“What is this?”
Min Zhi handed the item to Fang Fengzhi. “Milk, it’s still a bit hot.”
He glanced at Fang Fengzhi’s damp pant legs. “Get in the car first.”
Min Zhi’s umbrella tilted mostly toward Fang Fengzhi’s side. Fang Fengzhi instinctively closed his own and moved closer, pressing tightly against Min Zhi. The man glanced at him, then naturally wrapped an arm around him, gently brushing his hand along Fang Fengzhi’s arm, which had also been dampened by the rain.
As he turned his head, his eyes happened to meet Fu Baiqi’s up ahead. Min Zhi looked at him calmly and gave a slight nod. The man’s face was pale, which made the redness around his eyes stand out even more. His gaze shifted to Fang Fengzhi for just a few seconds before he turned away with a cold expression.
Min Zhi didn’t seem to spare the Alpha a second thought. After getting into the car with Fang Fengzhi, he turned on the heater first, then reached over to help him take off his jacket. “All set?”
Fang Fengzhi pulled his hand out in sync with Min Zhi’s movement, nodding before handing over the small divorce certificate from his bag. Min Zhi glanced at it before tossing Fang Fengzhi’s jacket to the back seat. The Omega continued speaking, “There’s no stuff left with him, so from now on, everything will be… mmm…”
Min Zhi kissed him.
The kiss came suddenly and passionately, with no warning. But in reality, Min Zhi had already been unable to hold back. He had waited for this day for so long that when Fang Fengzhi placed the divorce certificate in front of him, the hidden excitement inside him drove him to want to claim Fang Fengzhi right then and there.
Of course, he wouldn’t do that. He only nipped at the Omega’s lips with his teeth, not even pushing his tongue into his mouth.
But soon, he felt those lips gently parting against his, as if inviting him in, silently giving him permission.
Min Zhi pulled back slightly, creating some distance between them. “You don’t mind?”
Fang Fengzhi blinked. The bodily fluids of an Enigma did make him uncomfortable, but right now, that slight discomfort was nothing.
He was divorced now, the chains that once bound him had been broken. There was no longer anything shameful about his relationship with Min Zhi. They were free to do anything. The Enigma in front of him smiled, but there was something restrained in his eyes.
So, Fang Fengzhi leaned in, his body gently pressing against Min Zhi’s as they held each other. The air was thick with the mingled scent of their pheromones. Fang Fengzhi still felt a sense of rejection, his body instinctively resisting the Enigma’s pheromones, but he didn’t pull away. Instead, he held on tighter. Min Zhi did the same. Even if Fang Fengzhi wanted to regret it in this moment, Min Zhi wouldn’t let go either.
The kiss grew more intense between their lips, the car filled with sticky, intimate sounds. Their teeth sometimes clashed together, and their tongues occasionally grazed painfully, but they didn’t stop, like a mutual, unspoken indulgence and celebration.
At this moment, they could kiss openly, no longer a secret affair, it was no longer needing to hide from anyone.
That was the nature of their relationship.
Fu Baiqi collapsed as soon as he got home.
At first, it wasn’t too serious, just a fever. But then the high fever persisted and wouldn’t subside, and he nearly couldn’t wake up from his bed. Luckily, his mother noticed in time and rushed him to the hospital, or things could have turned out much worse.
The Fu family knew that, in some way, Fu Baiqi’s condition was tied to Fang Fengzhi. So whenever they visited, they were careful not to mention that person. But what they hadn’t expected was that Fang Fengzhi would actually go through with the divorce, leaving behind everything except the act itself. Fu Baiqi’s parents understood the reasons behind, but unwilling to say more. As someone who was somewhat aware of the situation, Fu Yan would get angry and say inappropriate things whenever his parents mentioned his cousin’s ex-wife, his face flushing with frustration. His parents reprimanded him briefly but didn’t bring up that person in front of the children again.
His condition improved a little, and since his family was worried about him, Fu Baiqi decided to stay with his parents for a while.
It was rare for him to go back home. He had already resigned from his position at the company, and with nothing to do at home all day, he felt somewhat aimless. He rarely had this much free time.
The bedroom still had the same childish decorations from his childhood, and nothing had changed. He sat on the chair, bored, and his gaze unintentionally drifted to a familiar notebook on the bookshelf.
His body froze for a moment as he pulled the book out.
It was the same as the one in Fang Fengzhi’s suitcase.
Min Zhi got home a bit earlier today. As he entered, he instinctively glanced toward the living room, but there was no one there.
He changed his shoes and stepped inside, the entire villa was dark, not a single light on. He frowned, a sense of unease stirring inside him.
He walked upstairs and directly opened the guest room door and saw that the bathroom light was on and faint sounds of water were running.
He relaxed a little, then realized he had entered someone else’s room without knocking. He silently reprimanded himself and was about to turn around when Fang Fengzhi’s phone suddenly rang. He had always believed he had no desire to invade others’ privacy, yet he still turned his head to look.
The screen displayed an unfamiliar number.
Min Zhi pulled his gaze away.
Fang Fengzhi finished his shower and heard some noise downstairs. With a towel draped over his head, he walked out.
He saw Min Zhi sitting in his usual spot, and his pace quickened. “How come you’re home so early tonight?” His eyes were curved with a smile.
Min Zhi looked at him. “Came back early to keep you company.” As he spoke, he set the remote aside, pulling Fang Fengzhi into his arms. “You didn’t even dry your hair, be careful not to catch a cold.”
Fang Fengzhi didn’t care at all. Playfully, he shook his head, splashing water onto Min Zhi’s clothes, then smiled as he wiped the water off the man’s face. “Is it cold?”
Min Zhi glanced at him, gently cupping his face to kiss him.
In a sense, they were living together.
But there was one thing that didn’t quite make sense, they hadn’t been physically intimate, at least not in the past half month. The earlier period was understandable, as Fang Fengzhi still carried the marks left by Fu Baiqi, and they couldn’t have too intimate of a relationship. But just a few days ago, the remnants of those marks had completely faded, yet Min Zhi still only seemed willing to kiss him. Any further intimacy was absent.
It wasn’t that Fang Fengzhi was overly eager—it was just that they had both wanted each other in different ways before. This sudden calm between them felt strangely out of place. Sometimes, when he kissed Min Zhi, he couldn’t help but let his hands wander, wanting to take things further. But Min Zhi would usually catch his hand and gently stop him.
Like now.
Min Zhi grabbed Fang Fengzhi’s hand that had slipped under his shirt, biting his cheek lightly. “No touching.” After saying that, he left Fang Fengzhi standing there but soon returned, holding a hairdryer.
Fang Fengzhi awkwardly sat cross-legged on the carpet, his hands half-covering his hips where things had started to stir. He could feel that Min Zhi, like him, didn’t know why they weren’t taking things further. After all, they had been more intimate before.
Min Zhi turned on the warm air, his large hand gently resting on the back of Fang Fengzhi’s head to dry his hair. As his body gradually relaxed, Fang Fengzhi grew drowsy from the warmth, leaning his face against Min Zhi’s thigh to prop up his head. His eyelids drooped uncontrollably, and eventually, he couldn’t hold on any longer, he sleepily close his eyes.
Min Zhi turned off the hairdryer and placed it aside, his hand still tangled in the Omega’s hair. The Omega seemed to have fallen asleep, completely still. Min Zhi lowered his gaze to watch him for a moment before suddenly pulling out his phone.
That phone number from earlier, one glance was all it took for the digits to stick in his mind. He opened his contacts, typed it in, and saw that it belonged to someone he knew.
Fu Baiqi.
Min Zhi stared at the screen, his hand slowly stroking the back of Fang Fengzhi’s head a few times.
Fang Fengzhi squinted his eyes, slowly turning his head. “Sorry… I fell asleep…”
“It’s fine.” He picked up the Omega and began walking upstairs. At the same time, Min Zhi’s phone rang. It was a reply to the message he had sent a few minutes ago.
The conversation was brief.
