ABFA Chapter 9

Admission 3

On the first day of school, Jiang Yue got up and headed to the First Teaching Building for class. While the dorm rooms of others were lively with groups chatting and laughing as they went to class, Jiang Yue’s roommates all seemed to prefer going about things on their own.

It was as if eating or attending classes alone was the most normal thing in the world, leaving Jiang Yue, who was the type to hold hands with her girlfriends even when going to the restroom, completely baffled.

Feeling very awkward, Jiang Yue went to the cafeteria alone and then awkwardly followed the terminal’s navigation to find the First Teaching Building where her class was being held.

The classrooms in this interstellar society were incredibly advanced, with pristine white walls that could transform into 3D holographic screens at any moment.

The first class of the semester was Current Affairs and Policies. The instructor for the class was a male alpha with a buzz cut and a mild appearance. However, his physique was incredibly striking, reminding Jiang Yue of the muscular “Golden Wheel” from Deepfake Master Ma[mfn]Muscle Jinlun, the video up owner, showed off his figure in the video and demonstrated the AI face-changing function in a very sao way.Through the fitting of various micro-expressions, he made the video after the face transplant look seamless, as if it was really Da Sima himself showing off his muscles.[/mfn]. The contrast was nothing short of dramatic.

The alpha instructor scanned the room with a cheerful smile, clapped his hands from the podium, and said warmly, “This batch of students seems pretty decent. You all look like you’re in good shape. I hope you can endure hardship because the four years at the military academy won’t be easy.”

Jiang Yue began to feel restless in her seat.

The alpha instructor smiled again and said, “Of course, I should introduce myself first. My name is Si Xing’an, and I used to be a soldier. Looking at all of you, I’m reminded of my first day at the Federation Military Academy. I was just like you—ignorant yet carefree, with no idea what the future would hold.”

The students in the class listened quietly as he spoke.

“When I was a freshman, I always thought war was something far off, until in my third year, when the instructors took us to the battlefield.”

The smile disappeared from his eyes, and his expression suddenly grew very serious. “When I was in my teens, I loved playing video games and was fascinated by the gunfire and explosions in the games. But it wasn’t until that moment that I truly understood what war is.”

He rolled up the sleeves of his white shirt, revealing a smoothly defined muscle line on his forearm, where a circular scar was visible. “The mission my instructor was carrying out was only a Class C mission, which just required clearing out some mutated plants. But when we were using the mecha to clear a patch of mutated ivy, a mutated vine as tall as a five-story building suddenly burst out of the ground. The mecha, which seemed invincible in my eyes, was sliced open like butter by its leaves, and what was supposed to be a Class C mission quickly turned into a Class A mission.”

“One of its thin vines pierced straight through my arm without any resistance. If my instructor hadn’t used a plasma cutter to sever it, I’d have been dead by now.”

The other alphas listened with excitement, but Jiang Yue felt a chill in her heart.

Si Xing’an said, “And this is still just a low-intelligence mutant species. Let’s not forget, we also have a much more formidable enemy—the Zerg.”

He slightly lowered his head and let out a sigh. “The Zerg—humanity’s nightmare. Although it’s a well-known story, I still need to recount the history of our struggles and conflicts with the Zerg.”

“The Zerg come from Bird Star. At first, we lived in peace, but their reproduction rate was far too fast, and soon, the Zerg began to invade other species and plunder resources.”

“This disgusting and perverse species is truly repulsive. Even though we held the advantage in terms of military power at the time, some of the Zerg’s attack methods were still beyond our ability to defend against.”

“There was once an entire army that was completely infested by the Zerg. Their bodies were filled with countless white Zerg eggs. We had no choice but to use flame guns to burn the entire army to ashes.”

“In order to fight the Zerg, humanity’s biological research labs developed mutant fungi strains, which caused heavy casualties for the Zerg. However, the Zerg’s vitality was too strong, and their genes began to rapidly evolve.”

“But the evolution of the mutant fungi strains soon surpassed humanity’s control, causing terrifying mutations in many plants and animals.”

“During this mutation crisis, both humanity and the Zerg fought against the mutants. We finally saw a rare period of peace, until 3119, when we captured the Zerg Queen alive, and the war finally came to an end.”

“In 3200, the Zerg fused the mutant genes, ushering in a full evolutionary leap for their entire species. Humanity began to fall into a disadvantage, and friction between the two sides intensified.”

“Now it is 3211, and the war is not far from us.”

Jiang Yue was covered in goosebumps, her body instinctively leaning back, every part of her seeming to resist.

She couldn’t even begin to imagine what it would be like for her to step onto the battlefield.

After all, she would get scared and huddle under the blankets even when there’s thunder in the sky.

If she really had to go to war, she would probably wet herself, crying rivers and wailing until the earth crumbled, the mountains collapsed, and the soldiers fell—an emotional breakdown beyond measure.

Classes, then breaks, then classes again, followed by more breaks.

No matter what world you’re in, studying is always so dull, tedious, and uninteresting.

At 6 p.m., after a full day of classes, Jiang Yue dragged her exhausted soul to the cafeteria to eat.

She ordered two pounds of sauced beef, eating while secretly observing. After eating at the cafeteria several times, Jiang Yue noticed that there were many alphas eating alone.

When Jiang Yue was in university, her classmates were all very sociable, and she was too. In her class, there were only a few people who preferred to be alone, and her roommates, whether intentionally or not, would always isolate those lone wolves.

But this world was different.

By the time Jiang Yue had finished half the plate of beef, six alphas had cheerfully sat down at the table in front of her.

Among the six tall and muscular alphas, one had his back slightly hunched, his head lowered, and his eyes revealed a strong sense of unease.

After the other five alphas sat down, he finally took a seat at the edge of the table, his back still slightly hunched.

Jiang Yue glanced up at them, and only then did she realize that these people looked familiar—they seemed to live in the dorm across from hers.

She picked up a piece of beef with her chopsticks, just about to put it in her mouth, when suddenly, a few sensitive words, accompanied by the loud noise of the crowd, pierced her overly sensitive ears.

“That female alpha eating the sauced beef is quite eye-catching… she must be a noble, looks so cold and aloof.”

Someone sneered, “She’s not a noble. The B2708 dorm in the Blue Whale District 2 apartment is full of people with impressive backgrounds, but this female alpha is just from a poor family. She might as well be a servant to her roommates.”

“All show, just pretending. She’ll be crying in a few days.”

“Really? She looks pretty strong to me.”

“Looks strong? What’s that worth? The one from the dorm across the hall? Last night, she was barking like a dog for half an hour.”

“Hahaha, that’s hilarious!”

“Hey, let’s go say hi to that female alpha. She stands out so much, I bet her dog barking sounds pretty good!”

Jiang Yue’s heart raced, and she couldn’t even finish the half-eaten beef. She quickly grabbed her tray, dumped the food into the recycling bin, and hurried out of the cafeteria.

When she returned to her dorm, the beautiful and dangerous alpha was sitting at the desk, reading.

It was a thick paper book, with a black and red title on the cover—The Whisper of the Gods.

It seemed that this roommate was a fan of the occult.

Jiang Yue quietly sat down at her own desk and began reading. Her book was also thick, titled Consciousness Projection, a book about mental powers.

This was a very common setup, so Jiang Yue was not surprised.

The reason she was so engrossed in the book was because it had a strong sense of dark humor.

Consciousness Projection was all about the aftereffects of losing control of mental powers.

The book described a genius with SSS-level psychic abilities who lost control and believed he was a cat. He spent his days defecating in his own pet’s litter box. His family was at a loss and had no choice but to buy him a foldable bathtub to use as a new litter box.

This genius also claimed to have seen an evil god in the universe. When others asked him what the evil god looked like, he pulled out a photo of his deceased first love, which led to his wife beating him up severely.

This book had become Jiang Yue’s bedtime read, and she truly enjoyed reading a few pages every night.

Her roommates gradually returned to the dorm, and when the buzz-cut roommate passed by her desk, he stopped. He slightly leaned his head toward her, pointing at the book in Jiang Yue’s hand and asked, “Consciousness Projection? Why are you reading this book?”

His voice was very deep, reminding Jiang Yue of the low growl of a Siberian tiger in the night.

Jiang Yue was startled by him and took a couple of seconds to recover before answering, “Because the language is very humorous. There’s this 3S-level genius who loses control and thinks he’s a cat. He even poops in his cat’s litter box at home. Isn’t that hilarious?”

The buzz-cut roommate pulled his head back, straightened his posture, and stared at Jiang Yue with an expressionless face, his eyes radiating deadly beams.

Jiang Yue immediately sensed something was wrong and instinctively leaned back.

The other roommates in the dorm also turned their attention toward them.

Jiang Yue nervously asked, “What’s wrong?”

The buzz-cut roommate gave a cold smile. “What do you think’s wrong?”

Jiang Yue, with no choice, asked again, “How would I know what’s wrong?”

The buzz-cut roommate coldly asked, “What do you mean by that?”

Jiang Yue was confused. “I didn’t mean anything.”

The buzz-cut roommate’s expression grew even colder. “What exactly do you mean?”

Jiang Yue was on the verge of losing it. She did her best to stay calm and asked, “What? What do you mean? I really didn’t mean anything. I just thought that example was funny, isn’t it?”

The buzz-cut roommate threw his jacket on the ground and looked at Jiang Yue with a murderous gleam in his eyes. “Let’s fight.”

Jiang Yue was completely losing her mind. “Why would I fight you? What’s wrong with you?”

She looked genuinely confused, and it didn’t seem like she was faking it.

The buzz-cut roommate frowned and asked, “You don’t know?”

At this point, Jiang Yue had truly had enough and was starting to get angry. “What am I supposed to know? Can you just explain yourself clearly?!”

The buzz-cut roommate tossed his head back, putting on a cool expression, and with a swift leap, he jumped onto his bed without even touching the ladder. His impressive jump was like that of a large, fierce tiger.

Jiang Yue was completely confused.

She thought for a long time but couldn’t figure out what was wrong. She kept reading until the lights went out for the night.

When she went to the public restroom to wash her face, she happened to run into Jiang Sen.

Jiang Sen was a strong and elegant alpha, always wearing a smile, looking laid-back and lazy.

After greeting Jiang Yue, he started brushing his teeth. Halfway through, he suddenly glanced at Jiang Yue.

Jiang Yue had just squeezed a bit of facial cleanser into her hand and was rubbing it into foam when she heard Jiang Sen’s voice, full of surprise, from the side. “How are you using this thing?”

Jiang Yue was taken aback. “Just bought it randomly.”

Jiang Yue was a soft and girly type who loved the color pink. Since the facial cleansers marketed for alphas had packaging that was too rugged for her taste, she couldn’t quite bring herself to buy them. So, she specifically went to the omega section to get her cleanser.

The bottle of cleanser was pink, with two little white bunnies hugging strawberries printed on it.

Jiang Yue couldn’t help but wonder, “Is this an alpha social death moment?” as she stood there, looking a bit awkward but trying to hide it.

Fortunately, Jiang Sen’s surprise only lasted a moment. After finishing brushing her teeth, Jiang Yue asked, “Do you know why the roommate across from me is angry?”

Jiang Sen paused for a moment, then grinned, his eyes narrowing in amusement. “So you really don’t know?”

“Know what?”

Jiang Sen burst out laughing. “The 3S-level genius who lost control and pooped in the litter box? That’s his brother!”
