AAWOMAHI Chapter44

Lu Xingmian felt as though he was dreaming. In his dream, Lu Shiran was kissing him, it was a fierce yet tender kiss.

Lu Shiran was the person he liked, and since it was his own dream, Lu Xingmian had no reservations and responded with passion.

This was truly a beautiful dream.

At six-thirty in the morning, in the dim room, an alarm broke the silence. A hand quickly reached out and silenced the alarm.

Hearing the bell, Lu Xingmian let out a hum, his eyelashes fluttering as he was about to wake up.

A gentle and pleasant voice soothed him in his ear: “Lu Xingmian, you don’t need to get up so early today. Sleep a little longer.”

Lu Xingmian let out a near-silent “en,” and like a small animal, he snuggled against Lu Shiran and fell back asleep.

Lu Shiran was melted by his little actions. He knew Lu Xingmian was adorable when he was asleep, with a faint blush on his cheeks that was very alluring, but he was just as cute when he was half-awake. He was soft and sweet, looking like he could easily be led astray.

This was the first time Lu Shiran had seen Lu Xingmian half-awake; the last time, after lulling him to sleep, he hadn’t stayed in the same bed but left his room instead.

A smile played in Lu Shiran’s eyes as he quietly and greedily watched the person in his arms. The old man’s heart was finally blooming.

Lu Xingmian felt like he had never slept so soundly or so deeply before. It had been a long time since he’d experienced what it was like to wake up naturally.

But now he knew. The feeling of waking up naturally was so comfortable.

His whole body felt relaxed and refreshed, as if he had slept for a hundred years, with every cell radiating contentment. He couldn’t even bring himself to open his eyes.

Lu Xingmian cozily hugged the pillow in his arms, rubbing his chin against it. Today’s pillow felt a little different, it was very warm, just like Lu Shiran was beside him.

“You are awake?”

A pleasant, low voice came from above him.

Lu Xingmian froze and slowly looked up, he met Lu Shiran’s eyes. Lu Shiran was looking at him with a gentle smile.

He realized the face was the exact same as in his wet dream.

Lu Shiran looked at him tenderly: “I shouldn’t have let you drink so much red wine last night. Do you feel sick?”

Lu Xingmian’s mind went blank, then exploded. What was happening? Why was he in Lu Shiran’s bed? Why was he in Lu Shiran’s arms?

Could it be that after getting drunk yesterday, he had clung to Lu Shiran and ended up in his bed?

Lu Xingmian felt a headache coming on. Was his drinking behavior really that bad?

He tried to remember what happened yesterday, and after a few seconds, the memories of last night came rushing back.

Then, Lu Xingmian’s head hurt even more. After he drank last night, the alcohol had given him courage, and he had actually kissed Lu Shiran on the sofa.

Ahhhh!!! He was so bold! He actually kissed Lu Shiran! How dare he?!

Unable to face reality, Lu Xingmian quickly tried to get up but was stopped. Lu Shiran asked him, “Where are you going?”

Lu Xingmian drew back, lifted his gaze, and noticed the split on Lu Shiran’s lip. Had he done that? God, just how hard had he kissed him last night?

Lu Xingmian’s first thought was to run, so he said, “I need to use the bathroom.”

In reality, Lu Xingmian didn’t need to use the bathroom; he just wanted a place to be alone.

He was currently feeling a mix of excitement, thrill, and fear.

Once inside the bathroom, Lu Xingmian was stunned again as he looked at himself in the mirror. His lips were a little swollen, and his Cupid’s bow seemed more prominent than usual. And what were those two red marks on his neck?

He remembered he hadn’t been hurt yesterday, and when he touched them, they didn’t hurt either.

Wait a minute, he didn’t remember changing into these pajamas. He recalled wearing a different set of clothes on the sofa. Lu Shiran was the one who helped him change into his pajamas!

Before he could process the shock of the outfit change, Lu Xingmian was hit with an even more shocking realization.

He remembered the way Lu Shiran had kissed him on the sofa. Lu Shiran hadn’t just kissed his lips; he had also kissed his neck and his ears. Lu Shiran had even said he would be responsible.

Lu Xingmian suddenly couldn’t tell if it had truly happened or was only a dream. Standing before the mirror, he forced himself to remember, and once again the memories struck him hard.

The two had kissed for a long time on the sofa last night. When the kissing ended, he had even teased Lu Shiran: “Ge, it’s so big.”

Lu Xingmian buried his face in his hands. Maybe he should just move out of Lu Shiran’s place today, there was no way he could keep staying here.

But how could he face Lu Shiran when he went out? Should he pretend he didn’t remember anything?

Lu Xingmian had been in the bathroom for more than twenty minutes. Worried, Lu Shiran went over and knocked on the door. “Lu Xingmian, are you alright?”

Inside the bathroom, Lu Xingmian replied in a fluster, “I-I’m fine.”

When he opened the door, Lu Shiran was standing right there. Seeing Lu Xingmian avoiding his gaze, Lu Shiran said seriously, “Lu Xingmian, let’s talk.”

He didn’t know what Lu Xingmian was thinking, but he knew the matter needed to be resolved quickly.

Lu Xingmian felt a headache and a guilty conscience: “Talk about what?” Lu Shiran wasn’t going to lecture him and kick him out, was he?

Lu Shiran asked bluntly, “Lu Xingmian, how much do you remember from last night?”

So he was here to hold him accountable after all.

Lu Xingmian gulped: “I’m sorry, I drank too much yesterday and don’t remember anything.”

Then he heard Lu Shiran sigh, his tone sounding very helpless. Lu Xingmian became even more anxious. It was over. Lu Shiran seemed genuinely angry.

He cautiously looked at Lu Shiran, but his expression didn’t seem angry now.

“Lu Xingmian, it doesn’t matter if you don’t remember what happened last night. You just need to remember what I’m about to say,” Lu Shiran said. “Lu Xingmian, I like you.”

Lu Xingmian was stunned for several minutes before he finally processed what Lu Shiran had said.

Was Lu Shiran confessing to him? He wasn’t here to hold him accountable?

Lu Shiran continued, “You kissed me yesterday, and you said I must be responsible for you. Lu Xingmian, I want to be responsible for you. I am willing to be responsible for you.”

Lu Xingmian blinked and took a step back, but Lu Shiran stepped forward, trapping him between the wall and himself.

Lu Xingmian looked up at him, his adam apple bobbing nervously. “I was just talking nonsense when I was drunk. You don’t have to take it seriously.”

Lu Shiran suddenly leaned in, their lips nearly brushing, breaths entwining in the air. Lu Xingmian’s breath faltered.

Lu Shiran kissed his lips, and his eyes sparkling. “You can’t take back what you said. Lu Xingmian, I like you.”

Lu Shiran’s voice was so pleasant, and hearing a confession from him made Lu Xingmian unable to resist. His mind was filled with nothing but “Lu Xingmian, I like you.”

Lu Shiran had actually confessed to him, and he had kissed him. Lu Xingmian felt his heart race, as if he were drunk all over again.

Lu Xingmian’s ears turned red. Lu Shiran knew he was shy and that he tended to shy away when he was embarrassed.

Lu Shiran took full advantage of his voice, calling out Lu Xingmian’s name: “Lu Xingmian.”

His voice was truly seductive. Lu Xingmian felt countless tiny electric currents run through his body, causing him to tremble.

Lu Shiran called his name again: “Lu Xingmian?”

Hearing Lu Shiran say his name in that tone made Lu Xingmian’s heart flutter. He completely surrendered and whispered, “Okay.”

Lu Shiran’s tense body relaxed, and he smiled. “Then I’ll go make breakfast.”

Lu Xingmian was still a bit dazed. What did that mean? Are they together now?

The fact that the amazing Lu Shiran also liked him was something Lu Xingmian couldn’t believe. Lu Shiran liked him. Lu Shiran really liked him. This wasn’t a dream.

Lu Xingmian pressed his lips together and casually scrolled through his social media feed, but the stream of smiling emojis he posted betrayed just how excited, and far from calm, he really was.

Immediately after he posted, replies started coming in. He opened them and saw that they were all messages of “Congratulations.”

Lu Xingmian was startled. He hadn’t said anything, so why was everyone congratulating him? Was it that obvious? He had only posted a few smiling emojis.

Just as he anxiously hovered over deleting the post, he noticed Song Yihan’s comment.

Song Yihan: [Congratulations! Yancheng University is beckoning you.]

It was then that Lu Xingmian realized they thought he was talking about his grades. It was his guilty conscience that made him overthink it.

He refreshed his feed again and saw that Lu Shiran had liked his post. His face turned red. Wasn’t he in the kitchen making breakfast? How did he see it so quickly? And he had a feeling that Lu Shiran knew what the smiling emojis really meant.

Because Lu Xingmian had been drunk yesterday, Lu Shiran made a lighter breakfast.

During the meal, Lu Shiran asked him, “Are you dizzy? Do you feel unwell?”

Lu Xingmian shook his head: “I don’t feel unwell at all.”

Lu Shiran said, “Is there anywhere you want to go? I’ll take you out today.” He wanted to take his little boyfriend out.

Lu Xingmian thought about it. There really wasn’t anywhere he wanted to go. Since he finally had a day off, he preferred to stay home, where it didn’t cost anything.

So, the two of them stayed at home all day.

Lu Xingmian realized that his relationship with Lu Shiran felt both changed and unchanged, their interactions remained the same, yet carried a newfound intimacy.

Before, when they sat watching TV together, Lu Shiran wouldn’t hold him. So when Lu Shiran came over and held him, Lu Xingmian was stunned for a moment before he realized that Lu Shiran was now his boyfriend.

Lu Xingmian asked him, “Ge, does this mean I can hug you whenever I want from now on?”

Lu Shiran replied, “Yes.”

Lu Xingmian excitedly went over and hugged him. It really wasn’t a dream; he was hugging Lu Shiran. His embrace was so warm.

Seeing how happy he was, Lu Shiran remembered the shy way Lu Xingmian had asked to hug him during the New Year. Lu Shiran’s heart ached. “Lu Xingmian, you can hug me whenever you want from now on.”

In the evening, as Lu Xingmian was about to go back to his own room but Lu Shiran stopped him.

“Lu Xingmian, you’re going the wrong way. It’s over here.”

That was Lu Shiran’s room. But they had just confirmed their relationship today. Wasn’t this a bit too fast?

Under Lu Shiran’s gaze, the blushing Lu Xingmian was led by the hand into his room.

Lu Shiran had already sensed his nervousness and chuckled. “You don’t have to be so nervous. I won’t do anything; I just want to properly lull you to sleep.”

Lu Xingmian retorted, “I’m not nervous at all.”

This time, Lu Shiran didn’t hold a storybook. Instead, he held Lu Xingmian, and each word was like a warm pair of hands soothing Lu Xingmian’s most sensitive parts.

It turned out that lying in Lu Shiran’s arms and listening to his stories was the happiest feeling in the world.

Just before he fell asleep, Lu Xingmian murmured, “Ge, I really wish I could be lulled to sleep by you like this forever.”

Lu Shiran sealed his face with a kiss and promised, “You will.”
