsheet. A chair had been placed in the middle. Fu Yanchuan didn’t know where Qi Xi had found it. Every portable lamp in the house had been brought over and arranged around the chair for lighting.

Standing in front of the easel, Qi Xi commanded him, “I’ve turned the heat up, Brother Yan. Hurry and take off your clothes!”

It was the first time Fu Yanchuan had seen Qi Xi like this. He took off his glasses and walked over. He lightly held Qi Xi’s neck with both hands, lowered his head, and gently touched Qi Xi’s lips. He stared straight into those peach-blossom eyes that tempted him. After a long time, he finally said, “Xixi, look at me.”

As if bewitched, Qi Xi looked at Fu Yanchuan. His eyes were seized by Fu Yanchuan’s body. He had seen many sides of Fu Yanchuan, but never watched him take off his clothes like this.

Fu Yanchuan was dressed more casually today. He took off his coat as soon as they got back. Underneath was a fitted turtleneck sweater and an undershirt.

Qi Xi watched as Fu Yanchuan’s fingers lightly hooked the hem of his clothes. He rolled up both layers together, revealing bit by bit the carved muscle lines of his waist. Qi Xi had only seen a half-hidden cluster of black and the V-lines, and his face had already turned completely red. Fu Yanchuan deliberately stared at him as he slowly took off his clothes.

Finally, Fu Yanchuan was completely topless. Qi Xi leaned over, rested his face against Fu Yanchuan’s chest, and asked, “Brother Yan, can I not look anymore?”

Fu Yanchuan didn’t move, only lowering his eyes. Qi Xi’s heated face burned against his. He asked Qi Xi again, “Why?”

“I’m getting turned on.”

Hearing those words gave Fu Yanchuan an unexpectedly pleasant feeling. He reached out, lightly pressing his hand against Qi Xi’s waist. Gently kissing his ear, he asked, “Still going to draw?”

After a long while, Qi Xi lifted his eyes to look at Fu Yanchuan. His expression showed both his desire to draw and his difficulty in enduring it. He nodded, gasped lightly, and asked, “Then… can I get turned on too?”

An image instantly appeared in Qi Xi’s mind. Fu Yanchuan continued, “Xixi, can you draw it?”

“I—”

Qi Xi choked on his words. Fu Yanchuan pressed his palm against Qi Xi’s face as if casting a spell and said, “This is art. Don’t be nervous.”

“Oh.”

He answered obediently, and Fu Yanchuan commanded, “Look at me.”

Qi Xi didn’t know how long the process lasted, but it felt very long—so long that he felt like he had counted every strand of Fu Yanchuan’s hair. Finally, Fu Yanchuan sat down in the chair that Qi Xi had arranged and asked, “What pose do you want?”

Qi Xi hid behind the easel, only exposing a pair of eyes to look over. “Anything is fine.”

Seeing how red Qi Xi’s face was, Fu Yanchuan casually leaned back against the chair, facing Qi Xi directly. He looked relaxed yet filled with the most primal sense of aggression.

“Brother Yan!”

“This is just drawing. I’m just your model.”

It was as if Qi Xi had been bewitched. He listened to Fu Yanchuan’s words. He’d never thought he would draw something like this, yet he couldn’t stop himself from moving the brush. He told himself not to be nervous, but he couldn’t help staring at that roasted sweet potato. Unable to restrain his tension, he endured it and kept drawing.

He kept drawing until late at night. From time to time, he met Fu Yanchuan’s gaze, then looked away, until finally, he confirmed he was done, letting out a long breath. He hurriedly dropped the brush and ran out.

Fu Yanchuan had been sitting for too long and was stiff. He stood up and loosened his joints. He guessed what Qi Xi had run out to do, so he walked over to look at the painting. He froze on the spot.

This time, he wasn’t sure if he was more shocked by Qi Xi’s painting or by himself in it. Although he had struck a somewhat roguish pose, what Qi Xi had painted exuded a kind of half-hidden restraint. The gaze seemed to pierce out of the painting, carrying an intense desire he hadn’t known he had, as if it were going to swallow the painter whole. Yet it also held an indescribable, limitless affection.

Had he been looking at Qi Xi with that kind of gaze for hours?

Qi Xi went to Fu Yanchuan’s room to get a bathrobe, then returned. When he saw Fu Yanchuan standing in front of the painting, he instantly felt embarrassed.

Drawing Fu Yanchuan was completely different from drawing practice photos of the human body. His mind was filled with intimate moments with Fu Yanchuan, and he unconsciously drew Fu Yanchuan with the kind of aggressive desire they had when they were close.

Suddenly, Fu Yanchuan turned his head back, and their eyes met. The clothes in Qi Xi’s hands fell to the floor. Blushing, he asked, “Brother Yan, what do you think?”

“I like it a lot.”

Fu Yanchuan pulled Qi Xi into his arms, fell onto the mat in front of the painting, and locked him into his embrace. He said it again: “Xixi, I really like it.”

Qi Xi had originally been afraid that Fu Yanchuan would say it was obscene. But when he heard that he liked it, he immediately became proud. “Did I draw you very sexy?”

“Mm.”

Fu Yanchuan responded, holding Qi Xi’s hand. “You haven’t signed it yet.”

Qi Xi often drew commissioned works and never signed them. Fu Yanchuan picked up the pen and stuffed it into his hand.

The clothes he brought back were completely useless. Standing close to Fu Yanchuan, they were almost touching. He pushed Fu Yanchuan’s shoulder and said, “Let go of me. I’ll go down and sign it.”

But Fu Yanchuan didn’t let him go. Still holding him, he moved closer to the painting.

Qi Xi could only lean over. Just as he was about to sign, Fu Yanchuan said, “I want you to sign it, ‘Xixi’.”

“Why?”

Qi Xi had always used the name Qiyueqi in his drawings and naturally signed it. Fu Yanchuan’s expression was unreadable, but he asked seriously, “Did you choose the name Qiyueqi because Xie Hui called you that?”

He nodded honestly. “At the time, I didn’t know what name to use. I thought of the nickname Xie Hui gave me and just used it.”

Fu Yanchuan’s voice suddenly softened. “This is something you drew for me. Don’t use that name. Sign it Xixi. Xixi belongs to me—only to me. You’re not allowed to let anyone else call you that.”

Qi Xi thought this request was unreasonable because only his mom and grandpa had ever called him that, and they were both gone.

No—he suddenly remembered. “Your mom also called me Xixi.”

“Doesn’t matter. Xixi belongs to me. Xixi belongs to Brother Yan Yan. Hurry up and sign.”

Fu Yanchuan didn’t notice that he had already been assimilated by Qi Xi. Looking at him, Qi Xi compromised and said helplessly, “Okay, what can I do? I like you so much.”

Those words smoothed out every part of Fu Yanchuan’s body. As he watched Qi Xi sign his name in the corner of the painting, Fu Yanchuan took the pen from his hand and leaned in to kiss him.

Startled, Qi Xi leaned back slightly and said vaguely, “Brother Yan, wait.”

Fu Yanchuan replied hoarsely, “Xixi, it’s been a whole night.”

At that moment, Qi Xi suddenly understood what Fu Yanchuan meant. He subconsciously lowered his eyes and looked. He realized that after drawing it once, it didn’t seem that frightening anymore. There was even a flutter of emotion that he was too embarrassed to voice.

Fu Yanchuan held his hand and guided it over. His palm felt scorched for a moment. He looked at Qi Xi and asked, “Are you still scared now?”

He seemed to suddenly understand and blurted out, “Did you deliberately let me draw it like that so I wouldn’t be afraid?”

Fu Yanchuan didn’t answer. He sealed Qi Xi’s mouth tightly, sweeping through every corner, and pressed him down onto the mat. He stuck close to him, then stopped and gently brushed his Adam’s apple. He asked, “Xixi, can I do a little more?”

“Do what?”

Qi Xi looked at Fu Yanchuan with a confused expression. Fu Yanchuan undid his waistband, pressed and rubbed against Qi Xi lightly. Thinking that was what he meant, Qi Xi nodded. Then, Fu Yanchuan stirred inside his mouth, moving past his chin to suck on his Adam’s apple. Qi Xi subconsciously let out a soft sound. Suddenly, Fu Yanchuan pulled his jeans down halfway, tangling them at his knees. Still confused, Qi Xi was pushed to turn sideways, with Fu Yanchuan’s body pressed against his back.

“Brother Yan?”

The mat wasn’t big enough. They had to curl up together to fit on it. Fu Yanchuan held Qi Xi tightly and kissed his ear lightly. “Put your knees together. Don’t move.”

“But—!”

Qi Xi couldn’t ignore the growing tension between them. Fu Yanchuan coaxed him more gently. “Don’t be nervous, okay?”

After a long while, Qi Xi finally nodded lightly. He lifted his eyes and saw the painting he had just finished. Fu Yanchuan’s hand reached around from behind and held his, moving back and forth repeatedly. For a moment, he felt as if there were two Fu Yanchuans beside him. Subconsciously, he grabbed Fu Yanchuan’s hand. By his ear, he heard Fu Yanchuan’s constant coaxing voice.

“Xixi, don’t be afraid.”

“Turn your head and look at me.”

When he turned his head, Fu Yanchuan bit his lip, pressing him deeply inside.

In the end, Qi Xi was wrapped in the bathrobe he had brought. Fu Yanchuan held him and they slept on the carpet. Qi Xi hid his face in Fu Yanchuan’s chest and said, “It’s all your fault. My painting mat got dirty.”

“We’ll change it tomorrow.”

“I don’t want to. I like this one.”

Fu Yanchuan was extremely satisfied. He lowered his eyes, lightly touching Qi Xi’s ears, which were still red as if they were about to drip blood. He said, “Then wash it and bring it back.”

Qi Xi replied in a muffled voice, “Next time, not here.”

“Okay.” Fu Yanchuan picked him up. “Go shower and sleep, okay?”

“Mm.”

Fu Yanchuan asked again, “Sleep with me, okay?”

“Mm.”

As they left, Fu Yanchuan looked at the painting of him that Qi Xi had drawn. He was jealous of the version of himself in the painting because it made Qi Xi care so much to draw it. Even at the very last moment, Qi Xi wasn’t looking at him, but at the painting. Irrationally, he made a demand.

“Xixi, from now on, when you do that, you have to look at me.”
