DFYMHGFS Chapter 79

“I want to take you to the mountains to see the stars.”

79 – “I want to take you to the mountains to see the stars.”

The game room fell silent for a moment before Zhou Bin, the more coarse one, finally spoke up in confusion.

“You two aren’t dating, yet you’re all over each other like glue all day long?”

The curly-haired boy protested loudly.

“So what if we’re all over each other? It just means we get along great, that’s why we’re always hanging out together! Who says you can only be together every day if you’re dating?”

“Besides, Shen Ge just confessed. I haven’t agreed to his pursuit yet!”

Zhou Bin was stunned by the teenager’s shameless tone.

Listen to this—does this even make sense? ‘We’re close, we’re always together, and I’m being pursued, but we’re not dating!

He glanced at Chen Fang, then at An Rong. Isn’t your family going to rein in this little fool?

An Rong: …

An Rong numbly turned his head away, pretending not to see.

Don’t be fooled by how soft this kid usually is— on certain matters, he’s as stubborn as a mule, completely beyond anyone’s control.

Take this whole Lu Tianshen situation, for instance. When the engagement was proposed, he agreed by himself. Now that he’s being pursued, he’ll decide whether to date or not entirely on his own.

By then, Chen Fang and Liu Hong had also snapped back to reality. Neither of them was particularly sensitive types. While they were somewhat surprised by Lu Tianshen ‘s pursuit of An Xing, since the An family themselves didn’t object, they had nothing to say.

Though the two clearly weren’t dating, the inexplicably ambiguous, sticky atmosphere between them left the straight guys utterly baffled…

With nothing else to say, An Xing shifted his gaze to them, his almond-shaped eyes looking over hopefully, as if expecting something.

Chen Fang thought for a moment and tentatively asked, “Um… is he really good to you?”

Liu Hong was even more baffled by the teenager’s gaze. He could only think hard about his interactions with An Rong and gave a dumb thumbs-up.

“Mr. Lu really is a good person. No wonder you want to be such good brothers with him, little bro! Your taste is spot-on!”

An Xing: …

Holy crap, that’s not the kind of praise he wanted to hear!

The teenager shot a displeased look at the clueless men, huffed, then turned expectantly towards An Rong.

The others might not get it, but his brother should understand what he wanted to hear, right?

The boy calmly turned his head and picked up the game console.

“It’s getting late. Let’s play a few more rounds before bed. Come on, let’s start.”

Hah, that smug look said it all—the little fool wanted them to be jealous. This dumb little brother was practically shoving himself into the pit, and now he wanted to shove dog food at them too… Dream on.

Not sure how to handle the youngster, the three boys immediately responded, grabbing their controllers.

An Xing stormed out of the game room and returned to his bedroom. Just as he was about to change into his pajamas and wash up, his gaze fell on his forehead while standing before the mirror.

Out of nowhere, An Xing recalled the kiss the man had left behind earlier—warm and gentle.

The boy in the mirror absentmindedly touched his forehead. He tried to hold back, but couldn’t. A silly grin spread across his fair, pretty round face.

Lost in some memories, he continued brushing his teeth with a blissful smile.

Ever since winning first prize in the competition, An Xing has become a sensation.

Before that, the buzz around An Xing mainly revolved around the controversy over the An family’s real and fake young masters.

At the time, while some mentioned that An Xing was a designer who had joined the design department at An Ning Jewelry, the onlookers didn’t take it seriously.

Most assumed he gained entry to the design department because he was raised by the An family for twenty years. When the real heir returned, An Xing tactfully stepped aside, and was then rewarded with a position in the design department.

However, this jewelry design competition was a national event judged by industry experts—a place where the An family held no say. Therefore, An Xing’s award win proved he possessed genuine talent.

Not to mention the real-time sales data displayed on the official website, where An Xing’s designs were outselling all others by a wide margin.

So when An Ning Jewelry reposted the video from An Xing’s small account on their official microblog, a flood of curious onlookers poured in.

Coincidentally, he had just posted a handmade video showing the process of crafting those two bracelets. The onlookers eagerly flooded the comments with messages.

“Young Master’s hands are so beautiful. Truly the hands of an artisan.”

“These bracelets are gorgeous! Would they be sold later?”

“The designs are simple, but the jade is incredibly rare—looks expensive. And the creator put so much effort in, hand-polishing every bead.”

“That little star wood carving is too cute!”

“Am I the only one wondering who the second bracelet was for?”

Every bystander is a reincarnated Sherlock Holmes. Soon, one of An Xing’s classmates noticed: the young man wore one bracelet to school, while President Lu, who often picked him up, wore the other.

Then, some curious onlookers stumbled upon their school forum. Though they couldn’t post, lurking was still possible.

The forum itself wasn’t special, but a thread titled “Protecting Our Cutest Star Junior” had already piled up over a thousand replies. The first post featured a hand-drawn, adorable dumpling-style illustration that instantly captivated the onlookers.

Then everyone learned the young master had a domineering CEO partner, and the two wore matching couple bracelets.

“One wore a star charm, the other a ‘Lu Lu Tong’ charm—perfectly matching each other’s name and surname. Take a moment to appreciate that.”

“If this isn’t love…”

“Not just couple bracelets, but custom-made ones.”

“Not just custom-made, but haute couture—after all, it’s the romance of the wealthy.”

“……”

By the time An Xing remembered this post from the messages backstage, the comment stream was already flooded with screams of “I’m shipping this so hard!”

An Xing switched back to the school forum, reading the little skits and fanfics, and found himself shipping it too.

“Wow, Chen Ge, look! This one’s set in ancient times—you’re the dignified young master from a distinguished family, and I’m the young swordsman roaming the martial world… Why add ‘young’?”

Just like how everyone secretly calls you ‘little dumpling’—it’s a term of endearment.

Watching the boy’s genuinely puzzled expression, the man thought silently.

It was the weekend, and An Xing and Lu Tianchen were seated inside a Japanese restaurant. All the ingredients here were imported, air-freighted fresh from the coast that very day.

Sitting across from each other, they didn’t bother with formalities. An Xing ate while reading Lu Tianchen the fanfiction’s plot points aloud, passionately reciting any amusing passages.

Lu Tianchen sat at the table, already numb.

Over the course of this meal, he’d heard several different storylines, each one leaving the Boss utterly baffled.

For instance, in a Western fantasy setting, he’s the Demon King, and An Xing is the young prince he kidnapped. In a futuristic interstellar backdrop, he’s the Star Marshal, while An Xing is a mermaid singer renowned across the cosmos. In an alternate modern world, he’s a demon exorcist, and An Xing is a clumsy cat demon who hasn’t mastered shape-shifting yet.

There was also this bizarre ABO concept. The boy blushed after reading just a couple lines before abruptly changing the subject.

Lu Tianchen decided he could look up this so-called ABO concept when he got home.

The man, who had been awkwardly fidgeting from the start, now remained remarkably composed. He even offered a brief critique of the author’s writing style after the boy passionately finished reading a passage.

An Xing devoured the tale of a noble young master abandoning his family to elope with a young swordsman, venturing together into the martial world. Though he found the noble son’s lack of filial piety rather out of character, it made for entertaining reading. He lifted his head, ready to share the story with Lu Tianchen, only to meet the man’s gaze.

While he’d been happily scrolling through posts, Lu Tianchen had been watching him the whole time.

An Xing had seen this gaze countless times before, familiar with it yet never delving into its meaning.

It wasn’t until after Lu Tianchen’s confession that he understood the depth behind those eyes whenever they met again.

Recalling the kiss from two days prior, the youth rolled his eyes and commanded imperiously.

“I want that oyster. Feed it to me, Chen Ge!”

What else could Lu Tianchen do? He naturally indulged the little twerp, feeding him. He picked up an oyster, separated the meat, and held it to the teenager’s lips.

An Xing opened his mouth and ate it, then leaned forward, rubbing his cheek against the man’s finger.

“Thanks, Chen Ge! You’re the best!”

The youngster cooed sweetly, clinging to him.

“…You’re welcome.”

Lu Tianchen withdrew his hand without showing emotion, his fingertips still lingering with the soft sensation of the boy’s cheek. He watched the youth eating with relish and sighed inwardly.

Here we go again. The little fool’s infinite cuddle attack was back.

Ever since he confessed, this little fool showed none of the bashfulness he’d imagined.

They carried on as before. In fact, even after his confession, the little fool still snuggled up affectionately, letting him hold hands, and feed him.

To say it was a rejection… well, the little fool had explicitly said he’d consider it. To say it was acceptance… it didn’t seem that straightforward either.

If he didn’t know An Xing didn’t have the brains to be a player juggling multiple flings… Lu Tianchen would almost suspect this little thing was up to something. Calm down.

The little fool was not enlightened; he was just being clingy.

The man picked up a slice of salmon sashimi, popped it into his mouth without even dipping it in wasabi, and ate it without tasting a thing.

An Xing watched him stealthily for a moment, thoroughly satisfied.

Yay! His Chen Ge’s ears were flushed red—clearly embarrassed after being rubbed against him. He must be head over heels for him!

He picked up a piece of foie gras sushi and popped it into his mouth, closing his eyes in contentment.

It meant that every single one of his actions could stir the man’s heart. And this man, the pride of heaven, the most outstanding among his peers, never gave anyone else a second glance. All his energy, every single moment of his gaze, was fixed on him…

How could An Xing not be moved?

Honestly, he knew he’d been overly clingy with Lu Tianchen in the past, especially given their ambiguous betrothal. Back then, An Xing had simply believed that if he had to marry anyone, it would only be Lu Tianchen.

They were the closest of friends, knowing each other inside out, never harming each other or their families.

But if it wasn’t a marriage of convenience, but actual romance, then he had to think it through carefully before making a decision. After all, if a marriage of convenience turned sour, they could still be brothers after divorce. If a romantic relationship ended, they couldn’t even remain friends.

Who said he was stupid? He was perfectly clear-headed!

The young man muttered to himself.

“By the way, Christmas is next week. Do you have plans?”

Hearing the man’s question, An Xing lifted his head. Before their eyes met, the corners of his mouth had already turned up in a slight smile.

“What’s up? You wanna ask me out~”

The teenager’s voice trailed off with a hint of cockiness. Lu Tianchen felt a bit helpless, but he still admitted it readily.

“I want to take you to the mountains to see the stars.”
