Fu Wenshan read something from Xie Wanxing’s suspicious silence. He turned around, pulling Xie Wanxing closer, and asked again, squinting, “Wasn’t it during filming that you started liking me?”
Xie Wanxing looked up at the ceiling, nodding.
“When was it then?” Fu Wenshan asked.
Xie Wanxing felt a bit embarrassed. After all, he had been awakened by someone’s jealousy. He had watched Yao Ren and Fu Wenshan’s videos at home over and over again, almost crying out of frustration.
But Fu Wenshan wanted to know. He scratched Xie Wanxing’s palm, urging, “Come on, tell me.”
Xie Wanxing could only say, “It was when I had gastritis, and you took care of me in the hospital. That’s when I realized I liked you.”
He wasn’t really lying because he did feel a bit moved that day. But just when his heart was pounding, Yao Ren called, freezing his budding infatuation.
Thinking of this, Xie Wanxing pursed his lips. “But just as I started liking you, you were caught up in rumors with your ex-teammate, and it pissed me off.”
Fu Wenshan’s lips curled up, knowing that Xie Wanxing had been jealous too, even though he didn’t say it out loud. He felt secretly pleased.
He pinched Xie Wanxing’s earlobe, which was soft and squishy.
“But I never liked him. Unlike you, who almost swoons whenever someone saves you,” Fu Wenshan said. He paused and lowered his voice, “For all these years, I’ve only liked you.”
He had grown up receiving love letters in school, and with his handsome face, others thought he must have a dozen girlfriends. But he felt like a whale wandering in the depths of the sea, slowly swimming in the darkness.
Many people wanted to get close to him, but he always felt something was off, like a song missing a few beats.
But now, he had found it.
Xie Wanxing couldn’t help but smile. If he said he wasn’t jealous of Fu Wenshan’s past, that would be a lie. He wanted to possess every strand of Fu Wenshan’s hair and wouldn’t allow anyone to even glance at him.
But now that Fu Wenshan said it, he hadn’t liked anyone else, only him. All the past incidents were just clouds, and he was the one who truly shared mutual affection with Fu Wenshan.
That was enough.
The two of them spent the night at Wen Gui Garden and didn’t return until the next morning after having brunch by the sea.
During the meal, Fu Wenshan couldn’t resist grabbing Xie Wanxing’s hand and taking a photo of their intertwined fingers, then sending it to his close friends group.
His friends quickly chimed in, knowing that the hand must belong to Xie Wanxing, but teasingly commented, “Whose hand are you holding there? You’re in big trouble, Fu ge. While Xie Wanxing is away filming, you’re cheating on him.”
Fu Wenshan promptly retorted, “Get lost.”
But a moment later, he added, “But I understand your envy and jealousy. After all, none of you have anyone. But I’m different. Since yesterday, I’m a taken man. This is my boyfriend’s hand.”
His friends: “…Damn, I want to punch someone through the screen.”
Xie Wanxing, sitting across from him, sipped his coffee and watched Fu Wenshan chatting. He asked curiously, “Who are you chatting with? Is Jiang Han looking for you?”
Fu Wenshan, behaving like a peacock in the group, was chatting actively, but his facial expressions were well-controlled, showing no sign of anything.
He also took a sip of coffee. “No, I’m chatting with my childhood friends. I’ve told you about them, right? I have four childhood friends who have always supported me, even when I entered the entertainment industry.”
Xie Wanxing remembered. When he was with Fu Wenshan, he often saw them chatting together.
Fu Wenshan continued, “They all know that I like you. Now that I’ve finally won you over, I naturally want to tell them.”
Upon hearing this, Xie Wanxing felt a little embarrassed. Although it was just informing his friends, he subtly felt like he was meeting the in-laws.
Fu Wenshan deliberately opened his phone screen and showed Xie Wanxing the chat history. “Look, they all want to meet you.”
Indeed, the group was clamoring for him to bring Xie Wanxing out to meet them.
“When you have some free time, would you like to meet them?” Fu Wenshan asked with a smile, taking the phone back. “Although they may seem a bit out of line, they’re actually nice people.”
Xie Wanxing wasn’t keen on socializing, but the fact that these were Fu Wenshan’s best childhood friends made him nod immediately.
After brunch, they returned to Cuhe Bay. Both of them were new to love and didn’t know what ordinary couples should do.
Xie Wanxing lay on the sofa and played with a puzzle for a while, then coquettishly said he wanted to drink chilled fruit tea, so Fu Wenshan went to make it for him.
But when making the tea, Xie Wanxing also leaned over, wrapping his arms around Fu Wenshan’s waist and resting his head on his shoulder.
“What do normal couples do?” Xie Wanxing asked. “Our profession makes it inconvenient to go out. Should we just stay home and roll in bed every day?”
Fu Wenshan chuckled. He actually didn’t know. He shoved a slice of peach into Xie Wanxing’s mouth and recalled, “If you want to roll in bed every day, I have no objection. But when my brother pursued my sister-in-law, he took her on vacation around the world. When you have some free time, I’ll take you to my island for a vacation. I originally planned to confess to you on my private island, but Yan Wei told me to save it for our honeymoon, which makes sense.”
Xie Wanxing chuckled. He liked the word “honeymoon.”
“You have your own island?” he asked.
Fu Wenshan fed Xie Wanxing some fruit as he replied, “Yes, I got it as a coming-of-age gift when I turned eighteen. It’s not very big, but the scenery is beautiful. You’ll see when we get there.”
Due to Xie Wanxing being overly affectionate, the fruit tea took longer than usual to make. After Fu Wenshan finished making it and put it in the fridge, they sat back down on the sofa together.
At first, the two of them were still well-behaved, just chatting and occasionally glancing at the boring soap operas on TV.
But soon enough, they were cuddling and kissing, unable to stop, rolling together on the sofa and making love.
Xie Wanxing lay on the sofa, embracing Fu Wenshan’s neck, his face flushed red.
He felt that their relationship was a bit too wild. It seemed like it was either on the bed or the sofa, occasionally the floor or window.
But then he thought, it wasn’t entirely his fault. After all, his boyfriend was handsome and great in bed.
If there was anything not quite right, it was that their love life was too strenuous. Other couples had sweet and sticky love, while they only had sex.
Xie Wanxing even started worrying that he was getting kidney deficiency at such a young age.
He didn’t even get to drink the fruit tea that day. After their activities, Fu Wenshan didn’t let him have cold drinks and made him a hot drink instead.
Xie Wanxing’s eyes were full of resentment as he drank.
But perhaps heaven heard Xie Wanxing’s inner cry and didn’t want him to get kidney deficiency at such a young age.
Just a few days into their extravagant life after they started dating, Fu Wenshan was called away by his brother.
When Fu Wenshan’s elder brother called, Xie Wanxing was snuggled up in Fu Wenshan’s arms, scrolling through his phone. He only heard Fu Wenshan say on the phone, “What date? Hmm, I also have to go?”
Xie Wanxing couldn’t help but raise his head and saw Fu Wenshan’s furrowed brows, looking somewhat reluctant. But he had no choice. “Uncle is not that old. Why is he making a will so early? Alright, I understand. I’ll be there.”
After Fu Wenshan hung up the phone, he glanced at Xie Wanxing with reluctance in his eyes but still said, “My brother called. He wants me to go abroad with him for a few days.”
Xie Wanxing immediately sat up. “Why?”
Fu Wenshan shrugged helplessly. “I have an uncle who lives abroad most of the time. He doesn’t have any children, so we’re the closest family to him. I don’t know what’s wrong with him this year. He suddenly wants to make a will and has summoned us younger relatives.”
Xie Wanxing didn’t say anything, but the disappointment on his face was evident.
His boyfriend was leaving for abroad before they could even warm up the relationship. Anyone would be unhappy about it.
But after all, it was Fu Wenshan’s uncle, and in their family, making a will involved many people. Xie Wanxing couldn’t stop Fu Wenshan from going.
He could only ask, “How many days will you be gone?”
Fu Wenshan thought for a moment. “It wasn’t mentioned, but probably three or four days.”
Xie Wanxing felt even more frustrated because his birthday was in four days.
This was his first birthday after being with Fu Wenshan, and he had even planned how to celebrate it, making it romantic and intimate.
He looked at Fu Wenshan hopefully, unsure if he should remind him.
But he didn’t want to be a clingy little sprite, sticking to his boyfriend all the time and stopping him from going here and there just because they were in a relationship.
So, he gracefully nodded and said, “Okay, then hurry back.”
