Chapter 45: Xiaolan’s Attack
I held the Youjing. “So…this thing is a Yao’s (fairy) soul?”
“Not exactly…” Si Yi Nuo shook his head. “They are condensations of demonic energy…formed after absorbing the essence of the sun and moon…considered spirits of nature…”
“I don’t…understand…” Although I still didn’t understand what Si Yi Nuo was saying, this thing had caused quite a bit of trouble.

“Si Yi Nuo, are you hungry?” I looked at him in confusion. “I just offered you some. There’s still some left. I’ll get it for you.” I turned to get some cake, but he suddenly grabbed my wrist and pulled me back, his face close to mine.
I was a little taller than him, so he stood on his tiptoes and suddenly stuck his tongue out, licking the corner of my mouth. I was startled, my face flushing red. I quickly stepped back and looked at Si Yi Nuo.
He licked his lips with his head lowered. “Xiaolan…the cream on your face…is delicious…” He grinned, holding Xiao Bai, his sinister smile sending shivers down my spine.
I hurriedly turned away. Si Yi Nuo had actually licked me! I touched the corner of my mouth, my feelings in turmoil. It felt strange, like…like I had been dominated.
No, now wasn’t the time to worry about these details. The competition was more important.

Si Yi Nuo blinked, didn’t speak, and slowly lowered his head, his silver eyes gleaming.
I placed my hand on his shoulder. “Don’t worry, just scouting won’t be dangerous. Feeling frustrated, I switched the call to a conference call. Jiang Yan, Mo Ming, Qing Ming, Mao Mao, and Si Yi Nuo all appeared on the screen.
“Xiaolan! Are you crazy! How could you go for the ten-point task alone! It’s too dangerous!” Mao Mao was frantic.
“Xiaolan, don’t act rashly. We’ll be right there.” Jiang Yan also looked at me with unusual seriousness.
“Be quiet…she’s the captain…” Si Yi Nuo said unhappily.
I looked at them. Mo Ming’s face was almost as green as Jiang Yan’s. I said, “The ten-point task is to capture a wolf demon who participated in the Yao rebellion. He’s been on the run for ten years.”
“Let’s go!” Mo Ming turned to leave, but I immediately ordered, “Stop! Don’t alert him!”
He stopped. A sharp glint flashed in Jiang Yan’s blue eyes, as if he understood something.
I continued, “I’m here to scout first. The target is an escaped wolf demon, so he must be powerful. He’ll immediately recognize anyone from the Immortal Realm. But I’m different. First, I arrived later. Second, I’m a mortal. Didn’t you see that I’ve even changed my clothes?” I showed them my uniform.
“Pfft!” Jiang Yan burst out laughing.

Mo Ming took a deep breath and turned away, no longer looking at me.
I looked at Jiang Yan. “Jiang Yan, please keep an eye on Mo Ming. I’ll be careful. Wait for my orders.”
“Understood.”
“Okay!”
Everyone nodded except for Mo Ming, who still refused to look at me.
I ended the call. I couldn’t use the Divine Communicator now either, so I put it away, walked out of the corner, and strode into the hotel.
