DL Chapter13

At Night

“It’s so annoying, there are so many people…” Bai Zhen complained while holding Fu Baiqi’s arm and half leaning on him.

Fu Baiqi glanced at him, his eyes revealing undisguised annoyance. Bai Zhen spoke softly, not noticing the expression of the person next to him. When he raised his head, Fu Baiqi had already looked away.

“Why don’t you speak?”

The Alpha ignored him.

Bai Zhen felt uncomfortable being ignored by him, and because his foot was still hurting, he felt even worse. “Why are you angry?”

Fu Baiqi clenched his teeth and looked at Bai Zhen. He had recently become more and more impatient with this grump Omega. He hadn’t noticed it when he was a student. He was just immersed in the envious eyes of others and thought he had found an Omega that matched him. Now that they’ve spent so much time together, he just finds him full of issues—talks too much, meddles in everything, always brimming with ideas, but sorely lacking in common sense. Apart from being somewhat useful when screwing him in bed, it’s completely useless otherwise and will only cause trouble.

“I’m not angry.”

The Omega obviously didn’t believe it. “Is it because of that person just now?” He shifted his eyes and frowned, “Or the one in his arms.”

Fu Baiqi stared at the registration plate in front of him. As much as he thought Bai Zhen was an idiot, he had to admit the guy had a sharp sixth sense. The Omega in Min Zhi’s arms stirred something in him—a faint sense of familiarity, whether it was the silhouette or the scent of pheromones, it all reminded him of his so-called wife. But it was just a passing resemblance. He pulled out his phone, glanced at the message that person had sent him not long ago, and quietly hit delete.

He didn’t think that the person in Min Zhi’s arms was Fang Fengzhi. Let’s not talk about whether the two knew each other or not. Even if they did, how could Min Zhi fall in love with such an ordinary Omega like him?

When driving back, Fang Fengzhi huddled in the back seat without saying a word, and only his profile could be seen in the rearview mirror.

After a long silence, Min Zhi did not speak, but Fang Fengzhi spoke first, “Mr. Min, do you know those two people just now?”

His mood had probably calmed down, and there was no nasal tone in his voice. If his eyes were not still red, no one would know that he had been crying pitifully more than ten minutes ago.

“That alpha is an employee of my company.” The Omega looked a little overwhelmed. He hadn’t realized that he was looking at him, so he pretended to be calm and said, “Oh, I see…”

Min Zhi did not expose him. Looking at his behavior, it meant that his guess was correct. Fu Baiqi and he were not just simple relatives. But since Fang Fengzhi would not say anything, he did not ask anything either.

They returned to the villa together. Min Zhi walked beside him and saw him always taking out his phone and opening the message dialog box, as if waiting for someone to reply. Unfortunately, it was still the same “What are you doing?” he sent an hour ago.

There was no response.

Now he sent another message to the other party. “Are you very busy?”

Looking up, the person’s note was “Baiqi.”

Min Zhi retracted his gaze.

He asked casually, “Have you sent messages to your family?”

Fang Fengzhi was startled by his sudden question and looked at him in confusion, “…En”

“Your husband?”

Fang Fengzhi didn’t look at him. After a while, he slowly nodded.

He got the answer he wanted easily.

Min Zhi wasn’t surprised, but a wave of disappointment washed over him because of Fu Baiqi. Once again, he found himself feeling a quiet pity for the fragile Omega.

Fang Fengzhi put the medicine on the cabinet in the entrance hall and was bending over to change his shoes when he heard the Alpha behind him speak, “I will live here from now on.”

Fang Fengzhi turned to look at him.

“The doctor said that before the temporary mark disappears, my pheromones can have a soothing effect on you.”

“If anything happens, I can help you in time.”

Fang Fengzhi was a little worried. It was too dangerous to live under the same roof with a strange alpha. The estrus period was an uncertain factor. He had no idea under what circumstances he would go into estrus, and he didn’t know whether the alpha would be affected and lose his mind or not.

“I will use inhibitors.” The Alpha looked at Fang Fengzhi and said, “Besides, I am not interested in Omegas.”

Fang Fengzhi was stunned for a second after hearing his words.

What does not interested mean? Is he gay?

It was indeed a logical explanation. Whether it was the sudden arousal on the street last time or the events that occurred at noon, Min Zhi never lost his composure. It was as if his pheromones had absolutely no effect on him.

It turned out that it was because he didn’t like Omegas.

Fang Fengzhi felt relieved.

Min Zhi just moved back to the villa. He had always lived in the villa before, but because Fang Fengzhi moved in, he moved to an apartment in the city. He did not tell Fang Fengzhi that he was an enigma. It made no difference whether he knew or not. Knowing too much would only increase his panic.

Living under the same roof with the Alpha, Fang Fengzhi initially thought it would be awkward—especially since the man was his husband’s boss. Even though Min Zhi likely didn’t know the truth, Fang Fengzhi couldn’t shake the unease. He constantly worried that Min Zhi might inadvertently slip up and expose what had happened between them.

But the next few days completely dispelled his doubts. Min Zhi was too busy and was in the company almost every moment. He didn’t look like the kind of person who would talk about his private life with others, and the two of them rarely met. Even when they occasionally met at dinner, Min Zhi would only politely ask about his health and would not ask any other questions.

He showed just enough concern to avoid making Fang Fengzhi feel uneasy.

This made Fang Fengzhi feel relieved, but at the same time he didn’t know how to face Min Zhi.

Min Zhi truly was a good person—he had thought so ever since the day Min Zhi took him to the hospital. Later on, Min Zhi continued to help him in many ways. Even though it was because Min Zhi had accidentally marked him, and it’s only right for him to take responsible. But in a sense, it was the influence of the pheromones of Alpha and Omega, which was innate and uncontrollable.

Last time when he was in heat, he even generously gave him pheromones to help him relieve himself, and then he was considerate enough to brush it off and never mention it again. Thinking of this, Fang Fengzhi felt a little ashamed again. He saw his lewd and ugly appearance when he was in heat. He might have felt disgusted with him in his heart but couldn’t say it. And Min Zhi’s sexual orientation is not Omega either…

This made Fang Fengzhi feel as if he had forced Min Zhi into what happened last time. Every time he saw Min Zhi’s face, an unexplainable sense of guilt would rise within him.

Min Zhi came back very late. There was a lot going on in the company recently, and he couldn’t get away.

When he got home, he first glanced towards the guest room. Fang Fengzhi’s door was closed. He casually hung his coat on the hanger and asked the auntie who had not yet gone to bed, “How is he today? Is everything alright?”

“He’s fine, he’s fine. He’s in good spirits and can eat just fine.”

After hearing this, Min Zhi nodded and went upstairs.

Just as he was about to enter the room, he smelled a faint pheromone coming from Fang Fengzhi’s room. Min Zhi paused, turned around, and walked to the door of the guest room. He knocked on the door and asked, “Are you asleep?”

Just like last time, no response.

The pheromones in the air were subtle, not overwhelming, suggesting it wasn’t an estrus situation. Min Zhi lingered at the door for a moment, the calming scent of chamomile easing his fatigue from the day. His body warmed slightly. He inhaled deeply, his nose twitching, before he turned and headed back to the bedroom.

Maybe it was because his pheromones were leaking out uncontrollably after he fell asleep.

When taking a bath, Min Zhi lowered the water temperature by a few degrees compared to usual.

After coming out, he still felt hot, as if there was a flame inside his body, burning more and more vigorously. Min Zhi took a sip of water, but the burning sensation was still severe, and it didn’t help at all.

He shouldn’t have gone outside Fang Fengzhi’s door.

He stood up with the empty cup of water in his hand. He urgently needed to drink some ice water to calm down the fire in his heart.

As soon as he opened the bedroom door, a wave of heat rushed to his face, only to vanish just as quickly, almost as if it had been an illusion. The scent of the Omega’s pheromones grew stronger in the room.

Min Zhi walked over, his brow furrowed and his fists clenched involuntarily. With each step, the intensity of the Omega’s pheromones pressed down on him, making his teeth grind tighter. Fang Fengzhi’s wet face flashed in his mind, looking vulnerable and pitiful.

The member between his legs was so excited that it was sticking straight up against his pants.

Min Zhi turned around and went back to the bedroom.
