DCISBS chapter 6

Scorching Hot

“Hurts a lot?” Xie Quan’s smile didn’t falter, his fingertips rubbing gently along Lu Nanyang’s lean waist.

Medical students must really take care of their hands. Even Xie Quan’s nails were neatly trimmed. His touch danced lightly over Lu Nanyang’s sensitive skin, sending a dangerous heat surging in his lower abdomen and making his scalp tingle.

Then, the next second, Xie Quan pressed somewhere else, and Lu Nanyang’s arm veins popped as cold sweat broke out on his forehead.

“Doesn’t hurt,” Lu Nanyang forced a grin, pulling at both corners of his mouth.

Xie Quan returned an equally gentle, fake smile.

Wen Fei, watching anxiously from the side, asked, “So? Is it really a fracture?”

“Don’t worry, it’s not.” Xie Quan finally withdrew his hand and smiled at Wen Fei. “No bones broken. Just needs a few days of rest. I happen to have some trauma ointment. I’ll write you a prescription—go pay at the first floor.”

“Okay okay! Thank god—thank you, doctor!” Wen Fei took the prescription like it was an imperial edict and joyfully skipped downstairs.

Idiot. Traitor.
Lu Nanyang cursed him in his heart.

Before leaving, Wen Fei even helpfully closed the office door—leaving only Lu Nanyang and Xie Quan in the room.

Though the room was spacious, it now felt suffocating.

Xie Quan, on the other hand, looked completely calm. He walked over to a cabinet, skillfully taking out cotton balls, forceps, and a bottle of medicated oil. As he unwrapped them, his eyelids lowered slightly. Lu Nanyang stared at him and noticed—his eyelashes were long enough to brush against his glasses.

“What happened?” Xie Quan asked casually as he worked. “This doesn’t look like my handiwork from last time.”

“What does it have to do with you?” Lu Nanyang said coldly.

“I’m a doctor. It’s my duty,” Xie Quan replied coolly. “I don’t abandon my duties just because a patient is uncooperative.”

“Not even graduated yet and already calling yourself a doctor?” Lu Nanyang mocked.

Xie Quan paused for a second, then looked up calmly. “You came in here injured and seeking treatment. Outside this office, you can call me whatever you want. But in here, I am your doctor.”

There wasn’t a hint of emotion in his voice, just cold professionalism, which left Lu Nanyang speechless—like he was the petty one.

“A sophomore got into it with Wen Fei,” Lu Nanyang finally said. “I exchanged a few words with him and got kicked.”

“I see,” Xie Quan lifted an eyebrow ever so slightly. “Saving the damsel in distress, huh?”

Lu Nanyang gave a faint chuckle. “Let’s not flatter Wen Fei too much.”

“I’m talking about you,” Xie Quan said with a smile in his eyes.

Lu Nanyang’s expression stiffened for a moment, his Adam’s apple bobbing slightly.

He was the damsel.

Then who was the hero?

But Xie Quan didn’t continue the topic. He unscrewed the medicinal oil and placed it on the table, then nodded toward the medical bed opposite. “Lie down on your stomach.”

Lu Nanyang didn’t move.

Xie Quan wasn’t in a rush either. He took a cotton ball soaked in the medicine out of the bottle. “Or we can just stand here staring at each other until your roommate comes back and you can explain why you haven’t even applied the medicine after all this time.”

Lu Nanyang: “…”

The two of them were locked in a brief stalemate. Eventually, Lu Nanyang gave in, gritting his teeth and lying down on the bed.

Xie Quan might be a scumbag, but Wen Fei was his good friend. He didn’t want to stir up more trouble and make Wen Fei think he had a problem with his “dream guy”.

Lu Nanyang was wearing a pair of fitted polyester pants that day. In that position, the round shape of his butt was tightly outlined by the fabric, and the muscles along his back were faintly visible beneath his shirt.

Out of Lu Nanyang’s line of sight, Xie Quan lightly licked his dry lips.

He had an almost obsessive fondness for perfect things—and the body before him definitely qualified.

A cool sensation first touched Lu Nanyang’s lower back, then the cotton ball glided over his skin, spreading the medicinal oil. Before long, the coolness turned into a fiery heat.

Lu Nanyang let out a breath. It wasn’t comfortable, but at least it felt like a normal procedure.

But then, he felt two hot palms press against his skin, smoothing the oil along the direction of the muscle fibers.

Lu Nanyang’s scalp nearly exploded on the spot.

He could clearly feel the shape of Xie Quan’s fingers, the heat in his palms growing scorching as it spread the slippery oil. With each motion, faint squelching sounds rose between them.

Fragments of memories flashed through Lu Nanyang’s mind like scenes from a movie.

That night, Xie Quan had also loomed over him like this, pinning his thighs with his knees, wrenching his arms behind his back, and whispering in his ear—

That clean, pleasant voice like the devil’s murmur: “Look how beautiful. You’re much more suited to this, aren’t you?”

In that instant, Lu Nanyang couldn’t even feel pain anymore. Rage and shame surged into his head with a loud buzz. He suddenly sat up and lifted his knee toward Xie Quan—

Just as he was about to strike, Wen Fei’s voice came from the hallway outside.

“Dr. Xie! Dr. Xie! I got the meds!”

Lu Nanyang’s movement froze mid-air.

The moment Wen Fei walked in, he saw this scene: Xie Quan leaning over the bed, while Lu Nanyang lay there with knees bent and legs slightly spread.

Both of them turned their heads to look at him in unison. The atmosphere in the room instantly solidified.

Wen Fei looked between the two of them in confusion. “What… what are you guys doing?”

Lu Nanyang snapped out of it like waking from a dream. He quickly jumped down from the bed, but the sudden motion tugged at his injury, making him wince in pain. “Nothing. We’ve got the medicine, let’s go.”

He didn’t want to spend another second in that room.

Xie Quan stepped aside to let Lu Nanyang pass, his earlier emotions hidden, though the corners of his eyes still carried a faint smile. “Apply the medicine once a day when you get home. Best to rub it in with your palm like I did. Get plenty of rest. The less you move, the faster you’ll heal.”

Lu Nanyang didn’t respond—didn’t even spare him a glance this time.

Wen Fei came over to help Lu Nanyang. “You heard that, right, Lu-ge? You need to rest properly these next few days. Want me to ask for leave on your behalf tomorrow?”

“No need. I still have to attend class,” Lu Nanyang said. “Just help me bring food, that’s all.”

“Okay,” Wen Fei said. “Then I’ll help you apply the medicine every day—”

Lu Nanyang suddenly pictured Wen Fei’s face replacing Xie Quan’s in that scene just now and shuddered. He quickly said, “No need, no need, I can handle it myself.”

“Oh.” Wen Fei responded blankly, then suddenly remembered something. “Hey, do you think you’ll still be able to go to Da Ze’s birthday next week?”

“I only got kicked, I’m not crippled,” Lu Nanyang sighed. “Besides, I should be fully recovered by then.”

“But the party’s at Ma-ge’s bar, right?” Wen Fei said worriedly. “It’ll be crowded and chaotic, with dancing and everything…”

Lu Nanyang appreciated Wen Fei’s concern, but he really didn’t want to linger in Xie Quan’s territory—or have him overhear any more of this.

“Seriously, I’m fine. Don’t overthink it.” Lu Nanyang patted Wen Fei’s arm and steered him toward the door. “Let’s talk outside.”

“Hey, what’s the rush? Da Ze is even bringing you food—”

Xie Quan took a sip from his cup, and as he looked at their backs, a playful impulse suddenly stirred within him.

He put the cup down and casually said, “You mentioned Ma-ge’s bar—could that be ‘Galaxy’?”

Lu Nanyang froze on the spot.

Xie Quan.

F**k you. If you dare—

Sure enough, Wen Fei’s eyes lit up like a beacon of hope. “Yeah, yeah, the one right behind our school! You know it too, Dr. Xie?”

“Of course,” Xie Quan smiled. “I go there to relax when I’m free. Their cocktails are excellent.”

Wen Fei, don’t—

But before Lu Nanyang could stop him, Wen Fei had already blurted out, “Then why don’t you come to our party next week? We’ve reserved the whole place for the night, and the drinks are all on him!”

He pointed directly at Lu Nanyang.

Lu Nanyang: “…”

“Sure.” Xie Quan gave a sunny, charming smile, his long lashes curving delightfully. “I’d be more than happy to.”
