BMHS Chapter 047.2

Yan Sui didn’t know the relationship between He Yue and Yan Yu before, but Old Lady He always knew. Yan Sui’s awkward situation hadn’t changed at all. His coming to investigate meant he had to face He Yue first, face Yan Yu, and possibly face their hatred and anger.

For Yan Sui, none of this ever made sense, yet it seemed like he had to bear the brunt of their misplaced anger.

Old Lady He was momentarily speechless, but she was convinced that Yan Sui was willing to help her. “Grandma has never asked you for anything, Yan Sui. Please help Grandma investigate, please bring the person back for Grandma. I am his mother, this is his home.”

“There are many people who have never asked Yan Sui for anything…” Meng Ting muttered again. They were sitting close, so even if he lowered his voice, it was enough for Old Lady He and Yan Sui to hear. Old Lady He had asked Yan Sui to bring Meng Ting, but the effect was completely contrary to what she had expected.

Although Meng Ting was the new ‘daughter-in-law’ entering the family, he was neither warm nor cold towards He Wan, and felt no need to curry favor with Old Lady He. He had married Yan Sui, so naturally, he would treat Yan Sui well. Since these people did not treat Yan Sui well, he did not feel the need to make them like him.

Yan Sui tightened his grip on Meng Ting’s hand. Meng Ting glanced at Yan Sui and said nothing more.

“The Yan family does not owe the He family anything. He Wan might owe someone something, but I don’t,” Yan Sui said, his expression unchanged, showing no sign of being moved. Old Lady He felt that she was pitiful, but neither he nor Meng Ting by his side had ever been favored by fate.

They both walked out of the darkest times of their lives alone before meeting each other, which is why he felt distressed for Meng Ting, and Meng Ting felt distressed for him too.

“Why do you think I can bring him back?” The sarcasm in Yan Sui’s eyes was no longer hidden, and his voice dropped even lower, “If it were me, I wouldn’t want to come back either.”

Old Lady He thought that her inaction back then was to avoid letting anyone down, but her inaction was actually her indulgence of He Wan. “You should have dragged He Wan to have an abortion back then, instead of letting her give birth to me.”

When Yan Sui mentioned He Wan’s name, he used the same tone as when he called her mother, but slightly different. One could sense his coldness——complete coldness towards his biological mother.

He was now mocking his grandmother’s decision back then, thinking she should have taken his mother to have an abortion. From birth, he had already denied his own existence.

“My being alive is proof of your betrayal of He Yue, so he won’t come back to the He family.”

What’s the use of her being his mother? This place used to be his home, but what use was that? Betrayal is betrayal, mistakes are mistakes. Everything has happened, and the ‘mistakes’ have grown up and started families. Now, wanting to make amends is too late.

Yan Sui was so sharp and ruthless, clearly beyond what Old Lady He had anticipated. She stared blankly, as if trying to discern something from Yan Sui’s expression and eyes.

But there was nothing; she couldn’t see anything at all.

Yan Sui’s temperament was unlike He Wan, unlike Yan Yu, and even more dissimilar to her two deceased friends… But figuring out who he resembled was futile. This was the Yan Sui she had to face now——calm and rational to the point of being heartless.

“You don’t look for He Zhen… Heh, it seems you’re not too confused,” Yan Sui said, and didn’t elaborate further. The Yan family did not educate their children well, and the same was true for the He family. As for He Yue, they were not the ones who educated him. He Zhen and He Wan were clearly failures.

Old Lady He’s pleading expression gradually faded, and the symptoms of her almost fainting from agitation also disappeared. She looked over, her gaze carrying a hint of darkness.

“You need to live well; only by living can you know… what the final outcome is.”

As Yan Sui spoke, he took Meng Ting’s hand, nodded slightly to Old Lady He, then wrapped his arm around Meng Ting’s waist, and left the tea room. They didn’t head to the He family’s living room but instead exited through the iron gate, got into their own car, and drove away.

“Yan Sui, there were still people in the room just now. I smelled smoke.”

Although the tea fragrance masked it, Meng Ting still caught the smell of smoke, which he didn’t particularly like.

“That should be Grandpa,” Yan Sui said, his eyes still showing no surprise. The contemplative look in his eyes faded as he turned to embrace Meng Ting, holding him close. Meng Ting’s intention to protect him warmed his heart, making him feel warm even in a place he didn’t particularly like.

Meng Ting didn’t know what to say, so he hugged Yan Sui back and gently stroked his back.

“Grandma knows, but Grandpa might not,” Yan Sui’s last sentence was a warning to her. He was not a pawn in He Wan’s hands, and he couldn’t be hers either.

He wouldn’t look for Yan Yu, and naturally, he wouldn’t look for He Yue either. The He family had long lost this son, and the people in the Yan family who truly hoped for their return were also no longer there. As far as Yan Sui was concerned, as long as he confirmed that they were alive and doing well, that was enough.

“Leg injury…”

Since Yan Yu was healthy, it must be He Yue who had an injured leg. Yan Yu’s frequent appearances in Country F were probably related to this.

***

By the time they returned to the Yan residence, it was completely dark. Yan Sui and Meng Ting had dinner, took a walk, and then went to the study as usual. Yan Sui read his documents while Meng Ting worked on his exam papers, but tonight, Meng Ting was clearly a bit distracted.

He would look at Yan Sui every now and then while working on his exam papers. After finally finishing, he took out some sugar-roasted chestnuts and started peeling them. After peeling about twenty or so, he brought them over to Yan Sui.

“Here, eat.”

Yan Sui looked at the chestnuts on the plate on the table, which had been peeled exceptionally clean, and then at Meng Ting’s fingers, which had become sticky from peeling the chestnuts.

Meng Ting thought Yan Sui was looking at his hands because he wanted him to feed him, so he immediately picked up a chestnut and brought it to Yan Sui’s mouth. Meng Ting believed that when one was in a bad mood, eating something delicious would make them feel better. He wasn’t sure if Yan Sui would feel the same way, but he hoped his mood would improve.

Yan Sui lowered his head and bit into the chestnut. After finishing one, Meng Ting immediately fed him another. It wasn’t until Yan Sui had eaten all the peeled chestnuts that Meng Ting nodded in satisfaction.

Meng Ting turned around as if he still wanted to peel more chestnuts, but Yan Sui wrapped his arms around his waist.

“Let’s rest early today. We’ll eat the chestnuts tomorrow.”

“Okay,” Meng Ting replied, but he still sighed inwardly. Even though his Yan Sui had eaten the chestnuts, his mood hadn’t improved, and he was affected to the point of wanting to sleep to feel better. He thought for a moment and added, “I’ll keep you company.”

Yan Sui quite liked Meng Ting’s earnestness, especially when he directed it towards himself.

***

Back in the room, Yan Sui directly led Meng Ting to the bathroom. Meng Ting looked at his own hands and also felt that he needed to go to the bathroom first.

“You are so amazing, you can peel chestnuts without getting your nails dirty. I can’t do that.” Meng Ting looked at his own dirty-looking nails, his expression a mix of admiration and shame. However, he was still very happy to be able to peel chestnuts for Yan Sui himself.

Yan Sui took a towel, wiped Meng Ting’s hands dry, then took a step forward and hugged him, “It’s okay, the chestnuts you peeled are sweeter than the ones I peeled.”

Meng Ting looked at Yan Sui, his expression slightly puzzled. He didn’t seem to have specifically chosen the ones that smelled particularly fragrant, because those that didn’t smell particularly fragrant could also taste sweeter and stickier.

Yan Sui’s hand pressed against the back of Meng Ting’s neck, kissing him again, then cradling the back of his head, pressing him against the bathroom wall to continue kissing.

Meng Ting paused for a moment but then responded to Yan Sui’s kiss. He was no longer out of breath after a brief kiss; he had probably gotten used to it through practice.

The two kissed deeper and deeper, and their clothes gradually came off.

The bathroom lights were very bright, enough for Yan Sui to see the person in front of him clearly——slightly curled hair, picturesque eyebrows, flushed cheeks, and lips that were rosy and slightly glistening from his kisses.

Not only was his face good-looking, but Meng Ting had been running every morning and recently learning swimming and fencing. His limbs were long, and his muscles well-defined. He was naturally fair, and these days, with better nutrition, his skin felt like warm jade to the touch. Meng Ting was still growing and would only become more and more handsome.

“Are you tired? How about… I take over?”

Meng Ting lifted his long eyelashes, his dark brown eyes sparkling like jewels. Yan Sui’s heart skipped a beat. He leaned in closer, his voice hoarse from restraint, whispering in Meng Ting’s ear, his words like a stringed instrument stirring the calm lake of the listener’s heart.

“Don’t you really know if I’m tired?”

Meng Ting’s heartbeat quickened at Yan Sui’s voice and proximity, his already muddled mind becoming even more confused.

However, Yan Sui didn’t have time to wait for him to sort it out. He kissed Meng Ting’s earlobe, pulling him under the showerhead. The sound of water rose, accompanied by Meng Ting’s soft moans, Yan Sui’s light gasps, and the unmistakable sound of their bodies colliding.

After almost a month, Meng Ting’s body gradually adapted to Yan Sui. Their physical compatibility and emotional closeness creating what could be considered the most harmonious married life.

The water from the shower wasn’t heavy, but it still made Meng Ting unable to open his eyes. He leaned against the wall with one hand and held Yan Sui’s hand that was resting on his lower abdomen with the other. His body had taken on a slight blush, and with it, he also became more sensitive.

Whether it was the water cascading down or the kisses Yan Sui placed on his back, he felt them all with incredible clarity, not to mention the even more sensitive areas.

“Yan Sui… I understand now…” He understand Yan Sui wouldn’t tire so easily.

But it seemed that it was too late for him to realize the implication of those words. His legs were feeling weak and he seemed to be unable to stand.

“Then let go of your hand first,” Meng Ting tugged at Yan Sui’s slightly mischievous hand placed in front of him, but didn’t pull it away, nor dared to use force.

“Be good, it’ll be over soon.”

Yan Sui opened his mouth and bit the soft flesh on the back of Meng Ting’s neck, leaving a faint bite mark, and then started licking it gently.

However, a man’s words were not very trustworthy, especially when it came to such matters. Yan Sui’s ‘soon’ and Meng Ting’s ‘soon’ were clearly not the same.

After a long while, Yan Sui held Meng Ting in his arms, and both of them reached the peak of pleasure at the same time.

But the long night was far from over. Yan Sui, who had returned to the room early, was still not satisfied. He moved the location of their lovemaking to the bathtub and had another round, conveniently taking a bath as well, saving him the trouble of carrying the person back and forth, and also the time it would take for them to wash up separately.

Meng Ting lay naked on the bed, pulling the blanket up to his neck, watching Yan Sui continue to take care of him——applying medicine, massaging his legs, kissing him.

“Am I a bit useless…?” His physical strength was clearly not bad, but in the end, it was always Yan Sui who was busy taking care of everything.

Hearing this, Yan Sui met Meng Ting’s gaze, continued to massage his legs, and then leaned down to kiss Meng Ting’s legs.

“Useful.”

Different positions made it impossible to talk about being useful or not, but Yan Sui could be sure that Meng Ting was useful, every time so ‘useful’ that it made him unable to resist.

Yan Sui casually draped a towel over his body, exposing the marks he had left. Meng Ting looked at those places, his cheeks reddening again. However, compared to before, he wasn’t as shy; he just thought Yan Sui looked good like this, so good that it made him want to blush.

“You look good like this.”

He not only thought so but also directly told Yan Sui.

Yan Sui tucked Meng Ting’s legs back under the blanket, feeling that his desire to be comforted was starting to resurface.

“I like you, I like you so much every day.”

As Meng Ting spoke, he lifted his legs and placed them over Yan Sui’s body, his hands also lifting the blanket. He looked at Yan Sui and said anxiously, “Hurry and lie down with me.”

Yan Sui’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down, “Okay.”
