Mid-November. The cold daylight dispersed the thin fog that had lingered for several days.
Li Chu had just finished filming an indoor scene. After the scene, she exited the set, and Qian Duoduo immediately brought a coat over, draped it over Li Chu, and pulled her into the shed.
Several heaters were placed inside the shed. Li Chu felt her frozen blood revitalize. She sniffed, hugged a hot water bottle, held a cup of hot water in her hand, and huddled on the small sofa.
Winter had arrived here, but the scene was still set in autumn. Fortunately, the temperature wasn’t too cold, so it didn’t make facial expressions stiff.
“Li Zi, go change. The fog has cleared. Director Ji said to film scene 733.”
Zhao Zhichun, wrapped in a down jacket, entered the shed, bringing a chill with him.
“Oh, okay, I’ll go right away. What about Teacher Ning? Isn’t she still in the shed on the east side of the city?”
Li Chu stood up. Scene 733 was a crucial emotional scene, originally scheduled to be filmed earlier, but it had been postponed due to the weather.
“Director Ji called her over. She should be here in ten or twenty minutes. Director Ji wants you to change first.”
Li Chu nodded, wrapped herself up like a ball, and headed towards the dressing room.
Zhao Zhichun laughed heartily at her appearance. Li Chu tucked her hands into her pockets, letting him laugh. This weather is really freaking cold.
While removing her makeup and applying new makeup, Li Chu recalled the script for scene 733.
She swallowed unconsciously, her heart wavering.
It was a night scene, and a kiss scene.
Thinking of the kiss scene, Li Chu couldn’t help but get distracted, recalling the last kiss scene.
Actually, from that day until now, they had kissed several times.
Sometimes in her room, sometimes in Ning Manqing’s room, sometimes just a peck, sometimes a deep, lingering kiss.
There was no particular reason, just the atmosphere. But every time, Ning Manqing initiated it. Li Chu didn’t refuse, but cooperated.
She couldn’t quite explain the current situation. It seemed like something was there, but it wasn’t enough to shake anything.
Before transmigrating, Li Chu had never been in a relationship. She had never had a crush, and the pangs of adolescence never appeared in her. Because she was busy, busy studying, busy improving herself. In college, she was busy with her studies and hobbies.
She was someone who loved new and exciting things, but she hadn’t tried those interesting things, and simply didn’t have time for love.
Although single, she was a master of emotions, giving her friends advice left and right, but it didn’t work on herself.
Because when it came to herself, she realized it wasn’t so easy to just cut it off, to like or dislike someone on a whim.
Li Chu knew she had feelings for Ning Manqing, physically, mentally, and even with pheromones, but she felt it hadn’t reached that point yet. She still didn’t want to exclusively possess Ning Manqing.
If Ning Manqing proposed a relationship right now, Li Chu didn’t know if she would agree.
She seemed to be looking forward to it, but also afraid.
She wasn’t afraid of Ning Manqing, but of the changing relationship.
However, Ning Manqing hadn’t explicitly stated anything, yet sometimes acted very intimately and preferentially towards her. Li Chu had to admit she was quite receptive to this.
She felt like Ning Manqing was slowly boiling her like a frog in warm water, and she was the frog in the pot. But the water temperature was just right, like soaking in a hot spring, making her not want to jump out.
“Teacher Li, you’re done.”
Lina looked at Li Chu’s makeup in the mirror, carefully examining it before speaking.
“Okay, thank you.”
Li Chu was brought back to her senses by the voice and nodded with a smile.
After Lina left, Li Chu looked at her healthy-looking self in the mirror, and the curve of her smile widened.
Her makeup tonight was different from before. The upcoming scene was quite special, not just because it was a kiss scene.
Qin Mu and Xi Yiyun’s interactions were always a back-and-forth. Although they were the CP in this drama, there was little genuine affection between them. Their identities determined they wouldn’t easily fall in love. They were both hunters, and wouldn’t allow themselves to indulge. Thus, the unintentional truth amidst their interplay was particularly moving.
For Qin Mu, Xi Yiyun was the type of person she could never become. In fact, if she could, Qin Mu wouldn’t want her current life, but she had no choice. Everything she had, her redemption, her reliance, had been destroyed. She couldn’t let Li Sudong, who had ruined all of this, go, and she couldn’t let herself go either.
Xi Yiyun wasn’t a traditional Li Rui-type police officer. She wasn’t driven solely by passion and a sense of justice. A larger part was because she enjoyed it. Her personality, like her pheromones, was dazzling, dispelling darkness, and as proud and self-assured as a sun god.
For Xi Yiyun, Qin Mu wasn’t just a suspect, but also a very interesting and difficult opponent to figure out. She was clearly a venomous snake, yet disguised herself as a harmless flower, leading everyone into her trap.
She enjoyed this game immensely, with the ultimate goal of defeating Qin Mu completely.
It was precisely because of the unconventional nature of Qin Mu and Xi Yiyun’s relationship that scene 733 was so special, because it wasn’t planned or driven by either of them; it happened naturally.
It was a moonlit night. Qin Mu had just returned home and closed the door when she sensed something was wrong.
Although not a professional criminal investigator, she had a strong sense of environmental awareness and danger. When she closed the door, she felt that strangers had entered her house, more than one.
Qin Mu wanted to use the pretense of making a phone call to leave, but the intruders didn’t give her a chance. A cold knife was pressed against her back, the lights in the room were turned on, and the windows and curtains were tightly drawn.
Qin Mu raised her hands and looked at the several people standing behind her through the mirror on the wall, asking their purpose.
This was unexpected for Qin Mu. She had a hunch about their intentions and felt a vague sense of trouble.
The men and women who broke into her house were members of a gang operating in the area. The gang was in the midst of a power struggle, and the most important token was placed in the hands of a small leader named Ying Zhu by the former gang leader.
These people belonged to the rebel faction. They wanted to quickly find the token. After killing Ying Zhu, they didn’t find the token, but they knew Ying Zhu had a beloved omega, so they came to Qin Mu’s house, hoping to get the token and then silence her.
Qin Mu dealt with these desperate criminals. She didn’t pretend to be weak as she usually did, because she knew that at this point, whether she could produce the token or not, she would be silenced. So she could only pretend to think, trying to delay as much as possible to escape.
The token was indeed in Qin Mu’s hands, but this was completely outside of her plan. Qin Mu initially saved Ying Zhu, intending to use him as a pawn. Ying Zhu did help her with a lot of things, but after Ying Zhu gained some status in the gang, Qin Mu broke off contact with him and forbade him from looking for her.
Working in a gang, one never knew when they would be targeted by the police. If it was just an unknown nobody, then no one would care. But if it was someone with a name and a face, it would be too conspicuous for Qin Mu. She didn’t want any slip-ups to be caught by the police before her plan was complete.
Ying Zhu came to Qin Mu before a mission and gave her the token. Qin Mu didn’t want to accept this hot potato, but Ying Zhu said she was the only person he could trust, and no one would think of her. He also told her that if she delivered it to another person, what she got in return would be very helpful to her plan.
However, judging from the current situation, this wasn’t help, but a big trouble. Qin Mu had already delivered the token. She had just returned home after delivering it when she was ambushed.
Just as Qin Mu was thinking about how to escape, her phone rang.
The caller was Xi Yiyun. Qin Mu didn’t save her contact as “Officer” or anything like that. Under the gaze of several people, she calmly answered the phone. Her words, completely inconsistent with her usual demeanor, were enough to attract Xi Yiyun’s attention on the other end.
Qin Mu used suggestive language to indicate her current situation, and Xi Yiyun also gave her answer.
Here, Li Chu had a scene involving coercion. She needed to jump from her window to another balcony, then jump onto Xi Yiyun’s car, sit in the back seat, and speed away.
Then came an intense and thrilling chase scene. During the chase, both of them showed a side that was different from what they usually presented to each other, but neither was surprised, because they both knew the truth.
Xi Yiyun was shot in the shoulder while saving Qin Mu. In a hidden spot, she calmly treated her wound, decisive and efficient, like some kind of dangerous and powerful beautiful beast.
The blood seemed to release the wildness hidden beneath her perfect facade, making Qin Mu’s heart palpitate.
Night, chase, adrenaline, panting, pheromones, blood – these elements intertwined, resulting in an ambiguous kiss.
The roar of a motorcycle suddenly came from outside. Li Chu snapped out of the script, stood up curiously, and walked towards the door.
“Sister Li, come out quickly…”
Qian Duoduo happened to open the door and saw Li Chu’s face. Her voice abruptly stopped, her expression changing from happy to shocked in an instant, patting her chest.
“That was close! I almost hit your face. You scared me to death. I’ll definitely knock next time before opening the door.”
Qian Duoduo almost had a heart attack. If she had hit Li Chu’s face, she would have committed suicide on the spot.
“It’s okay, it’s okay, you didn’t hit me.”
Li Chu comforted her startled assistant, a feeling in her heart. She pushed the door open and walked out.
Without Qian Duoduo saying anything, Li Chu knew what she had wanted to say.
A motorcycle stopped outside the shed. Its cool black exterior made hearts race.
“Teacher Ning looks so handsome like this. She’s getting more and more alpha-like.”
Qian Duoduo cupped her face, unable to help but sigh.
Gentle, intellectual, and refined one moment, wild, cold, and abstinent the next. Absolutely the perfect alpha. Paired with Li Chu, such a sweetheart, it was simply too shippable!
During her time on set, Qian Duoduo hadn’t done much else, but she had become increasingly obsessed with shipping them.
The rider wore a helmet, long legs planted firmly on the ground. The black fabric wrapped around her beautiful leg lines, like a straight blade, sleek and slender.
She took off her helmet, and a pair of clear eyes met Li Chu’s gaze. When those eyes caught sight of Li Chu, the ice and snow melted, overflowing with the warmth of a spring breeze.
Just this one glance, and Li Chu felt a stronger urge to have sex than ever before.
