Chapter 2: Drunk
Zhou Zizheng swallowed.
Between pushing him away and embracing him, he chose the latter, wrapping his arm around Yu Haozhou’s slender waist. A slight pull brought the two closer. He lowered his head and asked, “Why did you drink so much? In a bad mood?”
What a silly question. Would you be in a good mood if you had to marry a man you’d never met?
Yu Haozhou remained silent, watching him, slowly blinking. He finally asked in a sluggish voice, “Zhou Zizheng, let me ask you something.”
“What is it?”
“If I get married, would you dare to stop the wedding?”
“Huh?” Zhou Zizheng was taken aback.
Yu Haozhou wasn’t happy with his reaction. He wasn’t too gentle or too rough as he patted Zhou Zizheng’s face. “What ‘huh’? I was just kidding. You wish I was serious. Stop dreaming.”
Zhou Zizheng: “….”
He expressionlessly helped Yu Haozhou stand up. “You’re really drunk.”
It was only in his dream that Yu Haozhou could feel Zhou Zizheng’s tenderness. Usually, the insults would’ve started flying.
Outside the bar, a low-key luxury car was parked by the side of the road. Seeing Zhou Zizheng come out, the driver immediately got out and called out, “Young Master,” as he prepared to help him get Yu Haozhou into the back seat.
Zhou Zizheng had one arm around Yu Haozhou’s waist and the other holding his arm draped over his neck, a posture so intimate it didn’t look like they were sworn enemies. “No need. Just open the car door.”
The driver quickly opened the door.
Blown by the cold wind outside, Yu Haozhou sobered up a little. As he was about to reach the car and be put inside, he suddenly planted a foot on the car door, refusing to get in.
“No, I don’t want to go home.”
Zhou Zizheng tried to grab his leg. “Don’t act like a drunkard.”
Yu Haozhou struggled like an eel, kicking Zhou Zizheng’s waist once, which sent his upper body directly into the car. “Mind your own business.” Then, he stumbled off in a random direction.
There was a distinct shoe print on Zhou Zizheng’s black suit trousers.
The driver turned his head away, unable to watch.
Zhou Zizheng ground his teeth, muttering under his breath, “His temper is so big even when he’s drunk!”
After cursing, he took long strides, scooped Yu Haozhou up, and put him in the car. Yu Haozhou pulled his hair, refusing to get in. “Zhou Zizheng, you bastard! I’m not going with you!”
Zhou Zizheng gritted his teeth. “I’m taking you home!”
Yu Haozhou yelled, “Stop telling me what to do!”
The driver stood by awkwardly, not daring to move.
After a few minutes of struggling, Zhou Zizheng gave in first. He pressed Yu Haozhou against the car door, with his right knee propped between Yu Haozhou’s legs to prevent him from slipping down. He gripped his chin, making him look at him. “What do you want?”
They were very close.
Yu Haozhou could almost hear his heart beating.
He didn’t know what was wrong with him; his heart felt stifled and uncomfortable, a feeling that persisted even in his drunken state. It was like a fire was trapped inside him, desperately needing to be released.
From an angle Zhou Zizheng couldn’t see, a tear slipped down the corner of Yu Haozhou’s right eye.
The next second, as if he had made a decision, Yu Haozhou grabbed Zhou Zizheng’s collar and dragged him across the road without a chance for refusal. “Take me to a hotel.”
—
Yu Haozhou kicked the hotel room door open.
He casually tossed the key card aside, impatiently pushed Zhou Zizheng to the entryway, and, clinging to his shoulders, hesitated for only a second before kissing him. But Zhou Zizheng turned his head away.
Zhou Zizheng’s right knee was bent and wedged between Yu Haozhou’s legs, and his elbow rested on the entryway counter behind him. He stood in a relaxed posture, using the faint light from the window to observe the emotion on Yu Haozhou’s face. “What is this? Are you playing games with me?”
Zhou Zizheng asked, “Who are you confusing me with?”
Yu Haozhou fell silent. He didn’t know what to say, and he couldn’t say anything; otherwise, Zhou Zizheng would immediately throw him out. He just wanted to go crazy for one night, to make it their final goodbye.
Yu Haozhou lowered his head and quietly unbuckled Zhou Zizheng’s belt. Zhou Zizheng exclaimed in surprise and quickly protected himself with both hands. “Yu Haozhou, you’re actually serious!”
Zhou Zizheng was strong, especially against a drunk person. He used one hand to restrain Yu Haozhou’s two hands, which were trying to cause mischief, and continued to ask, “Are you being a drunkard, or are you coming up with a new way to torment me?”
Yu Haozhou looked up at him with cold eyes and uttered two words. “Let go.”
“I can let go, but you have to…” He saw Yu Haozhou’s sudden tears, and his throat tightened. He loosened his grip, freed one hand, and tried to insert the key card into the counter slot.
There was a crisp slapping sound. A sting of pain flashed across his face.
Zhou Zizheng stared at the person in front of him in disbelief, not reacting at all to the series of actions. Before he could even curse, he was pushed and fell onto a high stool nearby, where Yu Haozhou forcefully kissed his lips.
“…”
Zhou Zizheng could tell Yu Haozhou had no skill at kissing; he was just unceremoniously licking his lips. Zhou Zizheng held the back of his neck and slightly separated them.
Yu Haozhou lowered his head, breathing heavily.
Zhou Zizheng continued to ask, “What’s wrong with you tonight? Did someone hurt you?”
Yu Haozhou was annoyed. “Are you going to do it or not? Why are you asking so many questions?”
He kept asking and asking. It was so irritating. How was he supposed to say this was a goodbye hookup with his sworn enemy?
“Are you serious? No regrets?”
Yu Haozhou didn’t notice the change in Zhou Zizheng’s eyes. When he saw his lips, which had been rubbed wet and red, his gaze became extremely predatory.
“Are you even a man—”
The last word was swallowed. Compared to Yu Haozhou’s inexperience, Zhou Zizheng’s technique was obviously much more refined. He used one hand to grip the back of Yu Haozhou’s neck and the other to pinch his chin. With a little force, Yu Haozhou’s lips were forced apart. A silver thread of saliva was brought out by his unconsciously extended tongue, but in the next instant, Zhou Zizheng pushed his own tongue inside.
His tongue stirred freely in Yu Haozhou’s mouth. Yu Haozhou was not to be outdone and responded fiercely. They held each other tightly, their bodies pressed together. At that moment, they had only each other.
The kiss ended. Yu Haozhou’s legs were weak, and he leaned against Zhou Zizheng’s raised thigh.
Zhou Zizheng fondly stroked his chin, resting his hand on his shoulder, a smile on his lips: “Baby, you won’t deny it after tonight, right?”
It was the first time Yu Haozhou had ever heard him call him “baby,” and he didn’t feel humiliated. Instead, he felt a thrilling tingle, which made him feel like a pervert.
“Why are you asking so many questions?” Yu Haozhou impatiently cut off his ten million questions. “Get on the bed. Go lie down.”
Zhou Zizheng laughed in annoyance, his cheeks puffed out. “Alright, baby.”
He had originally planned to save their first time for their wedding night, but since his baby was so impatient, he would satisfy him tonight.
He felt a little excited just thinking about it.
Zhou Zizheng lifted his hand, cupped the back of his head, and began another round of invasion. As they moved towards the bedroom, they impatiently stripped off their clothes. Garments were scattered all over the floor, and they both fell onto the bed.
Taking a deep breath, Yu Haozhou sat up and was about to straddle Zhou Zizheng’s waist, but he was pushed down. Yu Haozhou’s eyes widened. “Are you confused about your own role? Is this your spot? Get down!”
Zhou Zizheng took out a small bottle of something slippery, unscrewed the cap, and squeezed a little into his hand. He squeezed out too much, and two drops fell onto Yu Haozhou’s taut abs. Yu Haozhou’s scalp tingled. “Wait, I think we need to discu—”
Zhou Zizheng flipped him over.
Yu Haozhou trembled all over, clutching the pillow tightly, and squeezed a few words out from between his teeth. “Zhou Zizheng, you bastard, I hate you.”
Zhou Zizheng leaned down and chuckled into his ear. “Baby, I can make you feel even better.”
“…”
—
What woke Yu Haozhou up was the soreness in his body. He had no time to admire the morning light outside the window. As he sat up with a throbbing headache, the blanket slid down from his chest, revealing various marks on his body.
“Damn, is Zhou Zizheng a dog?”
“Gosh, my head hurts so much.”
The memories from last night came flooding back. He clearly remembered everything he had done and didn’t feel a single regret. The only miscalculation was… they had ‘flipped roles,’ and he ended up as the ‘bottom.’ He was unaccepting and couldn’t swallow his pride.
Zhou Zizheng’s hand was still stroking his leg. Yu Haozhou gritted his teeth and pushed it away. He got out of bed, almost cursing out loud. His legs were so weak he was trembling as he walked. That damn man had insane stamina. He didn’t know what time they had finished last night.
Thinking of this, Yu Haozhou wanted to take the pillow and smother him.
He picked up his scattered clothes and put them on.
After a quick splash of water on his face in the bathroom, he was ready to leave. Then, he imagined the scene when Zhou Zizheng woke up and would inevitably ask what happened last night.
Yu Haozhou turned back, transferred one cent to him on WeChat, and added a note: ‘Tip for you, the service was terrible. No next time.’
One cent seemed a little too cheap. After thinking it over, he transferred 250 yuan (35 USD) instead. Then, he picked up Zhou Zizheng’s phone, which had no password. He swiped, and it unlocked.
The first thing he saw was a pinned contact, with the note ‘Wife-Baby.’
“…”
“No wonder he was so experienced last night. He already had someone! Holy crap, how did he keep it a secret? Did I become ‘the other man’?”
Yu Haozhou was not feeling calm at all. For one, he felt like he had inadvertently ruined someone’s relationship. For another, Zhou Zizheng was dating? When did that happen? There was no news at all.
He couldn’t tell if he was more angry or sad.
Anyway, it was over between them. Yu Haozhou just wanted him to accept the 250 yuan and then block him. But the damn phone seemed to be against him; he couldn’t find the transfer record. It didn’t say it was blocked, so why couldn’t he find it? What did he change his note to?
After a while… Yu Haozhou stared at the pinned contact and fell into deep thought.
The profile picture… it looked just like his. And the time of the most recent message seemed to match the time he had just sent it.
A possibility flashed through his mind, but he felt it was highly unlikely. Maybe Zhou Zizheng was deliberately messing with him.
He circled his finger and tapped on it. It was indeed himself. Yu Haozhou’s face turned red. He accepted the money that he transferred and then picked up his own phone, blocked all of Zhou Zizheng’s contact information, and rushed out the door.
He must have been set up by Zhou Zizheng.
It had to be.
